Amadeus Trattoria Mediterranea in Thanet

We visited for my father-in-laws birthday and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. While we were looking at the menu I saw another table order a Moroccan dish that looked delicious. After asking if the chef was in fact Moroccan, which she is, I decided she’ll probably cook those dishes the best so I had the tajine and wow! I’ve never actually had a dish where the meat is so tender it falls from the bone. This was exactly how you see food online and it tasted exceptional! I could have eaten twice as much. My family all went for the Italian options - I actually thought it was an Italian restaurant but in fact it’s a Mediterranean, hence the different options. All of my family members are vegetarian and it was lovely to have the waitress tell us you can order almost anything and they will make it vege appropriate for you. All in all we all loved the meal and will definitely visit again. Oh, and be sure to save space for the banoffee pie - it’s homemade and absolutely stunning.

A party of nine from wilderness to wonderland each had a wonderful meal all excellent, couldn't fault the cooking or the service. Return visits definitely.

What a fantastic little restaurant! Excellent, friendly knowledgeable customer service from Iman made our evening a delight. Pasta dishes were absolutely delicious and authentic Homemade bonoffee pie a real treat too Charming Mediterranean restaurant with an excellent chef and front of house team. They are even taking Christmas bookings too THANKYOU for a lovely Friday evening, great start to the weekend.

Food was great - portions generous - but the service was very slow.

The restaurant had a good atmosphere and the food was delicious! It’s a small relaxed restaurant. They don’t have a license so you can take your own drinks/wine with you, which was great! Will definitely visit there again!

Anniversary.. husband usually cooks ... always gorgeous food .. I thought I'd treat him to a meal from this place as good reviews .. however after spending £40 on what I thought was a yummy takeaway turned out to be a disaster... 2 tiny bits of lamb that we thought was a starter was apparently the main then 2 bits of soggy bread in mushroom gravy .. worst part was fish linguine with only 2 Prawns... I would not recommend to anyone

Lovely food absolutely delicious. Attentive staff. Catered really well re food allergy. Bit cold so wrap up and very small so book. Plenty of parking near by

Went for dinner with friends. One friend has a number of dietary requirements and all there's were catered for without any fuss. When we booked we were asked for a £5 deposit each which we didn't mind but we did have to ask for it to be taken off the bill which they did straight away. The restaurant was very busy for a Sunday evening. All the food was delicious came out of the kitchen very hot . We all very much enjoyed everything we had . We did have quite a wait but it was well worth it and we were not rushed to finish and leave . I would advise to book a table as it's very small and it would be a shame to miss out. It is quite cold in the restaurant so wrap up.

Just moved into the area and thought we'd try the local dining options. We couldn't believe the quality of this restaurant, given how tucked away it is! Absolutely delicious, my partner said the tagine was even better than the ones she had tried in Morocco and the Italian food was top notch too. Everyone was very friendly and the atmosphere was great, I hope the word spreads and this place gets the recognition and business it deserves. We'll be back soon.

Booked here after a recommendation. We were not disappointed. Brilliant food and good service. I have never seen my husband beaten by a pizza before! He was full up and took the rest home. All the food was delicious and the coffee outstanding Take your own alcohol and no corkage. What a find. We will be returning very soon

Another great meal at this hidden gem of a restaurant. We have eaten here several times and I have tried something different each time. Everything has been wonderful. Do try it, you won't be disappointed.

Although you have to take your own alcohol, it does not take away the excellence of this restaurant. The staff very attentive. The food was absolutely delicious. Good choice on the menu. Genuinely could not fault.

Have been several times in the past. The food was wonderful. This time terrible. Ordered the same meal I had before which was perfect. This time the steak was almost half fat and grisell . Complained .Ask to see the manager he was not available. The chef refused to see us. The chef who cooked this rubbish is the one who decides what is taken of the bill. Not his fault it's the supplier I was told. So he cook's what they are given no matter how bad the steaks are.. The waitress several times raised her eyebrows to other customers implying we were trouble makers. In the end I had to pay half the cost of the steak meal. No amount of money would make up for the ruined evening which was a special occasion. I am sure if the manager/owner had been present this would have been settled amicable without the unnecessary stress and disappointment.

Called for a takeaway as had tried this place when a friend had ordered. My wife was told 45mins as it is a gf one. No problem. She was told they’ll call as well. They didn’t. We turned up to collect after 50mins. Told it’s another 10 mins. Waited. Then told still not ready and at least another 10mins but I can have a complimentary drink lol. Service was awful and what makes it worse was the restaurant was empty. Dominos to the rescue

We eat out quite alot and this is the best meal we've had in a long time, the food was delicious, loads of choice, freshly cooked and great value plus the staff were lovely thank you, will definitely be back 👏

Well worth a visit. Cosy and friendly with a small but delicious menu. Take your own wine (no corkage !). It would have been exceptional if only they had warmed the plates !

Food is bad, atmosphere is 0 I had assistant dog and they did not have a clue about the laws about it. Do NOT go there.. Spoiled my not only evening but all day. Pizza is like you can buy in supermarket but when you are in a restaurant you expect better. Totaly overpriced as well. You are better off at home. They ruined my night. I have over 15 millions viewers .....I know what I'm talking abouts

A real hidden gem of a restaurant. From the outside the place looks more akin to a fast food takeaway place but when you go in, things change quite quickly. While the service was a bit hit and miss thanks to some confusion over payments, the food itself was absolutely gorgeous with loads of flavor but also splendid portioning for the prices. Would love to go again, if only to try out more of the menu.

We had starters and main., It was very busy for a Tuesday night but the service was brilliant, the young lad who was the waiter was lovely and polite. The food was first class and plenty of it

First experience with this restaurant and what a find! Fancying a takeaway I came across this accidentally and I'm so glad I did. Food arrived hot. Hubby had chicken tagine and I had a Calzone. They were so tasty! Will definitely be ordering from them again and may even go for a meal.

The pizza here is good, however the service is terrible. Pre-ordered a pizza at 6pm and asked for delivery at 8pm which was confirmed. Nothing arrived at 8. A few minutes later I received a phone call saying there is a slight delay and pizza wouldn’t be delivered until 8.30pm. At 9pm I called to ask why they still hadn’t arrived and was told they were still yet to be cooked, I was offered a fizzy drink as way of apology. The pizzas finally arrived at 9.30pm. Will not be ordering from here again.

Absolutely lovely, both food and hosts. This is a gem well worth a visit, not licenced, but you are welcome to bring your own, a true taste of the Mediterranean and North Africa.

So chilly in here what shame as food is excellent. Freshly cooked tasty. Lovely staff. But need heating on. I know people who don't go because of cold. Can't wear nice dress as need lots of layers. PLEASE PUT HEATING ON

Unexpectedly came across this place tonight, as the place we were going to was closed, and was very glad to have ended up here! Beautiful food. Really tasty pasta and delicious pizza! Everything tasted so fresh. They don't serve alcohol, but that didn't bother us. (You can bring your own wine, we learnt.) We all said that we will go back here again soon. The only other thing to say is that the service is excellent. Very warm and friendly. Can't wait to return!

Order from this wonderful restaurant and it is always superb Seafood pasta Chicken mushroom dish Garlic bread We have eaten our way through the menu !!!!! Never been to this place before. We wanted to eat at somewhere that served Moroccan food. We had the beef and fish tagine, and they were both delicious. Friendly and homely feel to the place.

Every single plate was delicious, 4 adults and one fussy four year old, all of us had wonderful meals. So glad we found this place, gorgeous food. If we are back in this part of the country again this would be first choice. Is in the top 3 of Italian restaurants I have ever eaten in.

By far the best Italian food I’ve ever had, incredible fresh and flavourful. we felt like we’d stumbled upon Margate’s best kept secret.

This restaurant is little gem..... my partner had fish of the day (there was a choice of smoked haddock, salmon or sea bass) she had sea bass in a fabulous sauce and said it was one of the tastiest and softest she'd ever had. I tried some and it was delicious. I had the Salamino Dolce Latte and again it was faultless, amazing crusty base and delicious. Good size portions, very good prices and impeccable service from the owner Ahmed and his partner. Our first visit but won't be our last. Please note...... they don't offer alcoholic drinks but your welcome to bring your own they'll supply the glasses. This to me is a big bonus as paying restaurant prices for alcohol can often double the final bill. Thoroughly recomend this fabulous little restaurant. Can't wait to go back.

A party of 12 of us enjoyed a 3 course meal at Amadeus last week. Absolutely amazing, can not fault them at all. All meals were delivered swiftly, cooked to perfection and tasted amazing, so much so a few of us requested to take our leftovers home! Not one complaint about the quality of food served. Staff were friendly and approachable, the premises clean, tidy and presentable. I would definitely recommend Amadeus and will be revisiting them again.

Not sure we would go back, very disappointed as we had been recommended this restaurant. The Calzone Carne was very bland and the lamb tagine was also bland in flavour. The service, well we didn't really have any service apart from taking our order and then removing the plates! They did ask how our food was when we asked for the bill! We may have just been unlucky as there was a large family party and a group of rather loud lads sitting behind us who did give us their gin and some tonics as we hadn't realised they didn't have an alcohol licence.

Having left a very positive review on my first visit, we have been very disappointed with our last two reservations, One before Xmas and one last Week. Both times we have turned up with the same two friends only to find the place in darkness....
