Absolutely wonderful service and the chicken sandwich was sooooo good!

First time in Huffkins today and will most definitely be back. Greeted by a polite young lady who recommended the amazing warm lardy cake. Her name was Jess (I grabbed this before leaving). Thank you again

We dropped in for breakfast of bacon rolls and coffee, that we consumed at a table outside - it was a warm and sunny morning. All most acceptable, though the drinks for these Southerners were London prices!

I ordered jacket potatoes with beans and cheese, very nice, but mixed leaves salad (garnish). I didn't enjoy it (expecting something different...). Last Belgian chocolate eclair so disappointed (dried middle creamy staff is not for this desert) over price

Prices have skyrocketed since Covid whilst the quality and quantity of the offerings has declined sharply. A sausage bap for £8.95 is extortionate especially as it’s mediocre quality or a breakfast bap for nearly £13 is absurd. Not long ago you could get a full English breakfast for about £10.00. The management at this outfit seem far more interested in generating profits by pushing up prices rather than giving value for money, This will be our last trip to this overpriced outfit.

Over charged for something, my friend bought the same thing 2 mins later and was charger lower than what I was. Was thinking £5 for a chocolate eclair is way to expensive and they need to sort out their prices

Very very hot inside. Turned heater off. Had afternoon tea which sandwiches were great. Scones the best I have ever eaten. The desserts were stodgy and too sweet, they were all left. For the price I expected a cafetiere of coffee but just got a cup. Very disappointed overall I would not recommend paying so much for an afternoon tea. Much better elsewhere.

mixed experience. Food was fine, if expensive, (£11.00 for a sandwich). All delivered quite promptly but fed up with a small barking dog, staff said they were "dog friendly", does this excuse it disturbing customers? On mentioning this, I was effectively shown the door. Won't be returning here again anytime soon.

What an amazing change, thin menu of food we can’t eat and bad bread. Coffees good though. for over a decade the weekly visit into huffkins was a must, beautifully cooked BLT, a nice bowl of soup of the day, croissant with smoked salmon. Great cup of tea or coffee to wash it down. The only big issue was if there was a table free… well at least that is never a problem. Over expanded and became impersonal a real shame, I miss it.

You can always rely on Huffkins for great cake. Wish the croissant weren't so small though. Expensive for a little size. Should be bigger or perhaps I'm just greedy

Upon entering you quickly realise this is not a friendly restaurant the staff appeared to have had a personality bypass. We were immediately told on entering that there were NO eggs and since every breakfast item on the menu involved eggs this put paid to any notion of Breakfast. Surely any manager worth their salt would have read the situation and dipped into petty cash to purchased a couple of dozen eggs, instead they had to turn away business that, in the current climate I would have thought few companies could afford to do.

Popped in on my way back to cornwall to get some Lardy cake, Staff were friendly and the cafe was clean and tidy. Lardy cake was lush

Seems to have gone downhill a lot since last visited. Food very bland and expensive. I had to go looking for a server to place my order. I used to enjoy going to Huffkins, but alas I think that was my last ever visit.

Order a jacket spud and it came . It was on hot plate but the potatoes when was eating it the potato was very cold . Just cheese was hot and melting so order another one . Was very disappointed as i only treat myself .now and there .

We lived in Witney for many years and after visiting friends decided to have breakfast in Huffkins before we left. Huffkins was always a regular place for us to eat whether for a coffee or lunch but we were surprised to find it was incredibly quiet in fact there was only one other couple in , not a huge choice for breakfast but was tasty however what got us was the prices , £26 for two rolls with bacon, sausage and egg and a pot of tea for two was £8 !! and we had to ask for an extra tea bag as so weak Decor was all very tired and whilst it was clean there was unfortunately a bit of a “drain” smell if you were near the toilets . Such a pity as Huffkins was always very popular years ago but we wouldn’t return

Jessica was wonderful during my visit today. She made me feel incredibly welcome, offering thoughtful drink recommendations and suggesting the perfect cake. It made the experience so much better!

Very nice place, Concy, our server was absolutely amazing and definitely driving the café the extra mile. Will return soon .

Staff are always very welcoming. I have been a regular in Huffkins for 17 years. Seen many changes but still my favourite place to be. Excellent coffee and community spirit.

Been here many times but not in last couple years, visiting area and thought would be nice, but very disappointed.. restaurant looks very tired could do with good clean and paint job. Scone was warm and doughy, marks sell better scones. Cream was just a tub and small jar jam... where has the personal touch gone of making cream tea special ! Should have guessed not as good as it was as restaurant really quiet. Staff had attutude of couldn't be bothered. Shame

I loved the huffkins in burford and thought it would be the same in witney because all standards are different from the cleanliness the the quality of the food. Bread was dry like it has been sitting open for a while. The place wasn't clean at all and the smell coming from the bathroom was like pub toilets. I won't be returning to the witney one but I definitely will to the burford one.

Visited Huffkins on a Sunday. The lady who greeted us told us that due to staff shortages and an ill chef they were only able to offer a limited menu. We said no problem as long as something vegan was available. Three of four ordered a vegan sausage breakfast roll. I am not vegan but often eat vegan/vegetarian food. What a disappointment in this case! Two very pale, unappetising rolls of mixed veg and potato (we think) arrived! They were tasteless, definitely needed some ketchup or brown sauce! We understand the situation the staff were in but this is an issue of quality of food. The staff were working hard. Huffkins very disappointing quality and really expensive for a quick Sunday snack. We are local and have used Huffkins many times over the years, mainly Burford but not sure we will be recommending you in the future.

Visited Huffkins with a friend for some afternoon tea - picked the option with a scone sandwiches and tea. It alone was over 16 pound each, which I didn’t mind initially. The sandwiches were really dry, did not get the option to have white bread which I would have preferred. To make it look good it had green leaves on the sides of the plates.. we ran out of tea in the tea pot. I went to ask for another pot and was charged over 7 pound for a pot of tea.. the atmosphere was not the same as it is in Burford as I’ve been there and it’s light and airy and friendly helpful staff, the staff we experienced in Witney were standing around like it was a youth club. The overall look is quite grubby tables and mugs were stained and the glass storage at the front which has the savoury items was full of condensation, did not look pretty. There is also a bad sewage smell which needs looked at asap at one point I felt quite ill. Overall I wouldn’t visit again, it’s completely lost its charm. I apologise if this review is rather harsh but with 7 plus years experience in hospitality I notice these things, some of which are easily to address and fix.

The first time we have had afternoon tea! We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary with classic afternoon tea at Huffkins, Witney. It was a lovely experience and would certainly recommend it.

So disappointed. Huffkins was always a lovely place to visit and normally go a few times a year. Doubt I will go again after the visit today. Menu has changed yet again, hardly anything for us to choose that we liked. The food we had was ok except the bread was dry and not fresh. Used to have more variety and be a traditional tearoom. Now have to go up to order. Table wasn’t clean. Service was very unfriendly. I really felt being there was an inconvenience

Excellent food and atmosphere. Pricey but worth it. Definitely recommend the classic cream tea with breakfast tea.

Had lunch with friends here, and it was my first time visiting. We had to find a member of staff to order at the till, food was missing items, and looked very plain. Like the space and the decoration. You can help yourself to water on a counter, it’s handy. Will have to give it an other go, it could have been one of those days.

Popped in for a breakfast baguette as I work on the go!! Best breakfast baguette I’ve had and I go to loads of places for breakfast! This was great thank you and will definitely be back when I’m in Witney again..

After not having my first choice of light lunch I went for the ‘oven cooked’ jacket potatoes and beans (which cost £11.95). I asked if the jacket potatoes were crispy and was told that they were (I can stand microwaved jacket potatoes). Very disappointed to received a microwaved jacket potato which looked like it had been out under the grill for a few minutes. Huffkins - please be honest when cooking/describing and serving your food!!

Some noisy ladies disturbed the atmosphere. But everything else was 5 stars.

Wonderful place for an afternoon tea. The sandwiches and scones were fantastic as were the cakes. Staff were friendly and we all the time we wanted to enjoy our experience. Would definitely return.

Usually meet same group of friends here every few months for a catch-up. We thought how quiet it was in there, understand why now. Used to be really busy and food was excellent. We had various light lunch dishes, most came with ‘salad’ if you call a pile of just lettuce a salad. One guest asked if she could have some tomato, to be told no we don’t have any!! Jacket potato lukewarm. Not value for money. When we left just after 2pm they were sweeping up. Very sad to see the decline

Not quite what it used to be. Menu is slightly reduced and pancakes i had were clearly packaged rather the made onsite which was a bit disappointing. Baps looked good though.

I've had two lardy cakes now within the last 6 months lardy cakes they're not Huffkins lardy cakes are suppose to be sugary sticky and sweet but once more the one I got wasn't maybe it came from lidl's

Have been several times before as well as ordered the hampers and always been very pleased. Friendly staff, tasty food and lovely coffee.

First time visiting in over 10 years. We were really pleased to get a table and even more pleased that it is still the Huffkins that we knew back then. Really good food. Really good service. And fair prices. Will definitely visit again next time I'm in Witney!

The bread was hard and the scrambled eggs are drowned in water but the staff made up for it with free cakes and brownies

Such a shame, we have been coming here for years, as a couple and while our family has been growing, a nice treat for breakfast or lunch. Never a cheap place but great food and service, if you could get a table due to it being so busy all the time. We went yesterday for the first time in a while, it was empty, and now we understand why, the menu is lack lustre, and equally the food. You used to do local sausages, your own tomato sauce, great bacon, not now, it’s a greasy spoon breakfast and you left the grease on the plate, my bacon was swimming in it, my deep fried sausage was too. It was a £5 breakfast that you charged £15 for, and had to order myself at the till, a smile from the waitress would have eased the cost, she didn’t. There’s a reason why you are so empty, fix your menu, provide value for money. Good food served well is worth it. Bad expensive food, served without care - ends up where you are, probably scratching your head thinking where did we go so wrong, please make it good again.

Great place to relax over a coffee with friends. I reserved a table a couple of days before and was pleased to see a table by the window had been reserved for me and a friend. Great coffee and Lots of lovely pastries, I highly recommend the almond croissants. Friendly and efficient staff. Will definitely visit again.

Just passing through and we felt like a light lunch. The staff were helpful and polite and the restaurant was clean and tidy. Prices are a little on the steep side but the lunch of Pastie and salad and Tuna and Cheese melt was good. Coffee and cake (almond cake and Lardy) was also very good. Payment by card only. Would have given five stars but for the priceyness.

We stopped for a small lunch in Huffkins, Witney as it looked like a nice bakery. The staff were courteous and the place is clean but the food itself was disappointing for the price paid. We had a chicken salad and a beef pasty. The salad was ok but not cleaned properly, with many of the leafy green still having their roots attached. The chicken is fried, not grilled, which is not specified in the menu. Flavour was ok and portion size was normal. The pie was very dry, with little filling and tasted and looked like it may have been out for several hours before being served. Overall a very underwhelming experience especially taking into account we spent almost 30£ of food alone, with just one glass of pepsi. Sadly will not be returning.

I know we have had inflation but this place’s prices are ridiculous. A small crispy chicken burger-style sandwich was £14.50 and our entire lunch with two non-alcoholic drinks was over £33. The food wasn’t bad but not filling and well and truly overpriced. I won’t be returning.

Shocking service told a 20 min wait only to wait an hour for 2 equally shocking toasted sandwiches which were no more than warm. I could gave sent them back but couldn't face an even longer wait. You've only got 1 star and that's because I couldn't put a minus.

Very underwhelmed with lunch experience today - the prices are well overpriced nearly £12 for a simple jacket potato and £7.50 for a milkshake. I had a jacket potato with tuna - which was quite small and it came with a few lettuce leaves - for nearly £12 very dissapointed. Huffkins used to be a little more expensive but you got the service - that's gone now its you go to the counter to order or order online at your table. What's happened - the sole has gone from this place. Overpriced, nothing unique about the place, mediocre food - sad to say the competition has alot more to offer in Witney and looking at the other reviews nothing is changing to keep the cafe attractive and " the place to go " in Witney :-(

Had my daughters baby shower here yesterday. Everything was perfect. The afternoon teas were delicious and very fresh. The waitress Bella looked after us well. Thank you Huffkins 😊

Expensive and food not great quality. I have had better for less and much better for similar money. Also had a hair on my plate which wasn’t appealing.

Visited a year ago , so thought another chance for a lardy card - despite lots of advertising- none available! Had a excellent pot of tea and two very expensive sandwiches. Staff have a adverstion to sweeping floor, always dirty so won't revisit.

I couldn’t eat the Victoria sponge as it was all buttercream with very little sponge and no jam, it was so sickly because there was only 1/2cm of sponge on top and on the bottom and 1.5cms of butter cream. I was very disappointed. A Victoria sponge should be about 4 cms on top and on the bottom.

I've never felt the need to write a review before but I just ordered a jacket potato and a coke at Huffkins for lunch and it cost £17!!! It's shockingly overpriced for the quality of the food. The potato was dry and covered in cheese that had been microwaved for too long. This is unfortunately no longer an affordable lunch spot.

We went to Huffkins Witney Cafe for afternoon tea as part of a Hen Party. The staff were very kind and attentive. The afternoon tea was delicious and we all very much enjoyed. Thank you.

Inattentive staff, same menu for a year, we sat down, waited a while and left. 21/09/23. Dear Jasmine, more than happy to articulate further. We waited quite a while standing at the door to be seated, and we had a 81 years old with us. The venue was not busy at all. Then we were shown to a table -not clean- and left to our own devices. Nobody explained that there was no table service. We tried to draw the attention of a waitress and were duly ignored. After 10 minutes we left. As a note, menu was the same since my last visit in early Spring.

An unpleasant almond croissant, filled with a huge amount of overly-sweet goo, which had no almond flavour. A pot of weak tea rounded it off.

Lovely treat for my daughter but a bit steep even for huffkins at 5.80 per éclair particularly as they were hard and nit that fresh 😔 Very disappointing Coffee ok but again not what I remember from days of yore here 😆

This place has gone downhill. Dry food, dirty chairs. Can even put a bit of cucumber on a salad?!? £7.50 for a smoothie where all the lumps of fruit were at the bottom not blended. Yummy.

Their mini afternoon tea , comprising a full sandwich & a scone with jam & cream, is not only delicious but also excellent value for money.

Amazing freshly cooked breakfast

I decided to venture out to a town I don’t often visit and thought I would avoid more mainstream coffee shops to do some work, I had a few admins bits to do so thought why not make a day off it. So after walking around I chose Huffkins as it seemed quiet and a nice little spot to go to, on entering there was a “Please wait to be seated sign” no wait about it a lovely young lady saw me and come over straight away and sat me down, I requested a bigger table as I would like to spread out my work which she kindly showed me to a bigger table. After sitting down and looking at the most delicious looking menu I chose to have a coconut milk vanilla flat white and a cheese and chutney toasty (Great accommodation for vegetarians and people that can’t have milk) I popped up to the counter and was served by another member of the team who was prompt polite and efficient I did not catch her name but she had blonde hair and glasses and a really genuinely friendly energy around her, I ordered quick and sat down to go about my admin, my drink arrived within a few minutes and not long after the toastie. I have to say I venture to mainstream coffee shops at least once or twice a week and I have to say their coffee does not come close to the most beautifully crafted coffee it was flavourful not too bitter and the coconut milk was smoothly made. I have worked in coffee shops myself and I can tell that this coffee was made with passion rather than a chain where it’s just pumped out. The Toastie and salad I received was beautifully made, nice stringy cheese and the perfect amount of chutney not to much and not to little and even the salad was lovely with a dressing that didn’t take away from the rest of the dish. All the staff here are lovely polite and not overbearing and I find it can be overwhelming going to cafes and restaurants by myself but I think on my next venture out I will be returning with out hesitation if i could give a higher star review I would. Quite nice lunch here, but felt the "Kings Tea" was a bit pricey at £20 along with a toasted sandwich at £14. Helpful staff and loved the tomato chutney in my toastie.

My friend and I went here for birthday lunch the food outstanding and the staff are the nicest people nothings to much trouble we were made so welcome I will definitely be going back.

Good quality food and drinks; nice place; great service. Costs more than some other places, but that's Huffkins quality for you.

The three stars is purely for the staff and the setting. Tea was great, but not much to say positive in regards to the food. Vegan options poor despite online saying they offer a vegan afternoon tea. Belgium bun dry. Lunch offerings basic, no frills and not worth the price considering what you can get at others. The onlu enjoyable thing was an almond croissant. Company really needs to evaluate its offerings and stop relying on their reputation for being a traditional cotswold coffee house to bring customers in. Waitresses were out of this world and are the only reason my mum and I had a wonderful time. Hats of to them for being so charming.

Great place to go for a coffee or something to eat. The first time we went for coffee the service was so good and the chocolate milkshake was amazing. So we went back again for coffee with my friends again the service was amazing and the staff were so friendly and yes so was the chocolate milkshake 😂. They do more than coffee and would highly recommend everyone to this cafe better than going to Starbucks or Costa coffee.

Perfecto lugar para tomar el típico té inglés. Fuimos en grupo y merendamos muy bien. La comida muy rica, es un lugar tranquilo para ir, perfecto para aquellos que quieren un rato de paz. El ‘cream tea’, el té con masitas, es costoso, pero lo vale. Recomiendo ir en grupo para compartir.

Thought the era of vegan alternative sausages being mushy vegetable sticks was left in 90s school dinners, but not here and £9 for the privilege. Generally quite expensive menu. Can normally get a seat though

Went to Huffkins Witney for a family celebration. We had tea, with scones with clotted cream and jam, sandwiches , brownies and pattiseries. Quite an astonishing and delicious spread. We all had a wonderful time, and the waitreses could not have done more to help make our day special- we had all the tea and milk we needed and we had a fabulous day. Several members of the group requested a dairy free option and we were amazed to see just as many lovely dairy free options on the cake tiers as the with dairy option, and very delicious too! We will look forward to returning for more wonderful teas!

The place is lovely and clean and airy with tables spread out enough that you don't feel you are sitting right next to the next table, encroaching on them or sharing your conversation with them. The staff were polite and efficient along with good food provided. We had a lovely lunch and would definitely go again.

It used to be the best cafe in the Cotswolds but has been destroyed by serving poor quality food at over inflated prices! It used to be the best cafe in the Cotswolds but it now sells inferior products and an inflated price. There are far better establishments in every village that you find a Huffkins! They have even destroyed the atmosphere it used to have and people now vote with their feet and the result is that the shops are quite often void of customers!

The food was delicious, even the gluten free sandwiches and scone, the service was quick and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Very disappointing compared to my last visit (pre-pandemic). Unbelievably anaemic tea, a burger which was do dry as to closely resemble cardboard, and no wines by the glass. What has happened to this place?

Two chicken burgers, with crisps (no chips) and two lemonades = £35. Can’t afford to come back 😂

Visited here to break journey from Hereford to home, on a Sunday, place was busy but a table was available - we had snacks and the coffee was good Servicde was quick - could not ask for more
