Nice little pub tucked away in the village if Lee. Traditional with roaring log fires. Food was limited menu but delicious nonetheless friendly staff. Car park around the back. A little difficult, access wise for wheelchair users. Obviously popular with walkers and holidaymakers and apparently has a great open mic on Friday evening.

Looks unassuming from the exterior, almost as it's closed. However round the back there is a good beer garden and a period English pub interior. Good pint selection, noticeably short staffed when we visited, however still helpful and thoughtful.

The ultra- steep, narrow, access road down to the pub and village is the only bad thing (to walk or even drive) about this otherwise exemplary public hostelry. A funicular is needed asap Their Beer was especially good!

We've been going to the Grampus on our trips to North Devon for years, and it has maintained a consistently great standard for more than a decade now. A great selection of beers, reliably good food and a beautiful beer garden make this the best pub for miles around. The menu has been the same for years, but has been shrinking lately, losing a few favourites like the sausage and mash and the Asian greens. While I love the chilli and the sweet potato & peanut stew, I'm wondering if it's past time for a menu shake-up?

Atmospheric pub and beer garden nestled amongst dense forest in a small valley. We had the goats cheese dip and venison which was delicious. Good wine selection and board games too. Because it’s quite isolated, this is a destination pub but it’s sleazy to spend hours is such a chilled atmosphere.

We enjoyed our time here in this beautiful pub full of character! Food : We really enjoyed our food albeit a basic menu the food was piping hot and super tasty! Drinks : Fantastic selection of drinks on tap and also the pubs own brew which was available on tap and wasn't to bad! Other beers on tap other than their own were all local which is a nice touch and supports local business which I like. Child friendly and provided high chair! Overall : Would definitely come again definitely would highly recommend especially if you want to try new beers and local offerings!

NOT SUITABLE FOR FAMILIES. Spent alot of money here, (bout 15 of us) and ruined the night through not vetting foul mouthed idiots. Won't go back. Avoid if you have children

Stopped by for a coffee whilst walking along the coastal path. Visited on a Saturday afternoon. A far better cup of coffee then the usual 'instant' cup served at a pub - and I'm very fussy when it comes to coffee. Felt welcome - as did our dog! Great atmosphere. Lots of fellow walkers and locals alike. Wonderful, friendly service. The food being served looked absolutely fabulous (was so tempted!) and a great range of ales. It's also a bit of a sun trap with an impressive beer garden. Will be returning!

An olde worlde pub with its own micro brewery set 3 mins walk up the valley from Lee Bay car park, run by young staff, brilliantly. Always welcoming and friendly, laid back and easy going, if it was any closer to the beach it would be a surfers paradise. Don't let that put you off, everyone is welcome, walkers, dogs, day trippers, and locals. We've visited on many occasions when walking the Coast Path and it has always been a genuine pleasure. We've not eaten there but the menu and portions look great. If you're in the area give The Grampus a visit, you won't regret it.

Pubs like these should be safeguarded... So many pubs around here are chain pubs, taking tourist's money and shipping it off to the cities, this is a true gem of a watering hole. They brew their own beer, don't charge the earth, and you won't find anything better for 50 miles around. Great food & location. Long live the soul of this place x

Lovely staff. Nice atmosphere nice log burner. Good music, games and interiors. Quite expensive for what it was. Good mains but chips were frozen fries and undercooked. When going to a pub you would expect home made chips apart from that was a lovely pub. For the pricing expected more home cooked food.

I always order my Indian/Nepalese takeaway food here and usually the best in the whole of the Sourh West! Not your usual Bangladeshi food disguised as Indian dishes. I am a foodie frequent Brilliiance in Southall, London and I know Indian/Nepalese food very well indeed. The food is nearly always exceptional here but every now and an again it goes abit off the rails. It’s a shame really this restaurant is one of the best I have ever been to and an absolute brilliant place and our door step. The sheek kebabs are like the ones you get in India and Nepal and street food hand made ones. Except we got frozen ones this time you could tell dry freezer burn as fresh are always moist. It’s a shame it slips sometime and we always love fresh chillies over hot red chilli powder, next time I won’t order over the phone but go on with chillies in my pocket so we can have fresh chillies. But still it’s better than any other Indian/Nepalese Restaurant in the whole of the South West of England, what a find here in Barnstaple, North Devon. Chilli Paneer will blow you mind spongy paneer how it’s meant to be cooked, absolutely brilliant dish reminds my wife proper Indian food like mother used to cook. Still the best place to go on the South West of England by far we have tried everywhere and Everest Ghutka is ok our doorstep what a blessing to have.
