Posillipo in Thanet

A tasting menu was an understatement. So much good food. 8 courses. Beautifully presented and served with enthusiasm and joy. Congratulations to the chef Luca and the owner, Speedy. We absolutely loved the evening.

We joined the Taster Menu evening on 13th November which consisted of 8 courses and a plate of appetizers. All courses were absolutely incredible and the service and friendly interaction from the Posillipo staff was - as always - simply perfect. My wife and I had a wonderful time and looking forward to the next one! PS: Value for money wise the best taster menu we have ever had!

Brought the family for a birthday dinner. We always have such delicious food and great service. It is our go-to restaurant whenever we come to Broadstairs.

Amazing 🤩 We had been reluctant to go to this restaurant having had very grumpy poor service a few years ago a few times so hadn’t gone back. However this time it was VERY different! We were quickly greeted by a lovely young lady with a big smile and were introduced to Olly. He was amazing and attentive all night! I even had a birthday ice cream with a candle in it and a hearty round of Happy Birthday sung by the staff!! The food was amazing too! Would happily go back again now! Well done Posillipo’s!

The Service was charming but sadly the food was mediocre to terrible the was wine fine. But wouldn't bother going again.

My adult Daughter & I dined here yesterday afternoon. We were welcomed immediately and were seated outside (which we asked for). From the minute we waked in the staff were friendly and attentive. The location is great, with views of the bay. We ordered bread and pasta bolognaise. My Daughter wanted a different pasta, which was no problem at all to change. I had the pappardelle as listed on the menu. We have both dined in countless restaurants worldwide and we both agreed it was one of the best bolognaise dishes we had ever tasted. It was amazing! The portion size was plentiful. My Daughter couldn't finish hers, so we took the rest of hers away. (We probably didn't need the bread! Which, incidentally was also great. 3 different types, which we had with olive oil & balsamic vinegar). I had Peroni & she had wine to drink. The staff were fantastic. They were attentive, friendly and a credit to the restaurant. The service charge was added, but it was reasonable. I checked with the waitress that the staff receive this and she confirmed that they do, so I added a bit more to it as the service was so good. I live locally and will be a regular customer from now on! Thank you Posillipo for such a lovely experience.

The place looked OK. Not very busy at the time we went (15:00h) but could also be due to their prices. Extremely expensive for what it is or rather for the size of portions! I was also charged £13.50 for a 75cl bottle of beer, outrageous! Not even at Via Veneto, Rome, you will be charged that.

Cam and Louie were very good waiters👍 delicious food, lovely drinks and great service. Really impressed by the garlic bread and Italian lemonade

We visited here for my sisters birthday. A regular visitor to Posilipo, I’m always impressed with the delicious food and lovely atmosphere. This time we also had a brilliant server, Louis/louie: he made the whole experience another level of enjoyment! Thank you Posilipo ☺️

This is a gem of a restaurant in Broadstairs. The food is excellent and Antonio and his staff combine highly professional service with friendliness and warmth. A very happy experience!

The atmosphere was impeccable and so friendly, me and my husband were very impressed by the young waiter louie, he made our dining experience an absolute dream, he was thoughtful, caring and funny. We had the bruschetta to start and then two seafood linguines and they did not disappoint either. Would highly recommend this place for anyone in the area, will definitely be returning soon.

Excellent food, with such a wonderful atmosphere sat in the outdoor area, were made comfortable with heating and the staff were really welcoming and friendly, our waiter Louie was very polite and ensured we had a lovely evening, would definitely recommend this restaurant.

The restaurant was busy. However we did not expect to have to wait for our food for just under an hour for very average Italian food.We were told told when ordering there would been a long wait for our meals and had we been told at the outset,we would have eaten elsewhere we kept reminding the serving staff but they were very flippant and not customer orientated.In addition most of the dishes did not come with vegetables for which additional significant charge were added to the bill plus a 10% service charge In our opinion a con and we would not recommend dining here

We were warmly welcomed. Our order was taken quickly and wine appeared. After that a complete disaster we waited and waited for our meals to be served reminding the staff constantly. They kept saying it would not be long. When we threatened to walk out after over an hour, a miracle happened and our food was served. One of the meals was overcooked but we were to hungry and fed up to complain. An absolutely awful the evening. Steer clear

Pizza’s were good albeit one of them slightly soggy and fell apart so it was more like eating Pizza. Overall still a good experience and the food was good.

I booked my 50th Birthday party at the restaurant in Broadstairs two months ago. We had arranged to have the table out on the balcony, weather dependent. If it was bad we could be accommodated inside with a sea view. A week before the day we called to say the weather prediction looked awful and we would like to be moved inside but still with a sea view and were told we were the only people in the function room so not a problem . At midday on the day I was called to say could we come 30 minutes earlier which we could not but I was still told it was not a problem. When I turned up we were at the back of the room, no sea view and another family were just ordering drinks at the sea view table we had booked. When I confronted the manager there was no apology given nor explanation to what had happened. It transpired they had moved us to the back table just so they could turn the table for another three bookings for pure profit. It was obviously done with no regard for ruining arrangements for my birthday booked so many months ago. What made matters worse I was forced to watch everyone else enjoying the view I had specifically asked for several times over. Please bear this in mind if you are booking a special occasion - it ruined mine!

We came here after a trip to Botany Bay Beach, and fancied some pizza. I had the N'duja, which was absolutely delicious. My son is fussy, and just had chips and shared pizza with his mum, and she had the salami and olive pizza, which she really liked. The drinks were pricey, so we just settled on some soft drinks. The food price was pretty much average for this day and age, £15 each for our pizzas. We were served by a gentleman, whose name I recall as Adrian Marius on the receipt. Good and friendly service. The restaurant was clean, but the upstairs area gets disturbed by the close proximity and poor sound proofing of the toilets' doors. The hand dryers are extremely loud.

Such a poor experience today, my husband sent his food back as the monkfish still had the membrane on it and the other two of us had almost finished our meal by the time his was replaced. Disappointing food and not the usual standard…have you changed chefs??? When the bill arrived instead of the house wine we had ordered we had been charged nearly £30 for a bottle of something else and the waitress told me I should have pointed it out when it arrived!!! I obviously would have if I’d realised they hadn’t given me the house wine I had ordered. Not even a free coffee offered for my husbands bad meal he sent back. Will not be returning due to our experience today.

Seems like a small place from the front but opens up and even has larger amount of seating upstairs. Beautiful food and great service all around.

The restaurant were very accommodating, finding us a table on what was clearly a fairly busy night. The service was exceptional, with food and drink orders taken and served very quickly. My friend and I shared a calzone and a capricciosa which were both delicious, as was the chianti Classico. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening we had at Posillipo and would recommend it to anyone in the area.

It's pretty good when it's quiet but avoid when it's busy. Food was overcooked and obviously kept warm for too long. The soup was tasteless and other dishes were not properly seasoned. Chicken not the best quality. Waiters were great.

Posillipo in Broadstairs has been our go to place for a nice meal for many years now. It has a very welcoming and happy atmosphere. The staff are very attentive, and in particular Antonio and Louie deserve special praise for ensuring that we have a good meal and have enjoyed our time there. The food is beautifully cooked and of ample proportions.

They are just the most lovely people in an amazing lovely restaurant who specialise in great service, great food and superb atmosphere

Posilipos has been in Broadstairs for many years and unfortunately it shows. The dining room felt tired and scruffy, with dirty cutlery and cloudy glasses. We were seated in a drafty corner as a party of 7. Pizzas were soggy and starters not very warm. Staff seemed tired and not particularly bothered about offering service. There were a couple of party's on at the same time and they were prioritised over us, which meant we were waiting for food for a while - not great for children. I probably won't go back. All things considered it just felt mediocre and like they weren't bothered about taking our business.

Wonderful visit with family as we celebrated the Christmas season. I frequently return to Posillipo as I can count on the quality food and drinks! The food is always comparable to authentic Italian food!

Despite booking a table a couple of weeks ago we didn't actually get to eat there, our table was booked at 8pm arrived to be told it would be 10 minutes before it was going to be ready while waiting 3 times a waiter barged past me as he took rubbish out the manager then said it would be another 10 minutes at 8.30pm we still had not been seated so we left as the table had just ordered another glass of wine no apology was made we will not return as ruined our evening

Friendly staff make for a good welcome and warm atmosphere. The main menu doesn't change much but the specials do. And unlike some restaurants, these specials are around the same price as the regular menu

We had poor experience with all the pizzas ordered. The dough was very soggy in the middle of the pizza but around the edges was nice and crispy. The pastas were very nice so was the risotto and fish.
