Excellent the mcdonalds was a great place to stop of for dinner. Its in Sutton Scotney on the A34 southbound to Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. Because when we were coming back home from Cardiff i was hungry for Mcdonalds and the sign said Sutton scotney and the brand is Roadchef so bye now
Drinks/food were fine. Shame the staff can be quite rude and very incompetent. Probably won’t return to this store, Costa a 2 minute walk away is a lot more friendly and more affordable.
Advertising themselves as a sports bar/European cup showing pub with flags everywhere. Turned up with several friends to watch a game along with multiple people in the bar, no commentary on the game, only music!!! Several attempts to get the music turned down met by “we have to ask the landlord’s permission”!
Crap atmosphere & even worse management.
Won’t be going there again.
My husband and I called in for a drink and cake while on a shopping trip .
We ordered a tea , a coffee and two cookies .
The drinks were served in a paper cup and the two accessory stations in the cafe were out of use meaning that we had to go back to the entrance to get sugar etc . There were no napkins anywhere in sight. The cafe was very sparsely furnished and very uncomfortable. There was one chair in the back section where there should have been four . The cookie which I had chosen was as hard as metal , so much so that I could not bite it . I returned to the serving counter and complained , the assistant agreed that it was not edible and gave a refund . I mentioned that we couldn’t see any napkins and was told that the customer has to ask for one if required.
In all this was a very unacceptable experience . We will never return
Don't bother using these guys, the meals arrive late and some of the bits we ordered were wrong. When we called them about it we were offered a refund which didn't even cover the item that was not sent
This place is my favourite because all the staff are lovely and helpful, i go through the drive through at least once a day to get my one shot latte and sometimes with a friend i sit in and the latte is amazing
Came here with my mum and new born baby in a pram, we ordered food and coffees and was told to take a seat they will bring it over, we were not told to wait at the til for our coffees so assumed it will come with the food. The food arrived and we asked where our coffees were, to be rudely told well you’re supposed to wait for them… they’d been put on the counter far side and had been sat there for quite some time… bare in mind, our table was next to the til and could see we have a baby with us. The server who Brang us the food then retrieved our drinks from the other side of the cafe and was shaking them all over the place and leant over the pram spilling everywhere, we and the table next to us wash telling her to be careful and she got even more flappy and then just walked off. Good job baby wasn’t in the pram at the time!! Or he would be covered in hot chocolate. I now have to clean my pram.
A little bit of training in customer service wouldn’t go amiss here. Shocking. Won’t be back which is a shame as we enjoyed coming here.

We have been staying at the Solent for years and in the past have always loved it.
We have not been since lockdown, what a disappointment. It's gone really down hill, everything from the rooms , the staff and especially the food and drinks, awful. Won't be staying again.
Disappointed doesn't come close.
£20 for a packet of crisps, two COLD Toasties and two white Americano coffees (WITHOUT milk)...Had to ask for cutlery and napkins as well, not offered.
An almost authentic step-back in time to 1960's station buffets right down to over-priced awful coffee. The only thing missing is the fog of tobacco smoke! If you want to relive your youth, or see what you parents endured, this is a must. The building and decor are almost all vintage or antique, and you can look out on the steam trains.
