The pub doesn't look like anything special on the outside, but don't fooled because it is so special on the inside. After a long walk we were ready for a rest and refreshments. There are benches at the front where you can enjoy food and drink, and an area around the side with a covered marquee, but we chose to sit inside. Superb food, we opted for the game and vegetarian pie, the chocolate brownie was the best we have ever tasted and the spiced apple crumble with custard. The staff are friendly and very attentive. Bathroom very clean and inviting. Interior is very warm and inviting with the real fire lit. We were so comfortable there we ended saying for a few extra hours, and enjoyed an extra dessert, shared a slice of chocolate cake which was located on the bar. We had such a lovely experience, we highly recommend this pub.

Really good service and the selection of Sunday roasts were really good . I had the roast beef which was first class lots of beautifully cooked beef with the nicest roast potatoes parsnips geeens, carrots roasted beetroot which was delicious and a big Yorkshire pudding. It was absolutely delicious the others on the group had the roast lamb and they also said it was amazing and plentiful . Sadly no room for dessert but can highly recommend for the Sunday roast.

Excellent customer service, and I have to say the food was absolutely delicious. Had baby squid with chorizo and tomato bruschetta, all the flavours were well balanced without any powering the other which isn’t always easy to do when you involve chorizo. Closely followed by the burgers which were absolutely gorgeous. Lovely Staff very welcoming all in all a very enjoyable lunch.

Visited on a Saturday. Staff were friendly. There was some parking available on site - careful with street parking as some is limited to an hour. They have a great selection of beers on tap. The wood pigeon was nice - always good to try something different. Be about a fish is lovely nice crispy batter and served with a huge portion of chips. The lock fire was really nice as you can see from the photo of my dog they are dog friendly too, inside as well as the beer garden outside of course.

Walked around the Winchester Xmas Market and fancied a beer on the way home so dropped into the Queens. Parked outside, busy at the bar, ordered 2 pints sat down and then looked at the menus and it said food served until 6pm. We asked to order food and were told they only had 3 Roast Beef dinners left so we had 2 of them. The roast beef was quite rare but very good. Roast parsnip, roast potatoes, carrots, beetroot, red cabbage, cheesy leeks, sausage meat and a very nice Yorkie Pudding. Finished the plate and decided to order a Banoffee Parfait. Would highly recommend and great service. They are also a MicroBrewery. It had a really good vibe about the place.

A nice pub, Green King, but with a microbrewery attached, offering a nice selection of cask ale. A ten minute or so walk from the centre, but well worth it. We mistakenly first went to The Willow Tree, its sister pub, which only had one Queens ale on tap, the other two were Green King. About a half hour walk between the two if you make the same mistake. Always a nice spot for a drink. Was there on a Saturday lunchtime and the menu looked good so thought I'd order a bite to eat too... dreadful decision. Really basic and flavourless ham and cheese sandwich (supermarket style) with fat and very undercooked chips. Also had a chicken skewer which was like no chicken I've ever seen before and came with a blue cheese dip that had presumably been recently unfrozen and microwaved, it had a very strange film on it. Absolutely disgusting and at £20, not exactly cheap and cheerful.
