A nice pub, Green King, but with a microbrewery attached, offering a nice selection of cask ale. A ten minute or so walk from the centre, but well worth it. We mistakenly first went to The Willow Tree, its sister pub, which only had one Queens ale on tap, the other two were Green King. About a half hour walk between the two if you make the same mistake. We didn't have food, but it looked good on other tables.

Fabulous visit. Came with our 2 dogs. Sunday lunch was excellent. Selection of ales was marvellous. All the staff were so friendly and polite. Beautiful pub/restaurant in superb location, (with bus stop to head back to town only 4mins walk away).Has excellent garden at the rear. Real Ales and ciders to my liking. This is second time we have visited both on beautiful sunny days. Quen pub was last of 6 planned for our tour of historic pubs. One other to recommend is the Blackboys, you will be stounded by its interior.

We came as a group of 11 people (mix of toddler to adults) and a dog for Sunday lunch. Service was attentive, prompt and helpful. We asked if we could order food for our toddler and 4 year old even when the rest of the group have not arrived and this was kindly obliged by the staff. Food was excellent- portion was generous and everything was delicious. We had the roast beef and it was cooked to perfection. Even the kids’ fish and chips was a good size. Always our first choice when going out for a meal in Winchester.

Stopped here last night before heading off on the South Downs Way today. Really friendly staff, tasty food, great portions. We had the ham, egg and chips and a burger. I also had their own Bitter which was delicious. We have a nervous dog so needed somewhere tucked away, they had plenty of space out the back. All undercover which was lucky since it was raining. Always nice to find a great pub and this ticked all the boxes!

Always a nice spot for a drink. Was there on a Saturday lunchtime and the menu looked good so thought I'd order a bite to eat too... dreadful decision. Really basic and flavourless ham and cheese sandwich (supermarket style) with fat and very undercooked chips. Also had a chicken skewer which was like no chicken I've ever seen before and came with a blue cheese dip that had presumably been recently unfrozen and microwaved, it had a very strange film on it. Absolutely disgusting and at £20, not exactly cheap and cheerful.

Lovely pub with it's own microbrewery. Once again great to find really friendly and attentive staff. Garden areas are more extensive than we'd realised, with plenty of space. The food was outstanding and great value for money. We could not fault our visit except it was very difficult to find somewhere to park but as it's Winchester this certainly isn't the pubs fault but do be aware.

We had breads humous and olives to start and for mains Some had the burgers which looked delicious, some had kedgeree and again it looked really good and the rest had the roasts, beef or pork and some went for the regular size and some had a smaller size but both were plentiful and really filling and so delicious they even bought out extra veg at no extra charge. Went to a leaving do for some colleagues. Friendly staff, a nice traditional indoor setting, the pub's own microbrewery and a pleasant outdoor seating area. A small car park to the side of the Inn & after 6pm, the time limit for on road parking is lifted until the following morning. With the menu, if you select the gourmet burger option / chunky chips / real onion rings / gammon with double fried egg, then these looked very tasty, but the two vegetarian options were poor. Some of our table had the Portobello mushroom option which had Mediterranean vegetables & sweet potato wedges. This was a bland, small boring dish which for £15 wasn't worth it. Would like to see steak on the menu for the omnivores, halloumi / plant based burger / quorn sausage with double egg as a vegetarian option. Would return here in the future to try out what the microbrewery has to offer though.

We stopped for a pint at The Queen Inn on a sunny Sunday afternoon in August. We received a very warm welcome from the bar team and ordered our drinks - which we found were very reasonably priced. They also produce a range of their own beers, and it’s nice to see the equipment as you enter. The pub has an abundance of outdoor spaces, as well as some undercover outdoor seating too. The beer/ale selection is extensive and there is definitely something for everyone, including a selection of their own ales brewed on site. We stayed with another couple for 2 nights B&B plus one dinner. The hotel couldn't be better placed in Winchester but both the car park and the dining room are far too small for the number of guests. One of us had to wait for about 40 mins for a car park space (for which they charge £15 per night) and we had to wait for over 30 mins each morning for a table at breakfast. The hotel was busy but they should operate booked timings for breakfast rather than making guests wait for tables when they cannot accommodate the numbers. The food was very good but at dinner two of us were served our main courses about 10 mins before the others. I paid for the wine separately but when the bill was presented a service charge had been added which I asked to be deleted which it was.

A cute pub that is part of the local community. It does have a charm of being very open and welcoming. There isn't enough seating inside if you have a four legged friend as they are not allowed in the restaurant area, understandable of course.
