Absolutely loved this place. Stayed at the Signal Station and walked over on 3 different nights for dinner. Ate in the terrace restaurant each time and honestly was shocked at how good the food was. The quality was incredible. I can’t recommend this place enough.

Superb experience, great value for a tasting menu. If you’re hungry go for the full menu. Dear management, Alexander is a credit to the restaurant, attentive, polite and knowledgable. Give the boy a pay rise, you’ll regret losing him!

Delicious food in the most incredible setting- we watched the dolphins whilst each course of our tasting menu came out and surprised us with how delicate it was. Very reasonably priced wine pairings too

Really fantastic, delicate, seasonal food in a stunning room with spectacular sea views. Clearly a really thoughtful chef. We had the Short Menu and the portion sizes were perfect. And great service from our young waiter. A restaurant which is very attentive and caring of dietary needs - delicious alternatives prepared for gluten-free eaters, for example. Definitely worth the trip down to the Lizard. Highly recommended.

This fine dining offering at Housel Bay is located in a beautifully appointed dining room overlooking the Lizard point and lighthouse, with an open kitchen to the rear. The food is superb, certainly deserving of it’s recent recognition with three AA rosettes and mention in the Michelin guide - surely to be elevated in the near future! We booked the five-course although on arrival couldn’t resist indulging in the seven courses, as the sun set in the distance. Wine flight offered or individually at £10 per glass - all well matched and reasonably priced. Service by Alex was unobtrusive and attentive. The only drawback is that the restaurant was so quiet, which stifled the atmosphere a little. That said, I’m betting it won’t be long before you can’t get a table for weeks…

Absolute perfection, delicious food, especially impressed by the personalised menus taking into account my hatred of fish and my husband's gluten allergy. Immaculate service from the waiter. Very good value for the level of food artistry.

Ate here with friends in early December on a Friday evening having booked in advance. The food was outstanding and I cannot understand why Fallowfields does not have a Michelin *. I have not eaten better food anywhere. We had the Full Taster Menu starting with a plate of amuses bouches to get the tastebuds fired up. Walnut and prune brioche with whipped butter. Cured sea bass with celeriac and kelp broth and Jerusalem artichoke. Fowey scallop with crown prince pumpkin, candied seeds. Wild mushrooms with roasted garlic, mascarpone cappelletti, autumn truffle. Venison loin, beetroot, cavalo nero, black pudding and salsify. Roasted pear with Helford blue ice cream and watercress. Blackberry with lime leaf, meringue and apple. Honey pannacotta, honey cake and apricot with Sauternes. Everything was fabulous. Hats off to the chef Joseph Fallowfield. Please, please if you do get a Michelin *.........don't leave! Front of house team were lovely as well with just the right amount of banter. We will be back just as soon as we can.

The Fallowfield's Restaurant, located inside The Housel Bay Hotel, offers a fantastic Taster menu, based on seasonal and local food. We have eaten here four times now and each time has been superb, how Chef Joseph Fallowfield and his team haven't been awarded a Michelin star (yet!) is a mystery! From 'to die for' pork belly squares, to scallops, to homemade breads, to crab poppadom's, it was all excellent. In our group we had gluten, garlic and dairy allergies and pescatarians, so special thanks for adjusting the menu to suit our party. Waiter Ben was excellent at his job and very personable. Would highly recommend a visit to Fallowfields.

We came for the 7 course taster menu and was blown away! For £70 we found it very reasonable for such a high standard of food! The fillet steak and vodka cured brill I'm still thinking about three days later, which means we will most certainly be back! You can tell these guys really care about what they do and as a local to the area this is refreshing to see! All the best Sean and Fern x

If you're looking for a tasty alternative to culinary monotony in Cornwall, you've come to the right place. For a menu restaurant at around 70 pounds for six dishes, it's actually quite cheap. Very friendly young waiter!

We had the most stunning meal here a few weeks ago. We had previously visited back in 2020 and still talked about certain courses that we had and we couldn't wait to come back. This time, it was even better - each and every thing we ate looked and tasted beautiful, and at £65 for 8 courses and with a breathtaking view I don't know how it wasn't packed to the rafters. We overheard another couple who was dining at the same time ask to see the chef as they too were so impressed, and they also said it was the best food they had eaten in the whole of Cornwall (including Mullion Cove Hotel which apparently they had felt disappointed in). Fallowfield is truly a hidden gem and the Head Chef, Joseph Fallowfield, deserves a huge amount of respect for what he is striving to achieve here.

We had dinner here last night, sampling the tasting menu. Everything was superb. The chef came out and explained every dish and happily answered any questions. He was charming and the food was delicious. Clearly he and his staff put a lot of creativity and passion into their cooking . Highly recommended if you are in the area.

We did not stay in the hotel so cannot comment on that. We went for a meal only as the hotel looked gorgeous on the website and advertised Fallowfields Restaurant. The waitresses were pleasant, but the food was not!! Starters were mediocre in taste and quality the foccacia bread was burnt and one of the bowls was very hot, infact dangerously hot!!! The main course, we ordered was crab, scallop and cod tagliatelle. They had ran out of scallops so offered extra crab. When it arrived, the whole dish was luke warm so it was sent back! On return we tasted it but it was just above luke warm but had no taste whatsoever. Very disappointed so sent it back stating we wanted to now pay the bill, without the charge of the main course. A real shame as we thought of booking the hotel for our honeymoon.

This was the second time we have eaten at the Fallowfields. Last time we had the tasting menu, this time the 2 course set menu. Both times its been exceptional. It's got all the nice little touches of a true fine dining restaurant.

We went to Fallowfields with friends to celebrate two 60th birthdays. We all went for the tasting menu. We all agreed that the meal and service were perfect and it was one of the best meals any of us had ever had - anywhere in the world. We also stayed over in Panoramic seaview rooms, with fantastic views of the sea and cliffs. A brilliant experience, we'll be back soon!

What a suprise this was - every course you could tell was cooked and plated by chefs who really care! In fact I would go so far to say the food was incredible ! Having eaten at tonnes of Michelin stared restaurants every course from appetiser to dessert was on par if not better than some I have eaten at. Only let down by one member of staff who served the drinks in particular serving wine - 50 pound bottles uncorked out of sight at the bar and literally just plonked on the the table😂 like you were at a Wetherspoons!!! That aside easily the best restaurant for miles - just be aware Fallowfields restaurant is a different menu to the hotel terrace restaurant and bar! Albeit from the same kitchen!

We were staying in Mullion and struggling to find a restaurant for my husbands Birthday that we fancied and then spotted this place … and I’m glad we did! The food - I couldn’t fault the food. We’re luckily to have eaten at many Michelin restaurants and the quality and style rivalled these. Every course was very different to the last but equally delicious. The chef although young, definitely knows what he’s doing! The service - the staff seemed a little stretched having to do both restaurants and there was a notice about staffing issues which let the experience down as a whole, however they were lovely and there wasn’t anything particularly wrong - just didn’t match the quality of the food. The ambience - I think the restaurant could have had some background music but I enjoyed the banter from the chefs in the open kitchen ! I was surprised there was only one other table eating in there with us although lots of people in the next door “Terrace” restaurant that the chefs were also cooking for. Overall I highly recommend this restaurant for the delicious food.

We were hoping this would be good. We weren't expecting it to be one of the best meals we've ever shared together. We ate the tasting menu and were blown away by the twists and turns - usually something disappoints on a tasting menu but every single item was perfect. A gorgeous journey through Cornish produce with subtle hints of Japanese influences but not once pretentious or showy-off. The hotel itself is a gem, but the space devoted to Fallowfields is simple, clean and doesn't distract from the excellent food. We ate out of season, but the restaurant was full of dining couples - sadly we couldn't enjoy the view as it was too dark. I cannot believe that something this good is tucked away on the Lizard Peninsula.

Fallowfields restaurant has been built around a new sensation in Cornwall. Namely the brilliant young chef Joseph Fallowfield. There are plans to further upgrade his kitchens at the hotel and it is only a matter of time before this young man has achieved Michelin standards. I am absolutely certain you will not find a more thoughtful and brilliant newcomer to the world of culinary excellence. He shows great balance, understanding and technical aptitude with his ingredients. Every single course, each day we ate at Fallowfields made us say " That was the best I ever tasted". For example, pheasant vol au vent, roasted hake, dark chocolate fondant - all perfectly produced. Well done Joseph - can't wait to come back.

Rather disappointed with our pre booked afternoon tea. Presentation dull, choice of cakes poor and scones overbaked and stale. The waiter and waitress were pleasant and offered to give us a alternative to the scones but we declined. The picture I submitted has had most of what we ate removed. The scones were put on a separate plate.

We ate in Fallowfields over two nights and the food was delicious. The menu is short - but as 50% of the offerings were fish based (which we love) we were well catered for. The 2 amuse bouche offerings were delightful before the starters were served (crab tart and scallops were our orders) followed by a baked cod dish and a monkfish dish for mains. We thought the £35 per head for two courses was excellent value for this standard of food...........our only negative comment was that the different chef on our second night did not serve up to the same quality as the guy on our first night and the food was not quite as good second time around However, this is a place we loved and would thoroughly recommend

We been here before, pre current owners, and had a fabulous time. As we haven't been down to this part of Cornwall for years, we thought we give it another go, and I must say we loved it again. The ambience of the restaurant was great, and the simple but tasteful furnishings were a prefect setting. Service was excellent, quick and attentive. Liked the touch when we sat down and whilst choosing our food, they asked if we had any food allergies, so it was obviously that the chefs could tailor the food around you based on the menu. Luckily we didn't have any allergies. We opted for the 3 courses, each having a different dish to the other (to taste and compare each other dishes). Each dish was beautifully and delicately presented, and even though the portions are not big, they definitely filled us up. The chefs represented us with a venison pre-starter, which went down a treat with the warm bread and whipped butter. My personally favourite of the meal (and I don't generally have a sweet tooth) was the yogurt and vanilla pannacotta, which with the crumbled gingerbread and pistachio, well, I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Had I room in my tum, I would gladly paid to have another one ! My husband adored the Sourdough Crumpet starter. A table of two opposite us, they were having the taster menu paired with wines. My god, I am not sure how we would have got through what they were having, but they seemed to be enjoying themselves. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. The restaurant and the terrace restaurant was full by the time we left (we arrived at 6pm and I think we left around 7:30pm ish). We definitely come again when we next down visiting the area.

The food here is actually exceptional. Even something as plain as a fillet steak had incredible detail and depth - the ham hock starter was just as lovely. I cannot recommend this chef enough. The food brought a welcome reminder of what the world was like pre pandemic when we used to find hidden gems who presented us something new and interesting and made food that is worth taking about. Great value too. A highlight of our holiday to the area and comparable to any 5* London restaurant we are used to. Thank you.

The food was spectacular. Had one of the best meals I've ever had - my starter (the cured brill) was particularly amazing. The service wasn't quite up to the same standard, there seemed to only be 2 serving staff dealing with the Fallowfields and the more casual sister restaurant. However, if they nail the service, this place would be one of the best restaurants to eat in the UK. Hope they can make it happen!

We've tried a lot of fish and chip takeaways in Falmouth and The Gem is consistently the best. We've had Haddock and Cod, both are fresh and cooked in light, crispy batter that doesn't go at all soggy by the time you get home. Chips taste fresh and crispy and not at all greasy. Mushy peas are lovely, thick and not runny so exactly how they should be. Lovely staff, always very friendly and happy.
