1830 Saturday 26th April. With Golden Valley (Westfield Rd) closed for a few weeks, the in-laws had to go somewhere else. Next nearest was Bamboo Garden but they were not taking orders as they were so busy. Idami had a high rating so gave it a try. Ordered 2 chicken fried rice and one sweet and sour chicken balls. Said it would be ready in 15 mins so went straight down and got it! Different s&s sauce than they were used to but it went down a hit. I'd be trying here first next time if it was up to me.

For starters (tapas), I ordered Iberian ham with tumaca & garlic, Serrano ham croquetas, and black squid ink croquetas. Trust me when I say this—I was already feeling full just from the starters! The Iberian ham was melt-in-your-mouth delicious, with its rendered fat soaking into the crispy toasted baguette, creating the perfect bite. The croquetas were incredibly creamy, with the Serrano ham adding a rich, savory depth and the squid ink delivering an intense, umami-packed flavor.
Next came the Mussels in Basque salsa verde and Squid in black ink sauce—both dishes were packed with flavor. Dipping the warm, crusty baguette into those sauces was simply heavenly.
For the main course, my group of eight shared the Seafood Paella with Bomba Rice, and it was nothing short of perfection. Pairing it with their homemade alioli sauce took the dish to another level. This combo never fails to leave me completely satisfied.
Beyond the food, the service was exceptional. The owner and his mother were incredibly kind and welcoming. I even remember walking into the restaurant one time while the owner was slicing Iberian ham—he generously offered me a taste, which made the experience feel even more special. The atmosphere was just as impressive, with calming music that made the meal even more enjoyable.
No words can fully express how grateful I am to have discovered this place and met such wonderful people. If you’re looking for an unforgettable Spanish dining experience, Goierri Flavour of Spain is the place to be!
I visit Picnic Coffee every week for the delicious coffee and lemon drizzle cake. However, the staff just bring my order to the table and walk away without a word or a glance at me. Where are the staff other reviewers praise so highly?
Lovely rural location. Food very nice. Husband had egg/mayo sandwich and chips which was tasty and I had cream tea. Scone was fresh, warm and home made with clotted cream and choice of jam. We were the only people there although another party was leaving when we got there and a large table was booked for afternoon tea. Would definitely recommend and very pleasant staff.

We were made very welcome on arrival at The Royal Oak for our one night stay. The private room, with en-suite was tastefully furnished, clean and very comfortable with welcome complimentary coffee, teas and biscuits. Even our cocker poo was given bedding, water bowl, dog toilet bags and dog biscuits - which went down very well. He even had a safe garden area to run in. A great garden with great views to enjoy sitting in with an evening drink. Very good value and would definitely stay there again. Thank you.
Ordered white bait, material and fish curry. Had to wait over 30 mins before the drinks arrived. Palpably slow service. Left the venue still hungry and wanting for a bag of chips
This is a wonderful place, full of character. The couple who run it are lovely and food was lovely. The mash and beef pie was delicious and our children were really happy with theirs. Thanks.
This could be the best Gelato outside Italy! The flavours are fabulous and the macarons are superb as well. We try not to buy ice cream anywhere else because nothing comes close and we are so lucky to have this in Truro.
A sunny day sitting on the harbour side with a delicious bowl of local mussels in a cream and white wine sauce, accompanied by warm bread and a glass of beer. Perfect!
The best lemon doughnut ever. Infact, the best doughnut I have ever had. We stumbled upon this bakery on drive from Cornwall to Bristol. Looked like a good place to walk the dog (& it was, lovely park!). The staff were lovely. Bubbly & happy to give directions to nearby park. I wish we lived near to regularly eat their lemon curd doughnuts!
