Made the mistake of popping in here for a drink & snack assuming it'd be up to the standard of other Costas. Big mistake. Tables covered in trays & dirty cups, dirty floor and nowhere to sit. Eventually moved a tray so we could sit down -- everywhere smelled pretty bad of bleach. Made the double mistake of putting my handbag on the floor where unbeknown to me there was a pile of what looked like puke that then ended up on my beige trousers. Disgusting!!! Never coming here again...

Their menu online stated their lunchtime sandwiches came with fries. When they arrived without, I questioned it, to which the waitress said it was "a sample menu" and that they didn't. I pointed it out online, that they said they came with, but she was having none of it. An hour after leaving they updated their website to suggest this. This is clear deception and directly lying to customers. I will be getting in touch with Young's head office and urge people not to give money to liars. Updated: Below, the business has responded suggesting that they state their menu can change. This is true, but it states that it can change based on seasonal availability. Having confirmed the fries were available, I'm not sure this is relevant. A 50% price increase is hardly a seasonal availability change and it's borderline deceptive. This can be further confirmed by how quickly they removed the page to cover their tracks. Regarding not looking at the menus - I did, but failed to notice the lack of fries as it's not rational to assume something has increased by 50% of the price. Unfortunately, this is my favourite pub in the town, but I refuse to visit now. Not because of £5, but because I was made to feel like a liar for your own mistake.

We were leaving Burford after shopping and stumbled upon this place on our way out. My friend and I really liked it. The menu was not what we were expecting. Very much to my friends liking. Lovely little pub with outdoor area. Great teas served with special touch of coconut ice and Turkish delight made by the chef.. Great food. I liked that there was no skin on my fish which was beautifully cooked.and all food piping hot. I ordered bread and butter and was served a great little cob loaf with loads of butter. My portion of chips and peas were way too much though. My friend had burger meal without bun and really enjoyed it. He was very impressed and this man loves good food. The cappuccino was the best I’ve had anywhere, nice and hot which they never seem to be anywhere. The young servers work hard, non stop on the go and very pleasant.

I've been going to this delightful little takeaway ever since it first opened some 30 years ago. Consistently reliable, service with a smile and excellent Chinese food only a 5min walk from my home! Prices are very good too! It can get busy at certain times of day and orders taken by phone can take a little time, but walk-in orders are normally turned round pretty quickly. Cash only, but there's an ATM next door. The menu is quite comprehensive, but isn't available on-line.

Big View cafe, went for Lunch to try the Big View burgers which were absolutely delicious. We also had a portion of fries which were lovely and crisp. My husband tried the Kaleb Cider which he enjoyed. An amazing experience, fantastic views, carpark well organised by parking staff, only waited 5 mins for a space. The queue for the very small farm shop was over an hour, so we just went round the back to the cafe for food, it only took about 10-15 mins in the queue then the food was ready 5 mins later.

Very good dinner at Killingworth Castle. This was the first time eating from the a la carte menu after previously trying the Sunday lunch menu. It’s a really nice dining area at Killingworth. We were in ‘the Library’ in the middle of the restaraunt and it’s a nice space for dining. There’s good choices on the menu with the option for snacks to start if you don’t want a bigger starter. The terrine with the bread was very good and not too dense as terrines can sometimes be. The duck and the monkfish were both excellent with decent portion sizes - just one extra side shared between two. For dessert it was the chocolate delice and a blackcurrant soufflé. The soufflé was genuinely fantastic and not too sharp with a beautiful ginger-stem ice-cream on the side. Killingworth Castle is a very good restaurant. Is it aiming towards Michelin star level? It has the feel of somewhere that has that ambition. Needs further refinement and maybe a more adventurous menu. It’s fairly decently priced, with three courses each and a couple of drinks coming out at approx £170. Definitely recommend a visit.
