The portions in here are absolutley massive and for crazy, silly , small prices. No wonder it us always busy. Recommended.

We had a snack here which was okay. But the following day sadly I saw the owner/manager with a bagful of Tesco frozen garlic bread slices walking back to into the establishment. They charge £4.90 for garlic bread and cheese. I have no doubt based on trips to Asda in the mornings most of these cafes/restaurants use value bread and most upsetting battery eggs. In general the prices also seem incredibly high. Side of mushrooms £3.90 Cheese and Bean jacket £10.90 6 Onion rings £4.90

Great spot for a quick family meal. Delicious food and very friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely be visiting again!

Horrible cheap food and horrible prices, nice atmosphere but food is the cheapest of the cheap quality, do not bother going here might as well go down the high street and go somewhere else and eat some actual good quality food.

I had a Spanish omlet that’s came with chips and salad plus home made special sauce It was amazing 😋 Very nice place. Definitely come back again.

As a family we have breakfast here regularly. The owner and staff are welcoming and friendly. The service is fast. The breakfast is delicious. And reasonably good value too. For hungry young families this is a great place to sit down together for a well cooked, filling meal in friendly surroundings.

The breakfasts that we had this morning set us up for the day. Plenty of food on our plates. A nice mug of tea and very goid pricing. Dog friendly on the terrace. We shall return.

An amazing café with a brilliant selection on the menu! With seating outdoors and outdoors this is a venue for all weathers. The staff are very polite and attentive, and the food was amazing. My daughters and I loved our meal and can’t wait to go again.

For the price you really cannot complain that it is not 5* food! It’s a good cheap English breakfast. You get what you pay for, which for us was ideal to fill us up for a busy day ahead. Don’t come expecting a gourmet meal and you’ll enjoy yourself for a fraction of the price of many places!

I had two poached eggs on toast four bacon mushrooms and a coffee and it was £14.00 just had exactly the same breakfast in another cafe for £7.65

I went to the Café Grill to await repairs on my car - later discovered faulty brake sensor to blame. I hadn't eaten there for several years, mainly due to my refusal to pay for parking in the town. With my car in the garage, parking wasn't an issue today. I would rather give the money to local independant business than the council. I perused the extensive menu and decided a nice cheese omelette was long overdue. The female server who took my order, seemed slightly surprised at my request for a two egg omelette rather than the usual three. I also needed hash browns. The food when it arrived after a short wait was well worth it. The omelette cooked fresh to perfection, exactly to correct amount of cheese and seasoning. The hash browns crispy on the outside, soft and yielding inside. In addition, the large pot of tea, which caused another raised eyebrow, was of good quality and piping hot. I can't wait to return for another meal at the Café Grill. Fortunately, my car is due for its MOT next month!

We stopped off here on a Bank Holiday Sunday in August whilst walking from the station to the bandstand to see a performance there. We were looking to get something for lunch and in the midday sunshine, the café with its outside seating opposite the park looked very inviting. We were shown to our seat by a polite and (very) young man who gave us a menu asked to make our order inside. I ordered the Gammon steak and my wife had the Tuna fish jacket potato and salad accompanied by two cups of tea. The food was served to our table in a very good time obviously freshly cooked. Both meals had a good portion size and were enjoyable though the gammon steak was slightly on the dry side to my taste. All of the staff that we came into contact with were polite and helpful and the restaurant looked clean and well maintained. We thought that the combination of the location opposite the park, the sunny weather and the enjoyable meal all together made this a nice eating experience and would certainly consider a return visit should we visit the area again.

Tried here for breakfast first full day of holiday as it was close to where we were staying. Big mistake! Should’ve realised it wasn’t going to be good when the laminated menu has ‘sets’ of breakfast to choose from. Waitress was grumpy & unhelpful - even when they brought milky coffee instead of black as ordered - we were told to go back to bar inside with it!!! Then she continually hassled us for the menu like it was the Crown Jewels!! Food eventually arrived and was not good. Everything except baked beans had been deep-fried and the meat was very cheap & tasteless. Definitely avoid this place - if you’re looking for a good breakfast at about £2 more expensive than this dreadful offering, would recommend The Charles Dickens in town centre, right on seafront.

Fabulous cafe right opposite where we stayed and so glad we went every morning .Fast,courteous service ,best omelettes ever,and hubby had full English and boy was it full !! prices very reasonable,inside or outside seating will definitely recommend to friends and we will return when we come back later in the year

Looking for a sandwich after the Morelli's failure found this busy little cafe at the top of Broadstairs. Plenty of outside covered seating. Covid bits done shown to table, you have to order and pay at the till when ready, food around looked good, ordered a chicken salad sandwich a prawn lettuce sandwich and bowl of chips with a mug of tea. 10 minute wait all arrived good sandwiches good amount of filling, pre-sliced bread chips hot. Nice to return and try a breakfast.

We sat outside on a beautiful sunny morning for brunch. We found it to be a really efficient system where you order and pay at the counter prior to eating so not lengthy waiting for the bill. The food was cooked really quickly and was hot and plentiful. The flavours were basic and produce not top quality but it was value for money. I would return for a quick and easy bite to eat.

Had scrambled egg on toast with mushrooms and bacon x2, can of drink and a coffee got charged £19.90 the bacon was undercooked, the toast and scrambled egg was dry. Customer service was shocking. Won’t be going back again

We (as family & with friends) have been visiting the Cafe Grill for many years. We have watched it grow from humble beginings to a good sized, clean, light and airy place that it is today. The food and the service have been consistently fantastic over approx 10 yrs of visiting. The Owner and Staff are friendly and welcoming. Menu is extensive. Nothing is too much trouble. Prices are very resonable.

We visited the Café Grill for the first time on Saturday 11th August 2018 which was the start of the annual Folk Week Festival. The menu was well balanced to accommodate a variety of different foods. The food was excellent and good value for the money. Very pleasant and polite management and staff. Good fast service, with clean and pleasant surroundings. Yes, I would highly recommend a visit to the Café Grill - we, will definitely be going back, to relive our enjoyable experience!

Greeted and seated promptly ,lots of choice and variations of the dishes. Great portion size but let down on quality . The sausages were not much taste at all , and the chips were bland too . But it was cheap ,served quick and the place seemed clean . Would go back if in area .

We dropped in here for a late lunch. The restaurant was not busy mid afternoon although people did start coming in after we were there. Service is prompt. The fish platter is a generously sized dish. If you order the jacket potato, make sure to ask for no butter if you're dairy intolerant as it comes as standard. It was a big potato with a large helping of prawn mayonnaise. There is seating outside the restaurant as well as plenty tables inside.

The staff were very attentive and friendly, the food was lovely and a great portion. We really felt that we were getting value for money. It’s a lovely cafe to eat in, will definitely be back!

I can hardly praise the Café Gill on 96 High Street enough. I went there with a friend before we descended the hill in the sunshine to Viking Bay. We both had lunch; Our meals and drinks were absolutely delicious and the service was very friendly and very professional. I highly recommend this super restaurant.

We needed a bite to eat and although this wasn’t my top choice it was about location. So we sat outside in the early spring weather and Louis the deaf / blind schnauzer soaked up the sunshine.

Been there many times and I can easily say that it’s one of the best cafes in Broadstairs. New decoration is nice and welcoming, staff, very kind and smiling... most importantly all comes at a reasonable price...I do strongly recommend this place to all my friends...keep up the good work guys !

I found the food to be of very poor quality, i can honestly say that the interior is nice and new looking and clean but the food is poor, its what i would describe as all the looks but zero substance , i cant imagine genuine oap;s enjoying this poor quality food .

Went in on a Sunday about 11.30 planning on having an early lunch and we all just fancied a cooked breakfast, the cafe grill has had a makeover since I last went in and I have to say I really like what they have done. The staff are friendly and the food was great, I do enjoy a breakfast out and I liked the fact it wasn’t swimming in grease. You got a decent amount of food for your money so that was a plus too, I would definitely go back again

Well. What can I say. Portions are huge. The omelette and chips can easy feed two people. Not complaining as it’s amazing value. Cooked breakfasts are exceptional. Staff are soooo friendly. They Always give me a couple of lollies to give to the kids. Recently refurbished and much mor spacious. It’s a favourite with the students and I am not surprised, keep up the good work cafe grill x

Arriving in Broadstairs a little early for a meeting and not having had breakfast the Cafe Grill was the first place I came across that was open and did 'proper' breakfasts. The cappuccino was not the frothy concoction you can get but the full English was tasty, hot and served with admirable speed. It came with hit buttered toast and a friendly smile. Plenty of room and a nice outside space when the weather is good too. Broadstairs is also lovely (see today's view) but unfortunately not from the Cafe Grill.

I was there yesterday. The whole restaurant has been redesigned. Really liked it. The meals are as wonderful as ever. The roast beef and vegetables was fresh and great. Plus friendly staff . You should definitely try it.

I ordered the chicken casserole, it came covered in red sauce that is separating and the mash was covered in gravy(bisto) that was mixed with the red tomato sauce that was all over the chicken and the whole place was swimming in water as the vegetables weren't drained properly. Horrible food and expensive. I won't go there again!

I have been a couple of times previously, and the baguettes are great, very tasty and low prices. So when I ventured there on Sunday, I intended to have the same. However, I saw roasts on the menu, and thought I would go for the chicken. Worst decision I could have made. Food piled high, unappetising. Savoy cabbage, complete layers forming a wedge that would tax a steak knife, potatoes that seemed to have just been warmed up, topped with a wing of chicken, so big that if it had lived it could have ruled the world. Dry as a bone. Carrots came in legions, outnumbered though by the peas. Aunt Bessie'syorkshire pudding was edible.I've probably had worse roast, but I can't remember when. Cheap and nasty.

We called at first and had Sunday lunch which was nice and popped back in later on in the week for another lunch time meal,this place can get warm inside and you may have to time your visit to avoid the language students but overall tasty food and very good value

Due stelle forse sono pure troppe per questo angusto luogo dove si mangia con una miseria ma ci vuole veramente uno stomaco di ferro. Ho preso un hamburger con le patatine fritte, per quanto mi riguarda l'hamburger era immangiabile, la carne aveva un odore terribile e non riuscivi a mandarlo giù. Le patatine erano commestibili solo con il ketchup e pure quello aveva un aspetto pessimo (rendiamoci conto). Lo sconsiglio vivamente.

This place is very busy due to excellent prices, quick service, varied menu.From cup of tea/coffee to breakfast, lunch, dinner. .Great selection for breakfast with additional options. Lunch / dinner from Turkish options to English Roasts with plenty of veg and gravy ,ham,egg and chips ( best chips, lasagne ,meat pies. The meals are BIG, Small selection of deserts. Very popular with overseas students at lunchtime weekdays.Opposite Pierremont Hall. Outside seating for finer weather.

this café is handy during Folk Week as its rightopposite the Pierremont Park so you can have your dinner then walk across to catch the evening show in the Concert Marquee. This is good value filling café food, I would particularly recommend the Spanish ommelete packed full with peas tomatoes and other vegetables - quick friendly service too.

My family have eaten here several times for the following reasons. The staff are friendly, the price is good, the portions are generous, service is prompt, there is a wide range of foods on the menu (breakfasts, roasts etc), and they are very sensitive to allergies. The perfect start to the day.

I have visited Café Grill on numerous occasions, most recently being during Broadstairs Folk Week. Having been there at varying times of day, and trying many different items from the wide menu, I think the worst thing I can say about this venue is that once I had slightly cold chips with my lasagne (hardly the biggest of issues).We have always felt welcome at this establishment, never hurried or ignored; they are also attentive to the needs of four legged patrons, as dogs are welcome in the shaded outside dining area, and are provided with personal water bowls! :)Overall, I would recommend Café Grill to anybody looking for a decent meal at a decent price.

Have been here several times, especially with my dad who always wants to go here to eat when he visits from Dover. The staff are polite, friendly and helpful and the food is very good. The portions are frankly massive and as regulars we often watch the reactions to people as their food is delivered ... One memorable moment was when a women 'disappeared from view' behind her mince pie dinner. Excellent little place that is definitely value for money.

Came here today with my daughter as the seafront was too crowded for lunch.Ordered the liver and bacon. It was delicious and a very generous portion at a reasonable price. The staff were very friendly and the service fast. Looking forward to going back.

I visited for a late breakfast and was greeted by friendly staff, given a broad menu with a great selection of specials, I however opted for one of their set breakfast and was delighted to receive a substantial plate of well cooked and well presented fresh and food accompanied by a huge cup of tea and all for an incredibly reasonable price. I'll definitely be coming back.

We stopped by the Cafe Grill for a lite bite and can no longer move unless we waddle - the portion sizes at Cafe Grill are immense! but this doesn't detract from the flavours and quality of the food!!The menu is eclectic with English, Greek, Turkish and Italian - but it does mean everyone has a least half a dozen items they want to try!! (We'll be back for sure!!)The staff are very pleasant and coped superbly with out fussy/choosy kids...Just wish we had room for dessert...

Probably been kind giving them an average rating! Roast dinner was just ok,cup of tea- (i had to go to the counter and ask for a teabag as it looked like they had forgotten to put it in)a cup with dirty marks on.Cash only no card - really in this day!!.waitress was ok,apart from the one who i asked for the teabag she just raised her eyebrows at her colleague! So in all just average.oh and please someone either clean or replace the toilet seat.

I have been here a handful of times now as live locally and I have rarely finished a plate of food as the portions are so big!! This is a great place to visit if you have a hangover! I recommend the vege breakfast or their delicious omelette as they are always fab!

Perfect 'greasy spoons' cafe. Lots of choice on the menu including all day breakfasts. Generous plates of honest cooked, tasty food. Perfect service; loved the children. Walk on past the Cats Whiskers cafe and head here.

Cafe grill is amazing value for money. The food is fresh, wholesome and huge in portion. I challenge anyone to find better value when you're needing a quick, filling cafe meal!

We took shelter here during a shower and decided to have lunch. It looks quite nice from the outside and the welcome was warm enough.But as we took our seats it became clear that this was not the cleanest of places. The overall decoration was tired and grubby and the cutlery was disgusting.The food was poor and cooked with cheap ingredients. Most of it was left uneaten.This place has the potential to be a very good cafe and I appreciate that it has regular patrons who love it for the value for money meals and friendly staff. But the quality is simply not there.

Every year we travell to Broadstairs for folk week this year will be the same.We have never experienced any problems with the food or service.The staff are friendly and courteous, that the cafe is always busy speaks for itself.The portions on the specials are enormous & set you up for the rest of the day.Will we use it again this year? Yes we certainly will & I will post an additional report following our visit

First place we stopped on our walk to the beach as visitors. Plenty of people inside and out, which looked like it was popular. Wife and I had an omelet each, which was fine. Side salad drowned out the plate. Chips included reduced the cost. Daughter and her friend shared cheese and sausage toasties. £20:60 for 4 meals was good value. Place was clean. Staff were attentive.

The staff are lovely and friendly, the portions are huge, and it's really good value for money. We sat in the conservatory which was clean and bright. The food came out quickly and everyone enjoyed their meals. There's a bit more on the menu than your average greasey spoon, lots of homemade choices and a nice kids menu. Haven't got a bad thing to say about the place at all, highly recommended.
