The Seafood Bar in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Brilliant little bar with delicious seafood plates. The staff were excellent and the food was great. They also have a great selection of different beers to try. We had several dishes and it was all delicious. I would definitely come back again. It was also dog friendly.

Really lovely place but for what it is it is extremely expensive. The food taste great. The atmosphere is lovely but for what you get this is a very expensive meal out especially if you have normal to above normal appetite.

The food is absolutely freshly prepared and amazing!!! A clear tip! A little inconspicuous from the outside, the small restaurant immediately exudes an absolutely unmistakable character when you enter!

Excellent food, and service at this brilliant seafood bar. They were amazing at catering for my allergies too (I’m dairy and gluten intolerant) and the beverage selection was really great. The food was so good we had to come back a second time. Love love love this place.

Very small place and nicely decorated with really friendly staff. Good selection of drinks, food is nice but the portion of crab that came with the crab topped fries was disappointing considering the price.

Really great atmosphere and lovely staff. Had crab loaded fries, scallops and oysters - all delicious. Service was great.

Had been wanting to try here for ages, especially being a big Verdant fan boy, however can’t help but feel disappointed. The beers, as always from Verdant, were on point and were fresh and hoppy (had Track & Field, It’s Pronounced Verdant and Alas, I was No Swimmer). The food was okay but nothing special (Fish Finger Sandwiches, Crab Loaded Fries, Monk Fish) but the service and the ambiance let it down. Waiting ages to get served, felt like you were interrupting the server just to order another drink and felt rushed to get out to make space for others. Very disappointed wouldn’t go back.

Loved it. Tasty quality food, outstanding beer with top draw hospitality from a sociable team. Looking forward to eating here again soon

We went in for Oysters (which were 12/10) and a beer, could not have been happier with our choice to go here. Service is incredible, the verdant beers on offer are amazing and the food is absolutely next level. New favourite spot in Falmouth and we will be making a return trip just to have a full sit-down meal here!

Absolutely amazing and would go again! The food was exceptional, we had the scallops, prawns, cauliflower, oyster, crab loaded chips and each dish was full of flavour and with great ingredients cooked to an amazing quality. Also the atmosphere was warm, cosy and welcoming and the staff were super friendly too, definitely recommend!

1st visit and won't be our last. Lovely food, arrived piping hot, tapas style so need 2-3 dishes each depending on how hungry you are. Recommend fish finger sandwich, local oysters are excellent too. Some veggie options too. Dog friendly and excellent verdant brewery beers, can't wait to come back. It's walk in only, so you may have a short wait. But it's worth it

Went in for just drinks, and had a wonderful time. The vibe of the place was really relaxed and cosy, they had a great selection of beer, and incredibly welcoming staff who were more than happy to talk through the food and drink. All of their beers on tap were vegan, and if we hadn't had a reservation elsewhere we would have stayed for dinner because the food looked and smelled fantastic!

Fantastic little place. The food was delicious, not just the seafood but the sauces were clean the plate good. Really nice beers and a cozy atmosphere.

The crab fries are heaven on earth and the beer is very nice too. I just wish they took cash. I am not happy about all these new places that seem to only take card payments. Hopefully they will change their mind about the cashless thing, its such a shame.

Fantastic food. Small plates to suit all the family. Kids thought it was amazing as did we. Calamari and crab loaded chips were a big hit as was the kimchi.

This is a destination spot. It is reason enough by itself to go to Falmouth. A cute little seafood bar with incredible food and welcoming staff by the sea. The vibe from the start with the porthole in the door sets you up for the whole experience as you step in to a hug, (yes) of a dining experience. It's a cosy, snug environment with exceptional beers to partner alongside freshly prepared tapas style seafood dishes. The shellfish on offer was fabulous and by the end of our visit I had tried most of it, if I'd had room I'd have gone on. Everything we ordered was bursting with flavour and was a delight to eat. We devoured (deep breath) oysters, scallops buffalo prawns, karaage mushrooms and the best fish finger sandwich in the UK, possibly the world. And there was a cute little amuse bouche on arrival as well. The staff are friendly and attentive, knowledgeable about everything on offer food or drink wise and given that this is an arm of the excellent Verdant brewery, you'd expect nothing less I suppose. This was the highlight of our trip and I'm planning on returning again soon.

Small very hip micro brewery with fresh seafood on tapas style small plates. The house beers are a selection of IPAs and pale ales on draught with a good selection of bottled beers etc. The small plates were freshly cooked 2 to 3 are recommended per person. We had fresh Fal oysters, buffalo prawns with creamed corn and blue cheese, panko hake with katsu curry sauce, crab loaded chips, winter veg with nut crumb and the fish finger sandwich. Universally great food. Excellent fresh ingredients and well thought out dishes. Tasty, imaginative and generous. Service was quick and friendly. Music was played in the background but not intrusive. No booking allowed, just walk in and try your luck. I had a bottled Belgian wheat beer, Very good. Highly recommended.

Down a narrow side street a stone's throw from the Ferry Jetty, a small cosy atmospheric place with thick granite walls like an old mariners' tavern and exuding great warmth inside. Good food and good range of beers. If I am being harsh one or two dishes could have a little more finesse, but overall highly recommended.

If you have a spare kidney and no money, sell it and have lunch or dinner here. Small plates are delicious, matched by a wonderful range of craft beers. A total surprise and great find. My mouth loves me!

Just absolutely excellent. Went as a solo diner and was sat at the bar, which was perfect. Watched loads of covers and they all looked delicious, ordered one at a time in between necking (almost) a third of every tasty beer on the menu and ALL the food was fantastic. This place exceeded expectation (which was already pretty high). A big thank you to my amiable hosts who were friendly, accomodating and let me be party to a little craic. I had such a great evening. I cannot recommend this place highly enough, and if you're travelling solo, definitely sit at the bar. Was not sure if I'd ever visit Falmouth again after ticking it off my list, but after this evening I'd have no hesitation in having a repeat visit.

Great vibes, great food, great beer and great staff. What isn't there to like about it! The crab loaded chips are incredible. The chips alone are fantastic, but add good crab and bursts of piquancy from fried capers and they are elevated to a sublime level. Everything we chose from the small plates menu was good. The fish pie special was a master class in comfort food and perfectly sized for 2 to share.

Verdant is my favourite brewery and paired with the amazing seafood bar - what more could you ask for!! I love that they do third of pints so you can try lots of different ones! And I love the quirky and cosy space that you get to enjoy this in! Plus the seafood is the perfect pairing - we had the taramasalata which was incredible, the fish tacos, the crab loaded fries (I have to admit the only complaint is that there wasn’t a lot of crab on the fries) but all in all I will certainly be going back! Fantastic service too :)

The most amazing tiny bar bistro. Best Ale I have ever had and great inventive food. The staff are wonderful, could of eaten and drank here all week.

So much more than seafood. An impressive selection of locally brewed craft beers from Verdant Brewery and an outstanding menu that includes a crab-loaded fries option you have to taste to believe. The 1/3rd beer servings are perfect for creating your own tasting flight - and we took full advantage sampling 6 of the 9 beers available. There is a lot on offer in a tourist centric town like Falmouth, but if you're after a truly exceptional world-class gastronomic experience, look no further. You need to visit The Verdant Seafood Bar.

Such a nice and cosy atmosphere, the food and drinks are always changing which means you can always try something new. Works like a tapas sort of place, lots of small dishes and you can just keep ordering! Definitely worth going to, especially for the fish finger sandwich!😍

Great place, well worth looking for. It can get busy but that just shows you how good it is. The small plates are perfect alongside the beer.

Don’t arrive after 21:30 of you’re looking for food. Even if their website says they serve food until 22:00, they cut orders at 21:30. So we just stayed for beers (Verdant is one of the best UK breweries, famous for their hop-forward hazy beers) on our first visit. Got back the next day to try the food. It’s a small plate menu, which my wife and I really enjoy. 3 dishes per person suggested. Go for the daily specials. The only disappointment was the salad, which had a few leaves, some radishes, and a vinaigrette, which was tasty but not what you’d expect in a restaurant, in my opinion. The tortilla used for the tacos could be better, but that’s just a Mexican’s burden, so do try the fish tacos.

A great find! Small but perfectly formed. Loved the service, the food and the beer. Would 100% revisit if we're in the area. Thank you for the oyster eating recommendation too.

Great atmosfere in this tiny & lovely seafood bar. We enjoyed some fish tacos, scallops with mango and crab loaded chips but the reason why we came here was Beer! Verdant is an istitution, one of the best beer ever had. Super friendly staff.

We visited twice whilst on holiday in Falmouth, and loved it both times. The small plates are a great idea, it was good to graze whilst enjoying the selection of beers. Our favourites were crab loaded chips, fish tacos and the fish finger butty was superb. Friendly service from a nice team also. See you next time.

Great food, really cosy and intimate atmosphere. We really enjoyed the kimchi fritters and fish tacos. Plus the oysters were the biggest we had ever seen! Good service and obviously an excellent selection of beers.

What can I say? Words don’t do it justice. Verdant Seafood Bar is amazing. Don’t miss it!! Amazing food, lovely service and of course awesome verdant beers!

We came here twice, the first time they weren't serving food as we had come between sittings, so just had a quick drink. Food is 12-15:00 and then 17:00 onwards. The bar is much smaller than I thought it was going to be (about 20 seats), so when it became busy it was very easy to over hear other people's conversations, and you could be seated quite close together, so don't go for an intimate chat if you don't want the restaurant to know. The food was good but is all small plates. If you're going for a main meal be prepared to buy about 2/3 plates per person. The beer is great as you'd expect from verdant and has their beers on tap and the service was friendly and welcoming.

Lovely little place - well worth visiting for drink and a nibble. As expected a great selection of beers to choose from. The food though is outstanding - super fresh fish tacos and the crab fries were a big hit.

Their brewing is the best I’ve ever had in the UK. Extremely fresh and full flavour. The small dish is literally small but worthy to try because all of them are fresh and special. Liked it very much.

Top marks for the beers. Lovely and varied selection of beers. The food was good and is done in tapas style. So are small portions and will need to order a few to feel satisfied. It's a really popular place and has limited seating so recommend coming down early as it's walk-in only.

Went there at the invite of some friends made very welcome by the staff and found the atmosphere food and drinks 1st class. I would definitely go there again.

Can I give 6 stars?! If you’re in Falmouth, and like seafood (decent vegetarian options too), and beer, go. Just go. Insanely good seafood, so fresh and delicious and creative without being ‘challenging’. Amazing beer. Lovely service. Dog friendly. Central Falmouth. Can’t think of anything more to recommend it. Go go go. Hope to go back again before we leave.

We had dinner here, and really enjoyed ourselves. The food and the beers are super tasty. Great atmosphere, lovely staff.

After visiting Verdant Brewery the day before when we arrived here I was initially disappointed it seemed somewhat unsophisticated by comparison.. two rooms which could probably seat about 25-30 folks maximum. On our arrival it was busy and we could only be seated as others were leaving.. there was a selection of Verdant ales on draught.. and we were given the seafood menu which consisted of several small plates and also directed to the sign on the wall regarding the special also available. We settled in for a stay as it was raining heavily outside.. we ordered about 8 of the seafood plates between the four of us to share very much like tapas. The food was excellent and delicious, served quickly by the solo bar staff. All in all a very enjoyable experience and despite my initial misgivings on the decor etc.. was quite impressed. Would return again if we visit Falmouth

Food here was really nice. Came here for lunch and they did a small plates offering. Great for sharing with friends as you get to try a bit of everything!! We ordered the fish tacos, scallops, and crispy monkfish (although forget to get a pic of this because I was so hungry!!). Highly recommend this little spot. The craft beers were also delicious- recommend Random Rules

Excellent food served well, with great beer to go with it. Only small plates, 2 per person was enough though. Verdant on tap is great but the bottle fridge is sour beer only. No reservations and quite popular so you might need to arrive early or wait a while.

The food was exceptional and the vibe was bustling and very cool. We loved it. It's a definite hot-spot with only walk-ins so if you want to visit I would recommend popping in regularly until a table becomes available.

Such a lovely experience. Great sellection of small plates with creative flavor profiles while still satisfying that craving for comfort food. Beer selection is amazing as well. I will be going to the brewery for sure.

Truly exceptional food and service. It is a cozy hole-in-the-wall spot, beautifully designed inside. Super inviting and cozy booths. We stopped in for lunch and sampled 4 of the beers they had on tap. Our server was super knowledgeable and helped walk us through the must have menu items. We ordered the oysters and monkfish karage to start. The monkfish was the daily special and it was amazing, super flavourful, well seasoned, perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Based on recommendations we got the fish tacos next, really crispy and packed with bright flavours. And finally we got the crab loaded chips, our highlight of the day. Loads of crab, perfectly seasoned, generous toppings, 10/10! Great spot for a cozy date, or meal out with friends. We will be back for sure!
