For the first time my family felt being ignored because we did not wanted any drinks and only interested in food. For 40 minutes nobody came to take our food order although place got busy only 20minutes after we were sitting already (all new seated customers received their drinks). Ended up getting fish and chips take away from different place. Food on the menu looked promising but we left hungry. Do not like leaving negative reviews but after consulting the family, decided to share our experience.

Had a lovely afternoon at The Oak Hotel's "Resturant sixty six" served by a friendly and attentive lady called Ellis. The menu offered a great choice, we all went for the Bacon cheese burger with brioche bun and home cut chips all of us were pleased with our choice. Ellis was a great hostess and made sure we had a great experience. Highly recommend several tables with views over the harbour. Covid-19 safe and everywhere was spotless. Good choice of drinks. We will be back for the Sunday Roast.

Food quality much better than expected for a pub / Hotel. Accommodated ketogenic diet requirements for my daughter without issues so service and chef are top notch. Anyone who has dietary requirements will understand how important this is because the chains struggle

The food was ok, standard pub fayre. The service was good, attentive & friendly without being claustrophobic. The beer list was poor with nothing beyond the standard generic tap lagers & the token Doombar.

Good food, nice service. Had the 3 course special. Loved the aquatic take on scotch eggs. Not so sure about the various things my food was served on/in, I'd have preferred plates. Had Doombar, which was ok but not in top condition. Overall value was good though.

Service was slow, and when we ordered our food the young lady behind the bar seemed irritated by out interruption. I had a trio of burgers, which were warm and tasteless with a bucket (very small bucket) of soggy over cooked chips with the skins on, not how it was described on the menu.

This place is right on the front, has a cafe, pub and restaurant. The restaurant has a great range of food and some amazing deals. We had fish and chips in a bucket (nicer than it sounds) and Brie wedge to start - both fantastic, then steak with prawns and baked cod. Both perfectly cooked and served with veg.Dessert was lavender creme brûlée and profiteroles. The whole meal with a bottle of red wine came in at UNDER £40Said the deals were good:)You would think that for this money the food would be average BUT it is really very good indeed

We were there early afternoon for dinner which was excellent value and the service was efficient, friendly. Although there were people sitting outside, on a lovely day, we chose to eat inside and were the only ones to do so. The young waitress, a student on a holiday job, was so polite and could not have been more helpful. We chose from the menu and I had Haddock and my wife the "Hunter" chicken which were perfectly cooked and well presented, great value for the price paid. Sitting outside would have given us a lovely view of the harbour, but also the passers by and the traffic, so in my opinion indoors was the better choice.

Tuesday to Thursday evenings a 3 course meal for two with a bottle of wine will only cost £35! Our starters looked, and tasted, delicious - we shared them! The main courses were beautifully cooked and were of such quantity that we couldn't manage desserts. The restaurant was reasonably busy, so there was a good atmosphere. The service was excellent and, once we have tried a few more of our local eating houses, we will certainly return here!

myself and my partner ate at restaurant 66 on 12th march 2014 in the evening, the restaurant had about 10 people dining, with a very nice ambience, candle lit tables, fresh flowers, and very comfortable, we were warmly welcomed, seated, asked what we would like to drink, told what the fresh soup of the day was then left to choose our meal, we were looking for something a little different as we often dine out.I wont spoil the surprises by telling you exactly what we ate but I will say that it was a surprising culinary delight, with what we both found to be an explosion of great flavours, i don't normally write reviews but this was a meal that I will remember for a long time and thought I should share.

Went to the restaurant tonight. Party of 6, very quiet. Sat at our table at 20:00.We weren't asked if we wanted drinks when we sat down so we had to interrupt a very disinterested waitress, who seemed to be socialising with her friends, if we could order some drinks Had to wait 45 minutes for starter, they brought the first 4 starters then we had to wait another 10 minutes for the last 2 starters. Main courses appeared very rapidly after we had finished starters. Seemed like they really couldn't get their timings right. Very poor experience, which, if it had been busy, would have been more acceptable but due to the fact that it was quite quiet, really let it down and made a mockery of the reviews we had read. Overall, would not recommend it to anyone and will definitely be adding this review to other social media sites.

Went to Restaurant 66 on the 1st of November after Popping to Ramsgate to pick something up, and decided to pop out for some dinner before heading back. After a minute or so of trying to get in as it was not obvious where the door is, we followed the corridor round to the quite small restaurant area.We had the 'From the Sea' platter for starters which was a delicious selection of cold meats, bread and pate. For mains we got the 'Fish Friday" which is fish and chips for two for only £15! I ordered a pot of curry sauce for a £1 supplement and it was mouthwateringly nice on the homemade chips with the skin left on. After that we were stuffed and couldn't fit in pudding but the meal was delicious. We had a platter, fish and chips and two soft drinks and it came to 33.65 after they took 25% of the price of our main as its a November offer they are doing. Defiantly considering going back for Wednesdays Steak Night, which is Steak meal and wine for £10 each!

A éviter.

Wednesday is steak night, 10 pounds for steak and chips + a glass of wine. This was a total bargain as it was one of the best steaks I've ever had; so tender, and it was really nice wine.On the downside, the skin-on chips were not crispy and were on the soft, slightly greasy/soggy side (the following night we went to the steak night a Age & Sons, their thrice cooked chips beat these hands down although the rest of that dining experience was disappointing), but they went down OK.The service was excellent, the staff were friendly and attentive, coming back to check we had everything and that all was OK. The restuarant was fairly busy but we didn't have to wait too long at any point. For 'afters' we shared a cheeseboard: a selection of local Kent cheeses, served with crackers, celery, grapes, a caramalised red onion relish and a cranberry relish, which was all totally YUM!! :-)The rest of the menu seemed very interesting and reasonable, with a specials board with some unusual items.Definitely worth a visit.

I should like to recommend the 66 Restaurant, both for its service (very patient and good-humoured with a party who took an unconsciable time to make up their minds! I was amazed to read some of the more critical recent reviews. We were not charged upfront for any of the courses we ordered. We settled our bill at the end of our meal in the normal way. As already mentioned, our waitress was polite, friendly and attentive, and the meal was excellent. I had the jumbo scampi, (which for once really were jumbo!) with a very well-dressed salad and the chips which I think were baby new potatoes roasted in their skins and roughly cut into approximate chip shapes. Usually I never finish my portion of chips, but these were so tasty, crisp outside and meltingly soft within, that I devoured every single one. The food may have been simple, but it was excellent. Despite the poor review of the sticky toffee pudding, I ordered this. It was not too small, neither was it dry – quite the reverse – and was served with a portion of very good icecream too. We were a party of three adults and two small children. Only one other of the adults had a pudding, the other was too full! I understand that the triple chocolate mousse was also very good. I think the sharing platters are a very good idea also, though on this occasion, since everyone wanted something different, we opted for separate meals from the extensive menu. Considering the quality of the food and service I consider the prices reasonable too. We ate out at two other restaurants in Ramsgate during our week there, one of which was pricier and by no means as good. I should also like to praise the warm and relaxing ambience too. My son and daughter-in-law had eaten once before at this restaurant, two years ago. They loved it then and still do.

We did not realise this place was linked to the Oak Hotel as we ambled along on a lovely day, along the harbour looking for lunch and a few glasses of wine, for 5 middle aged ladies. The menu looked like our type of thing for outside, but nobody around and totally without customers. Went in, taking a chance. We had great sharing platters to start and the mains were great tooOur main concern was that we had to pay for everything up front before we got anything. ..WHY? This is not a norm!We wanted to see how much food we got as a starter before we ordered our mains. This we could not doThe food was excellent as I have said in the previous paragraph, but we would have changed our mains, had we known what we were getting for the starters.. We wasted quite a bit.We were told about 4.00pm that they were closing and to take our empty glasses and wine cooler back to the Oak, which we did, but why? Are they not supposed to give us service too?Had we been given the bill and the service after the meal, we would have delightfully given a generous tip, which we were not able to do66 and the Oak.. You are missing a huge opportunity to get trade in. Have some-one out there explaining your delightful deals and pay after at the end of a meal as usual?-

We have just returned to Dover from a couple of weeks in France and came up to Ramsgate as we'd never visited this area. We stopped for lunch intending to book a room at the Oak Hotel which has this restaurant.. The service was very very slow. When I complained the manageress was both strident and agressive/defensive. "We cook from fresh you know! " "yes, of course you do it's a restaurant". "We're very busy!" "But at just after one when we sat down there was only one man in the restaurant" "No it wasn't just after one!" at which point I gave a tenner for our drinks and left. I wonder where she was trained (if at all) and why our seaside resorts are not better supported?

I'd been a couple of times when the restaurant was the 'Atlantis' and had always enjoyed the food, the atmosphere was great too as there were always other customers in, and we often had to wait 10 minutes for a table.I was disappointed to go to Restaurant 66 and to find that there was zero atmosphere (and zero other customers), and that the background music was very loud - probably because there were no customers.Bread was provided whilst we looked through the menu - it was completely stale, and cut into tiny pieces. We brought this to the attention of the waiting staff, who promptly brought out some fresher bread which was much nicer. We ordered a mezze platter - all of which was bought in, and came across a piece of gravel (an actual stone!) in the hummus - the waiting staff were very apologetic, and took the mezze platter off the bill. My colleague ordered the soup of the day, which was French onion, and said that the crouton on the top was really tasty.Overall, disappointing food, but the staff dealt with the problems promptly and professionally. We probably won't be going again!

Called in on Saturday late lunch with the family, the service was superb but sadly the food was distinctly average. A starter of filled jackets was actually a bowl of cut baby potatoes sprinkled with analogue cheese and a splash of paprika The fresh local fish was plaice which was so small it was lost. The deserts were dreadful, the ice cream contained lots of ice which indicates a defrost and refreeze. The sticky toffee pudding was a 4 cm square about 1cm thick and was stale. They didn't charges us for one of he deserts and were very apologetic. I will try again but only because the two waiting staff were excellent and perhaps the kitchen was just having a bad day.

We had a dinner here on one of our two nights in Ramsgate, based on reviews and I have to admit it didn't live up to expectations. The staff were friendly enough, but I do find it grating when a party ordering ten minutes after us, gets their starters first. The food was ok, but pretty average really - the tiniest king scallops I've ever seen, a quite stringy and well over-seasoned ribeye and lime and vanilla cheesecake that didn't manage either flavour to any appreciable degree. For the price, you can have far better at the Royal Harbour Brasserie.

Was croweded outside Miles Bar so sat outside the oak where the tables were less crowded with more space & I saw that their sister restuarant the atlantis had a lunchtime offer on of 2 courses for £10 or 3 courses for £12. Which sounded much better than a baguette for £7.50 at Miles Bar ! And I`m so glad we did ! We had sardines to start, lovely fresh grilled sardines ( Without the heads thank god) + some rocket with a lovely tangy tomatoe sauce, followed by catch of the day which was freshly battered cod with crispy chunky chips & home made tartare sauce. Followed by sticky toffee pud for me ( Which comes with a scoop of ice-cream & a little jug of toffee sauce ) And Sis had Lemon cheese-cake. Very nicely presented & very tasty ! Was like something out of a top eaterie in London. Portions not vast, but certainly adequate. We were both stuffed after 3 courses and a bottle of wine. Mum had no idea there was a basement! The room had an overwhelming smell of drains(?) which was very unpleasant and unappetising. The food was generally OK. My duck was perfectly cooked, husband's monkfish good as was mum's sea bass although my father's calves liver had rather a lot of pipes running through it. There were no other guests dining in the basement and when we left the upstairs area was still empty so why were we dumped down there? At least get the smell sorted out please!

I went here with my husband for New Year. The food was delicious - particularly the duck breast which was the nicest we'd ever had. The service was excellent - very accomodating when I requested a slight change to my main course. We've eaten here a lot of over the years and the quality has gone up and up - the restaurant manager in particular is really pleasant and highly efficient. Would certainly recommend.

Fish and big fat chips highly recommended. The restaurant Atlantis has a warm local feel to it with some romantic jazz music the night we were there.

Had a reservation for the Saturday night had seen the menu earlier in the day and were looking forward to the Dover Sole and Sea Bass. On arrival went to the restaurant in basement area the staff were not sure if our table was there or upstairs in the seafood bar we were eventually told " it looks like we've got you down here " very welcoming ! The menu handed to me was stained and had food stuck to it and the plastic pages in the wine list were stuck together. When deciding what to order we were first told that the Dover Sole was off, then minutes later the Sea Bass was off, as" they had been busy that day." ( why is it only in England that this is used as an excuse for underordering or shortage of staff as if having too many paying customers in a so called recession is a problem ) We decided to leave at that point so cannot give a review as to the quality of the food/service or value

We have eaten on a regular basis in Atlantis overlooking Ramsgate Royal Harbour since it opened several years ago .T he ground floor tables near the window have veiws to die for!As of this week with Bobby the new chef and Aimee the new manager they have introduced an exciteing new menu with the obvious emphasis on fresh local seafood. My partner and i were lucky enough to have lunch there this week and bagging table 99 right in the window. The food was delicious. Having just returned from Spain we went all tapas & orded 6 starters to share these consisted of fresh crab ravioli on tomatoe and rocket with roasted tomatoe dressing to salmon& dill filo tart with tomatoe salsa our favourite were the stuffed baked squid with olives&anchovies with a sweet tomatoe sauce. The main courses look adventerous with items like curried monk fish with chick peas&yogurt. We are already planning our next lunch a must for all seafood lovers.A thank you to Lauren,Jake and Cat for treating us so royaly.

Top notch fish dishes nicely presented. We had halibut in moules stock and seabass on scallop and spinach risotto for lunch. Didn't need the standard bowls of veg as well.

After being let down at another restaurant in Ramsgate we strolled along to the harbour to find this great little gem. We sat outside on a lovely sunny day with the staff being wonderful and the menu having such a great choice, the presentation and quality could not be faulted this is surly a great find with the big surprise being the bill at the end so reasonable. Try the mussels the best I have had for a long time we will definetly be back well done Atlantis

This is part of the unprepossessing harbourside Oak Hotel and I went along with no great expectations only to be pleasantly surprised. The chef obviously knows his business and the decent fish and seafood were extremely well presented. All served by friendly, obliging staff. You could do a lot worse.

First of all, there is not much to choose from when dining in Ramsgate outside of the pub scene. However, there is this one pub looking location next to the Oak Hotel facing the Royal Harbour that has a pleasant surprise awaiting. The normal menu looks very nice and provided great value from a read. On the nite I dined, the regular menu was not available and there was a 10 GBP prixe fixe menu choosing type of fish (from 5) and the cooking style, two sides and dessert. I went with the skate wine, mushy peas, chunky chips and sticky toffee pudding. I must say, this was one of the best dinners I have had in the UK and the price was by far the best value for my money. Additionally, the chef took great pride in his plate ware and presented a basic meal in fine fashion. The atmosphere is warm with nautical pictures. The restaurant is small, but was not crowded and given I dined before the summer crowds arrive. The service was a young chap that was very friendly.

My husband and I went in for coffees. We both left them on the table as it was too disgusting to drink. My cappuccino had an artificial saccharine taste and no coffee flavour whatsoever. It tasted like the cheap Poundland packets. It was watery, sugary, artificial tasting , cheap muck. My husband’s filter coffee was no better. It was watery and tasteless . Definitely won’t be back.

Out first ever visit and we were impressed by what we had for lunch. We only chose a wrap and jacket potato, respectively, but both were beautifully presented, nicely done and very tasty. The restaurant was spotless and the service was excellent - staff were friendly and knowledgeable.
