Ordered a Thai curry, waited an hour for it, then took one taste of it to find out the coconut milk was sour! Actually made me gag! £20 worth of food in the bin! Called the restaurant and was told the manager was off, he would call me the following day. Still waiting! If this doesn’t get sorted I will be contacting environmental health as I could’ve had food poisoning! 😥
We waited 20 minutes for starters had flat drinks waited another 15 for our order to be taken before we got fed up and left, worst Indian experience ever.
Really poor service today yet again.we was not given our full order was told to drive back around instead of them correcting there mistake.there is nothing fast food about this maccies.the attitude is really poor ,at times the food 8s cold or to salty.trust me go to tescos behind get a meal deal and its healthier
I don't often post negative reviews but this costa is rather gloomy and dark with no atmosphere. The tables were grubby and it just felt soulless. It was also half empty. My daughter and I went in as she wanted to buy our pet a puppuccino which the staff kindly gave to us.other than that I suggest you try another of the many other coffee shops in the High street of the picturesque little town.

first time using this restaurant. food was lovely, full of flavour. delivered on time and all boxes labelled with what meal it was. will definitely be ordering from here again
I have never left a bad review anywhere before but I feel absolutely awful coming out of this place. When we first walked in, there was a couple in front of us looking at the food and couldn’t make up their mind so they left. The man serving shook his head and mumbled at them. We gave our order and they got the food wrong, human mistake we thought nothing of it and just waited for the right order. The blond lady making the coffees asked us to move and wait by the door, which we did but we were blocking everyone leaving so moved back to the bar where the area was clear to wait for our food. She rudely said ‘ I asked you to stand by the door’ to which we said we were blocking the door. She then stormed off. We left once we got our food and saw her pointing at us and laughing with her dark haired colleague. Find this really aggressive behaviour and never experienced that in a coffee shop before. She was looking and laughing at us for a long time before we’d passed the windows. Because of this, we won’t be returning.
Walked in felt like I was being a pain just order drinks
Some customer service training is well needed here I’m afraid
Hot chocolate tasted like dishwater coffee was basic like made at home
We used to use this restaurant on a regular basis. Haven’t been in for a couple of months and visited today for lunch. Couldn’t believe how much it had deteriorated. It was freezing cold so went into separate area which was warmer. I understand now why it was empty at peak lunch time. Service is painfully slow, the meals are much smaller and pouring cream curdled in my americano. No longer offer deserts. Won’t be going back!!
Ordered two afternoon teas and a pizza. Pizza arrived with burnt edges. According to the menu, afternoon tea should have been sandwiches, scones and PASTRIES. What arrived was two inedible scones - rock hard, carrot cake with frozen topping, a warm scone placed next to a chocolate macaron so that the latter melted and a selection of sponge cakes. There was no cutlery, side plates nor napkins. We had to make a special request for these items. We were told they were not supplied because we had 'sat in the wrong place'. Not sure how we were meant to spread the cream and jam !
After about 40 minutes we finally reached agreement on a reduction on the bill. As we were leaving, one member of staff approached us again to try to justify the awful experience. We were joined by a 'manager' who was very rude and who threatened us with the police and to cancel my membership of over 15 years. At no time did we behave in any way other than appropriate, trying to point out that if an establishment is going to charge top end prices then it needs to have customer service to match. We suggested that it is not OK for a chef to allow burnt pizza to be served. It is not a good customer service model to base your standards on the customer's need to complain. If you want afternoon tea - look elsewhere.
Stopped here for lunch. Had a sausage, cheese and chutney panini and some chips, as part of a summer panini deal. However the chips served were thin, rather than thick as advertised on the offer poster and they were also really greasy.
The panini itself was also very greasy and did not taste nice. Also, the cafe provides sachets of different sauces but these are difficult to open and only contain a small amount of sauce leading to lots of litter and excess packaging. They should invest in bottles of sauces for the tables. I found the food to be overpriced and in no way reflective of the high end appearance the department store aims to achieve.
