My husband and I had a good meal. My gnocchi was usual and very tasty. We were so fortunate to have aview over the sea and the most beautiful sunset. All the staff were lovely and helpful. But you do need to book on a sunny evening.

We had the best doughnuts at this cute cafe. I unfortunately left my purse outside but it was found by the staff and returned to me by the manager James. I can't thank them enough for this and it reminded me that there are still honest, decent people. When in Margate again we will definitely return to this cafe.

What a shame, this place is in an ideal location, serves good food but the staff including manager let this place down. We were sat outside and had paid and eaten our food we had bought at the cafe. When we asked to use the toilet for a 4 year old child in our group we were met by rude and aggressive staff, in particular the manager. I understand not being able to access the toilets if you are not a paying customer but when you have spent money at a place surely one child should be able to use the toilet. We have visited Margate for the past 2 years and always buy from this cafe, never again! Do not recommend this place unless you want a mouth full of abuse with your chips.

One side is take away the other side is for seating customers. From the moment you walk in to the moment you leave the waitress was warm, inviting and excellent service. A great place to sit with a coffee,relax on either the top seating or sun trapped area below. Great selection of food at average prices. A little gem in Margate.

Breakfast drinks with friends this sunny morning. All drinks were good quality machine made coffee,at sensible prices. We sat outside,great place to catch the morning sun.

Wanting a sit down, I had a decent enough 99 ice cream but my husband said his coffee was undrinkable.

Perfect location for afternoon tea that merges into cocktails. We didn't dine here as had reservations elsewhere but it would be somewhere I would happily try at a later date.

Sunday roast was incredible. They also do vegetarian food. I had a champagne beer that was also very very good 5 stars. @davidcannonyesil

Very friendly welcome and service. Food was excellent (not greasy!) with a wide selection. Very good value and even a free gift for our 5 year old.

This bar is very clean, run by young, friendly staff. Has a seating area for customers, good selection of food, as on holiday, went for donuts and ice cream, as it was very hot. Reasonably priced eatery that was actually open!!

I can't comment on main food but if the coffee and good customer service is anything to go by it should be great too. Beautiful spot over looking the main Margate sands, great outside decking&space. Very good prices.

Lovely place great views of the sands. I really enjoyed the ham egg and chips great portions freshly cooked real chips. Quick service as well Only downside expensive bread

We popped in here for morning coffee and enjoyed the lovely views of the sea from their position right on the main promenade. A couple of very nice coffees were brought up by the friendly staff. A very nice way to start our break in Margate.

Sands restaurant has delightful suroundings and the staff were very helpful. The food was lovely and everyone was pleased with their meal choices. The restaurant layout has lovely table settings with candlelights, it is very spacious and comfortable. An ideal place for a family gathering.

When advertised as a family restaurant you expect to be greeted with a friendly atmosphere, not what we experienced.located right on the beach I took my daughters and grand daughter here to eat. 3 portions of chips, 4 drinks and fish and chips ago or sized portion but for just under £25 not exactly good priced. The food was not the best chips were dry and my fish was dripping in fat so much so that I had to dry it with my napkin before I could eat it. The food was served by a young girl who almost threw the plates at us as she placed them on the table.as we watched the staff push past us at the tables followed with a glare as if we shouldn't be sat there it was rather uncomfortable. After trying to finish our food we went to pay and had to wait while the girl had a conversation with what seemed like a friend while we stood at the counter waiting we left and then went to get some doughnuts from there take away counter,I asked the girl if I could be given my change in coins this was very rudely met with the reply of "I don't think so" with a very rude attitude. I have never experienced such poor,rude customer service and will not return and will advise anyone I know not to visit this place whilst in Margate.

Llevé a mi hijo de 5 años (que era destructores) para usar los baños. Los inodoros cerrada, así que nos fuimos a la barra para pedir que se liberen y me preguntaron por el personal si yo era un cliente que paga (obviamente, no?) así que se negaron a desbloquear los inodoros y señaló a los aseos públicos en el otro extremo de la playa.

A swish eaterie, would not be out of place in London, Quality surroundings and food. Do try the afternoon tea. And for a formalm or informal dinner, it takes a lot of beating

In the evening this place turns into a wine bar fantastic views and good wine,beer.recommend the wine with cheese and meat platter for two.nice friendly atmosphere and on a sunny evening you almost feel your abroad.margate is on the up and well done to the business owners who are working hard to make this happen.

Fuimos para el almuerzo con mi esposa para nuestro aniversario. La comida era estupenda - artísticamente presentado y muy sabroso. Lo que hizo que toda la experiencia especial fue la atención y el servicio que recibimos del personal - mi mujer tiene problemas dietéticos complejas y el personal y los chefs trabajó duro y creativa para entregar un almuerzo para recordar. Ambiente y decoración de Arenas es genial, vale la pena ir y que te mimen vosotros

Great little café with a variety of food that always is at great standard.. Deffo worth visiting even if you only want a drink! Lovely staff and clean environment as well. I would recommend any body visiting if you are in the neighbourhood because it's always a little treat in this café!

Food described quite well but didn't match up to expectations. Final straw when I asked for cows cheese (minimum of 3 cheeses at £2.00 per slice) I was presented with goats. I complained - staff laughed.Taking money but no customer care

The Marine Sands Family Restaurant is a small wooden cabin located on the beach providing a wide range of ice creams, snacks, lunches, hot and cold foods. It is often mistaken by reviewers with the 'Bay' Restaurant of 'The Sands Hotel', which provides a more high class dining experience. Most people visit the Marine Sands Family Restaurant for a quick bite or to enjoy a warming drink out of reach of the harsh sea breeze, our visit was also a brief one too, grabbing a snack before heading home. Service was excellent throughout our visit, and we were invited to either sit inside in the warmth or use the outside balcony for a lovely sea view, we chose the latter. My wife tried a doughnut but it wasn't cooked thoroughly, staff apologised and provided a replacement, which was brown and obviously cooked for much longer but it was still stodgy inside and quite inedible. We put it down to being the end of the day, perhaps the oil wasn't hot enough. The outside bench tables did not have any umbrellas during our visit and greedy gulls watching you from the restaurant's rooftop can and do make an occasional mess on tables and seats below them, so choose your position wisely. Inside really is best if you want to enjoy your meal in peace, without the risk of sand, or worse.

My husband and I were spending a few days in Margate and we popped into the Sands Hotel for coffee one morning. We looked at the menu for dinner and decided to have a treat that evening. It was super such a choice I had wild board and my husband had duck. The whole meal was delicious and well prepared and served. The service was extremely good and the cocktails were great. We had a really lovely evening. It was expensive but worth every penny of the experience. We will be going again.

My husband and I went to Sands last night for a meal and I have to say that despite a 'wobbly' start, when the hotel/restaurant first opened, they are now a first class establishment.. We have eaten in the restaurant many times but the improvements that have been made with staff training and quality of food is very noticeable.The staff were smiling, friendly and attentive. The food was amazing. The restaurant was full and the buzz was palpable. It is so nice that Margate now has an establishment of such quality, which has been sadly lacking for many years. It was one of the most enjoyable evenings we have experienced for a long time. Well done to the staff and management - you should be proud of yourselves - Thank -you.

This is well positioned cafe, right on Margate sands, the fish and chips were so good here, we returned again. There are also some great chef's special and if you are in Margate for the day or for a little longer, the locals like this place and so will you.

We had the market lunch menu, the food was absolutely delicious and well priced, we will definitely be back, we want to share tho lovely place with all of our friends

An unexpected pleasure in faded glory Margate. Very good,inexpensive lunchtime meal, attentive polite service,and a fantastic view over the beach. There is an outside terrace. They also serve traditional afternoon teas,which looked very appealing and were also highly recommended by other diners

We visited this restaurant for a cream tea. Lovely environment overlooking Margate beach. We had pre booked but were unable to have a table on the verandah as were fully taken. (Advise to book early) both the choice of tea and the scones were delicious but the cream provided was a obit lacking for three of us. A lovely treat and enjoyed by all.

What a place !!!!!!!!!! what can i say , its lovely airy,clean ,the people are very helpful and polite. The food is excellent , with lovely service. The view is spectactular ,just what Margate needed ..will be going more often ....

Traditional cafe with almost vintage furniture etc - good quality and service.Set on the seafront good for the beach and all seafront.
