I've been here a couple of times for special occasions and my partner decided to treat me to a nice lunch. They have a pretty reasonable lunch menu for £19.17 for 2 courses. It's quite a small menu but the food we chose was excellent. My partner had the bang bang chicken skewers and chicken in a white wine sauce. I had the mozzarella salad to start followed by the vegan curry. The food was pretty good, although some of the green beans in the curry were a little but hard. As it was Halloween I just had to try the scary pumpkin desert! It was huge actually so enough for 2 of us. It wasn't listed on the menu but I had seen it advertised on the website and they were more than happy to oblige me. Overall a really lovely meal, just a few little touches missing from when we had been previously, they didn't offer to hang our jackets and there was no white table cloth on the table just paper placemats. This didn't take away from our lovely experience but just little touches that set the Ivy apart from other restaurants. With the set menu and a couple of drinks and coffee with desert the bill came to around £80. Quite expensive for lunch but a nice treat.
Top tip.... its so worth joining the executive club and down loading the app as you collect points and get money off and special offers.
Good pub, nice that they brew their own beer
Excellent provision of outdoor seating for a hot day ☀️
Didn't eat so cannot comment on food but beer was tasty
My partner and I had a really good meal here yesterday, genuinely nice service and the food was outstanding, just wish we lived closer but will definitely be back next time we visit Winchester.
The food itself was good, but the service left much to be desired. Our main courses were brought out before the starters, which was confusing and disrupted the flow of the meal. One of the starters was repeatedly requested and only arrived after we had finished eating, which was quite frustrating. We had originally planned to stay for dessert, but due to the disappointing experience, we decided to leave instead. It’s a shame, as the quality of the food had potential, but the poor coordination really let it down.
This was supposed to be a birthday celebration for my wife who had wanted to visit the Winchester Côte for sometime. We were greeted by friendly staff who took our order. We ordered the shared Côte de Beuf and upgraded to truffle fries. The meal arrived about 20 mins later - indicating it was all freshly cooked. The first thing we noticed was that only one of the fries had been upgraded to truffle. They took away the wrong portion to replace them. We decided to start and not wait. Immediately we noticed all the food was cold, stone cold as was the dishes they were served in. I managed to get a waiters attention. He apologised and took away the steak but left our plates and sides on the table. I had to grab the manager to ask that the whole table be cleared. He apologised and said a fresh order would be made and offered us a complimentary drink whilst we waited.
The fresh food came out, much hotter and was ok, not great.
We declined a dessert as the evening was ruined and we didn’t want to stay there any longer than we had to.
They had the cheek to add service charge to the final bill!
Very disappointing and we won’t be returning.
This was actually an online order but excellent all the same and good value for money. Highly recommend the spaghetti carbonara and chocolate pudding. Also it's the little things that make up the big things so Zizzi also gave a complimentary freebie which was very nice. Delicious.
The Cricketers is a great pub with a huge garden and amazing staff. We visited recently while the outside area was being hired for a private event. Unfortunately this could have been the reason why the pizzas were not to their usual standard. Still love it though!
Lovely meal, service was imaculate, special thanks to Toby, Jack and Jodie made the evening very special ❤️ prices were reasonable, would recommend anyone come here for food x
We have just returned from our first trip to The Bush Inn at Ovington, and we’re very happy, thank you. The food was delicious, the service (Leo and the two female staff) was excellent and the atmosphere was welcoming too. Pick of the main courses were Steak and Ale pie, Haddock and chips, and the children’s Burger. Prices were reasonable and the selection of food was excellent. We will definitely be back, probably in the warmer weather, when we can use the large beer garden. Keep up the good work and thanks again.
