Costa Coffee in West Oxfordshire

I had a fantastic experience at Costa Coffee thanks to the excellent service from Marija! She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect. My coffee was delicious, and the atmosphere was welcoming. Marija's warm attitude really stood out, making my visit even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this location for great coffee and outstanding customer service!

Water pouring in from air conditioning system. Two white hot chocolates which were luke warm and two gingerbread lattes which tasted like warm milk. Marshmallows were rock hard and the cream was non existent. Won’t be going back.

Random visit for a hot chocolate drink and ham n cheese toasties. Hot chocolate was wishy-washy at best, pretty thin and very bland. 2/10 Toasties, as ham n cheese toasties go not bad, but still pretty plain. The old British Rail catering would have been proud. Cutlery (knives) came with the toasties, more finger prints on them than a CSI convention!

This was the worst ever breakfast I ended up with food poisoning extremely sick the same day not long after sorry to say won’t be returning the breakfast wrap was a complete disgrace and the coffee was awful

The staff are amazing. This is my favourite Costa. Jola and Yasmine are the best. Always very friendly and helpful.

We can in to order a hot chocolate and the women was extremely rude has red hair got are Order wrong and when I corrected her she got rude and huffed at us then slapped are drinks down on the tray and stared

Saturday 4th September 2021, was a warm and sunny day and remained that way all day. My husband and I went out for the day with our friend Jackie to Witney in Oxfordshire. We arrived and parked the car in the free multi-storey car park and we all then decided to go for lunch at ‘Costa Coffee’. Witney ‘Costa Coffee’ was a very clean and bright place with very friendly staff. We found a table with nice comfy sofa’s to sit on. My husband and I had a hot toasted cheese and ham sandwich with an Americano coffee for my husband and a hazelnut latte for me. Jackie had a hazelnut latte and a large slice of lemon drizzle cake. We spent a pleasant hour here enjoying lunch and chatting – a thing we do very well. This is a very nice place to visit if you are in the area.

Went in for a spiced cappuccino but was served normal cappuccino. The place was very busy so maybe the serve did not notice the order. Hope the server paid notice.

Best Costa in town(there are two).Staff are great,friendly and welcoming.My favourite Costa.Use daily.

Really slow service at rush hour time on 11th October 2019, check the camera roll if you need, I waited and waited then left without being served, literally we waited from the back of a moderate queue for fifteen minutes, the two miserable and obviously stressed staff had a trainee member in rush hour. Managers should be reasonable to trainees. Putting someone in at the deep end like that will only cause issues; it's no surprise the should have been more than two staffers looked so down in the dumps and depressed about it. Of course, I had to give a poor rating this time. See my other reviews for a excellent rating of Carterton's less busy Costa. It's good to have trade, and generally standards are decent, especially in the mornings (my fave time to chill). I read newer reviews here which say this CC is refurbished status. I will return anyway, I've experienced much worse. Hence the 5 stars, because I much prefer CC to Starbucks opposite.

we go for coffe 5 mornings a week at welch way costa..the shop is not as clean as it could be..feel sorry for the one member of staff,, working on their own.. till 8 am.. have got fedup waiting to get served.... we r unable to do Apps,, thinking we will go to cafe nero..

This is a very clean and pleasant Costa. Service is excellent with very pleasant staff. The restaurant is clean, as are the toilets. This Costa has recently been refurbished.

Lovely friendly coffee shop. Great coffee and cake. Just had an excellent refurbishment. A pleasure to visit.

We had stopped for a coffee. Had coffee and sandwiches it was very good. The services by the staff was good.

Went here today to grab a coffee . And the queue was long and staff were very slow at serving . Having a laugh with each other more than serving. The girl who was doing the drinks did not wipe the spout when doing different drinks. I had a latte and it tasted like hot chocolate disgusting. Put me off going there.

Whilst waiting to be served I noticed that the aprons the staff were wearing were really grubby . ( not one days work , looked like they had worn them for months without cleaning ) Got served tried to sit down at three tables and all were dirty and sticky . We had to sweep crumbs off the seats etc . I went to the toilet and found them let’s say uninviting . Used nappy on the side and NO SOAP . My partner said there was no soap in the ladies either !!.. My visit was not at peak times so the staff weren’t particularly busy . I notified the staff about toilets but were not bothered and never apologised for there state . Overall cleanliness of the place was off putting and will NOT return ..

Great coffee good service. Excellent service. Staff were marvellous and even brought our coffee outside so we did not have to wait. Excellent customer service and very well mannered people. Will keep coming back when in witney for my break time treat.

Service has been hit and miss the last few times ive used but quality of drinks remain as good as any other costa coffee shop

Im sat here with my friend, drinking out white hot choc which if my fave yet! They do it for the right price for how much you get! Its my fave place to sit eat drink more, its perfect for a family day out or just with your friends, they have a large variety of food and its all very yummy 5 out of 5 starts from me!

I travel a lot, and usually end up in Costas around the UK. This one however has amazed me to the point of writing a review. Wonderful customer service, made to feel very welcome. The lady who served me made me a White Hot Chocolate with syrup remaining from Christmas, my favourite secret drink! For once my drink was actually hot and tasted amazing! The place itself is very comfy and calm compared to all other costas I’ve visited. Can’t recommend enough, I wish there were more this good

On a cold day stopped for a hot coffee. The place was packed. The staff were nice but found it hard to get a seat. The place was clean even though busy.

Freshly made coffee and cookies lovely, spend quite time there. friendly staff and good location. value for money too.

Usual Costa so what more can be said. However, for nicer atmosphere, better coffee, cleaner surroundings head over the road to Caffe Nero

Always feels good to find our favourite coffee shop wherever we visit always first class staff to serve us. Like a home from home.

I always find this Costa the most relaxing, it gets busy but that is to be expected. The staff always seem nice and the main reason I always come back.

The place looked typical Costa, a little untidy, bit sticky, not enough staff leading to queues and very expensive nibbles. 2 coffees and cake £10 thankyou very much. A typical Costa rip off that we all seem to fall for. WHY? The Mocha I had was a poor mix with all the chocolate still in the cup at the end. Not the best and surprising for the town of Witney that I would have expected better.

The coffee quality is poor and unless you ask for a hot cup of coffee it is served just warm. It is an ok place to stop for a quick bite if you are in a hurry or get a take out coffee if you want a warm drink and don't mind poor quality. Too expensive for what it is!

Visited Saturday , filthy tables just left a mess , in fairness as ever understaffed , awful place to have a coffee and not usual costa standard

Entramos por la puerta y estaba lleno de un olor terrible drenaje! ! ! Era un día húmedo, así que me apetecía una bebida caliente, las bebidas estaban bien! El lugar parecía desordenado no muchas mesas estaban limpias y el personal parecía desinteresado. Normalmente visitar otras cadenas de café, me apetecía cambiar, recordado por qué ahora.

Metimos en una especie de capricho y porque era el martillo. No solemos hacer franquicias café y luego me acordé de por qué. Las bebidas que estaban ordenados estaban bien, pero la zona de asientos era horrible. Las mesas no habían sido liquidados, asientos estaba manchada y gastadas. Me recordó a una habitación vieja personal de la escuela - muy sucia y en mal estado. Es una pena.

This place always seems cluttered and tables left with previous customers cups etc. OK for take out but if you want good coffee and decent place to sit and relax, cross over and go to Caffè Nero,!

Always enjoy a lovely hot chocolate drink here and this place never lets me down the staff our friendly and polite the place is always clean and tidy the food is always cooked to order and is always fresh their pre-packed food is always yummy but can be a little bit on the expensive side.

great coffee but can be spoiled by unstable tables as most branches :( Costa!! you need to adopt a self cleaning tray system. Tables mostly full of rubbish. not unique to this branch,

Quick friendly service inspite of being busy. Can always rely on Costa ,for their food and coffees being reliable and of the same good standard .

Still our first choice Costa when in Witney. Small outlet in relatively new building - good location with free multi-storey car parking opposite (behind M&S)Clean outlet and attentive barista's - can be crowded and noisy at peak times, but I guess that is not unusual in most Costa's!

This is the best coffee around, nice medium coffee and not too strong. The food is delicious and the staff are always friendly. This is our weekly treat that we look forward too!

A calm comfortable cosy retreat from the hustle of Christmas! AND I could hear what the pleasant friendly staff were saying to me.....unlike other coffee houses where the noise and acoustics make conversation impossible!....by the way the coffee was also good!!

We brought our daughter for her treat of the week last Friday hot chocolate with marshmallows cream flake crumbling on the top Top marks you not only made a little girls day Mum.mobile and dads coffee was lovely also Thank you x

I use Costa a lot it's always my first choice when available and this one is one of the best I've been too . Fast efficient and friendly service

The service was excellent and the coffee was well served. There was plenty of seating even though it was lunch time and busy and the tables were all cleared and clean.

Spent a lot of time here whiling away the hours, reading newspapers, fretting about circumstances which had brought me back to England. Ordering stuff I didn't really want/need. Casual, and a balm.

Its a small place its hard to manover buggy..but not impossible. The staff are helpful and try to assist you

I like my coffee and probably visit 3-5 times a week. I always receive good service and recommend highly for that reason.

It's a pretty standard Costa which means decent quality all around. It opens earlier than most other shops in town and is a great place to get energized for the day ahead.

I use this branch of Costa most days as I work near by and pop in for a drink at lunch time. It's your average Costa coffee shop.....all you'd expect, really. It can get very busy, and the staff always seem to struggle with clearing the tables, especially at lunchtimes, and most days I generally either have to sit surrounded by someone elses dirty plates, or clean my own table if there's somewhere to move it all to. The worst element of coming here is the unfriendly service. You get ignored whilst queuing while the staff chat amongst themselves, and I've had eyes rolled at me many times if I've dared to ask a question or forgotten to hand over my Costa loyalty card. Even after coming in regularly for two years, its difficult for anyone to smile. There is one Barista, Jola, who is the exception this, and when she is there she is always very welcoming, but the others make you feel as though you are being a nuisance. I probably wouldn't choose to use this branch of costa if it wasn't so close to my place of work - its just an escape at lunchtimes. I certainly wouldn't frequent it on my days off - I'd go somewhere I feel welcome.

I usually pop in for a quick coffee before business meetings in Witney. This is probably the smallest Costa I have ever visited! The staff are super friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming. Finding a place to sit does get a little tricky during peak times and as a consequence, the cafe does feel a little cramped and noisy.I would visit with friends and family again, especially for a cup of delicious hot chocolate during the winter months!

....... but in good location, not huge but seating well set out and comfortable (not the new ridiculous 1950's style uncomfortable seating)Friendly and attentive baristas and relatively clean outlet considering we visited at a busy time.Of the two Costa's in Witney this one would be our first choice!

Ordered a chai latte, not having one before, and thought it had a shot of expresso. When I discovered it didn't, I was disappointed, but was quickly offered a shot at an extra price. This level of service is great, and were thinking in the spot. Great people

Excellent choice of cakes and biscuits, served with a delicious cup of tea. The only critisism I have, is that I would prefer it if they could serve the tea in a lighter weight cup i.e. fine bone china, which would be a much nicer experience for a cup of tea.I recommend the cinnamon croissants!

We enjoyed a lovely latte on route to our hotel. Perfect pick me up! The staff were very friendly. I was pleased to see the toilets were very clean, makes a big difference!

I had to seek a quiet retreat while my Wife assaulted the sale bargains in Witney. I found Costa Coffee, an outlet I often use in other towns but one I've never visited in this town.There was no queue to be served. I ordered a chocolate “with all the extras” from a Barista who'd totally lost her voice – a novel experience. The drink cost £3.85p, which I thought a little excessive, but I did get four marshmallows and two chocolate flakes. Almost all the chairs were stained and most of the tables had sticky surfaces. While I was there, a period of 45 minutes, I saw tables cleared but no disinfectant sprays used. The outlet has a rating of '5' on the 'Scores On The Doors' scheme. The drink was luxurious and I enjoyed it. The venue appeared to be busy. I'd visit again but I think that the cost of the hot chocolate was more than I've previously paid, for the same drink, in other Costa outlets.

Costa have 2 shops in Witney and this is the poor second. Bland food and poor coffee made too quick to have any distinctive taste. Just because they are a chain doesn't mean they can't have some interaction with customers for that personal touch.

Have only had coffee and cake at Costa, as we normally pass this place. Pleasant staff and willing to help you.

Great place to stop for a coffee.Definitely recommend their coffee cooler on a warm day - the best drink ever. Staff very friendly and put orders together quickly. Always seating available and tables are kept clean. Cannot fault.

After I had a meeting at work I walked to town to try and calm down from the meeting and I walked into Costa which had no cues and ordered a vanilla latte with two extra shots to take away and I always get welcomed by the staff with a lovely smile and they always ask me how I am which is nice when a lot of other shops don't smile don't ask you how you are in fact they make you feel very unwelcome so thank you Costa for making me smile .

Conveniently-located Costa, pleasant and welcoming staff. Excellent coffee - and newspapers! Located in the centre of the main shopping area and close to a free car park

Friendly staff, quick service. Good coffee and walnut cake and brownie. Great milk shakes and asked if we wanted cream on the top - yes please! Clean toilet with soap and toilet paper!

I popped into Costa today for a cool drink it was quite quiet and there was only one person in front of me. I was in a bit of a hurry so was conscious of the time. The staff were more interested in chatting with the woman in front of me about where they were all going later rather than serving me. It took me a good 10 minutes to be served I found it was rude and entirely Unprofessional. And of course when finally was served it was more of a I can't be bothered attitude rather than a how can I help one. Was disappointed as the drink was really nice but I think IL pop to another chain in the future.

I have been in several times and toilets are never clean and tidy, and always smell. Yuck. This is typical of Costa in my experience. Otherwise it is also a typical Costa.

I love a Costa and where ever i go i always find one. I love the hot chocolate with a bit of cinnamon in and a lemon slice. Can't wait for the great selection of christmas drinks.

We stopped for a coffee here on our way to chipping norton and the cafe is very busy, it has the usual biscuits minimum sandwiches sect...the coffees were good. There is a toilet at the back, other than that, not much to say.

Love their coffee a d clean toilets,. Always easy to find and good standard everywhere. Always nice range of slices although its much cheaper to buy things at Gregg's and eat them outside after your coffee. Plenty of seats in the area.

I adore Costa Coffee but surprisingly they vary a bit from one to the other. This one in Witney is on the average side of good. When I visit the town again I'll probably try one of the independent cafés instead, although the chances of the coffee being as good are slim.
