Shared a small cod and regular chips, absolutely exceptional. Both where cooked fresh to order. Never had such a perfect fish; not too big, no skin or dark meat, perfect texture and a light/crispy batter. We will definitely return and add to our recommendations in our holiday let.

Daughter and Son-in-law just moved to Broadstairs and after a very long day they needed a boost! We all strolled out and headed for this place as they had seating inside. Lovely man welcomed us in. He had all cleaned up - it said it closes at 9 pm we got there at 20 to 8 - but Erman was ready to feed us! We sat inside and toasted our daughter and son-in-law’s new home. The batter on my lovely medium cod was light, crispy and delicious!!!! Husband’s haddock was very tasty. All cooked to order and perfect chips and curry sauce. I think they’ve found their local fish and chip shop!

Had a fabulous evening at this lovely pub right overlooking the bay in Broadstairs. We arrived early for a drink before our daughter and son-in-law were due. A lovely warm welcome from Vicki at the bar. I had a lovely Merlot - not freezing cold either just the right temperature! Vicki gave husband tasters of the Gadds and Ghost Ship but he stuck with his usual Doombar. Very cosy and clean and lots of nice nooks to sit in with lovely cushioned benches. Went upstairs to the restaurant and had a lovely table overlooking the sea. Daughter and husband shared bread/olive oil for a starter which was yummy! The specials board was very tempting - the bass with ginger, pak Choi looked tasty but Aidan the lovely (and knowledgeable) waiter said they only had four Dover sole left and we all decided we’d go for those and were so glad we did - absolutely gorgeous, very generously sized, nice and thick and cooked to perfection. We had a nice dish of sauté potatoes and another dish of carrots, courgettes, broccoli and green beans between us all. (Sorry no pics of the food we all tucked in too quickly!). Really nice wine too! Husband and daughter couldn’t resist the gypsy tart and I had a delicious lemon posset. Sorry I didn’t get our other waitress’s name - the service we had from her and Aidan was exemplary - friendly, there if we needed anything but not intrusive - just perfect. Really enjoyed our evening here - it was quiet but I’ve been there in Folk Week when it’s packed as it’s very popular and after eating there I can see why! Looking forward to another visit. Thank you for making us so welcome Vicki and Aidan.

Delicious full English breakfast and poached egg and Avocado on toast, good portions and great value for money. Friendly and helpful service throughout. Also cater for gluten free, vegan and vegetarian on their menu. Would definitely recommend for a quick and fuelling breakfast with good quality produce!

I’m sorry but I would never go here again! Visiting for the day, as we have many times, and my husband just picked it assuming as it is in a very popular place it would be fine. Sat towards the back, ordered bottle of house wine which was fine but glasses were cloudy and never been wiped after dishwasher so looked dirty all over. Ordered a cod & chips and rock & chips. No rock!!!! We were going to leave but had started the wine and they were doing the food so felt a bit bad if we did. Food came up with no tartare sauce as advertised, but it was freshly cooked and nice. Told to use tartare bottle in rusty holder but bottle was dirty with no top to it, needless to say we didn’t use it. The place is a disgrace, tables all sticky and condiment holders rusty, smell from toilet awful, which was blocked. We did move to get away from smell. Decor was absolutely appalling, not been done for decades by the look of it. Young staff were lovely, our waitress was lovely but the young man just kept running his hands through his hair and he was serving!! Overall not a good experience and not what Broadstairs should be letting go! Needs to be closed and completely refurbished.

Visited here a lot over the years but lately it has really gone downhill. Dirty tables, staff standing around chatting , ages to wait for a drink. Yesterday topped it all. The member of staff , short with glasses and greasy tied back hair had no interest in serving customers. A constant frown on her face . The coffee was awful and just a cup full of foam . As customers we felt unwanted and will most definitely not be returning. For the price they charge for a cup of coffee we would expect a smile and a clean cafe at least ...

didn't have a meal at the dolphin went for the karaoke eve last thursday, well what can i say after the negative reviews this pub gets. we are a couple 79 plus who love a bit of karaoke, the bar staff, the young lady running this and all the young people in there made us very feel welcome, they were polite and friendly and personally i didn't hear any bad language. we had a very enjoyable evening so well done kids some great voices too, thanks

I'm probably a bit behind the curve here, but the last time I tried to order from Papa John's the Broadstairs branch was closed. Not sure whether that was for refurbishment or change of franchisee, but the most important thing is that it is open again and the pizzas are just the best. They are definitely my go to and the service is quick and friendly as well as the pizzas being well made and tasty. Absolutely no complaints. Long may the remain in Broadstairs. Definitely better than the other pizza options.

It was pouring with rain when we arrived. They’d been really busy but now it was just us. We got a fantastic welcome and then a superb simple sparklingly fresh meal. Incredibly good value and excellent. And lovely company from the owners.

Where do I start with this….. the garlic king prawns I had for a starter, looked like they had put frozen prawns into a bowl of dish water they had no garlic flavour. just watery prawns. VERY dissatisfied!! And they charged £8.99! If I was the chef I would have been embarrassed to serve that sh*t. The main was just an over priced burger very poor quality food. The service was pretty bad unfortunately. Took a long time to ask us for drinks they were too interested in talking to their friends in the kitchen I will definitely not be back. Who ever runs this place needs to have a serious sort out . This place could be a winner but needs a serious change. Very disappointed. (Ps cocktails were decent)

Had 2 fabulous meals here whilst on our holiday. The food is first class every time. A special mention for the Lobster Thermidor which is the best I have ever eaten. The sauce is just amazing - you just have to try it. Fabulous service. Word of warning - if you want to try the Lobster Thermidor, ask to reserve one when you book a table, which is essential to avoid any disappointment. Thanks again. See you next year.
