Stepped in here just after the cinema. So pleased we did. The food was delicious. Fish pie, Sunday roast and a kids burger. Service was excellent.

Amazing Sunday lunch here on the 12th May 2024 with a choice of beef, pork or both. All the trimmings included in the price and the food was delicious and well cooked. One of the best Sunday lunches we've had out in a while. Highly recommend

Really disappointed. Went to dinner on Thursday (21/03) and Friday (22/03) both to have nice food and catch up with friends. Both times prebooked online days in advanve and both times had very similar experiences. I’ve been to lush before and had a lovely experiences however these times were incredibly disappointing! First night felt incredibly rushed, barely put my knife and fork down and they were already taking away my plate (no exaggeration) probably approached by staff every 5-10 minutes really got the vibe they wanted us to go- baring in mind this was a 5pm table (not anywhere near closing and a Thursday night not busy) and we ended up leaving at 6:30 even though we wanted to chat because we just felt they wanted us to go. Wrote this off as a one off because I’ve been to lush before and it was lovely went there. The next day, almost identical experience 5pm table just two of us having a catch-up except this time they told us at 6:40 our table was booked for 7 so we had to go. If hadn’t have been the day before I may have wrote this off too, but felt really awful having had booked this table in advance and having to leave a ‘catch up’ barley having any time to talk between being asked if we were done etc every 5 minutes, feeling rushed to eat and then eventually being told to leave under 2 hours. Would like to stress neither of these days was the restaurant really busy or were there no other tables available.

I have always loved Lush and have visited many times. I have never been disappointed until last night. We had a table booked for a 60th birthday, so a little bit special for 7.45 and was told at 9.30 it was last orders at the bar....9.30 really!!! Even though its advertised the restaurant is open till 11 o'clock the waitress said as it was quiet they were closing early. If we had known that we probably would of booked somewhere else. Also we felt a bit cheated when we ordered the sticky chilli chicken salad and it didn't arrive with fries anymore at the price of £17.50. Not a great experience I'm afraid. What has happened to the old Lush 😞

Normally everything is all okay, but plenty of waiters/servers, but food slow from the hot plate to the table, understandably if busy but on this occasion it wasn't, food was okay

Really lovely roast today, beef with all the trimmings and glass of wine, best way to end the week. Only thing I'd change is a traditional pudding like apple pie or crumble with custard please. Staff were great and service excellent.

I'm by no means a local and this is a restaurant I had never heard of before, however the staff were extremely accomodating, kind and one in particular was quite a laugh. Very much made the experience much better. The food was brilliantly presented and the French fries were salted the way I like them, not too much and not too little. The burger itself was really nice, it had a nice charcoal taste to it with rich meat to boot, sadly though the bacon was a bit too crisp and is my only reason for bringing it down to a four star. Other than that, the main and dessert were very nice. The atmosphere was quite nice, the music was modern for quite a fancy establishment, however there were a lot of younger people there, I say this as though I am old but I'm still in my late 20s. Other than that, it has the right ambient lighting and was all right a nice place. The only other caviat is the price, however it is to be expected and honestly, it's worth it. Give it a go, you won't be disappointed.

Literally reviewing from the table it was that good. The reception was fantastic and shown to a table, server came back and took my drink order quickly then I ordered the roasted lamb which I can only say was sublime.Will most definitely be back next time I visit Barnstaple

Ate here whilst staying away for work. It looked good on here and really did exceed my expectations!! Just a shame I live 200 miles away haha…

What a wonderful place. Warm greating on arrival. Great table by the window. Cosy atmosphere. Served mostly by Pete, manager, who was lovely... Great personality and very professional. He advised us that some of the tapas dishes were big portions so not to order too many if having main course too! He provided colouring for our 3 Yr old grandson! Food was delicious. Will definitely return

We visited yesterday for a lunch with my partner and our dog. Absolutely beautiful place with the most friendly staff. I was a real nuisance after getting my burger with a bit of pink in the middle. It looked beautiful, but being pregnant I needed it to be well done (I shouldn't have assumed it would have been). Feeling awful I asked if it could be cooked slightly longer and they were so kind even though I was awful for not stating when ordering. The food was lovely!!!! Special mention to the toilets as they had dry shampoo, deodorants, wipes, hairspray and other things to keep you feeling fresh whilst visiting. These little things make such a difference. I would definitely recommend.

Usually come here when visiting for work and usually have no issues with the service or food, but this time the food seemed to have chillies all over it and something that wasn't meant to be spicy was, didn't take long to get the food either but getting the drinks took longer than it should, one of us asked for a water which was forgotten about until we had to ask again as the food was that spicy, then once we finished eating we were next to waitresses but none of them took out empty plates, the same for the table next to us as well as they said about it, they only took them when we asked them to and then took ages to get the bill so we had to ask again, then ended up with two bills. Great place usually.

The ambience, and the staff offered great service, but the katsu chicken curry was so tasteless.

Feeling hungry? Then you need to check out Lush restaurant! The food there is simply amazing, trust me. I recently had the katsu curry with halloumi and chicken, and it was so delicious. What's even better is that the staff eagerly accommodated my order request at no additional cost. My family also ordered various meals, and we were all delighted with what we got. The restaurant's ambiance is cozy, making it the perfect spot for a catch-up session with friends or an intimate date. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of food you get. The staff are also very friendly and helpful. And oh, they have a good selection of beer too! You'll need to book your table early though, as they're always packed. Don't worry about parking, Queen Street car park is just a few minutes away. You don't want to miss out on the Lush restaurant experience. Bon appétit!

Had a very nice meal here with my family, portions were very reasonable, prices weren't too bad, my steak wasn't the best I've ever had but definitely not the worst.

My boyfriend and I had dinner here 08/04/23 whilst visiting Barnstaple for the weekend. The service was friendly and insanely quick for a busy Saturday night! We had starters, mains and a pudding and probably waited no longer than 15mins inbetween courses. The food was absolutely outstanding, im glad we don’t live closer because we’d probably eat here too often! My boyfriend had the katsu chicken curry for main and hasn’t stopped talking about it! I had the carbonara which was lovely and we shared the brownie for dessert which was incredible. Honestly rate the food here so much, when we return to Barnstaple we will eat here again without fail. Thank you so much and keep up the good work!

The chicken in the chicken an bacon salad was dry.but my partner had the pork which was lovely, so mixed opinions, depends what you have.

A nice buzzy atmosphere with very attentive and engaging staff. Food was good in large portion sizes. Only down side was a lack of craft beer on tap.

Had heard great things about this place, but from people who had gone in the evening. We decided to try lunch here. Very disappointing!! The mains were lovely, but service was awful even though it was quiet, staff were busy talking and not paying attention to the customers at tables. So awful we decided to get dessert elsewhere. Such a shame because the food would have been worth a return visit. Definitely wouldn’t go back for lunch.

Food - as beautiful as ever! Excellent quality, although more costly than other places in town, but you get what you pay for. Imo it worth it! Service - Pete was our server, every establishment should have a Pete. Happy, smiling, polite, helpful (with menu and drinks recommendations), all you could ask for. And one of the reasons we go back.

We had the Sunday roast and it was delicious and substantial. Very tender beef and lovely gravy. Service was a bit slow but they were clearly busy so not surprising and the food was worth waiting for. Would definitely come again.

The Sunday Roast is the best roast in all of Devon and there’s a special place in hell for those that don’t agree 😃 I will tell my children and future generations of the succulent beefy beef and pork crackling. The Yorkshire pudding was akin to eating a tasty baked cloud from heaven. A tear was brought to my eye when trying that rich cauliflower cheese. The red cabbage, roast potatoes, parsnips and carrots were superb. Peas aren’t really my kind of thing but I ate those little sweet green balls too. Four of us ate our meal in almost complete silence whilst enjoying every mouthful. I personally came to the realisation that although we’re living in worrying times and nothing seems to be certain, this roast dinner makes everything right in the world.

A truly incredible experience in every way possible. From the food to the service, everything from the second we entered to the minute we left; was amazing. Food was quick and delicious. Everyone on floor and in kitchen were incredibly helpful.

Great experience before the a night out at the queen's theatre, service the staff were very attentive the food was well presented and served hot and had a good variety atmosphere was chilled and relaxed we had our daughters with us so a good family inviroment around 6pm I believe the weekends would be busy though but great fun for all I would highly recommend LUSH to anyone who reads this also always talk to waiters if you have a problem they are there to help you 🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠

Well again a first time going but not disspapointed, kinda, thier Youve pulled burger was amazing, it fills you rigght up, only let down is the chicken katsu curry, for £15 you get 3 small thin chicken strips and mostly rice and not alot of sauce, had ti ask for more chicken and sayce, couldnt have more chicken becayse its pre-portioned and could only get the suace. Apart frim that its a really good place

The food, first and foremost, was exceptional and the decor is superb. Only minor gripe was the service which was ok but could have been sharper.

Wandered in by chance this evening and the food and service has been brilliant. We had the sweet chilli chicken salad and katsu chicken which were both big portions and really tasty, our son had the chicken nuggets which were also excellent. Thank you so much!

We ordered the antipasti sharing platter and it was excellent! Washed down with a really nice glass of merlot. Food was plentiful, service was quick and efficient. A really lovely atmosphere with lots of nice cocktails being prepared. 😃
