Staff attentive and friendly. Quick service and nice food. My Dad really enjoyed the Risotto- highly recommend. Great atmosphere and lovely music playing!

We used to live nearby and the food in this place was always quite nice. Not so much now. Very disappointed On arrival we were told we could sit anywhere, first alarm as it shows no reservations Even though not many of the tables were taken, We were left for 10 minutes before even being asked if we wanted a drink My daughter ordered the steak and sweet potato fries, I ordered the fish and chips. The meals arrived, the plates were literally dropped on the table and fries came off the plate, picked up off the table and back on my plate My daughter got normal fries instead of sweet potato so she had to sit and watch me eat whilst they corrected the mistake I had to put my hand up to get the waitress attention for condiments for my dinner such as vinegar etc My fish batter was greasy and fish was really mushy. Mushy peas came in a tiny tiny ramekin, two little forks worth. My daughter’s meal finally turned up and looked miserable. The steak came sliced, and I know why, it was tiny!! Never asked if we wanted another drink. Never asked if our meal was okay. We had enough We got up from our table and went up to the counter to pay I usually always leave a tip but how can you!! This place has ruined itself

Celebrating my Mums 78th, a group of 10 of us visited this lovely pub for a celebration birthday lunch. A lovely environment very spacious very cozy, although it was a cold day the gardens at the back looks spacious and beautiful. We were seated on the long table at the back of the pub which was nice and semi private, staff were incredible, friendly, the food was incredible, we did have to wait quite a long time for the food however, it was worth the wait because it was cooked to older and was of the highest standard. The staff were accommodating and looked after a birthday cake that we bought for Mum and bought out with candles, a great experience, Highly recommended and we will go again.

Don't know what others were eating here, maybe an off night when we visited. But any pub worth going to doesn't serve frozen onion rings £5 a bowl. My wife's chicken burger was tough all around edges so she left this, my burger wasn't that warm. £18 for a burger and frozen chips we think is overpriced especially when not the best and not even hint of side salad. When chap came to collect plate's we gave feedback but fell on deaf ears. I tip well if happy with food, hence sorry no tip and won't be rushing back.

We had lunch here and it was delicious. Butchers cut for 2 and upgraded to half bbq rack added to the dish, and finished off with the most amazing cheesecake :) Quick friendly service, the food arrived quickly and everything fairly priced. Large car park on site with free parking.

Ate here yesterday after a walk in the area. The pie was excellent. Proper thick chips that were crispy and delicious - not the horrible reconstituted ones you get in some pubs. Really friendly staff and lovely to sit out in the garden in the sunshine.

Lunch of ham, egg and chips: Two superb fried eggs on slightly watery home cut ham. Very good fries. Lovely serving staff. Needs better quality ham.

We went for a Sunday roast, we both had the large roast beef. Food was hot and very tasty. Staff were friendly.

Fantastic pies and sea bass. Friendly atmosphere, lovely staff, especially the long-haired waiter! Highly recommend the haloumi. The building and garden are also gorgeous, and the decorations are just precious.

Sadly after recommending this place to family we were very let down.. on arrival we were told the beef was all gone which was a shame when booking a roast dinner so we ordered other stuff including starters. after 45 mins they came and told us some of these meals were also not available!! so ordered other things. Took another 45 mins to come out. Food when it arrived mostly disappointing, rock hard dried up potatoes and squashed soggy yorkshires :( Starters never turned up at all We were never asked if we wanted more drinks, dessert or coffees had to go to the bar for a drink. No real apology for our poor experience or anything knocked off the bill. A real shame.

A typical English atmosphere with a pleasant garden and a place for children.

We dropped in for a lunchtime bite and a drink. The main restaurant was closed. The bar area was small but okay. We left because the chap serving behind the bar was more interested in doing his chores than talking to me.

Each time the menu changes we retry here but it's still not great for non-meat eaters. Charging extra for peas with fish and chips is taking the peas! Would be nice to have local breweries on tap

We ordered the steak for 3 the flavours were lovely the steak was tough and chewy it was put on top of a whole bag of French fries I think, I did tell the waitress it was tough and just got a oh, I took the meat home for my dog, never again and I would not recommend.

Really enjoyed our visit here today. Delicious food and great service. We’re quite picky about food quality but have no hesitation in recommending this venue 👍

Called into the George & Dragon Long Hanborough with family for Sunday lunch having just driven back from Devon. So pleased we did,we all had the roast beef it was delicious. Beef was tender, veg perfect and the gravy was delicious all topped off with great service. Thank you !

Steak for 2 and peppercorn sauce was delish!

The only thing I didn't like was they let dogs in which I'm not a fan of when your eating a meal, but apart from that lively pub

We picked The George and Dragon to meet up with friends for Sunday lunch today, it was a halfway point for us all. We were not disappointed as the food was excellent, three of us had roast chicken and one had the roast beef. Good portions, chicken was really tender as was the beef and great choice of veg. Our server, I wish I had asked her name was friendly and very helpful and so we will definitely visit the pub again, definitely worth the journey.

Have just enjoyed the best meal I have had in a pub for many a year. The food was quite superb at a reasonable price. The service was excellent from the serving staff and in addition they were welcoming and very helpful. Thank you G and D look forward to returning soon !!!

Had a nice meal in the G&D, first since the new management took over! It has definitely improved and worthy of some local support. It would be good to see some daily specials advertised to bring some local custom. Good for meeting friends and if we get some sun hopefully will be nice in the garden.

We dropped in quite early in the evening for something to eat. The young staff were welcoming and attentive and the place was warm and inviting. The food arrived quickly and the ham was excellent and the chips nice and crispy. Because it was so early the atmosphere was a bit subdued, but it was warming up as we left so our experience might not be typical.

The food was delicious! But states on their website they are dog friendly but when we arrived to eat in the restaurant they told us they only allowed dogs in the bar so had to sit in the bar with 2 young children. I wouldn't be so annoyed except we called 10 times with no answer and I mean literally 10 times. Their excuse for not allowing us to sit in the restaurant with our dog was "incase people had allergies" as if people couldn't have allergies in the bar area. 🤦‍♀️. Food was good service not so great.

3 of us had lunch today in the G&D. The service was excellent, the food was fresh and very tasty and the atmosphere was friendly! It had been a few years since we last had a meal here and it wasn’t pleasant at all! I’m glad we decided to return today. Lovely traditional village pub. Perfect for lunch after a walk at Blenheim. Most items on the menu can suitable for gluten intolerance which was great for me. Also friendly staff.

Very disappointed. For £19, I had the pie of the day which had virtually zero meat and pastry-like greased cardboard, which was accompanied by a spoonfull of mashed, tasteless cabbage and a bit of potato. I wouldn't give this to my dog.

Went here for food but the kitchen was closed that day. Confirmed with the bar staff if the kitchen would be open the next day and was told yes. Returned the next day to find the kitchen closed again. Disappointing.

Hello, today we came to this nice place, we were at the playground nearby with the whole family and we got caught in the rain, and since it's a long way from home, we decided to go somewhere to warm up and eat something because we were a little hungry. Very nice service, the waiter immediately found a place for us, very nice atmosphere, such a family atmosphere, a lot of guests inside, so it's a sign that the food is good, very nice decor, a lot of work has been put into the tab, nice atmosphere, nice guests, sometimes it's worth going somewhere away from home, modern hotels pubs are ok, but to learn about English history, I encourage you to visit older places full of people. Really great antique tables, benches and chairs inside, a very nice time spent with the family. The food is delicious, the menu is small, but I can't wait, there is plenty to choose from, the prices are great, and the beer is great everywhere. I highly recommend it.

I used to live in Carterton along time ago ,now travel from St neots cambs to have a meal here with friends the food service is fantastic well worth a visit

Sunday roast is very good. Very polite and helpful restaurant staff. Bar service isn't great. Barmen didn't even acknowledge our presence and kept chatting to other member of staff.

Say hello to £9 pork and £8 prawns starters.. our steak was ok but definitely underwhelming starters for the price (we even mentioned we were disappointed but it didn’t land anywhere).. i think we wont rush back

Haven't been for some while - garden is like a building site. Ladies toilet out of action disabled toilet was under water coming into hall. Small fish and chips - the fish was the size of a large fish finger at 11.50 was not value for money.

Really lovely pub! Nice menu and food is really tasty. Atmosphere great and has really lovely outdoor area to enjoy food and drink in. The car park is really spacious so you can always get parked which is really handy and David the manager and his team are always on hand to help with whatever you require! Really recommend.

Big pub on the main road. Large car park. Several rooms and large garden with Aunt Sally. Usual beers on keg plus Charles Wells on draught. Very welcoming and nice pint of beer. Food is served, but did not try.

We've been here a few times now as it is our local pub. Always have had good food and reasonably priced. Staff are friendly as a local pub should be. Looking forward to going again as we really enjoy going here.

Had a really lovely lunch on Monday, they went the extra mile with the food, and the menu has enough variety and sides that one on a low-carb diet is able to have a tasty meal. Friendly service and a traditional pub feel. We definitely will be coming back.

We visited after a long walk but unfortunately just missed the window for food The friendly staff kindly offered us a huge bowl of the best roast potatoes and a pot of gravy! Good selection of drinks and lovely garden. Will definitely be revisiting

We booked a family meal here (booking of 12) and it was made so easy as the staff replied to emails very quickly and sent through menus for us to pre-order. On the day, the food came out very quickly and everything was delicious! The waitresses were very attentive too. We will definitely be back, thank you!

Cudos to new chef and greatly improved menu. Lots of new dishes, decent portions and good prices. If it says "spicy" on menu - it is really spicy on the plate.

Dog friendly pub. Came here after a long walk from Blenheim on the 2nd of Jan. Tried all the pubs at woodstock and everywhere were fully booked and busy. Found this pub on the way home. We had the classic burger and steak, cheesy chips chili con. Great food! Would come back again.

I had the pleasure to get some work done from the pub (it was so nice and cool during the heat this summer) and also enjoying their famous Duck Fries. The food was amazing and alone worth the 30min walk I had to do to get there. But the overall friendliness of the staff and flexibility of giving me a table with a plug was the dot on the eye. Thank for an enjoyable midweek afternoon.
