We nearly didn't eat here because of reviews below. But we are so glad we did. Delicious food and wine. Well presented. Lovely staff.

We stayed here for three days two nights in September. I was surprised reading some of the other reviews as we had a great time. The spa treatments were particularly good. Oana is fantastic. All the staff we met were great and very attentive and we found the food very nice. I would agree that the service in the bar isn't great, we had to ask two or three times for our food and it came out in stages so we didn't all eat together but, apart from that, it was wonderful. Rooms were fine, cleaners work very hard and both rooms were very clean. Serving staff in the restaurant in the evenings were good and the service was very quick and polite. Would happily stay here again.

We decided to order a light meal at the bar following a lovely time in the spa. We ordered nacho’s and a panini. A little later what was meant to be a panini arrived as a greasy fried toasted sandwich with cheese. I questioned what it was and the bar tender was unsure, we sent it back and asked for our ordered mozerella and tomato panini. This later arrived as a hard toasted roll with a bit of tomato paste and melted cheese and tasted awful! Don’t even get me started on the nacho’s. These were deep fried, covered in a cold and runny cheese sauce, dolop of cream cheese and guacamole. Totally awful. The bar staff were understanding and gave a refund for the food we complained about. I am not sure who was cooking the bar food but the standard of food was the worst I have experienced. Don’t order the nacho’s!

Abysmal doesn’t begin to describe this hotel, mismatched dirty gin glasses, then no gin glasses then dirty wine glasses. Christmas dinner 11th December was the worst in my life, starter looked and tasted like frozen prawns on shrivelled lettuce. Rock hard sprouts unseasoned potatoes I could go on, certainly didn’t feel like a celebratory meal. Short staffed, rude staff, hot rooms miles from reception thick duvets too thick to sleep under. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Absolutely abysmal. I paid for a superior double room and got a dirty, pokey, twin bedded room. Minimum towels, no water. It was a Christmas party night. The reception staff took forever to check us in and then had a huge row at the front desk on show of the guests. We started the stay with a drink at the bar. Although afternoon tea was on the menu you had to book it 24 hours in advance so we had a steak baguette which came with fries. This was so/so! The price of the drinks at the bar was horrendously high. I had a gin and tonic served in a brandy glass whilst my husband had a gin glass. A friend wanted wine which was £9.85/glass and she had to request for it to be served in a wine glass. The party food was disgusting. 0/10. Husband had soup which was simply revolting. I had a prawn cocktail served on a dinner plate. Frozen, thawed prawns which were tasteless so seasoning just yuk! Turkey roast dinner had stuffing balls that tasted as thought they had not been mixed properly was like eating sawdust, cold, sprouts like bullets, potatoes no seasoning just tasteless. It was vile! I am about to check out in the morning and request a full refund something I have never done. I would not recommend this awful hotel to anyone I would stay in a travel lodge any day of the week!

Very disappointing. Food was ok but nothing special and service was terrible. We were forgotten and had to keep asking for things. A shame as we we had had a lovely spa day and had treated my parents to the tea. The setting was lovely too. Do go for a spa day but I wouldn’t bother again for the afternoon tea.

Do not eat at this hotel. The food is poor. Frozen food is cooked and served at breakfast and dinner. It is not what you deserve or expect in a 4 star hotel.

We booked this as a couples get away Spa package which unfortunately the Government put on hold as we were there. Not the hotels fault at all. Manor House - This is not open but no reference is made to this fact, all accommodation is provided in the modern part of the hotel. The rooms are clean / tidy and functional. We were there on the hottest day 31st July and initially given a room with no air con, we asked to change this and were given a room with air con but frankly, it was just like a fan, it did not cool the room and the whole night was very uncomfortable. The lowest the air con goes is 16 c , we travelled up by car and had the air con on at 17 c - this provided cold air. There was no comparison with the hotels air con. We dined in a converted meeting room, imagine a school gym with tables spread out meeting social distance guidelines. Breakfast small selection of cereals and juices along with paper cups for coffee which you dispensed from the coffee earns that everyone used by pressing the dispense button (not good). Hot food was by order and the selection was quite poor, I ordered cooked breakfast and white toast, it looked like it had been platted up hours before and left under a lamp. One slice of toast with butter portion on the toast. Not at all attractive. Vegetarian options were non existent. Disappointing stay, paid for two nights, we checked out after the 1st night. The staff we came into contact with were all very good, we have no issue with the staff.

Just Great Stayed at Norton Park over the weekend. We had been looking forward to it as it was the first break after lockdown. We had a fantastic time. Rosa and the staff were very good and professional. On Saturday we had a meal in the bar and the food was really good and so it was the Aperol Spritz.... thanks Rosa ;-) Breakfast on Sunday was again great, food was hot and a good variety of cereals and teas. We will definitely be back again once the spa opens.

I have been here at least 20 times over the last year. Friendly staff and nice food. Quick food and fairly cheap prices. I would recommend this place.

Abusive staff unwilling to assist when I had difficulty ordering at the kiosk. Argued that kiosk working well. I walked away. They obviously are not interested in customers. Later tried BK at Fleet Services - they could not have been more different. Friendly and helpful.

After months of giving it a go, we have finally given up on this place. The attraction was the spacious stylish venue, imaginative lunch/brunch menu, (some) pleasant if rather harassed staff, dog friendly and a pleasant location on a favourite Winchester riverside walk. Plus we could generally get a table, unlike lovely Greens that gets so busy on a weekend. During the week it’s reserved for tenants of the co-working space and in the early phase there was a lot of confusion about when/if it was open to the public, with inadequate signage and staff unable to communicate the arrangements clearly. After a bit, that got sorted out and it entered a golden age that lasted for a chunk of last year. Some great food (like the warm pear salad, bubble and squeak and wedges of pear cake) and better organisation. The place seemed better organised and the staff seemed less stressed. Alas it has now taken a real dive. Food quality dipped, items served soggy or burnt, shrinkflation apparent in the bakery items, the nice fresh cakes replaced with mass-produced tasting flapjacks. ‘Large’ coffees that would be considered a regular size in most places. Overseen by a supervisor with patronising and officious manner who I saw shouting at a small child who dared venture onto an (unsigned) staircase leading to a private area.. At our last visit, the lunch menu was inexplicably unavailable at 1.30pm - only breakfast items. But we could see lunch dishes being served to a party on a nearby table. An allergy request was completely ignored and when we complained I was first offered a grudging ‘sorry-not-sorry’ by the sour-faced supervisor (sorry but not her fault that the server hadn’t passed on the message). When I said that wasn’t good enough, when you’re dealing with customers’ safety, I was then told off for being rude. So that’s it for us, not going back. Feel sorry for the better servers, it must be a tough place to work.
