The Golden Palace in West Oxfordshire

I've been going to this delightful little takeaway ever since it first opened some 30 years ago. Consistently reliable, service with a smile and excellent Chinese food only a 5min walk from my home! Prices are very good too! It can get busy at certain times of day and orders taken by phone can take a little time, but walk-in orders are normally turned round pretty quickly. Cash only, but there's an ATM next door. The menu is quite comprehensive, but isn't available on-line.

Normal wait is only 15 min - 20 min for food collection. Food is always lovely. Will continue to be our regular.

They are bad at answering phones as I have rang over 100 times and have no answer in over an hour not very good

Well priced, food is good quality for a local Chinese. Staff seem nice and turnaround time is okay too! Shame they don't have a menu online that we can find.

We tend to choose the Golden Palace despite it not being as close as others to where we live because we enjoy the food and it's reasonably priced. We tend to turn up order and wait. Never felt like a long wait though, what you would expect.

Phone ordered at 19:10 on a Saturday night for food to collect. Arrived to collect the food after 40 minutes only to be told it would be another 45 minutes! Even sat waiting the staff were still not being honest to customers with wait times as people ordered. There were lots of disgruntled customers waiting. I suspect may now lost customers. Hence the title for the review. Why not be honest with customers?

Order from here quite a lot and have never been disappointed, food is clean and doesn’t look fatty or greasy. The kung po chicken and chiu yim ribs are definitely my favourite dishes. We are very picky when it comes to finding a good Chinese and The Golden Palace is definitely one of our faves.

We have been customers of the Golden Palace for many years. We’ve never had a bad meal yet! Everything ordered is received hot and delicious. It can’t be faulted! I have no hesitation in recommending it.

Best Chinese around. Perfect food fast delivery. Would highly recommend too anyone wanting a Chinese. Very friendly

We had a takeaway here and it was much better than we anticipated, I also thought the service was excellent! Very polite staff who are very helpful!

Chicken noodles was awful, covered in Greece so much it was like a soup! Chicken was like jelly! And noodles covered in lettuce? Egg fried rice was ok? Lemon and honey chicken dry and was no lemon or honey taste about it. Curry sauce ok, sweet & sour sauce ok! BBQ ribs hardly any meat just bones really. Wouldn't recommend to anyone or ever order from there again.

Love this place - it's our 'go to' place if we want a takeaway. Food is delicious, and their prices are competitive. Don't hesitate!

We have this regular it is the best in witney, wish they would take cards as payment, and give out prawn crackers over say £15 like other towns

wanted to order food for delivery but they don't accept card payments!!! did themself out of custom.

Have had takeaways from this place for years but after not ordering from here for a year or so , the prices or very high for very little (compared to similar in town). Do not order any vegetable dishes, they stuff them full of black bean!

The food is really good and they have a wide variety of foods there to try and it isn't very expensive at all. They have a reasonable waiting time and the people that work there are very nice :)

Always enjoy my take away from here and always recommend to friends and family!
