The Green Bird Cafe in Bath and North East Somerset

Delicious breakfast, served in a cozy cafe in the centre of Bath. The staff are kind and the service is quick. The kale-lentils-carrot-feta salad is delectable and their poached eggs on sourdough toast are heavenly.

We always love coming to the Green Bird Cafe. The food is absolutely amazing, we had the homemade beans which were so delicious. The staff are all so so lovely, we had the most friendly waitress too!

Food,atmosphere,service was amazing!! They’re really busy we waited a little bit to get a table but ıt absolutely worth it We had Turkish eggs absolutely stunning 😍 On the side we ordered homemade beans and mushrooms!! Specless!! Highly recommended!! They don’t take bookings and they don’t charge service charge it’s optional which ı like 👍

This lovely cafe surpasses the expectations you might have about what you can cook that is ‘XYZ on toast’. Delightful food with very good quality ingredients. Warm and helpful staff with lovely indoor and outdoor tables. Very reasonably priced too. Also best in Bath for veggie, vegan and gluten free.

Overprice menu, which gives high expectations for the food. However this is not the case. Food was bland and not worth the price. Considering they were classic simple dishes it was a shame they were not to standard

A great spot for breakfast and tea, the food is scrumptious and the staff are a breeze of friendliness. A must visit, and the locals have it good with such an amazing cafe on their doorstep.

Baiscally no vegan options for Buunch :( Nothing on the menu was labled as vegan, when we asked our server what was vegan he didn't know. Ended up getting the beans on toast without cheese on, which was fine. Really it's quite disappointing that a cafe with such range on its menu isn't able to have at least one or two vegan options. There are lots of vegans in Bath and we deserve options :(

lovely food and lovely staff, minus one lady with the bob who seems to run things. abrupt and unwelcoming, taking plates away before even finishing the food and placing bills down when still drinking coffee. having read the reviews prior it seems many have the same experience with this staff member. very disappointing considering the rest of the staff are accommodating and lovely and the food is nice. if you’re looking for an equally lovely place i’d recommend good day cafe- lovely staff.

We had to queue to get a table which on one hand is a great sign of good food but a negative when it’s freezing cold. We were seated quite quickly considering and menus distributed. A great varied brunch menu is on offer, I had scrambled eggs on sourdough with extras of black pudding and pan fried chorizo , it was cooked from scratch and piping hot and totally delicious. The bill for three of us was £70 with a tip. The extras were £2.50 each so it soon added up. The carrot cake was £4 and delicious . Well worth it as a treat . The service was excellent too

We enjoyed a lovely brunch here, the toasties, soup and cake were delicious and the food and drinks were all great quality. Service was very friendly and efficient.

Great breakfast! Came here on a day visit to Bath - my first stop to grab some food - & it was well worth it! Having the French toast with bacon & syrup with a cappuccino started my day off perfectly. It appeared full as I walked in but they offered me a table in the 'back' area which was very nice & a little more calm to sit & plan the day. Price wise is was not too bad either for what you got & compared to the other places in Bath. Great location too with friendly staff to help top off the visit. Recommend a lot :)

Fabulous food ! I'm a bit of a foodie and fussy when it comes down to going out dining but this place was one of the best I have been for years ! We had shakshuka wish was delicious and a salmon and cream cheese beagle which was also delicious! Service was excellent! Will definitely go again when in the area ! Yum !

Best breakfast out ever. We got here early for opening at 9am to get a table as had read reviews saying how popular it is. I had the French toast with pear compote and mascapone whilst my husband had the saltbeef on Ciabatta. Both were so good, it's the best breakfast I've had out ever and we go out frequently. Service was quick and friendly. Would highly recommend.

Great spot for breakfast, brunch, lunch, morning coffee or afternoon tea. Service was friendly & efficient. Thoroughly enjoyed my lunch. Portions a little on the small side for the price but would definitely recommend.

This place always has a line up and it’s easy to see why. The decor is inviting and feels like home, the food is incredible, and the staff are friendly and attentive. I enjoyed the shakshouka and many a long black, whilst taking in the surroundings and enjoying the ambience.

We chose this based on other’s positive reviews. We were not disappointed. The lack of full English breakfast on the menu meant that we tried dishes that we may not have normally chosen. Excellent food and presentation. All freshly cooked, staff were attentive and friendly. Would not hesitate to recommend this place.

We've been to 6 cafe's in Bath over the last 10 days, and the food at The Green Bird Cafe' was, by far, the most delicious. It was obvious that a great deal of care went into their dishes. The service was great, and the bathrooms were clean! The scrumptious mulled cider was an added breakfast guilty pleasure.

This was a great find, we spotted people queuing to get in for breakfast and thought that was a good sign! We enjoyed several breakfasts here during our stay in Bath, highlights being porridge with peanut butter, maple syrup, and raisins soaked in chai latte, cheese and ham croissants, and best of all, French toast with cripsy bacon and maple syrup. The staff were delightful and the cafe had a really nice atmosphere.

Place is nice but they can be rude as i experienced coldness from one of their staff members

At first glance there does not to be much seating but don't be put off there is plenty, set out on different levels, and the lovely staff will help you find a table. Great menu choices - we had delicious mushroom, broccoli & thyme soup. Perfect, and just the thing to warm you up on a miserable winters day. Highly recommended

A lovely typical country cafe, with the added delights of a wonderful variety of pastries. 'y friendly efficient staff helped to make the visit memorable.

Great food, service and overall experience. We looked for a breakfast as we’re heading to towards the bath spa train station and stumbled on this place when researching and decided to give it a try. We are very delighted with the food that we order, definitely recommend.

Extension menu with a good selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes, dogs only allowed outside. Always busy, due to its good food and coffee.

Ive been 5 months ago for breakfast and i gave a 5 star rating accross the board. I went last weekend and the food was not that great, something has changed.

Really a treat to have gone here. The food and drinks were exceptional and the service was great. It does get quite busy so I suggest going right at opening time. I highly recommend getting a hot chocolate with a shot espresso, and the french toast.

In a quiet road between the Circus and the Crescent, with several indoor seating tables and a fee outdoor in a little courtyard, it offers good quality and selection of brunch food including soup, great cakes, smoothies, juices and coffee; the girls at the desk are very friendly, fast service, good wifi, plugs near tables to recharge phones… the perfect stop for a break: highly recommend it

There have always been queues when we’ve thought about trying here, but managed to grab a table outside and I can see why it’s so popular. We had the French toast with bacon and maple syrup, and eggs and bacon on sour dough - both were delicious, good portions and friendly service, will definitely return.

Fantastic experience!!! We saw this place was highly rated and as they didnt have an online menu, we just decided to turn up to see what they had. After about a 15 minute wait for a table (which we just saw as a good sign as the rest of the street was empty but this place was packed), we got served really quickly (especially considering how busy they were) and the server gave loads of options to make many of the dishes vegan which was very nice and accommodating which in the end was a tomato and red pepper hash with beans and toast. I had scrambled eggs on sourdough with some beans as an extra which all tasted amazing and super fresh!

This place definitely deserves its high ratings! Service was exceptional with very polite staff. Brunch was delicious and coffee made to perfection! Great spot in Bath for brunch

Delicious. Best breakfast I’ve had in years. I had tenderstem broccoli on ricotta toast (which was a real stand out) and homemade baked beans, hubby had poached eggs and streaky bacon, and we finished it off with an almond croissant. So so good. Coffee great too, service kind, attentive and lightning fast.

Poor show this morning. Prioritising couples over trios who were waiting nearly half an hr to be seated..... very sad to bring my friends visiting Bath to my local cafe having raved. Usually a much better experience

A lovely spot for brunch! We enjoyed brunch on a busy Saturday morning, only waiting 10 minutes for a table. We enjoyed the Turkish Eggs, creamy mushrooms, and a selection of sandwiches/drinks. The staff were attentive and our food arrived quickly. The portions were generous and everything was well seasoned - I only wish the food arrived slightly hotter! We would definitely return on our next visit to Bath!

Was recommended this cafe for breakfast - we went for lunch. If the breakfast is as good as the lunch, I will definitely go back. Choice is great and the price is reasonable. My friend is a vegan - have a lot of options and good quality.

This small restaurant was around the corner from our hotel and the hotel staff recommended we try the place for lunch. The place was busy when we arrived, but yet we had two very good paninis served relatively quickly. The bill was reasonable for the area.

We were recommended to visit by our Airbnb hosts and we weren’t disappointed! What a fabulous place, food was amazing, service really lovely! The French toast with bacon and maple syrup is a must! Cheese & ham toastie was equally good! Seating inside & out and was really popular!

The Green Bird is a beautiful cafe and I love it here. The staff are so warm, friendly and attentive, especially Ellie she was so lovely and looked after us well. The food is excellent and presented beautifully, very wholesome and tasty. The coffee is also 10/10. Overall really enjoyed my brunch experience and will definitely be back.

This little cafe was recommended by a shop owner in Bath. It serves healthy foods for breakfast and lunch. We ordered tasty soups and carrot cakes. Both were delicious. It was a very crowded cafe. Prices were reasonable.

Really enjoyed our breakfast at the green bird cafe, they don't do Full English as such, but you can make it up from items on the menu, and everything was delicious! The coffee was good, a little hotter than I'd liked, but I didn't specify, so can't really complain! Orange juice was phenomenal! Great place and the courtyard was a lovely place to eat!

On entering was quickly given a table & menu. Enjoyed main meal, even though rose wine was not chilled enough. Down hill thereafter - plate snatched away as I was chewing last mouthful, not asked if I wanted anything else such as cake and in particular coffee. Tried to draw various waitresses attention, but completely ignored. What should have been an enjoyable experience ended in disappointment. After waiting 15 minutes I paid and left

This is such a lovely cafe, I’ve been meaning to write a review about this place for ages as been so many times, the coffee is always great, everyone loves this place! Sometimes we have to wait a bit for a table, you can’t book, but that’s ok. The soups are filling and delicious, faves are home-baked beans, mushrooms on toast, and the Turkish eggs with a tuna melt (greedy!) are the best! It’s all not too expensive and quickly served. It can be a bit windy in Margaret’s buildings so I usually like to sit indoors.

After a visit last year this year's visit was a welcome reprise. Food is lovely and beautifully presented. The staff are welcoming and attentive. We sat outside as we have a dog and our only criticism would be that seat pads would be welcome on slatted seats. We love it here at the Green Bird and will be back again.

Discovered this gem of a place today. Had a morning coffee but returned for lunch as menu looked good. Then actually had a couple of the Specials they told us about - poached eggs on sourdough toast with asparagus and hollandaise. Pavement tables, inside tables front & back or rear courtyard. Good loos.

Wonderful food - I would recommend the Turkish eggs in particular - and exceptionally friendly service. We arrived 11am on a Sunday and waited about 20 minutes for a table. I believe it's walk-ins only.
