A cute pub that is part of the local community. It does have a charm of being very open and welcoming. There isn't enough seating inside if you have a four legged friend as they are not allowed in the restaurant area, understandable of course.

Stopped off in Wickham in need of refreshments but no cafes were open. The menu at The Kings Head looked good. We had 10 minutes to order sandwiches and chose the shrimp and egg, the falafel wrap and the crispy squid. All excellent choices and came with chips. The coffee was very good and of course the ale was perfect. So glad we dropped in. Lovely staff by the way.

Called in for a pint and vegetarian option off the menu. We were at the Wickham folk festival for the weekend. We were not disappointed and thoroughly enjoyed the meal and service. The outside seating area both covered and uncovered looked great. We enjoyed the atmosphere inside the pub, the stone floors, architecture and old prints on the walls. Great place to while away a few hours.

I often visit here for the occasional pint. There are always other customers in the bar. The beer is fine, although the selection is limited. My latest visit was to watch England in the Euro final. The covered courtyard and the function room were used to show the match. These were ideal locations and left the bar football free which would please customers wishing to have a quiet drink without the noise.

I wouldn’t normally go to the trouble of leaving a review for a pub. But feel others need to be pre-warned! Me and my other half were disgusted at what was served for the price. We ordered two burgers (this was on a Sunday for reference). We were presented with a small portion of warm chips and the burger was pitiful. An over toasted bun which was small, one patty, burger sauce evidently out of a bottle and not freshly made, some onion and a slice of lettuce! It looked like it had been kept under a lamp too long or had been microwaved. This is fine if you’re paying under a tenner for the privilege…but £17.50 EACH. It’s just appalling! We popped in on an off chance for a bit of rare couple time without our son. We honestly wished we hadn’t bothered. We can cook better food at home. We would never return and will be telling all to avoid…honestly just because you’re in ‘Wickham’ doesn’t give you the right to charge stupid prices for crap. The beer was also presented with no head on it at all. The final staff member we dealt with was a lady with dark hair who had no sense of humour, no warmth and was very rude when paying our bill. Just finished off an already rubbish experience. There are way nicer places for less money and better food. Don’t even bother wasting your time….

We have used this lovely pub on several occasions - family meals, a nice pint at the end of a cycle ride & most recently when I enquired whether their Karaoke Nights were going to be a regular feature, not only did they say yes, they kindly arranged January's on my birthday! On that evening, I had the rack of ribs - & they were off the scale flavour wise. And then the birthday boy had a most excellent evening, with a few turns behind the mic & a lovely crowd of villagers and visitors from further afield. A great atmosphere & a great evening. For the eagle eyed, a reference to Kingsman too...

Visited for a pre booked evening meal, to meet up with a colleague I worked with years ago. The food and drink were of a good standard and the pub was absolutely buzzing with customers, a great start to the evening. Sadly at around 8pm, the "band" started to do sound checks which were far too loud.. After a bit they started to play and it was absolutely deafening (and poor!). There was tremendous muttering of disapproval throughout the pub. The staff refused to get the sound reduced, when we asked. Within 30 minutes, the pub had been cleared in a really effective manner, and only a few souls remained. This absolutely ruined the evening. Would score a 4 if there had been no music, but as it was one of the worst dining experiences I have had in a long time, the band created an overall score of 1. I did contact Fullers asking to discuss this (as I was ignored on the night) but they did not respond to me, so presumably cannot care less.
