This place has always been my go-to local fish and chips shop! Great portions and great value! Highly recommend 👌🏻

Best fish and chips ever and so was the mushy peas

We always phone our order in as Francines gets busy and as fish is cooked to order you can have quite a wait. Fish is always a large fillet, chips are always non-greasy even with the switch to New potatoes. Portion sizes are huge. We also order the fried chicken with the pieces being twice the size of others. (Fried chicken rather than fried chicks!). Prices have risen but fish and chips still offers fantastic value for money when compared to other takeaways.

Everytime I go they ask if I would like salt and vinegar and then not give me any! Pretty simple especially when the staffs at the counter standing there like zombies doing nothing!

We visited Francine's whilst on holiday in Launceston. I had haddock and chips. The fish was delicious, well cooked and the batter was crispy. It was busy for a Wednesday night but it was probably because it was the school holidays

Food is great, the service is fast

The cod was delicious however, the chips and the batter were a sloppy greasy mess that we couldn't eat. Visited 26/7/24

We have been coming here for fish n chips for years, still amazing quality and good value for money. Portion sizes are still generous. We phone or order through so we don't have to wait too long but always cooked to order so we don't mind a short wait for fresh food. Thanks Again. Updated July 2024. Portion sizes are still generous, small cod is not much difference in size as the regular cod. Still great

The best fish and chips locally and probably for many miles. They cook the fish fresh from the moment you order it, indeed you will be waiting 10minutes but safe in the knowledge that you will be leaving with a freshly cooked fish and chips every time. The shop could do with a little refurbishment but at the moment it doesn’t seem to affect the quality.

Been here a few times now this chips are awful gave them benefit of doubt but poor every time and expensive how can you run a chip shop and not have decent chips some raw some brown not good

Delicious food and reasonably priced! Two jumbo sausages (battered) large chips and a large curry sauce was only £11.20 - cheaper than our local back home. Very friendly staff, card or cash! Good portion sizes and delicious what more could you want? Would definitely recommend for a spot of lunch or tea! There is no parking here but there is a car park basically opposite which is really easy to get to. Weekdays 30 minutes is free on weekends its 50p, 1 hour is 90p for weekdays and £1 for weekends. Lots of space, you can pay by card, cash or app.

I am from Yorkshire, now living in Cornwall. Yorkshire fish and chips are the best anywhere, but Francine's run them very close. Fantastic fish and chips and the best I have had since moving down here, but be aware - the portions are huge!!!

Consistently the best fish and chips. I usually have haddock and chips. The chips are plentiful and the fish is cooked to perfection with a tasty, crisp batter.

Excellent fish and chips, freshly cooked and delicious, reasonably priced. You park in the carpark opposite.

Had fish and chips from here on Saturday the 30th March, and the fish was lovely, but the chips were dry and scraggy, so awful really, had to throw them away. Hopefully next time we go there chips will be better. But overall would recommend.

Brilliant sized portions and delicious food! Popped in on the off-chance during a long drive and was really pleased. We had a cod and chips with curry sauce. All was delicious! Will definitely return.

Honestly, greasy undercooked chips. If you run a fish and chip shop, you gotta make sure that the one thing you are selling above all else is cooked properly. Undercooked and dripping in grease / fat isn't good

Best chippy ive come accross .the oil they use doesnt cause me acid like other chippies.

As tourist visitors here didn't realise as sat nav takes you down what's supposed to be a one way road down hill there's a car park on right just before chip shop on left.advise telephone order in advance as gets busy especially Fridays...wish we'd shared fish supper as portions are really big...but we managed..chicken and chips was nice though not much meat..haddock was massive..too many chips but still well cooked ....recommended!

We live a good 10 - 15 minutes away and the food is always still piping hot when we get it home. The portions are extremely generous.

Very good chippy, very busy but with very fast service once the order was taken. You may have a long wait to get your order in but they're quite speedy. Food is amazing, fish was really good. Chips were good. Recommended.

My son and his girlfriend and myself purchased fish and chips from this establishment -- and I have to say the fish was big and top quality along with the chips -- yes if I am ever in this area again holidaying or passing through I shall call in again --there is a carpark opposite as the chip shop is on a hill the carpark is on a plateau with disabled parking and the entranced is ramped for access but yes the take away not eat in food shop does nice tasting food at reasonable prices👍👍

We were ordering for 5 people, and we didn't have to wait long. They have a good system for waiting, and the food was assembled quickly. We had a 15 minute drive home and the food was still hot and fresh by the time we arrived. Really good mushy peas and curry sauce!

Ordered take away from here whilst on holiday. The food was absolutely perfect. Lovely food at a decent price. Nice friendly staff and will definitely order from here again when I’m back here next year!

We just moved to the area and several people recommended Francine's to us. They were right. Phoned order through evening before as guessed it would be busy Friday evening 6pm. There were 5 of us adults. Ordered 4 cod, 1 chicken leg, 2 large chips and 1 small chips and 1 curry sauce. The cod was huge!! 2 of us couldn't finish their fish. We really only needed 1 large and 1 small chips. The portions are huge. Staff all very friendly. It was really busy and jk wonder. Will be back!!

Good fish and chips but my haddock was too big to finish and a tad dry.The cod pieces were nice,chips and mushy peas spot on.

We had dinner from here on Friday whilst on holiday in the area, really lovely fish and chips was impressed, portions really large, we are big eaters but could of really just shared 1 large chips between 2 of us they was massive! Would highly recommend & will use again if we come back.

Popped in for fish and chips as it’s next to the car park, very glad we did. Cracking fish and chips! And more than we could eat! Perhaps not the cheapest place in town but my god I doubt if there’s a better one. Go for it folks - you’ll be glad you did! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

When on holiday it's usually hard to find a fish and chip shop thats as good as the one at home but not this time 👍 Francine's has great parking , the staff were fast and efficient but most of all the fish and chips were great , the Cod was big with nice batter and there were more than enough chips 👌 Thank you guys 👏

Decided to try this chippy as I had heard it was really good, could not believe how good it was, absolutely delicious, huge portion and this was the best fish and chips we have had for years! We normally go to the one in Bude but this was superb. You can tell it is a family run business and the care taken into the food was obvious. It wasn't greasy like some chippys are. Couldn't eat it all! will definitely be coming back this will now be our regular chippy, strongly recommend a visit!

Excellent fish and chips. Fish is lightly battered and the portion of chips was huge. They fry in plant-base, responsiby-sourced oil which hugely improves the flavour. Highly recommended if you're in Launceston 👍🏼👍🏼

Well organised. Didn't have to wait long even though it was busy. No vegan options (except the chips) but vegetarian available.

This is a very good take away, portions are good fish is always tasty. During the pandemic staff have all worn masks, they have partitions up in front of the staff, you go in to order and then wait outside till your order is ready. I always pop in if I am passing Launceston, never been disappointed.

Have been using this chippy for the last couple of years and love it!! Portions are huge and very reasonably priced. Always very busy but they have a good system in place meaning you rarely have to wait too long.

Grabbed sausage and chips last night before doing a night shift! Sorry to say the chips were awful, didn't even eat quarter of them 🤢

Quick order or a phone up prior, always get done very well. Good pricing, good team. Will be a consistent customer for a long time.

Best fish and chips in this part of Cornwall! We travel in from Devon for them. Always busy, which is always a good sign!

Last couple of times we have had fish and chips from Francines we have all been left disappointed, chips are hard and fish is pretty uninspiring. Not sure what’s happened in the last year but it’s massively gone down hill, unfortunately this will be our last visit to Francines due to the quality of food gone down.

Phoned an order through at 17.45 and asked to collect it at 19.00. I was given an order number over the phone and told to pay on arrival. When I arrived there were 4/5 people waiting outside but I was able to go straight to the till to pay. I was asked if I wanted salt and pepper on my order, then I went outside to wait with the others. Within a couple of minutes my order number was called (ahead of all the others who were waiting) I went back inside and was asked if I wanted a bag to carry my order (no charge). Food was piping hot, very fresh and huge portions!! Our go to chippy...love it!!
