Just had my first and last visit to this Starbucks. Ordered two hot chocolates. The young girl making the drinks called my name and handed me one drink. I explained Iâd ordered two and this was met with a blank expression. I waited a few minutes while she made drinks for other people so asked her why I still only had one drink. This was met with an eye roll and she started to make my other hot chocolate whilst prioritising other peopleâs orders. She eventually plonked it down without an apology. I decided not to say anything but as I walked away she offered a very sarcastic âyouâre welcome.â Not a great customer experience

Advertising themselves as a sports bar/European cup showing pub with flags everywhere. Turned up with several friends to watch a game along with multiple people in the bar, no commentary on the game, only music!!! Several attempts to get the music turned down met by âwe have to ask the landlordâs permissionâ! Crap atmosphere & even worse management. Wonât be going there again.

My husband and I called in for a drink and cake while on a shopping trip . We ordered a tea , a coffee and two cookies . The drinks were served in a paper cup and the two accessory stations in the cafe were out of use meaning that we had to go back to the entrance to get sugar etc . There were no napkins anywhere in sight. The cafe was very sparsely furnished and very uncomfortable. There was one chair in the back section where there should have been four . The cookie which I had chosen was as hard as metal , so much so that I could not bite it . I returned to the serving counter and complained , the assistant agreed that it was not edible and gave a refund . I mentioned that we couldnât see any napkins and was told that the customer has to ask for one if required. In all this was a very unacceptable experience . We will never return

This place was a bit strange despite its lovely location. The food and coffee were fine, but it was served in cardboard takeaway containers even though we were dining in. The staff were nice but distracted by laughing and chatting with each other. We had to wait at the register for our food, carry it upstairs, get our own cutlery, and clear our table into the bins provided, which made it feel like a fast-food place rather than a café.

Don't bother using these guys, the meals arrive late and some of the bits we ordered were wrong. When we called them about it we were offered a refund which didn't even cover the item that was not sent

Came here with my mum and new born baby in a pram, we ordered food and coffees and was told to take a seat they will bring it over, we were not told to wait at the til for our coffees so assumed it will come with the food. The food arrived and we asked where our coffees were, to be rudely told well youâre supposed to wait for them⊠theyâd been put on the counter far side and had been sat there for quite some time⊠bare in mind, our table was next to the til and could see we have a baby with us. The server who Brang us the food then retrieved our drinks from the other side of the cafe and was shaking them all over the place and leant over the pram spilling everywhere, we and the table next to us wash telling her to be careful and she got even more flappy and then just walked off. Good job baby wasnât in the pram at the time!! Or he would be covered in hot chocolate. I now have to clean my pram. A little bit of training in customer service wouldnât go amiss here. Shocking. Wonât be back which is a shame as we enjoyed coming here.

We have been staying at the Solent for years and in the past have always loved it. We have not been since lockdown, what a disappointment. It's gone really down hill, everything from the rooms , the staff and especially the food and drinks, awful. Won't be staying again.

After months of giving it a go, we have finally given up on this place. The attraction was the spacious stylish venue, imaginative lunch/brunch menu, (some) pleasant if rather harassed staff, dog friendly and a pleasant location on a favourite Winchester riverside walk. Plus we could generally get a table, unlike lovely Greens that gets so busy on a weekend. During the week itâs reserved for tenants of the co-working space and in the early phase there was a lot of confusion about when/if it was open to the public, with inadequate signage and staff unable to communicate the arrangements clearly. After a bit, that got sorted out and it entered a golden age that lasted for a chunk of last year. Some great food (like the warm pear salad, bubble and squeak and wedges of pear cake) and better organisation. The place seemed better organised and the staff seemed less stressed. Alas it has now taken a real dive. Food quality dipped, items served soggy or burnt, shrinkflation apparent in the bakery items, the nice fresh cakes replaced with mass-produced tasting flapjacks. âLargeâ coffees that would be considered a regular size in most places. Overseen by a supervisor with patronising and officious manner who I saw shouting at a small child who dared venture onto an (unsigned) staircase leading to a private area.. At our last visit, the lunch menu was inexplicably unavailable at 1.30pm - only breakfast items. But we could see lunch dishes being served to a party on a nearby table. An allergy request was completely ignored and when we complained I was first offered a grudging âsorry-not-sorryâ by the sour-faced supervisor (sorry but not her fault that the server hadnât passed on the message). When I said that wasnât good enough, when youâre dealing with customersâ safety, I was then told off for being rude. So thatâs it for us, not going back. Feel sorry for the better servers, it must be a tough place to work.

An almost authentic step-back in time to 1960's station buffets right down to over-priced awful coffee. The only thing missing is the fog of tobacco smoke! If you want to relive your youth, or see what you parents endured, this is a must. The building and decor are almost all vintage or antique, and you can look out on the steam trains.
