Came here with my mum and new born baby in a pram, we ordered food and coffees and was told to take a seat they will bring it over, we were not told to wait at the til for our coffees so assumed it will come with the food. The food arrived and we asked where our coffees were, to be rudely told well you’re supposed to wait for them… they’d been put on the counter far side and had been sat there for quite some time… bare in mind, our table was next to the til and could see we have a baby with us. The server who Brang us the food then retrieved our drinks from the other side of the cafe and was shaking them all over the place and leant over the pram spilling everywhere, we and the table next to us wash telling her to be careful and she got even more flappy and then just walked off. Good job baby wasn’t in the pram at the time!! Or he would be covered in hot chocolate. I now have to clean my pram. A little bit of training in customer service wouldn’t go amiss here. Shocking. Won’t be back which is a shame as we enjoyed coming here.

Hi there, On the 30th of September 2023, my partner and I visited your M&S Cafe in Whiteley. We decided to have breakfast here. When we ordered our food and drink we were given a number and sat down. After a while, and watching others have their drinks delivered, my partner walked over to a staff member called Mel, who was extremely rude and disrespectful. My partner politely asked where were our drinks and if we needed to wait for them? She snapped back, yes obviously, as that's what everyone else does. Being new to the area, and after watching others get their drinks, we were unaware of this. Mel never asked to have a look for them or replace them. She made my partner feel stupid and disrespected. I then walked over to the coffee making area and asked another member of Staff, Mark, about our drinks. Despite some hesitation, he did politely make us new ones and was helpful. However due to Mels behaviour towards my partner, I feel very upset and frustrated that we were treated like we were nothing

This is a fantastic place to go have a cuppa, some great food and nice surroundings looking out over Whiteley Village Shopping Centre. The cafe is clean, tidy and welcoming, and the staff are just lovely! We’ve been going there as ‘regulars’ for years and can’t recommend it enough. It’s fab for a quick (and comfortable) cuppa, and Niamh and her excellent and welcoming team are fab. Honestly, we’re in there 2 / 3 times a week, and we love it! The breakfast is great, and with the recent addition of eggs Benedict, it’s a winner… Defo give it a try; you’ll be pleasantly surprised…

Great cafe for a break in shopping for lunch or a snack. A good range of food and drinks available and service is reasonable. The scones with jam and clotted cream are delicious.

A reasonable place to stop when shopping. The scones are delicious. The bacon roll is good too. Service is intermittent and sometimes lacking and table clearing/cleaning is a bit lax at times.

This was getting very busy on eat out to help out days but they had a good system in place, for giving people a table number to sit at once they had ordered there food, they were cleaning down the tables in between customers. Food and drinks served direct to your table, good food nice and hot. Good prices as 50% off

I can never understand the mentality or disrespect for customers when staff seem to wilfully use stinking (disinfectants and/or bleach) cleaning fluids to clean tables when people are still eating on the tables next to them. Seems they just want people to leave so they can knock off early or stand around doing nothing! I expect better of M&S. The limited healthy options is also astounding for a company such as M&S. Come on management! Better training; better choice and better respect please!

M&S food has gone down in my estimation for the high price they charge. Tables weren't clear fast enough and had to wait to long at the cashies. Will not be going there again

Lunch was two coffees and toasted sandwiches. Long queue at order counter. Every table had dirty crockery left on the surface. Why no take your tray when finished as in IKEA or Sanisburys? Lots of other location in Whiteley to have had lunch but this was abysmal.Sandwiches not hot, not cooked property and cold. Dont go here, Costa, Cafe Nero, harvester looks so much warmer. Ceiling tiles missing in M&S and temperature very cold. Never Again Jeff

Came here as queue in Costa was out the door. Despite the coffee and latte being very good the service was not up to the standard you would expect from M&S - very slow and no service with a smile - not that busy either, so just pleased they weren’t too busy. The breakfasts coming out all looked good and tasty, had we had more time may have been tempted. Seating area also very clean with tables available to sit at without having to clear.

I have been to this cafe twice now. On both occasions the coffee was expensive and yet almost cold when served. Having been round to a lot of coffee shops in the area recently this is now one of my least favourite.

We always like this pub for food and that the costs are kept at a decent price. Always give you good size portions too. We have found staff always busy, the thing is you can’t tell if it’s a pub or a restaurant. Which is quite confusing, trying to do both and when you’re queuing you don’t know if it’s for food or just drinks. There is one lady there that is quite rude to people but we didn’t see her this time. But this lady will ruin this pub if she isn’t careful. But we do like the food here!

I have no idea why this is ranked so low down in the list of places to eat in Winchester. It is quite simply the best food with great service. The fish is always fresh and the burgers delicious. Our go to pub and we will be back very soon.

£26.50 for a day pass, although asked for £30 which includes donation. Our party was made up of 5 adults - we didn’t donate. To put into context, my husband and I have been members of Marwell in our days before our children. It holds a special place in our hearts. We moved away but always managed to make at least 2 visits a year as the children grew up & still do - the kids are now into their 20’s and often visit with us. Sadly the experience over the last 10 -15 years has progressively gotten worse. Every time we go we hope it will be better. Marwell was always at the forefront of conservation and education & had an extremely successful breeding program for the rhinos and giraffes. Much money has been spent on enclosures that didn’t work, the snow leopards, the cheeta, the walkway over the persian leopard, now cloud leopard, the new tropical house, the gibbon enclosure, kids play areas. Now it is a shell. Few animals, lots of paddocks full of weeds, & plastic bottles & little or no information. The annual membership is a steal but place feels more of a kiddies play area than a serious home for conservation and education. It’s expensive and disappointing. Bit on context - The Cotswold Wildlife Park is £19 for an adult. A much smaller facility but full of animals and information & staff happy to help and answer questions.

This pub proclaim on their very own website to be a ‘friendly local pub’, ‘families welcome’, ‘friendly publicans’, ‘where community comes together’, ‘you’ll feel part of the family’…which is quite frankly outrageous given our two experiences here. On the first occasion my little boy became upset in the pub (over something i cant remember- but hes 4, so standard 4yo behaviour which lasted only a minute or two). And when i came back in from the garden, I heard them laughing and one member of staff said ‘hes a brat, and his mother just cant control him which isnt my problem’. Then (heaven knows why we went back) - my friends little boy cut his cheek on the side of a bench in the beer garden - they refused to give us any first aid or call a taxi for A&E, let alone any empathy or basic duty of care. When my husband challenged the manager (Ade) and he said to us ‘if i had my way id make this an adults only pub so we dont have to deal with these nightmare kids’. I could not believe how cruel and uncaring the people working here could be. A little boy had hurt himself and they couldn’t have cared less- but more than that- they were hostile, unhelpful and offensive about the whole thing. Despite it being our local, we have not returned- and we will not be.

lovely pub but my only complaint is that legaly when a drink has been served that drink must be supplied to the recipient no matter what the time is and in the case of my visit i bought a drink near closing time and as soon as I bought that drink it was taken of me which is not just illegal but also unfair so for this reason I can not recommend this establishment at all
