The New Inn in Thanet

I am a very critical person both with food quality, service and overall presentation. I am a nightmare. This lovely couple put up with a bit of drunkenness with me after I had one of the best steaks that I have ever had. The last steak I had like that was in 'Lanigan's' (Google it) and it was maybe 10 times the cost. The pub is hygienic (How often don we see that nowadays?) and is a credit to the hard work that they I am sure both put in to the place. I am in Margate soon to be moving to Ramsgate but I an going to to be spending £15 on a taxi each way to use this pub as there is nothing like it here or on Margate. PROPPER PUB! Not some Thorley or Shepheard Neame plastic place! Enjoy! Have the Rump Steak!

We were out and about yesterday in Thanet and stopped into the restaurant in the hope that we could have something to eat as a walk-in couple. The lady at the bar very warmly said that there was a table available, but it was her least favourite table! It was fine, we sat down and ordered the Sunday Pork roast for the both of us after we were served our drinks from the bar. When the food came out, it was a fantastic Pork Sunday roast with accompanying gravy and cauliflower cheese. The meal was delicious and very filling, we have sampled a number of pub restaurants around Kent for Sunday roasts and this is definatly one of the best value and delicious places to visit. We were so glad that we decided to visit Minster, as the village itself is a wonderful place with a charming character, as we went for a short walk after the meal.

Nothing special, but certainly no complaints.

Delicious roast and friendly service

A lovely pub with a charming team and good food, beers, drinks options, atmosphere. We popped in on Sunday, the roast was excellent (roast beef cooked to order, an amazing kick in the horseradish, excellent sides including a fantastic cauliflower cheese). Very good starters too - and an exceptional sticky toffee pudding (thinks dates inside). Everyone was so attentive and cheery, helpful and it has a homely local atmosphere. If in Minster, do check it out ;)

Wanted somewhere to spend time with family and have lunch together. We couldn’t have chosen a better pub to go to. From the call to book a table to the meal itself we were welcomed and we received great customer care. Parking was easy and there is a lovely restaurant, which is spacious and comfortable. Great menu and excellent food. Prices very competitive too. We’d recommend all of the dishes we had, which were steak pie, chicken burger and butternut squash curry. Really impressed and will go back.

Well what can I say. Ciaran and Lauren put on a magnificent and delicious 90th birthday lunch for for 26 people for my dad. I couldn’t fault a single thing. It was easy to chat to sort out the menu, the service was second to none and the food was scrumptious. All the staff were helpful and couldn’t do enough to help

I regularly eat at the New Inn because the food and service is great. I don't often order steak anywhere as it's often a disappointment. However I did at the New Inn last night and it was superb. Cooked perfectly, it was amazing and incredibly reasonably priced considering the quality Thank you New Inn, you're the best! :)

Frist time here 9 of us my birthday meal all had a lovely meal and drinks very nice staff owners I think they will see a lot of us in the future good menus lots of choices parking and dogs are welcome thank you

Top quality food, top quality service as always

Little gem found the staff are so genuine and just seem happy even though it’s so busy when we go, they always go out of there way to fit us in last minute only tried the roast dinner and the best cauliflour cheese, will definitely be back to try the other food menu nice quality food and assume all home made.

The food is Consistently excellent as is the service , have never had less than a great meal here , for a change we were in on a Sunday and the roast is so so good .

We had friends down over the weekend and no trip to Minster would be complete without a visit to the New Inn. Everything was as expected. Fantastic food, efficient and friendly staff. Whether you are meeting with friends, colleagues, or family, you are guaranteed lovely food and drink and a service with a smile! Landlords Lauren and Ciaran, and their entire team, will ensure that!

Beautiful pub. Spent days hunting the web for a proper home cooked pub grub and affordable. 10/10 food and very reasonable prices . Lovely helpful staff, great selection of beer. We all cleared our plates, even the kids ! Thankyou guys! If we come back to kent next year we know where to go for dinner 🙏x

Had a wonderful Lunch with friends today, at the New Inn, Minster, In Thanet. We were a party six and had booked in advance. The food was delicious. I had sticky Korean Chicken Bites, my Wife had Pork and Chorizo Scotch Egg, as a starter. For the Main we both had slow Roasted Pork Belly, and the Crackling, which was the best we have had! We hope to return soon! Thanks to all the Staff.

Lovely greeting from the girl behind the bar, she took our orders and promptly delivered. Food cooked very well, tasty and reasonably priced. We ordered, Hunters chicken and a Tandoori chicken burger. ..Will return.

Great meal had by my family when we visited. I especially enjoyed the paneer dish that I had.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch today with friends, very nicely presented, hot, plenty of meat and vegetables, very enjoyable. Also, the staff were very welcoming and attentive, Will deffo be back!

We only visited to play Bat&Trap, the ales are good and there is an interesting selection of largers. The main menus look good and we will be back, we had bangers and mash as a snack, smashing!

Six of us enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch yesterday. The food was well presented and very tasty, staff were welcoming and attentive without being obtrusive. Thank you all and we will be back next time we visit our family in Kent

If you like perfectly cooked melt in the mouth beef (other options available!) with home made Yorkshire and all the trimmings you will love the Sunday roast at the New Inn. Welcoming staff and wonderful food.

We have a holiday home at the nearby Foxhunters holiday park and visit this venue twice a week when we are staying there. Firstly it is always a welcoming and warm welcome from the owners and the staff with excellent food across the menu , The scotch egg is an excellent starter with a variable and again excellent selection for the main course and deserts. If visiting the village treat yourself to an excellent time here at the New Inn Extremely good value for money.

Just popped in with a friend and sat in the garden, had a good selection of ales to choose from. The atmosphere was warm and friendly.

To day me and my wife decided to go for a spontaneous meal out we came across the new Inn in a lovely quiet village we haven't been there before as we walked in we was greeted by a lovely young lady who was verry polite and professional once seated atmosphere was lovely we really enjoyed are food we had 3 courses and couldn't fault any of it the flavours where lovely and not too over powering , all the staff where brilliant and it was even cost effective we will definitely be going back , so thank you to the staff at the new Inn we had a lovely meal out

My second visit whist visiting friends. Food was delicious great value. Only minus was being charged 28.00 for an 8.50 bottle of wine from supermarket.

Very welcoming we popped in Saturday afternoon and had a late lunch which was a steak burger and a steak and chips. All cooked to perfection, washed down with a very moreish merlot. Service was with a smile, we will be returning and highly recommend!

Superb food, great service, lovely ambience

I have been to the New Inn on many occasions over the past few years. The food on this occasion was amazing. The pub is cozy and welcoming. The staff are friendly and the service was quick and efficient. I would certainly recommend a visit.

Probably the best roast lunch I have had. Everything that belongs on a roast, fantastic portions, service was attentive. But the best thing on the plate was the roast potatoes absolutely perfect 🥰

Our rambling group (20 people) had the Christmas lunch menu here yesterday. It was great value for money - the food was excellent and the atmosphere was friendly. The staff couldn't do enough for us. Thank you for everything.

Really nice food, great play area for our toddler (bit too big for him but older kids would have a great time). No real gluten free options but plenty of stuff for vegetarians. Kids food portions really generous. Best bit was the staff - really friendly and accommodating. Would definitely head back and only a short drive from the Monkton Nature Reserve so great for some lunch after a walk 👍🏽

Nice friendly pub with a warm welcome

Fantastic Christmas Day meal was enjoyed here in 2021. The food was delicious, and was served hot and in good time. The landlord and lady were very helpful and friendly, as were their staff too. The whole experience was an absolute pleasure, from booking and organising through to enjoying the dining experience and pub ambiance on the big day.

Friendly Pub with restaurant. Excellent food, good service, staff very attentive and helpful. We had a lovely meal recently an open fire greeted us on a cold evening we enjoyed a drink in the bar before going into the restaurant for dinner. Food was excellent not over priced and the staff couldn’t of been more helpful. We have already booked to go back!

Arrived without a booking but they cost us a table in bar as the restaurant was full. Had a lovely Beef Sunday roast x 4, couldn't be faulted, followed by some excellent puddings. Not the best looking from the outside but with such friendly staff and great food who cares. Can't wait to be in the area again to be able to sample some more of the menu.

Had Sunday lunch with my husband at £12 ph. On that occasion there was a choice of two roasts: beef or shoulder of pork, accompanied with the expected vegetables. You are given two options with the roast beef..... Pink or well done. We opted for the pink and had no regrets. It was beautifully tender and tasted delicious! The Yorkshire pud was large and crispy, as were the 5 huge roast potatoes! The cauliflower cheese (which was lovely) and gravy arrived separately on a tray, which was a nice touch. My only niggle was the gravy was extremely 'thin', but that's a personal preference. Usually my husband finishes what I'm unable to eat. However, the portions were so big he only just managed to finish his own! Going again today and taking our daughter and her fiance.... Can't wait!

Service was very polite, friendly and helpful. Food was of a reasonable standard. The desserts (icecream) was a rip off. No disabled access. Had to sit in the marquis. Luckily the weather was good. Won't be returning I'm afraid.

Revisited the SE Coast this last week and just had to revisit The New Inn - and so pleased we did. We only got chance to eat there once last year because of ‘Eat Out To Help Out’ but managed to go there twice this time. The food and service was first class, with everything ordered just cooked to perfection. Whoever owns/runs/manages this place - your staff are some of the most welcoming, hard working, pleasant we’ve met. Nothing was too much bother - even my HP sauce on Jamie’s Scotch Egg 😂. You’ve struck gold with them all.

Sunday roasts in the New Inn are always excellent when eaten in the restaurant, as are all the meals, when you can eat inside. Just had the Sunday roast takeaway . Well cooked, great roasties and roast beef perfectly cooked.Really liked the Bread & Butter pudding. Excellent service from the friendly team, meal ready on time, good value and all covid safe.

Fantastic Christmas lunch today. Super friendly service and food cooked to perfection. And the icing on the cake was there were only plates to wash up. Would definitely recommend. Please offer this service again next year.

Always have a lovely roast here and other stuff on menu is equally as good. . Reasonably priced for such good food. Lovely pub and garden. Staff are very efficient and so friendly. My daughter was very impressed with the nut roast. She’s very keen to go back and try the mushroom and halloumi burger. Highly recommended

stopped in here to try a villiage pub and was amazing. First class food, first class service and great value for money. Warm and friendly greeting and amazing waitress. Would move to this villiage just for the villiage pub. A must go too

Very good quality for the money

Had a lovely meal on Saturday night in what was a very busy pub considering the restrictions they are under. Everything was done by the book and there was a really nice vibe. They even had a marquee for extra seating. Food was delicious, staff were brilliant and we had a great night. Thank you

Visited for lunch yesterday and as I do not have a big appetite opted for the starter Jamie's scotch egg with curried mayonnaise and a side portion of Cajun fries which was extremely tasty and filling washed down with a very flavoursome Chardonnay.A very enjoyable meal enhanced by the very friendly efficient service.

Last night we found ourselves in the New Inn in Minster. Food was awesome but what made this experience was the staff a great bunch of ladies very professional but at the same time enjoyed a laugh and a joke.I highly recommend this pub never been here before but will definitely be going back. Never reveiw on here but after a great meal and great staff it would of been rude not to.
