It was a fantastic evening. It was my husband 70th birthday. We was a bit loud and I do apologise. There was 20 of us . The staff was amazing. George and Amy was fantastic

Food was good. My son enjoyed his chicken gougons. Though It'd have been better if came with some peas. I had burger, it was nice, though it did drip some grease which was off putting. Would come again though.

Lovely spacious place, service was excellent & very friendly. I had a 3 meat roast, it was ok not the best I've tasted. Not that hot in temperature & to be honest mine are better but, I still enjoyed my meal out & would try again in the future.

Staff polite and helpful food was great also had discount vouchers made an fabulous evening of good dinning!

We went for breakfast and we were greeted by really friendly staff. Overall it’s brilliant value for money and the atmosphere is cosy and chilled. Would definitely recommend.

Always made to feel welcomed, we had booked for two but turned up as three which was no problem just a very short wait as it was very busy. Our meal was delicious, highly recommend.

The waitress we had was brilliant, had lovely food. Never had a bad meal. The bar staff let the evening down. There was no change in the tills so ended up getting all 2pences. Nearly got given 2 dirty glasses til we pointed it out and not enough staff serving.

We had a great meal. The staff were really attentive and engaging which is quite rare these days. The food was cooked well and I would highly recommend the restaurant.

Two details stopped this place getting a 5*. The bread that came with the prawn cocktail was tasteless and dry and the cost of drinks was outrageous. Otherwise the rest of the food was excellent and the service was extremely friendly. Price of drinks would prevent me returning.

As usual the drinks etc are fine, no problem. A tray of dirty glasses on the table when we arrived, still there when we left two hours later. If you are only visiting for drinks you are obviously not classed as important as people who are eating. Amazing as the wine and beers cost a lot more than some people appear to spend on their meals!!!

This was my second visit in January, my first visit in December was good overall and coffee with a lovely creme. The second visit was somewhat underwhelming, food ok coffee like dishwater, really put me off visiting again.

Lovely lunch and service was excellent.. big well done to our server Cameron for his professional and courteous approach. Very kind, clear and precise and a lovely manner. Made our lunch more enjoyable.. Cameron should be praised by his peers for his service!

Never had a bad meal at the Canterbury bell, whether that's a burger or roast dinner! They also offer vegan dishes, which is helpful for us dairy intolerant folks 😅

Easy to order, Quick service, lovely staff, food was delicious, had fish and chips and 8oz ribeye for mains, crumble and sticky toffee pudding for dessert, all came hot and tasted fresh. Will definitely be back

Had a Sunday lunch here today a d was served by Jordan, absolutely delicious food, nice size plate and hot when brought out, Jordan was lovely and kind, will be coming back again

Rib eye steaks were slightly over cooked and pretty tasteless. One tiny mushroom and an undercooked beef tomato. Not good value at over £20. Service was slow, had to ask to order and get up and go and find the drinks menu. Once finished they rushed you out paying the bill.

We felt the service give by are server was very good indeed, I thought my mixed meat roast dinner was excellent. Especially the roasted carrots and parsnips. My partner was a little disappointed when you had no olive oil to go with her salad.

I'm not one for complaining but as you sent survey I will vent my frustration. You sent an email advertisement of 30% of mains. I took the opportunity replied to the email and booked a table for 2. Upon arrival showed to a table by a member of staff at which I explained I had a booking. I had a steak meal of which the steak was very chewy yes I did not express my feelings but did not eat all either. Upon paying the bill my mother paid I did not get a chance to look at the bill. After paying I did notice the bill and see all costings were at menu price with no sign of 30% discount. Having asked I was told I should of said before bill was paid. Nothing could now be done. At that point waitress walked off. When paying the bill my mother asked about a tip after actually tapping the payment device with her card. Waitress replied it's better to pay cash as a tip as a card payment added to bill she would only get a percentage. My mother gave a £20.00 note asking for change to give a tip. 2x£5 and 1x£10 given as change £5 of which was given as a tip. What with this action I'm sure the bill could have been cancelled and discount been applied and bill repaid. This experience is why I have given low scores I'm not saying I will not be returning BUT I will certainly not be rushing back and I have expressed my experience with different people I have met since. Sorry to say one unhappy customer.

Menu could be bit more of a range the hunters chicken was nice and the chunky chips it comes with was nice the garlic bread however was more herb than garlic didn’t like the fact they allowed a dog In the restaurant (wasn’t a service dog) it was on the chairs

On a very busy day we had lovely freshly cooked food, that was hot and very tasty. I am a vegan and it was the best vegan meal out I think I’ve had. The service was great too and I’d definitely recommend.

Ate here last night and was impressed with the quality of the food. The chips are great and meats cooked to perfection. Thanks to the kitchen staff for doing a great job and front of house for their service. I'm visiting the area but will be sure to return again.

Yet another new pub restaurants from Marston. Same menu. Great staff with reasonably priced food

Arrived on a cold winters day, inside was warm and welcoming. Our table was nicely positioned and staff were polite and friendly. We liked that it was dog friendly. Food and drink was ordered from a menu that had a good choice. Food and drink was served in a reasonable time. I had scampi which was fine but I've had better and I will be trying something else next time. We also had dessert which was great. We had 30% off mains voucher which made it good value for money.

Always lovely visit about twice a week however last night meal was not very good my steak was so tough I couldn’t eat it I ended up taking it home for my dog who even had trouble chewing it

It was very busy and we had to wait a while for our table but the table service was excellent and all the food was lovely. I was particularly impressed with my medium rare sirloin steak. It was cooked correctly which not many restaurants pull off! We will be back again soon.

Excellent service from the entire team and particularly the manager. Highly recommended

Great place to visit, friendly efficient and the food is so well prepared (when you ask for a steak to be medium rare… it actually comes to you medium rare!!) little things but makes a meal there count and you want to return. 👍

Great service food good, very quite but was expected as it was Monday.

Maybe this is one off but the service started off good but from the time I finished my last drink till I was checked I was well over 20 minutes and the service industry. It's unacceptable, especially when they had to walk past me 20 to 30 times while serving other customers

We were seen to our reserved table very swiftly as soon as we got there which was approx 15 mins earlier than the reserved time of 6pm. I was greatful that my request of being near to the disabled toilet was granted due to my mum having a weak bladder due to diabetes and dementia. After being seated our waiter took our order for drinks and gave us the menus to look at when we were ready. There was no rushing us to order or whilst eating. Mum eats slowly and they did not take any finished plates away till mum had finished. If they had mum would have stopped eating and felt rushed. The waiter at all times was pleasant and helpful. Service with a smile,please and thank you's go a long way and he had all 3, as did other waiters who helped with bringing our meals and clearing away. The food was delicious and I and my family, there were four of us in total, are looking forward to having another meal there in the near future. The place itself was very clean, no stickiness to the tables and toilets were clean too! After leaving the restaurant, the wind was extremely forceful so due to my elderly parents being with us ,81 and 87, I stayed with them sheltering next to a bush to take the wind of us while my fiance went to get the car. He pulled up and holding her arm I walked her over to the car. However the wind was so strong it pushed my mum and she fell over in-between the back wheel of the car and the curb even though I was holding her arm. Why am I telling you this? Because there were 3 maybe 4 staff with us in a flash, 2 of which were just leaving to go home, that helped my mum up and got her in the back of the car after making sure she was ok, which thankfully she was all but a few bruises and embarrassed pride. The staff are faultless and I cannot thank them enough for the help they provided to my mum. Thank you all and see you soon Happy New Year To You All xx

Just had a lovely family Christmas lunch . We are both vegan and used to making do when eating out but were pleasantly surprised and really pleased with the food . Service was excellent. Will certainly look to book again

Hi all, my self and wife and two other couples had are Christmas 🎄 meal the other evening, it busy but we had reserved a table, the waiter was really on the ball drinks and then starter, and main course and then dessert and more drinks, and every one of us all said the food was good, and a lovely evening had by all, so my wife and I said we would go back in the new year 😊

We went for roast - the food was delicious the staff were friendly, professional & fun and the atmosphere was lovely.

First visit to Canterbury bell we was in the area Christmas shopping and was starving heard good things about the restaurant from a friend and we wasn't disappointed Cameron was our server and gave us a first class service without being "in your face" and over attentive we both had calamari for starter and flat bread for main I had halloumi and pepper hubby had chicken and chorizo and honestly the flavours were amazing .. definitely worth a visit

went with a friend . it was busy but served quickly . ordered 2 starters instead of a main . the food was tasty but i think its not value for money . Sadly the toilets were in a terrible state and absolutely stank . I did report . Big shout out to our server , Daniel .

I had a lovely stay here. A very friendly welcome upon checking in at the bar with all the information I needed. Room was spacious, clean and tidy. I had a meal in the restaurant where the staff were friendly and attentive.

The worst Xmas dinner I've ever eaten, the sprouts were FROZEN in the middle, so we sent them back, I had 3 chunks of dried out turkey that I could barely cut, I took 2 of the chunks back home to the dog a total rip off, I don't know who they have in the kitchen, but they don't know how to carve a turkey!! And the sprouts came out of the freezer and obviously popped into a microwave. I think you need to get your act together, I'm sure we're not the only customers who have had this experience.

This was our first visit to the place and it cannot have been their finest night given some of the reviews. We ordered a pie the quality of which was average at best and over priced given some of the quality products from local competition. I had a tomato soup , the bread looked fine but the quantity of soup given the price , barely a couple of spoonful's lining the bowl was pitiful. It was returned with suitable comments. In fairness the staff tried hard to make up for it , but the moment to impress had passed.

Was welcomed warmly and sat immediately, the servers and service was perfect and the food itself was really good. The place had a lovely atmosphere and beautifully decorated for Christmas. Everyone around us seemed happy as well which added to our experience there.

The atmosphere was great - homely, busy but didn't feel crowded. Very friendly. The food was the best Sunday Roast we have had eating out. Fresh vegetables. Great options incl Vegetarian option. So well cooked and a good sized portion. Very well priced for the quality of food on offer! Very happy with our choice to eat here today!!

Came here today with family. Three mains and started ordered. Most of the food was good portions and taste. Loved my hallomi and red pepper kebab with rice rather than chips. Server was great. Very attentive and helpful, thank you Jon. Some furnishings slightly tired, particularly the chairs. Had a voucher for 30% off Mains so good value.

Went to the Canterbury Bell for dinner having been travelling for most of the day from The North West of the country. We were served by Taylor who was very friendly and attentive. The food, as usual was excellent as was the cosy atmosphere. Would definitely recommend the restaurant and we will be back.

Very noisy due to awful children

Food was lovely, atmosphere was lovely, soured only by our experience when we came to pay the bill and I asked our server Taylor if I could leave a tip using my card only to be met with his quite rude complaint that the tip gets shared and put on his wage slip and is therefore taxed. He clearly wasn't happy about this, even though I explained I didn't have any cash on me. If someone wants to leave a tip I suggest he is a little more grateful and does not complain or be rude about it. A tip is optional based on the service provided and if he is going to be rude he will not be getting one from us again in the future. I would also like to add that we've never had any issues with service here before (everyone has always even very friendly and helpful) and even yesterday all other servers were pleasant, friendly and very helpful.

The staff were lovely, very friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent value for money. I would (and have) recommend the Canterbury Bell to friends and family.

We stopped off on the way home from a day out walked in at 8.30 on a Saturday night they found use a table no problems the food and service was great Jordan was very friendly. My steak was cooked just how I asked it to be done rare to medium. We will go again soon.

Great staff and lovely food. Had Sunday lunch today at 3pm. The last day of their 30% off voucher, so expected it to be a bit chaotic and hit n miss. But completely wrong. A lovely meet & greet, nice clean table and a lovely waiter. Our order was very quick and the food was really good. Al dente vegetables, nice presentation and a lot of food that was very tasty. Would definitely come back again. Plus they play really good music too! I'm an ex chef and did not expect this level of food and service on a very busy Sunday afternoon. Well done to all the staff. Respect!!

Our waiter was very attentive and professional and also very kind as we had an old dog with us. He offered to get us water for my dog and at the end of the meal put our left over meat treats for our dog in a little bag. I wish everyone was as lovely as our waiter. Thank you
