Silco in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Finally found a hidden gem in Cornwall that provides absolutely amazing food and a great price. The fish curry was incredible and both my wife and daughter relished the fresh flavours and beautiful ingredients.

This unassuming little place, at the pier end of the waterfront, looking out over the fishing boats, served us an exquisite sharing platter of their specials. The tastes were exceptionally flavoursome and together with their own brand of orange gin, made this a very special experience. Highly recommended!

Gorgeous food and gorgeous atmosphere in here. Only criticism is that we returned a year later and the limited menu hadn’t changed. Thankfully we loved the food we had the year previous and so had the exact same again - however there isn’t loads of choice. But, the food really is gorgeous and would highly recommend. The seaweed fries in particular are amazing!!!

Excellent service and a very positive and warm vibe. Chef Rob's creations from Sri Lanka and Lebanon were delicious. Elliot was friendly and helpful. Izzy the manageress was a great ambassador of this unique place. Nothing was a problem for her. She was very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. Enjoyed the cocktails with the Sumac salt. Will certainly recommend this place.

Tamarind and coconut fish curry - wow! The best I’ve ever tasted. Was recommended by a friend to eat here and it didn’t disappoint. Will definitely be back!

First visit to this venue which specialises in tapas (and gin cocktails). Friendly attentive staff and superb food. Everything was delicious but must mention the Singapore crab fries, butterfly sardines, lentil fritters and amazing Crispy Cavolo Nero - if you think cabbage is dull you must try this. Strongly recommended and will definitely be visiting again.

What a stunning spot to sit and watch the world go by whilst having a fabulous cold Slipway PA, and eating olives and vegetable crisps. The ambience is superb, the service second to none and the staff so so friendly. Extremely quick to clean tables for awaiting customers which is wonderful to see. Visited several times whilst on our weeks holiday. A must to everyone visiting St Ives.

This harbour front restaurant certainly gets our vote. Creative and tasty fresh locally sourced menu. Great staff. We will be back- it has become our new favourite st ives restaurant replacing others which has simply out priced themselves! A great find.

Another lovely meal at this resturant. We found this gem of a place on our last visit to St Ives and it was first on our list to revisit this time. We shared several of the dishes and all were cooked to perfection. The two girls serving were very friendly. Overall, a great resturant that we would highly recommend.

We called in on spec at this lovely little place near the end of the Promenade in St Ives. We'd never been before and hadn't booked a table. The young lady found a lovely place for two looking out onto the sun drenched bay. Our meals were the Lebanese Spiced Lamb for me and Carol had the Chicken Katsu. I have never eaten anything that tasty before! Wonderful... Carol was equally impressed with her meal too. So very very tasty!! And all washed down with a tasty iced drink. What a find we wandered in by chance really, knowing nothing about the menu, but it was absolutely first class Lovely quality, very fairly priced and delightful service. My husband is still telling everyone about the fish curry! I did taste some and it was fabulous. But so were the lentil fritters. To be honest it was nearly impossible to choose, the whole menu was so appealing, and I have paid a lot more and enjoyed a meal a lot less on this holiday. Very highly recommended.

We come to St Ives every year for a summer holiday. Friends of ours visited this restaurant a month before and recommended it. We booked well in advance which was easy to do. Went for dinner this evening and had a splendid time! Wonderful food, service was good. Food was exceptional. Would highly recommend .

Rude and unpleasant staff. We were looking for early evening dinner and drinks, but did not stay due to condescending attitude of staff, no warmth or welcome....shame!

Terrific place along the harbour front knocking it out the park with a small plates of deliciousness! If you’re like me and struggle to settle on a single dish from a menu, this is the place for you… Silco offers an eclectic selection of dishes all perfectly executed. Ok; So the plates aren’t huge - but you paying for quality not quantity alongside great friendly service. For me this place is perfect, one of the best in St Ives.

From outside, Silco looks a bit like your usual harbour-front cafe. But having looked at the menu and visited for dinner, it turned out to be a great dining experience. Flavours were combined really well, including a few unlikely examples. Service was friendly and professional and the wine list was well chosen. The interior is a bit stark - fine for daytime, less so for dinner - but that's not a great concern when the food is so good. Definitely worth another visit.

This is the perfect spot to sit in in St Ives if the weather is a bit dodgy because you can sit in the bay window, look out to sea and feel the warmth from the sun through the glass👌🏼 The cocktails were incredible(it's happy hour after 3pm) and the tapas were delicious, great vegan and veggie options! Guy who served us was lovely and made us feel welcome, may even go back there today😅

An on the spur of the moment decision due to unseasonably warm sunny weather in February. Lovely views across St Ives harbour and we sat outside. Our waitress was excellent - polite, attentive and confident in making recommendations and clearly knew and understood the menu. We ordered Lebanese lamb and chicken katsu along with some flatbreads to share. All were exceptional, well presented and full of flavour. It couldn’t have been better! The homemade lemonade was delicious too. The prices are steep but the setting and quality of the food and service were worth it.

The best flatbreads I have ever had, ordered the coriander and garlic butter flatbread with the baba ganoush and they were incredible! Great portions so worth the money. Honestly perfection, thank you. Very friendly too 😊

Excellent food very flavoursome and very tasty. Loud hip hop music + no service interaction with staff + 10% gratuity on top of quite expensive food means won’t return. Happy hour should be 2 beers for £6 or £7 not £10!!

Popped into Silco for a hot drink to warm us up on a cold winters day, having previously been there for a pint in the summer. Went to the counter to order a couple of lattes, including decaf, and was told that we couldn’t have those. Confused, we said we’re happy to just have standard tea and coffee, only to be told that ‘they don’t do just tea and coffee’. Still confused, as we could see a big coffee machine with stacks of cups and saucers on top, we were then told ‘they don’t just do tea and coffee for people who aren’t eating’. We understand this, although on this occasion the place was half empty and we wouldn’t have been there long, but these things need to be made clear and not said in a condescending way. We live locally and were repeat customers. I’ve heard good things about the food but, based on our experience, won’t be returning. We went to a restaurant a few doors down who were happy to serve us coffees without a problem.

Excellent food. Excellent drinks. Excellent service. The Sri Lankan crab fries are amazing, all the dishes we ordered were really tasty and a bit different to the norm. I also had the old fashioned which was one of their brewery’s bottled mixes and it was so good I brought a bottle. Good tunes on as well! We’ve been twice this holiday, once last time and it is definitely a must if going to st Ives!!

My partner and I were in St Ives for 2 days to celebrate a birthday, and we had lunch here both days. The taste of the food is exquisite, the fish curry is light yet so flavoursome, the chips are to die for. High recommend visiting, and we will return on our next visit to St Ives.

It is not often I write a review but this night out was amazing Don’t be fooled by the simple setting Our waitress hit that sweet spot of being attentive and welcoming and passionate about the restaurant and its food and ethos without interrupting our girls night out . The food was totally amazing Simple food at a new level We shared starters and small plates and it was simply a wonderful wonderful feast A true hidden gem I haven’t even mentioned the cocktails which were also fabulous What a gem 10/10 from all 4 of us

I love places that have a short confident menu like this one. It was a friendly laid back welcome as we selected a few dishes to share around. There was no way any of us could pick a winner from the gorgeous selection, great assembly of ingredients and genuinely genius cooking. Excellent local beer complimented the food. This has to be one of the finest places to eat in the South West - we were amazed. They I think miss a trick by seemingly not putting the food to the fore on first glance - it was clear most were seeing this as a place for wine, beer or a coffee. Honestly, we could not fault the wonderful food and we will be back next year - just fabulous.

We struggled to find anywhere serving gluten free food and passed here thinking they wouldn’t be able to accommodate us. There was a small gf choice however enough to choose from. My husband and I aren’t gf so had the pick of the menu. We can definitely recommend the mackerel, katsu chicken and halloumi…..all absolutely delicious. The gins were served beautifully and our whole experience was exceptional. Will definitely go back.
