Perfect sized delicious cakes! They have benches and space along the towpath for seating and sell all-sorts from iced coffee and diet coke to lattes, cakes and Marshfield ice-cream. There is on street parking next to the local primary school and some wonderful walks along the towpath either into Bath or towards Dundas aquaduct. A lovely spot down by the canal, friendly service, but regardless of how much you spend and regardless of how desperate you are the toilet facilities on the barge are NOT for customer use. We visit twice to three times a year and were told they do not work in May half term and again during the six weeks of the summer holidays. However clarified the actual reason during our recent visit. No signage, very confusing.Left feeling guilty walking into The George pub to use toilet facilities which are solely for the pubs customers. I'm afraid we won't be visiting again.

This great café on the canal is an ideal place away from the maddening crowd, with delightful, staff and delicious cake and great service Most of the seating is outside on the canal bank opposite (with the trees for shelter) with two tables on the boat. Go inside the boat and order and pay. Staff are great and Is a pleasant place for cyclists, walkers, families and almost everyone without being in the confines of a shop I have been passed this place so many times that it is just great to be able to actually use it Great value for money

This delightful Café on the Barge, is literally what it says on the tin, and you go inside and order and pay for tea and the delicious home made cake is not to be missed - there are 2 small tables on the outside and more tables on the grass just outside. Great atmosphere, friendly and delightful staff and reasonable prices too. I have been passed this place on several occasions and decided today that I would use it and I was not to be disappointed.

It is is worth stopping off at this barge cafe if you are walking along the canal towpath just for the originality factor. The coffee was reasonable (not great) but it was just too soon after breakfast to road test the tempting Victoria sponge with fresh fruit and cream... Whenever my wife and I pass the Barge we always call in for that extra special welcome, a superb coffee and a slice of the super delicious cake. We tried the first cake sold - a carrot cake so beautifully decorated it was a shame to cut it! If it's lunch time we have one of the other specials but whatever we have we know it's all home made, fresh and a real treat for our taste buds. Many locals use the Barge as a meeting and social point but all other customers receive the same warm welcome and service whatever they are ordering.
