I visit Picnic Coffee every week for the delicious coffee and lemon drizzle cake. However, the staff just bring my order to the table and walk away without a word or a glance at me. Where are the staff other reviewers praise so highly?

Went there with a mate, place was small (but expected for a specialty coffee shop), mid range price, cute setting. Coffee was mid though. It tasted like they burned the coffee grounds if I’m being honest, but I’m not sure it I got a bad batch, or if it’s my fault for ordering a generic latte at a specialty coffee shop… will give it a second go but I’m sceptical

The clues were small, but significant: the first came when Mrs. F. and I entered the Picnic Cafe and ordered coffee. The card reader asked whether we wished to include a tip - now wherever else on this planet are you expected to tip *before* service? We had not been at our table but a minute or three, drinking our large black coffees, when a waiter turned up with two flat whites on a tray and, despite the fact that ours was clearly a table only for two, that there were two of us, sitting in front of two freshly served coffees, seemed surprised when we told him that his were surplus to our requirements and that we hadn't ordered them. He went away, manifestly confused. They walk among us. They look like us. But they occasionally give themselves away by showing their lack of research on the Tellurian human metabolism and social refreshment conventions. Mrs. F. infers that the Picnic Cafe is an acculturation pod for aliens doing some sort of intergalactic Gastarbeiter "Earn-As-You-Learn" work experience on a part of Planet Earth where (as with Glastonbury and Boulder, Colorado) they will not be thought too suspiciously weird if they commit a gaffe. The guy bringing the extra coffees could, she said, have been just in from the Gamma Quadrant yesterday. Then, minutes later, a middle-aged chap passing by stops at our pavement table and hails me as an old friend. He then apologizes, saying I look like the friend but the friend has just been seen inside, and in he goes. I look through the window, where there are two possible candidates (i.e., two ostensibly male humanoids). Neither of them looks remotely like me. They walk among us. They look just like us, but... Go on. Pay a visit and find out the truth for yourself (it's out there). You know you want to.

This is my go to coffee in the morning post gym. I’ve been coming here since Covid hot and it’s become my established routine. It’s a beautifully relaxed atmosphere (which I want and like), coupled with great coffee and staff. Some staff have come and gone in my time here (which is the way of things) but they are consistently personable and engaging. I would say this is the place to come for coffee in Bath but I don’t want my favourite coffee shop over run! 😃

What a lovely little spot! My boyfriend and I visited on our stay in Bath for coffee and it was really good! The coffee was amazing (exactly what I was hoping for) and they also offered alternative milks which is always nice. They also had a really great selection of gluten free cakes, which was such a surprise being gluten free myself! They had a brownie, victoria sponge and also carrot cake, as well as other regular cake and pastry options. We both had a slice of the carrot cake it was sooo tasty. The interior is lovely - really bright and aesthetic. The staff were very friendly too which always goes a long way. We will definitely be visiting on our next trip in the near future!

Morning wander around Bath, I wanted somewhere to stop for a coffee and cake. A lot of places are not open until 8:30 or even 9:00 so great to find this open at 8:00. Clean, functional space. Tables & chairs well spaced. Good service. Good quality americano. Tasty date & oat slice. Reasonably priced. Overall a good coffee shop.

Got a chai latte today to keep me warm. After waiting a while, which wasn’t a bother as they were busy so understandable - I got a under filled ‘chai’ latte that tasted like basically just milk and was only just room temp. Over 4 pounds for a cup of milk.

Since Covid hit us, I don't go into cafes as much as before, but Picnic is definitely one I go into now. The outside seating certainly helps in this respect. Great products and good service. And it's an independent - far better to go to one of these than a chain. The New Yorker sandwich is a favourite. Good coffee and great for a glass of Honey's Midford Cider. I was last there a few days ago. Will be back for sure!

I love visiting the Picnic whether it's for a work related meeting or for a catch up with friends. My current favourite is their Kombucha cold drinks and the with range of loose teas. Whilst my diet allowed coffee etc my favorite was their aeropress and the matcha green tea latte! The food is just beautiful whether you're are after something sweet or savoury - all goods in the shop are super eco friendly and locally sourced as much as possible. You can also by gifts - their chocolate always stands out to me as they're passionetly support great causes by selling them. Not to mention that you can purchase Billy chips here, too! My list is endless with positives when it comes to Picnic, but will finish my review adding that you'll never lose your receipt from them nor need to bin it as they email it to you upon request. Absolutely adore this place :)

The staff in here are always friendly and the coffee is very good. I usually have a cake, small lunch or a snack too and there is a good variety on offer. It is sparingly decorated and really pretty tranquil on some days - it doesn't have that clattery feel a lot of Baths cafés have. The WC is also always neat and clean - a small thing but it helps to make Picnic an oasis on a busy day in town. I like the big windows too :) also it is an INDEPENDENT cafe which I love :)

Amazing toasties! I’ve been in Picnic quite a few times just for coffee and always liked the peaceful atmosphere and the bright corner spot. This time we had some toasties for lunch and I know it sounds ridiculous but they were the best toasties ever! The bread was lovely and light, I had the Brie and chilli jam, it was so good. Toasties can be quite heavy but these were just perfect - light and really tasty.

In a city rammed full of coffee bars and deli's it's really hard to find one that stands out but this is it! Doesn't look like much from outside but inside there are friendly welcoming staff and excellent tea and cake, yes I did say tea. As a tea lover I get really fed up with the endless hordes of places that spend hours noisily grinding and making the best espresso this side of wherever coffee comes from but think a teabag in a mug is okay for our national drink, not here they don't. Here you get decent leaf tea served in a nice teapot and with whatever specialist milk you require, fabulous. Alongside it you can indulge in a great slab of very good coffee and walnut cake (see I do like coffee) and enjoy watching the rest of the world pushing and shoving their way into Waitrose opposite.

I stopped here for some coffee on my visit to Bath and really enjoyed the quality coffee served here. I'm a big fan of independent coffee shops but not too keen on chains, so I jumped right into Picnic, always on the lookout for these little coffee gems. The cafe itself is very small but there is a moderate number of seats. The Americano I had was fantastic, I really missed a good strong brew as I live in an area where there's only chains like Costa and Starbucks. The prices are very reasonable, the staff were great and the cafe decor itself is bright and crisp. The location is also only a hop skip and jump away from tourist spots like the Roman baths and there is car parking right opposite, so I'd really recommend popping in if in the area or even parking there to get the day going!

When the food had arrived I got excited and split my coffee all over the food and myself.... needlesss to say the staff had no problem in replacing the food and drink free of charge, which is rare nowadays. Visited this cafe with my 2 children, we had a drink first the children done some colouring which they enjoyed, We then went into the soft play area cost £4 per child adult £1 , your in there for a hour, the children had a lovely time, my only complaint is they were not allowed to leave the soft play area for a drink as if they did they wouldn’t be allowed back in,
