Too busy on a Sunday. Kept waiting for far too long. Food not as good as expected. Better Sunday lunches nearby.

Fantastic service and a truly great meal, always appreciate a smaller menu with lesser choices done to a high standard than some places that do too much. It's normally the deserts that let a place down, but everything was absolutely fantastic here, fresh and great quality, will definitely be back if ever visiting the area again, thank you!

Delightful pub/restaurant. We visited on Sunday wanting a good roast and was not disappointed. The service was excellent, very attentive, the choice of starters, super, and the roasts themselves, really top notch. Between our party we had the beef, chicken and the beetroot and goats cheese tart, all were so tasty, as close to a home cooked Sunday lunch as you could get. Our young grandson just had a yorkshire pud to himself, nice touch. Lovely desserts, wine and ales too. Well done Kingham Plough, we look forward to our next visit.

Pleasant staff, nice varied menu, good food generally but not great as other reviews suggest. Service was good, staff friendly, we thought the food was ok, it was tasty but there were flaws. My husbands tuna was virtually raw, the tomatoes in the salad were slimy and the lettuce wasn’t as fresh as it could have been. Perhaps we chose the wrong dish, either way, it was alright just not great as I’d expected.

Vacationing in The Cotswolds and staying at The Wild Rabbit in Kingham. Walked down the street to the Kingham Plough. What a wonderful experience! Warm, comfortable, quintessential Cotswolds. For appetizer, Smoked Haddock Rarebit … delicious. For dinner we shared the Smokin’ Brothers Dry Aged Salmon Shank. Without words … I have not had a more deliciously prepared salmon. Substitute the fries for Rainbow Slaw and you have hit the perfect combination. Nice ambiance and friendly service. Delightful evening.

Firstly, Kingham Plough is situated in a lovely area, lovely restaurant and the food is amazing and staff friendly! On arrival, room 2, we first spotted a can of raid and then a cluster of flies in the bedroom. I believe a net for the main window will counter this issue. Bedroom was lovely except this. Tiny tiny toilet room, with the toilet quite difficult to flush, so would suggest a modern button mechanism to flush. All the environments were very clean. Coffee and various teas were available, unfortunately without milk, until the following morning, when a small bottle was left outside the room for 7.30am. Sachets of milk or at point of checking in milk offered, would be great. Lovely biscuits were in the room! Would also make sweetener available too. Breakfast was from 8.30am-10am, which we found quite late, given we wanted to make the most of the few days we were in the Cotswolds. The breakfast service although polite, was slow and quite limited, compared to other venues I have stayed at, and given this is £175 per night, feel more should be offered and enabling certain items, drinks, toast, cereal could be self service and would speed up the service. Offering more than one choice from the breakfast menu would give more value for money. For me and my wife to return to the Kingham Plough, I would suggest they offer greater choice giving greater value for money as set out above.

Delicious Sunday roast. We made a reservation for a large group of 11 people on a busy Sunday afternoon.in the middle of peak summer tourist season. The table was ready on-time, the service was fantastic and the food was delicious. The staff were super nice and accommodated some tricky dietary restrictions within our group. My 80-year old aunt, who is an Olympic Champion at complaining, said it was the best Sunday Roast she's ever eaten at a restaurant. She wants to make a return trip to the Cotswolds, specifically to eat at the Kingham Plough.

The place itself is very rustic, I am not sure if that’s a positive or not. The food was quite acceptable but not good enough to add an additional 12% to the bill. Drinks were already overpriced so to add 12% as well was a bit over the top.

Had best leek and potato soup ever and roast dinner was one of the best ever veggies porkies and potatoes great. Personally would prefer smaller roast potatoes. Only criticism would be chairs little uncomfortable for long lunch and latte's were a bit lukewarm. Other chairs were available, there was a mixture so suppose its just lucky dip and wouldn't let it stop me from experiencing this lovely venue again.

First time eating at The Kingham Plough which was our first night in Kingham in 2023 having seen it previously in 2022. Log fires burning, we were initially going to be offered a nice table in the vaulted hall but I asked for a table in the pub bit so we could see the fire, absolutely no problem. Service was swift, friendly, attentive, couldn't ask for more from a pub at this price point - service was better than another establishment in Kingham I could name. Meal was as described, made from scratch and a good price point, wouldn't hesitate to go back there.

Starter was bubble & squeak, quail egg, parmesan crisps. At £12, vastly overpriced. Taste was ok but far too expensive for what was on the plate. Main course was the cheeseburger for £17. This is a great restaurant and pub facility with fantastic surroundings. Lunch is an exceptional experience and service however, an evening is a somewhat different experience altogether. We specifically asked for a table in a part of the dining /bar area when we book and, to make matters worse we were sat at the table when we booked it for the following week so no confusion there. We were assured that would be the table although, instead on arrival 3 day later, we were told that specific table we had pre booked was not available! We ended up on a ‘window sill’ seating arrangement, the most uncomfortable eating position I’ve experienced since short trousers’, committed to a single course and left. Both sides lost out as our 3 course dinner experience and bottle of wine was exchanged for a sharp drink, single course and out. We would have been happy to pay any surcharge, if requested for a table allocated for more than the two of us if required. Poor service and clearly no organisation.

This restaurant does not deserve at all the reputation it boosts. We have been put in a very uncomfortable table (if you can name it a table, for there was only one chair to sit and the remaining place was on a bench 6-7 inches large), even though we had booked in advance and normal tables remained available throughout our dinner. The starter with fish was so spicy one would believe to be in an Indian restaurant. The wine served was definitely hot (alas, typical of the UK but you should not pay 80 GBP each to be served hot red wine), and if you order by the glass they do not even show the bottle from where the wine comes: it could be any wine anywhere. Finally, I ordered a glass of port wine which was served again hot and directly in the glass, tasting like cork, and probably from a bottle opened centuries ago. Bad!

If you are a pub/restaurant off the beaten track which requires guests to drive out of their way to get to you and you advertise "alongside our all-day bar menu and à la carte dining" then don't put on a miserable face and turn people away cause you are not doing food (for whatever undisclosed reason). Arrived at 3.45PM and walked past people in the garden eating pub food only to be told when I picked up a menu that they weren't doing food that day. They then adjusted that to say the kitchen closed at 4PM (which would have meant we had another 10 mins to order and we had a good idea of what we wanted) and were promptly made to feel unwelcome. If you want to be in the hospitality business then understand the brief about being hospitable!

I went to The Lamb this evening for a beer and was very impressed. The atmosphere was quiet, with a local clientele, without tourists (except me), which made the experience even more authentic. The girl who served me was nice and kind, adding a personal touch to the service. The pub has a charm that reflects its history, and allowed me to have an authentic London pub experience. It's a shame I didn't try the cuisine, but I can say I left very satisfied. Advised!

In contrast to some recent reviews, we had a great meal. Buzzy bar, busy restaurant, friendly staff and warm ambience. Brisket bites great. Mussels good. Calves liver and braised beef cheek both great.
