3rd time we have eaten there, and again it did not disappoint. Portions of the fish and chips were so large, we did not have room for a sweet. Amy who served us was great. Will be returning soon.

We recently stayed here for 4 nights and had breakfast at restaurants. We enjoyed every bit of our stay here. Food is extremely good. Love it. Highly recommended. Value for money.

Friendly staff and good reasonably priced food in a comfortable atmosphere

We had a great meal here and service was great. Steak and hunter's chicken were banging. The only reason for a 4/5 is the choice of mayo as sauce for whitebait. Would've preferred tartar sauce or any other mayo based sauce but not plain mayo.

Had a long wait at the greetings table . Extremely rude member of staff turned us away at the door stating they were too busy to accept any more customers for breakfast. Yet 3 people managed to get a table behind us . Not enough members of staff on the service floor . Manager seemed to busy fixing a machine rather than keeping an adequate service up with his staff members on the shop floor . Very poor / rude / dismissive. Staff members should learn some customer service skills.

We were in a large party of 35 people a challenge in itself, but the lovely staff served us fantastically. Thank you so much for making a 90th and Mother's Day so Special.

Our waitress was very friendly and efficient, the food was very tasty, the restaurant was very clean. Our previous visit was disappointing as the staff ignored us for far too long, but this time we came away with such a different opinion and will definitely return in the near future.

We were dealt with efficiently at the check in and conducted to a pleasantly placed table. Our order was taken and the food arrived without a prolonged wait. food was delicious and well cooked. We will come again

Service and food, once again travelled from Deal, walked In, table for two, drink served within minutes, starter excellent followed by chicken tikka. Price excellent value.. we will return

Great place to have a great meal out and not break the bank!

The service was a little on the slack side when we arrived and waited to be seated there members of staff walked by with no engagement at all, a simple hello someone will be with you in a minute would of sufficed. The lady taking the order was nice and helpful, quality of food was rather poor overall. Steak was badly cooked and extremely gristly and chewy this was reduced in price by the manager. Three trim roast was ok but the meat was a bit plasticky like it had been microwaved. A choice of two burgers on the menu is just poor in my opinion and one of them was a plant burger. Variety on the menu for an older teenager is very limited and really needs to be addressed

Our waiter was amazing very attentive and polite and friendly. My daughter's 16th birthday was well celebrated because nothing was too much trouble and the food was superb the fish and chips was huge and delicious and the kids had a great time thank you

I go to The Canterbury Bell for the food. I have never stayed there. I think the Menu could need a change, more dishes could be added, as it is now the same thing and it is becoming a little boring. The food and service are good. Just needs an updated Menu.

Absolutely astonishing food with all of the food and drink that anyone needs for a cold winter morning or a warm summer delight.

Went in the Canterbury Bell on a Sunday. No booking made, just walked in and we got a table straight away. We did arrive dead on 12:00pm and during our time there it did fill up pretty quickly. I had the roast dinner (Turkey) and I can honestly say it was outstanding! Good amount of meat and veg. Huge Yorkshire pudding too. The taste was delicious and the carrots and parsnips were perfection. First time I’ve had a roast here and would absolutely be coming again. Staff were attentive and very friendly. They were happy to give a huge jug of gravy too. Dessert was delicious. We had the salted caramel Sunday mmmm. Can’t wait to go back for another Roast dinner.

Nicely presented Sunday roast with good variety of vegetables

First time visiting for work, had a Sunday roast. The roast came out in under two minutes of ordering and that's no exageration, a red flag in my opinion and I was rightly disappointed. Roasties were soggy, beef was pretty poor, fatty and just looked of dull quality which made me wonder if it had been made and sat under light heat until an order was made, it wasn't very hot.... Big roast dinner fan so I was sadly very disappointed at the quality in comparison. Pub itself is a lovely, very large open plan restaurant, nice atmosphere and helpful staff. Couldn't fault the pub itself, the food however was a disappointment, I will not be eating there again.

A pipe issue gave a metallic edge to the lager I had. The steak and Thai meal are not worth the money, even with a 30% discount.

Can't fault the breakfast. Everything was fresh and delicious in the continental and the cooked breakfast was lovely. The member of staff was also very accommodating

Absolutly excellent!! When we arrived we were seated promptly with a lovely kind welcome. Food arrived hot, quickly & was very enjoyable. The breakfast we had was excellent value and we will absolutely be back for another breakfast soon. Thank you.

When we arrived the restaurant was fairly busy but service was very quick, the food arrived quickly and was delicious. The breakfast gives excellent value for money and the included continental breakfast was a wonderful addition. Would highly recommend visiting the Canterbury Bell.

Been here a few times , very friendly staff ,food is very good and lots of choice of drinks ,think most places like this can be pricey but treat yourself to dinner and pudding , I love the fact it’s dog friendly and in the summer they have like an outside wooden shed ideal for shade for my dog ,also I little play area for the kids well worth visiting

My elderly Dad loves coming here but honestly I cringe every time, the food seems to have gotten worse over the years. From burgers to steak to pasta, it just doesn't hit the mark. I have to say the staff are all very friendly and attentive and it's always quite full of people.

It was warm and welcoming, the staff were friendly and gave great service. Although we was disappointed to find out there was no roast dinners or steak left which felt half the menu gone. We went for my brothers 30th and we had some very disappointed adults with this and we had two very upset children as we had high hopes for roast. On a Sunday and they run out of roast dinners! However all the food we ordered was absolutely amazing, tasted it great. We will definitely be back we just hope this time we get what we came for a Sunday roast !

Excellent service food and staff

Promptly seated, ordered from the table on the mobile site. Food was decent, could have been hotter, and we could have done with a mobile app, but that's nit-picking. Staff were friendly and efficient.

The food, service and venue are all excellent. Was really pleased that I had chosen to visit for a get together with family. Couldn't have been bettered. Long may these high standards continue.

Lovely food and good choice on the menus. Staff always friendly and efficient. Good atmosphere. Ideal place to meet and catch up with friends, family and has a child friendly area. There’s a seating area outside which is lovely when the weather is nice. The 30% off also makes a big difference when deciding where to eat, value for money is always essential. Has good parking as well so the Canterbury Bell comes up trumps on all fronts. Definitely recommend a visit.

Very good service at the table, lovely food

We felt the service give by are server was very good indeed, I thought my mixed meat roast dinner was excellent. Especially the roasted carrots and parsnips. My partner was a little disappointed when you had no olive oil to go with her salad.

Food was good. My son enjoyed his chicken gougons. Though It'd have been better if came with some peas. I had burger, it was nice, though it did drip some grease which was off putting. Would come again though.

Great food, reasonable prices, friendly staff and nice warm cosy atmosphere. We had dinner and breakfast as was staying overnight next door. Great location for a weekend away to beat the winter blues. Will come back in the summer months.

Fantastic food the food was fabulous and faultless. It was actually nice to see a menu including the 2 course or 3 course menu that has great choices at good prices and spoilt for choice. The service was so good and quick. The atmosphere was lovely and plenty of space. The gentleman who served us couldn't of been more polite and professional. Will be visiting more now. Lovely spacious place, service was excellent & very friendly. I had a 3 meat roast, it was ok not the best I've tasted. Not that hot in temperature & to be honest mine are better but, I still enjoyed my meal out & would try again in the future.

Always made to feel welcomed, we had booked for two but turned up as three which was no problem just a very short wait as it was very busy. Our meal was delicious, highly recommend.

We had a great meal. The staff were really attentive and engaging which is quite rare these days. The food was cooked well and I would highly recommend the restaurant.

The waitress we had was brilliant, had lovely food. Never had a bad meal. The bar staff let the evening down. There was no change in the tills so ended up getting all 2pences. Nearly got given 2 dirty glasses til we pointed it out and not enough staff serving.

Two details stopped this place getting a 5*. The bread that came with the prawn cocktail was tasteless and dry and the cost of drinks was outrageous. Otherwise the rest of the food was excellent and the service was extremely friendly. Price of drinks would prevent me returning.

As usual the drinks etc are fine, no problem. A tray of dirty glasses on the table when we arrived, still there when we left two hours later. If you are only visiting for drinks you are obviously not classed as important as people who are eating. Amazing as the wine and beers cost a lot more than some people appear to spend on their meals!!!

This was my second visit in January, my first visit in December was good overall and coffee with a lovely creme. The second visit was somewhat underwhelming, food ok coffee like dishwater, really put me off visiting again.

Lovely lunch and service was excellent.. big well done to our server Cameron for his professional and courteous approach. Very kind, clear and precise and a lovely manner. Made our lunch more enjoyable.. Cameron should be praised by his peers for his service!

Never had a bad meal at the Canterbury bell, whether that's a burger or roast dinner! They also offer vegan dishes, which is helpful for us dairy intolerant folks 😅

Everything was absolutely great

Rib eye steaks were slightly over cooked and pretty tasteless. One tiny mushroom and an undercooked beef tomato. Not good value at over £20. Service was slow, had to ask to order and get up and go and find the drinks menu. Once finished they rushed you out paying the bill.

Had a Sunday lunch here today a d was served by Jordan, absolutely delicious food, nice size plate and hot when brought out, Jordan was lovely and kind, will be coming back again

Easy to order, Quick service, lovely staff, food was delicious, had fish and chips and 8oz ribeye for mains, crumble and sticky toffee pudding for dessert, all came hot and tasted fresh. Will definitely be back

I'm not one for complaining but as you sent survey I will vent my frustration. You sent an email advertisement of 30% of mains. I took the opportunity replied to the email and booked a table for 2. Upon arrival showed to a table by a member of staff at which I explained I had a booking. I had a steak meal of which the steak was very chewy yes I did not express my feelings but did not eat all either. Upon paying the bill my mother paid I did not get a chance to look at the bill. After paying I did notice the bill and see all costings were at menu price with no sign of 30% discount. Having asked I was told I should of said before bill was paid. Nothing could now be done. At that point waitress walked off. When paying the bill my mother asked about a tip after actually tapping the payment device with her card. Waitress replied it's better to pay cash as a tip as a card payment added to bill she would only get a percentage. My mother gave a £20.00 note asking for change to give a tip. 2x£5 and 1x£10 given as change £5 of which was given as a tip. What with this action I'm sure the bill could have been cancelled and discount been applied and bill repaid. This experience is why I have given low scores I'm not saying I will not be returning BUT I will certainly not be rushing back and I have expressed my experience with different people I have met since. Sorry to say one unhappy customer.

Menu could be bit more of a range the hunters chicken was nice and the chunky chips it comes with was nice the garlic bread however was more herb than garlic didn’t like the fact they allowed a dog In the restaurant (wasn’t a service dog) it was on the chairs

Ate here last night and was impressed with the quality of the food. The chips are great and meats cooked to perfection. Thanks to the kitchen staff for doing a great job and front of house for their service. I'm visiting the area but will be sure to return again.

On a very busy day we had lovely freshly cooked food, that was hot and very tasty. I am a vegan and it was the best vegan meal out I think I’ve had. The service was great too and I’d definitely recommend.

Arrived on a cold winters day, inside was warm and welcoming. Our table was nicely positioned and staff were polite and friendly. We liked that it was dog friendly. Food and drink was ordered from a menu that had a good choice. Food and drink was served in a reasonable time. I had scampi which was fine but I've had better and I will be trying something else next time. We also had dessert which was great. We had 30% off mains voucher which made it good value for money.

Yet another new pub restaurants from Marston. Same menu. Great staff with reasonably priced food

Always lovely visit about twice a week however last night meal was not very good my steak was so tough I couldn’t eat it I ended up taking it home for my dog who even had trouble chewing it

It was very busy and we had to wait a while for our table but the table service was excellent and all the food was lovely. I was particularly impressed with my medium rare sirloin steak. It was cooked correctly which not many restaurants pull off! We will be back again soon.

Great place to visit, friendly efficient and the food is so well prepared (when you ask for a steak to be medium rare… it actually comes to you medium rare!!) little things but makes a meal there count and you want to return. 👍
