Disappointing birthday treat. The worst Chinese I've ever had. The food was lukewarm, greasy and lacking flavour, save your cash.

Terrible. Special fried rice had no egg or peas and prawns were transparent and hard. Very little filling and rice was tasteless. Worst Chinese food I have tasted in years. Very sore stomach afterwards. Do not use!

Everything tasted artificial. The chips were dry The shredded chicken was in a very soft and mush batter. The Chow Mein was bland with tiny cubes of meat that all tasted very similar and the chunks of garlic were very hard. It cost £39 and it felt like such a waste of money. Ready in ten minutes at dinner time on a Saturday should I told me what I needed to know.

Great service, really polite. I wasn’t a fan of the food. I felt the batter was too heavy and the noodles very dry. On the plus side, the food was not greasy at all.

Food is tasty and of good quality, only down side is the portion sizes regarding meat dishes. I feel you do not get enough meat in the likes of a chicken curry or beef green pepper and black bean. Prices are OK.

If you are scotish dont go near this place they refuse to take scotish money as they say its not legal very ignorant people

Tonight I ordered a takeaway stated for the dish I ordered not to have onions in as I have allergies,collected it and got home to find out it wasn't even what I had ordered plus it had huge pieces of onion in!!!rang them to explain and could I have something else or could it be changed,the response was yes but at my expense again,they wouldn't even replace the meal free of charge even though it was there fault and for the difference of £1.40p very poor customer service,i felt that they didn't really care either,so as I told them it's there business not mine and based on today's attitude I will not be using them again! Shame when you live local and try and support local businesses but clearly it isn't worth it!

Hi Tanya Fulker, I’m so sorry that you’re not happy with what you have received from your order tonight, but I have to tell you that we have double checked the meal you have returned, there is no onion at all, they’re Chinese leaves and leek, just like I said in the phone when you called back to complain. About the £1.40 you’ve mentioned, this is the price in difference of what you wanted later on, you wanted to change one meal to two instead. Hope you would enjoy the food in other places.

I have been going to this Chinese for years, I’ve always loved it and it’s been my favourite. The last few I have got have been awful. The sweet and sour sauce is vile it’s got a vinegar/chemical taste it’s horrible. Other meals were bland and had no flavour. My old favourite meals have changed for the worse, I’m confused as it was always so nice. Put up the price but the quality has really gone downhill. Really disappointed as this was my go to Chinese.

The szechuan king prawns were chewy like rubber.couldnt even eat them

Ordered my standard order - compared to the shop 4 metres down the road (my regular Chinese that was unfortunately closed) it was pretty mid, pork was sooooo thin & sweet and sour sauce was very vinegary, also very expensive considering what I got - go to imperial chef if you can this is 2nd last option

Tastless, unbelievably small portions. Special curry had a mountain of mushrooms and 3 pieces of meat. Spent £35 and only fed my children due to the amount of food given, plus food was quick and cold. Avoid at all costs!

200% recommend to anyone looking for a Chinese takeaway. The sweet and sour chicken was delightful. Food was well packed and enjoyable to eat.

It isn't a restaurant anymore, but the takeout food was AMAZING! The salt and pepper chicken was well seasoned and delicious and the beef with oyster sauce was great! The set meals are also quite good as they are well priced for their items. The person at the front desk was kind and friendly, so there were absolutely no issues whatsoever.

Had a takeaway it was so disappointing .ordered noddles not the best beancurd was just soggy surpost to be crispy as for the chips how can you go wrong thay where cooked about three times .waste of money .

Had a sit in meal for my mothers birthday was absolutely delicious. Ordered loads of dishes between 6 of us.staff was helpful with ordering dishes not too spicy.

Called in on the off chance and we were served up two lovely main courses. Would definitely recommend this eatery.

Been getting Friday night takeaways from here for years and the whole family has always enjoyed them. Not sure how authentic the food is but when it tastes this yummy, who cares? Thanks Beijing Gourmet!

Called in for a quick meal before heading to the nearby theatre to sea a film. It's a small place, with prices a bit on the high side for the prevailing decor and ambience. The menu and the resulting food was pretty standard fare, on a par with what you might expect from takeaways throughout Oxfordshire, wit no particular stype or flair. Service was brisk and efficient.

Decided to go this Chinese for my take away after my last take away from my village some 8 miles away hadn't been good. That said that meal was still 100 times better than the appalling tasteless food I was treated too. I've never ever had beef in black bean sauce, or sweet and sour chicken that was so tasteless. Both dishes were made up of over 50% raw onion or pepper. As for the salt and chilli ribs, well after one bite I had to throw them away as they were just grissle. I won't go back and I wouldn't recommend them

Staying self catering near by. Normally I am not a Chinese lovely however this was beautiful with none of that horrible thirst that sometimes you get from a Chinese... would highly recommend

Usually use this take away over the last 5 years, have had under cooked chicken balls and did not say anything last time, but sadly it happened again last night.And the chicken in the chicken with lemon dish was thin, dry, the coating was tasteless hard and dry, wasn't even hot. Costs more to drive to Witney but we will not be using the Beijing again.

Excellent reasonably priced Food.

We booked a table here, and on arrival we could see it was a small place, we were shown to our table, where no Prawn Crackers were given or offered, drinks order taken and straight away were we ready to order!!! There were no food warmers, so when food came it went straight on the table, so you felt you had to eat it quick. Value for money, unfortunately no, the food itself was really nice. Would we go back probably not.

My OH wanted to go, but I had read some reviews from 6 months ago. So I asked our very pleasant waitress if the food was cooked fresh. We had S/S chicken balls which were the best we've had anywhere (they were actually long shaped pieces of chicken & nicely crisp). Spicy beef satay and usual accompaniments. Will definitely go again - I'm the one always to complain, but no complaints tonight.

Really good food, it doesn’t look much but looks are deceiving as the food is fast, fresh and traditional. If your looking for fancy surroundings this is not the place for you but if your looking for good Chinese food then you can’t go wrong. Also the only place in town to get a Chinese takeaway since the Thai Shire stopped doing them. Have tried a lot of dishes and all are good, worth a try.

There are, to my great surprise, three fastish-food Chinese restaurants in our tiny town! Until we tried this one, we'd only dined at the one closest to us and were only compelled to order from Beijing Gourmet when the other was closed. We were pleased it turned out to be just as great and even better on some of our favorite dishes. Would definitely recommend the crispy duck to those inclined, and I loved the shredded chili chicken. Have dined twice here - once for takeout and once dine-in. For the latter, the food came really quickly!

We have visited this restaurant probably 3 times a year for the past 5 years or so. Add to that numerous take aways and, well, you get my drift. We use it quite a lot because the service is excellent and the food is good, sometimes excellent. Although the name would indicate that it was a Chinese restaurant, it is not. It serves Indonesian, Thai and Chinese in equal measure. We have never come away disappointed.

Popped in to Chipping Norton for the evening, had a drink in a lovely pub and wanted a light bite.

Had a meal with my husband we decided to try a meal in the restaurant, the service was quick and the staff were polite. Food was good but a little expensive. Lots of people getting a takeaway.

Staff very nice but unfortunately not the food.

We were warmly greeted on arrival by a smiling faced man! Good selection of food on the menu, would recommend the pork dumplings! We were served rapidly and with yet more smiles. The owners take an interest in each person that comes through the door. My daughter loved it!

My partner and myself having just moved into the area decided to take a chance on Beijing Gourmet and we ate in at the restaurant. The menu is basic takeaway but the prices are inflated. Starving we carried on with our order. The food was served super quick (cant complain about that) the waitress couldn't wait to take our plates away... nearly had to fight her off to finish my food... when she did come to take the plates away so took the table cloth off as well - jus strange as my beer was still on the table. As I say average in everyway just over the odds on the price.

Nice and local but the sizes of the meals could be a bit bigger/the prawn/chicken balls could be 1.5x/2x the amount. Best one in Chipping Norton area I've tried.

Really dissapointed. Very little dish and taste, not worth the money. Optional service charge for 2 people without informing the customer. Never again

Small but we'll run Chinese restaurant. Very nice food & plenty takeaway meals were being taken as we sat in restaurant as visitors so locals must like it!

Carta muy caro. Pequeñas raciones, sobre los precios inflados y vergonzoso ciertamente no de buen nivel, teniendo en cuenta el costo. Y tienen la audacia de cargará el 10% de servicio. Ahora entiendo por qué éramos la única gente comiendo (y fuimos testigos de un cliente volver su comida, ya no comestible). Bien, no puedo decir que sobre nuestra comida, pero que no era digno de el total de la factura. .

Este lugar tiene todo lo que esperas de un tradicional restaurante Chino - hasta el vulgar ser adornadas con borlas calendarios de bambú detrás de la barra y el menú complejo demasiado!

Great little take away with a restaurant...have eaten in both regularly and always have a good meal. Prompt service and tasty food.

A little hit and miss. Often they forget a dish with your takeaway. However still good food when you get what you ordered.

Standard Chinese food but service exceptionally slow. They seem to prioritise takeaways rather than the restaurant. Also an optional service charge is charged even for 2 people. Nice enough but not worth the wait

We get our Chinese takeaway from here. We drive as we live out of the town. Order times are usually pretty accurate and the food is always lovely. It is a little pricey, but that wouldn't turn us away from using them.

Service slow and food not up to much no knife and fork expect you to use chop sticks

Situated in the centre of Chipping Norton with plenty of free parking. Small cosy family run restaurant . Always enjoyed very good oriental cuisine .

The starter was chicken wings and were really really niceMain course was chicken curry, they gave me chop sticks and two really small bowls to eat out of it was very awkward. I understand the whole culture thing but a plate and knife and fork would have been easier. The main portion was very small hardly no meat£19.30 for those two is very pricey

We went to Beijing Gourmet as 2 families (4 adults and 4 young children). We we're staying nearby for the weekend.We chose a selection of dishes to share, and all of them we're served piping hot and tasted amazing.My family is very health conscious, so we really appreciate it when we can find great food that is obviously made from fresh ingredients, without the additives.The food at Bejing Gourmet was the best Chinese we've had in the UK and we will return when we're in the area again.

We pre-ordered a fairly large takeaway order (12 dishes) just before 6pm on saturday whilst we were staying nearby. Our order was ready within 20 minutes & was delicious, everything correct, hot & tasty & not particularly 'heavy'. Would recommend to anyone & would definitely use again if we're were in the area.

We had a takeaway from here whilst staying in Chipping Norton. Food for 5, quickly done and superb quality. One of the best Chinese meals I've had. We left a note in the visitors book in the cottage where we stayed. Well worth a visit.

Always use good quality ingredients, not swimming in fat like some places. Worth walking along the street for.

I used to be a regular of the beijing gourmet for years, but have moved to the south a few years ago. my husband and I still go out of our way to get a takeaway from here when we're back in the area.Definitely the best Chinese takeaway in chippy!Sometimes they get too busy and there's a bit of a Wait for walk ins as there's only ever 1 or 2 people manning the counter/restaurant , so always best to order in advance, or book a table if eating in.We love you Alison! We stopped off at the Beijing Gourmet (we had stopped once before and had a pleasant and enjoyable meal)However, this time...OMG! As soon as we walked in it was apparent that we weren't welcome - the waitress (Alison) was on her own, had one table in front of house and a family in the back and was manning the phone and desk for take out orders.Alison was the rudest most unpleasant individual we have ever had the misfortune to come across.While we were there others seeking to dine came and went, we sat for 30 minutes with no contact at all. I requested the manager, he wasn't on site, I phoned a few times during the week but he was never available.Everything was too much trouble - we left without eating.Avoid.

Used this place for the first time this weekend. Food was overall good. Have to say the crispy duck was totally overcooked which is a shame as we orderd a whole one. Otherwise, lemon chicken, beef in black bean, crispy chilli, rice, noodles, prawn toast, sweet and sour chicken, all good. Best bet in chippy area for take away at the moment. Not amazing but not bad and ok for a take out meal.

Having ordered on the phone, and arrived on time to collect our takeaway meal we got home to find we had part of someone else's order. What we got was disappointing. The crispy duck had been throughly overcooked leaving a tough outer layer. The starters had also been in the oven far too long. The noodle dishes were cooked OK but had no real taste. This establishment must do better. We have crossed it off our list.

Ordered takeaway for a nice night in. It was quick service and the food was reasonably good. I admit I struggled a bit, having ordered crispy beef- my imagination kicked in and I couldn't help thinking I was eating deep fried worms. There wasn't any meat to distinguish between the crispy parts, just long and thin, but reasonably tasty all the same.Can't recall what the other dish was. It was chicken with vegetables in a grey sauce. Very bland and admit I liked my worms better.Rice was good.

A small restaurant but the food is excellent,service was reasonable,the takeaway side was very busy,making us think that we would have to wait sometime,this was not to be,food was hot and very good,would recommend .

I have to admit that the standard of the food here is excellent. But the service for 'eat in/sit down' customers is awful as it seems to take second fiddle to the takeaway side of the business which is very busy. Very disappointing as it could be so much better!
