Visited this lovely historic pub yesterday with friends . The staff were great when we popped in for a drink at midday . However, when we returned after our lunch the Pub Manager ( bearded gentleman) was exceptionally rude and difficult because he did want us standing at the bar in a less packed section of the pub . Had there been any room elsewhere we would have moved . He sadly lacked any customer skills and was quite threatening.

10 of us had our Christmas party at the Lamb last Saturday (December 7th). We were blown away by how fantastic the service was and how much attention we were given considering how busy it was. The cauliflower soup and the Christmas pudding were excellent. All wines we tasted were great. Would highly recommend. It is not easy to serve a table of 10, in December, in a packed pub. The Lamb is a quintessential British pub located a short walk from Russell Square, making it easily accessible for both locals and visitors. The ambience is inviting, with charming Victorian decor and a hidden garden for alfresco dining. The service is notably prompt, ensuring that patrons feel well taken care of. Their appetizers are particularly delicious, featuring seasonal British dishes that are both hearty and flavorful. This pub is an excellent spot for socializing, attracting a diverse crowd looking to unwind after work or enjoy a casual meal. On our first visit, we ordered roasted chicken for Sunday. And fish and chips. Both were great. On our last visit, we wanted roasted beef. However, it was so thick that we couldn't eat it. They brought a few more soft pieces, and we were able to eat half of them, the ones that were soft enough to eat. In summary, I never recommend choosing beef. They're not good at meat. We stayed at the Lamb Inn for 2 nights in September whilst attending a friends wedding. We paid just under £300 for 2 nights. It was expensive for the size of the room, which was extremely small. There were also no mirrors in the room, just a small one in the bathroom, so it was really hard to get ready for a wedding - girls I’m sure you’ll understand my pain! It’s best to book but they will always try to accommodate. And it’s fab that it’s open everyday til late. It has become our favourite pub in London. The chefs also need a special mention. Four of us ate here the food was ok nothing special tho. My reason for the review was whilst I was still eating the plates of the other three were taken away which to my way isn’t the correct way to go about things. Not only that but I still hadn’t finished when my plate was taken from me by leaning across the front of the person sitting next to me. We had booked our table and I can only assume they wanted rid of us. I hasten to say I won’t be going again.

My husband and I have visited twice in recent weeks. The food hasn't disappointed and the service has been spot on. Our second visit was during half term and was busier. The busyness did not negatively affect the experience. Even though there is a slop for easier access at the front of the establishment, there is no disabled parking, which is a little disappointing. Overall, this is an excellent venue for an intimate date or for a meal with friends.
