Rimjhim Indian in Winchester

We had booked an overnight stay in Winchester and found this restaurant on trip advisor.. firstly I was amazed how big the restaurant was! We Were seated straight away.. I had booked.. the menu had a wide range of curries and there was a great deal we liked the sound of.. we enjoyed poppadoms and dips and decided not to have a starter.. the curries came out and wow! They were lovely, and presented really well.. we both left the restaurant having eaten far too much, but we just couldn’t leave it! Wish this was our local curry house!

we popped in here on the spur of the moment and were accommodated without a booking. it had a nice relaxed atmosphere with good decor. the food was excellent with good flavour with our seperate dishes, price for 2 curries, 2 sides and 4 drinks was £64 plus 10% gratuity which is automatically added to the bill but is discretionary. this was one of the better curries we have had recently and would recommend this one.

Zero. Ordered never arrived and no communication from restaurant!

Lovely food, it all arrived piping hot and delivered before the estimated time. Spot on.

Excellent food- the lamb in particular is melt in the mouth delicious with generous portion sizes. Everything- from poppadoms and dips to naan bread to rices and curries were extremely tasty. Great service too- I was advised against the venison being pregnant as they were worried it would be too rare for me and I appreciated the thoughtfulness. We’ve been multiple times before and we’ll definitely be back next time we want an Indian!

AMAZING SERVICE honestly I went there for my 17th birthday with 11 of my friends and they were so friendly and welcoming. They made sure everything was perfect even though there was a lot of us and it was so comfortable. They were entertaining and gave us 10% off discount with free poppadoms and they brought an out my cake with candles even though I didn’t bring any candles. They also let me choose the music to play and dimmed the lights so my grinds an I could dance honestly the best experience thank youu!!!

Food was over 90 minutes late! The app said the food had arrived so I rang the restaurant to say that it hadn’t and they assured me it was on its way and it was easily another 25 before it arrived for mins for a 5 min journey. I get that it was a Saturday night but don’t take online orders if you can’t cater for restaurant and takeaway. When it arrived, the curry sauce was missing from the biryani. Rest of the food was ok. Overall disappointing experience.

We had a lovely evening with friends & family. The staff made us feel very welcome. The food was great!! Thank you Rhimjim for making my friends 60th Birthday a night to remember. X

Lovely food, just right for us!

Sorry to give a negative review guys. I’m regular customer but, today I feel butter naan is so thick and too soft not welly cooked, mainly Hyderabad chicken biryani is not authentic and also I didn’t feel even the biryani flavour. The food taste good but it’s not a part of the dish name as Hyderabad biryani. Fried rice and chicken tikka masala are very good and taste amazing.

As is so often when using this app the orders a delayed and when you try to call the outlet they tell you its on the way and then when it still hasn't arrived you get told driver just left rubbish service with no help or money of for shocking service😤

Food was excellent, the lamb Tawa was exceptional. Service was considerate and friendly. The only issue we had was that the wheelchair would not fit through to the toilets. Luckily we only had a discreet leg bag to empty but could be a massive problem for others. Would recommend the restaurant get this changed ASAP.

Lovely hot and fresh shame one rice dish was missing ! better checking of completed orders before dispatching would be a idea.

Agreed price for group meal but then charged 20% more than the eat-in list price for the food (and 10% service charge in addition)

The special goat curry is the best I’ve had in Winchester…Never lets me down.The flavours pop on this dish and it’s not too hot.

A lovely restaurant with a welcoming atmosphere! Mica is an absolute credit to the team and made the whole experience incredibly special. The food was good and the service was great. Can’t wait for the next visit!

Best curry I’ve had in a while

Usually no issues, but in end, had the restaurant blaming the driver then the driver blamed the restaurant, very unsatisfied, will be requesting a refund

I'd visited earlier in the year and found the food good but the service really poor. I had some overseas friends staying who fancied an Indian so gave them a second chance. This was a big mistake - the service was awful, which left me embarrassed for having suggested it. The waiter took ages to take our drink order and then when the drinks finally arrived with poppadoms, the dips took another 5 minutes to turn up. The waiter never returned and we had to grab one to take our order. This wasn't easy, they seem well trained in avoiding eye contact or hand gestures! (And we were sat in the middle of the restaurant). It then took over an hour for our food to arrive - and it was 4 really simple dishes. It was only after I grabbed another waiter that the manager wandered over and explained that the food was almost ready. It took a further 10 minutes from that point, so I imagine they'd completely forgotten about us and cooked it as soon as they realised they made their mistake. No apology at all when the food finally turned up, hastily put together with cold plates. This was broadly the same experience as my previous visit, and I've read other reviews about the restaurant's focus on takeaways. I get the sense that if you're in the restaurant they take you for granted and focus on getting the Deliveroo and Ubereats away on time. Won't be giving them a third chance!

Really disappointed to place an order at 6:45pm and not receive the delivery until 9:20pm. No communication until chased multiple time, with a response of 'it's busy' as a justification. Recommend that you have to agree to a long wait time before the order is processed and your moneys taken.

More than 30 mints late,, still waiting

Came by this restaurant early one Sunday evening. My son was starving hungry and the service was rapid- perfect. The staff were polite and attentive. The restaurant and toilets were very clean. Definitely returning. Thank you for a great meal.

Never understood the point of Papadums until I couldn't get enough of them at RimJhim! The food is spectacularly tasty! The staff is friendly and accommodating. The music and overall atmosphere, easy and the decor and lights a feast for the eyes! Loréan, South Africa

Excellent service as always. There was a small problem with the order that the restaurant rectified immediately, timely and generously. The food is always fantastic and service outstanding, courteous and helpful on the phone. Highly recommend! Driver was also very friendly!

Order was wrong. Missing items also. Food was stone cold and then we had to wait for replacements which took 30 mins. Such a shame as the order we had before was really good.

I booked the restaurant for a birthday celebration and I can’t fault the restaurant! Lovely friendly service, they made lots of effort for the birthday providing a sing along and the food itself was incredible! We were all so full by the end but wanted to eat more… my starter of chicken puri I could eat ten times over! Would absolutely go again!

Really great, its now our new favourite Indian and our go-to take out.

The food tasted incredible as it always does, good size portions, my only criticism is by the time its delivered it need warming up. It was a busy night but could do with some way to keep it hotter. And I would say always great reheating wats left the next day.

Visiting Winchester for a couple of days and fancied a curry. Found Rimjhim and was and was very pleased that we did. The food was excellent and the menu was varied and not just traditional curry dishes. Service was good, waiting staff were friendly. 5/5

We normally visit here every fortnight. Its our favourite Indian restaurant. I give this place 5 stars in all respects The food, management, staff, and wine is first class. The restauarant is spotlessly clean, as are the toilets, which , for us, is so important. Everyone working here is so kind, informative, patient and friendly, its like dining with family, such a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere.

We had pre-booked our menu as we came following a xmas event at the cathedral and my parents are getting old, and don't like being out too late. We were served drinks very quickly and had poppadoms and starters , then ordered our mains. Everything was top class and delicious, as always. The lamb bhuna and chicken korma went down a treat and my daughter always has chicken tikka. Cooked to perfection, hot plates (that Mum and Dad always ask for) and superb service. Never disappointed in this place. It's the best Indian around here and although it can be a bit pricey, it is always good value for money and the food is delicious.

Needed a dairy free version, I called up, it was no problem. It tasted amazing 6/5 stars

I'm going to keep this short and sweet. This was by far the best Indian restaurant I have been to in a long time. Great vegetarian menu lovely staff. Not the cheapest in the world but good VFM.

I arranged a leaving with 15 people. The manager and staff could not do enough for us. Very welcoming and attentive. The atmosphere was warm and calming. We all had a brilliant time. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

The korma and rice where both luke warm- cold when they arrived and the rice was very gritty in texture.

Try to deliver the food next time?

When the food arrived we were missing an item but one call to the restaurant later and the missing item was delivered within 20 minutes, piping hot with a bag of goodies as a gesture of good will. Will 100% be ordering again from here, excellent food and exceptional service.

Food was very nice, great taste to all dishes and great size portions. Was luke warm at best as delivery was late, guessing we were last on a multi delivery run.

Despite receiving my order in the time window, my curry was luke warm, the rice was stone cold, the appetiser platter was also cold and thrown in a bag, meaning the bhajis were ruined. I wonder how long my food was sat there before it was delivered to me. I’m really disappointed.

Friendly staff as always. They helped me with making sure what I ate was safe for me - I have a severe nut allergy and all was ok. Collection time was even quicker than expected and the food is great. I recommend their Chana masala (chickpeas in a very tasty sauce).

Then we noticed the sorry excuse for a portion of onion bhaji - two small flat chewy onion pancakes (£3.95!!) The curry's themselves (a madras and a korma) were very bland and the chicken was dry. Also no option for chicken tikka (ok, may not be authentic but most other restaurants give this as an option as it's what people want) We were so disappointed. Booked a table for 7pm last Saturday for a group of 10. We were sat at a table on arrival and waited half an hour to get our first drink. 20 minutes later we got some poppadoms and ordered our food and waited. And waited....

Tikka Masala was pale and bland and for £4 I received two flat, greasy onion bhajis. The started of crispy squid was the worst part. Soggy mess. First and last time I’ll be ordering food from here.

Completely unhappy with the delivery. Had to phone restaurant twice and reply was 10min each time but not received yet. Supposed to be delivered between 20:20 and 20:40 but it’s 21:10 and still no response. No one contacted to apologies the delay neither received any text message. I’m still awaiting. Wasn’t that nice really bland very dissatisfied and a waste of money

Although the food was a bit late it was delicious as usual. I have rated restaurant service but it surely cannot not apply to delivery!

The food was absolutely delicious. Ok it was late, but we live in a village with house names and lots of them with the same post code. Also the mobile phone signal is useless so the poor chap was trying to call us but couldn’t hear what our Call Guardian phone was telling him to do to get his call put through . The food was actually at a perfect temperature to actually taste the food. Will definitely order again. I don’t remember if there was an option on the JustEat app to put in delivery instructions, I’ll check next time.
