We were made very welcome on arrival at The Royal Oak for our one night stay. The private room, with en-suite was tastefully furnished, clean and very comfortable with welcome complimentary coffee, teas and biscuits. Even our cocker poo was given bedding, water bowl, dog toilet bags and dog biscuits - which went down very well. He even had a safe garden area to run in. A great garden with great views to enjoy sitting in with an evening drink. Very good value and would definitely stay there again. Thank you.

I stayed over night in one of the little rooms and it was perfect for what I needed, very basic but comfortable, clean and private. The only problem was the TV is so small I could barely see from the bed especially as it was at such a high angle. Overall I had a lovely stay and would definitely return. Thank you!

Lovely warm welcome and nice, comfortable room with lots of thoughtful touches. The views from the garden are beautiful and it was great to have a cordoned off area for the dog to be off lead. Rudy thoroughly enjoyed playing with Ferdy, the owner’s dog!

Great reception and a lovely evening meal. Room was clean and dog friendly. They even left us a bed, treats and towel for our pooch. Breakfast was also great. We had a full English.

We came down from Twickenham so our daughter could check out Exeter Uni. What a lovely inn, in such a quiet beautiful little town. Daisies everywhere, thatched roofs, birds singing. The royal oak was great, lovely cosy rooms, great dinner, lovely breakfast. Friendly staff and friendly locals.

Only called in for lunch. Service was good for very good. The Royal Oak was very busy the time we were in, so its a good thing we had booked a table.

Went for lunch with my father (92) last month. Hardly anyone else in the pub, so pleasantly surprised by a very nice meal. Good selection of beers as well.

Venue is easy to get in and seating is not to bad, the comedy night was great in January, so we have already got tickets for February, the panto is sold out, but I have got my tickets already, there is a small bar that is very busy at the interval
