Saturday lunchtime booking with friends, excellent service and food, the calzone Calabrese is stunning , really enjoyed the restaurant, highly recommend a visit.

Great food but there is a slighly damp smell in the building.

My wife and I were on a 2 day visit from Yorkshire and were so impressed with our meal that we were back the next day as well. Excellent quality and service in a beautifully decorated restaurant. Thank you.

After reading the reviews on Tripadvisor myself, my mother, and father decided to go for lunch while visiting the town. The restaurant looked quiet so we were dubious at first about going in. So glad we did, we were made to feel very welcome and the ambiance was spot on. The food was excellent, my father is quite the connoisseur when it comes to carbonara and stated that it was one of the best he had ever had! I went for the pizza which was also lovely. Best of all the prize was very reasonable. Would definitely recommend this restaurant!

A very cozy restaurant with well prepared food. The service is impeccable. Both times I dined there, I went without a reservation and had no problems, but it is advisable to reserve in advance.

Excellent restaurant. Had one of the best Italian meals I have enjoyed in a long time, and this includes the most famous in central London. Gorgeous food, beautifully presented and really tasty. Excellent waiter service and classy ambience. Reasonably priced very extensive menu. Thoroughly recommended and 10 / 10. Well done.

This was one of my favourite Italians. However, on our last visit the table clothes were very unironed and the table had paper napkins. I'm absolutely sure that on all our other visits, this wasn't how they ran their business. The food wasn't up to their normal standards, but the service was actually better than normal. I didn't recognise this restaurant at all on this visit. Normally, it's always been almost perfect. We shall return, maybe it was just a blip.

We were looking for somewhere easy and not wildly expensive for lunch. We stumbled across Il Tricolore and it offered a great lunch menu at a very reasonable cost. Service was efficient and very friendly. We'll go back next time we're in Ramsgate!

Booked this restaurant before coming away for the weekend based on the reviews and have to say definitely did not disappoint. The food was exceptional, fresh ingredients, flavours were amazing. Staff were attentive without feeling rushed at all. Best Italian we've ever been too and wI'll definitely be returning.

Been meaning to post a review for some time now. We don't live locally but come to Ramsgate ,2-3 times a year and always make sure we come to this restaurant. First time was when they were based in King Street abd then to their current location. Food and service is superb, have recommended to friends who have also been and loved it. Was there 19/9, had the lobster pasta dish from the specials board, fantastic.

The atmosphere in the restaurant is warm, the service was very fast, the food was delicious, the prices were good and the staff is very welcoming. The person who took our order and served our food, Harleen was super kind, with the warmest smile.

Great restaurant staff welcoming and friendly. Food great quality and good value. Booking advisable at weekends. We had caprino & calamari followed by rib eye steak and pork tenderloin. Rounded meal of with creme brulee and cheesecake. Highly recommended when in Ramsgate.

The food was abselouley delicious and big portions . The staff were verry friendly, the restaurant inside was lovely and warm,not to mention the dessert was so tasty😋 ,I would definitely recommend, and no doubt we be back verry soon 😋 😀 😉

What a fantastic restaurant! Food was delicious, atmosphere was relaxing and cosy and the service was perfect. My parents and I started with the special "Salt & Pepper Calamari" which melted in the mouth. Possibly the best Calamari I've eaten! We all had pasta for mains and everything was fresh, hot and tasty. Seafood was particularly yummy. We had the Risotto Pescatora, Linguini Gamberoni and the Paccheri Caprino. We didn't really have space for dessert but we didn't want to miss out, so mum and I ordered the Pannacotta and the Creme Brulé. Om nom nom 🤤 The staff had big smiles and were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and are already planning another visit in the near future 👍🏼

Amazing food with excellent service

Everything was almost perfect, just one flaw, I had spaghetti with seafood but there were only clams and mussels!! For the rest impeccable service the waitress was very kind!!

Had a small weekend holiday in Ramsgate and booked ahead here as it had good reviews. Service was efficient, friendly and welcoming. Atmosphere and decor very nice as well. Food arrived quickly and to a good standard. Very tasty and wouldn't hesitate to return again. Only drops a star because one of the meals we ordered came with chips, which didn't feel very Italian or that it suited that dish, shouldve been served with new potatoes or salad instead.

Food very staff good waiting times a bit long but given a free bottle of wine as an apology would definetly go again even after the long wait

The food was stunning. We had garlic bread to start, luckily to share as it was eight slices! I have cannelloni and it was delicious. We had a glass of wine and they brought over water for the table. Quick service and friendly staff. Good sized portions for a good price. one step up into the restaurant.

Found this place tucked away near the high street. The decor was lovely and we were seated and served promptly. The food took quite a while to make, despite it not being busy, but it was worth the wait. I had the gnocchi with spinach, and it was absolutely lovely. Had the Blackforest Gateau for dessert and it was amongst the best I've had. I will definitely be recommending this place to my friends. A+

As a family we have eaten here over 20 times and it never fails to deliver great food along with great service. My wife and I ate here yesterday and the food was so tasty, I had the pan fried fillet steak in a Gorgonzola sauce which was cooked to perfection and the sauce was amazing, my wife ordered the swordfish which was outstanding. For dessert we asked for Affogato which isn’t even on the menu !! And again sooo tasty, we will continue to use this restaurant for the food but also for the great staff and friendly service.

Great all-around experience. The fish platter was excellent; huge king prawns, lots of them, sea bass, and scallops. Would definitely return.

Entered restaurant without a booking on the off chance they could squeeze us in. They did and were very welcoming. Wide choice of meals on the menu. Food was served in good time and was lovely. Really friendly staff and nice atmosphere to dine in. Will visit again next time we’re in the area.

Everything about this restaurant is incredible (zero sarcasm), staff service and quality of food is second to none. If your over the age of 9-10 don't order a pasta dish, just stick with the pizza, offensive portion size to say the least; probably could have eaten 5 portions in total.

Everything that was cooked on the grill was burnt and bitter in taste.... The only thing that was fit for consumption was the calzone and the wine. The toilet, which is located in the semi-basement, and to which the stairs lead, covered with a "carpet", which has become dirty and smelly due to time and dampness, similar to dirty rags, deserves special attention. It's a pity for wasted time and money, led to a high rating, but received disappointment! Advice from the staff: regularly and carefully clean the grill and other equipment on which food is prepared !!!!!

We don’t have a lot of reference to make this claim but it does feel like the best restaurant in Ramsgate. Just don’t order the broccoli. We did like the pepper service a lot! Have a drink in the wine bar across the street before! Shout out to Harley-Ann! She was lovely!!! Disclaimer - they put cream in the Carbonara

This was the best meal we have for a long time and we eat at restaurants over the whole country the steak was tender and juicy the sauce is tasty and a good texture the dessert was home made and truly delicious black forest gateaux to die for banoffee pie was incredible.

Good service, great food, will be back again

Trip over from France to visit my niece & family, recently moved to Ramsgate. Already a firm favourite with them, we had a superb meal, totally reasonably priced & top quality produce.

A very clean and brightly decorated restaurant. Staff are very attentive without being overbearing. Food is excellent, without being over priced. Service is surprisingly quick, as the restaurant is busy and it is advisable to book a table in advance so as to avoid being disappointed. Being an Italian restaurant, it is family orientated, with an upstairs section for larger parties.

The food is to die for! I had birthday and anniversary lunch there today and it was 10/10 superb 👌🏻

Very underwhelmed with the 2 dishes me and a friend had. We had a meat combination dish and a fish combination dish. For 2 of the most expensive dishes on the menu was very disappointment to discover both the fish and meats were way overcooked. The meat was dry, tough and under seasoned. Some of the fish was also dry with the 2 king prawns overcooked meaning the shell was stuck to the meat. Also the salad accompanying the combo fish dish was very basic with no dressing and not really enough to accompany the dish, really could have done with some rice on the side! Thought about kicking up a fuss but didn't want to spoil the mood! Don't think I'll be going back unless it's for a pasta dish! Staff and service was 👍 though!

Returning locals. Fantastic food with a great menu. Staff were very welcoming, helpful and attentive. Ramsgate is becoming a food haven but I would rate Il Tricolore and the team as highly recommended and top of the list to visit.

We were in Ramsgate for the weekend and were really pleased we chose Il Tricolore. Very pleasant restaurant with lovely food and welcoming and professional staff. The vegan options don't look groundbreaking on paper but more than happy with the food served - if we were local we would definitely be back.

Great waiting staff & nice restaurant but then the kitchen staff ruined the whole thing, chewy calamari, slimy under cooked chicken, overcooked tough tenderloin, desserts were good, overpriced for the quality. Back to Kumar's for us - consistently excel.

Often you get the customers you deserve in which your business naturally attracts.Iam sure Iam not alone in observing certain clientele in and around certain watering holes in the vicinity.When I entered this charming restaurant last night the first thing I observed were the customers.These we’re people who could perform the basic requirements of an evening out.Clean shoes,smartly attired and all carrying themselves with a certain joie de vivre.Hair and make up to the acceptable standard of a Sunday service and all talking at the volume of a well tuned Bristol.If these people were of a time then put me in a tardis and transport me back there.Harry Secombe and Barbara Woodhouse.A time of decency and correct grammar.An age when people from Birmingham didn’t have to embarrass themselves by trying to read the news.This restaurant is it’s patrons.Attractive,not cheap,has high standards and every morsel was eye wateringly delicious.Will definitely return. semplicemente il migliore!

This is my favourite restaurant. The Services is great. The food is superb. I’ve eaten here many times and never had a bad meal. My partner had calzone that he loved, and I had seafood pasta which was divine The Banoffee pie was wonderful and so was the tiramisu

Can I just add how pleasing it was to be provided with lots of water and refills of water without having to ask! Waiting staff were super attentive but very discreet, they brought candles out and sang to daughter at desert (she was so touched), and then waiting to open the door as we leave - it’s the small but very important things that are very much noticed and appreciated! All these touches made us want to order more food and drink, plus we’ll be shouting about our experience to others and will defo back for more, probably with friends and family in tow! Special shout out to our two waiting staff last night - they were fab and made our evening perfect! 👌🏽 Gorgeous family birthday evening ❤️ Thank you.

We had an absolutely brilliant time here, staff were incredibly attentive to the point when one of our guests' fork fell on the floor, a member of staff was there with a replacement before you could say 'Excuse me, could I have a fresh fork?' We joked and had great chit-chat with the staff. And the food was excellent, and we are fussy eaters. We'll definitely be returning.

We visited in the middle of the week in November and the restaurant was busy. Clearly there were quite a number of locals / regulars in - which I took as a good thing. We were seated quickly and a drinks order provided refreshingly fast. Our food order was taken and a short while later, the really tasty starters arrived. The main course then magically appeared without there appearing to any noticeable pause. Two of us (there were four of us in total) had a calzone and when it arrived I thought “my word, I’m going to need a doggy bag” … no chance! It tasted way too good!! Thank you fellow TripAdvisors, it was your recommendations that led me here and I will be back on my next trip to Ramsgate.

Always lovely hot food cooked fresh. Pleasure to eat there. Lunch time menu is just the right amount two or three courses.

We managed to get a last-minute booking, so I thought it may not be busy but pleasantly surprised that the restaurant was full of diners. Really great food, the scallops were cooked perfectly and the chicken with mozzarella and chorizo, spaghetti, and mushroom sauce was delicious. Good value and pleasant service

This was our third time here, and it didn't disappoint! Lovely food, good value, and very friendly service. We shared a portion of meats, vegetables, and mozzarella as a starter, and then my husband had prawns, and I had the lambs liver. All generous helpings and very good.

Blink and you will past this establishment. An excellent restaurant where the staff are always attentive from the moment you walk in, to the time you leave. Very polite and engaging but not over bearing. Mid week evening visit and it was busy - that says it all! An extensive menu and also a specials board. The food was flavoursome and well presented. One of our favourite go to restaurants in Ramsgate. Just a fab all round dining experience.

We visit here about six times a year, the service is excellent, the food as as you would expect, full of garlic and chilli with plenty of parmisan, the pasta perfectly cooked and the Moretti served nice and chilled. Thank you Il Tricalore

Just finished and to be clear, this is the best meal I have ever had. I had what was essentially a mixed grill and every choice of meat was cooked to perfection. My wife had pork loin with a creamy sauce which was also perfect. The dough balls as a starter were perfect too. I would come back to Ramsgate just to go here again.

Me and my Husband have been coming to this restaurant since it originally opened in King Street. We have been countless times. Everytime the service is 5 star. The food is so good you remember every bite and the portions are generous. This is by far my favourite restaurant for its food and service. Being so close to the seafront is perfect too for a short walk after dinner. We love it here and you are all a credit to what you do. See you again soon!

At short notice we decided to visit Il Tricolore in Ramsgate again and we were so glad we did. Just as previously we were made to feel welcome and service was quick. Great atmosphere , friendly staff, good food - what more could we have wanted? My wife said that her Vegan meal was especially tasty. We will be back.

We booked our table ahead of our weekend visit to Ramsgate and I'm so glad we did! It is a reservation only restaurant. The reviews this little place has are excellent and quite rightly so... This is no ordinary Italian restaurant, it's quite simply the best Italian restaurant I have ever been to. Clearly it's a very tightly run ship, and for good reason. Everything about Il Tricolore impresses. The excellent standard of service, attentive but not unduly. The atmosphere, with a true Italian flavour, relaxed and welcoming. Most of all the extensive Menu and the astonishingly authentic Italian food which was quite simply sublime. We just couldn't fault it and had to give it 10/10... Yes the overall standards are really that high. Do yourself a favour and visit Il Tricolore... Just remember to book in advance online.

I had been before but hadn't been for a long time, so decided to go as night out with my partner. The atmosphere was amazing and the staff for welcoming as we entered, starters came and were amazing but unfortunately my main was a little bit disappointing, as this been an Italian restaurant I had pasta my pasta was overcooked slightly and could only taste a spicy sauce no other flavors came through. thank goodness the front of house of teams where amazing and made the rest of my night enjoyable, but shame I will not be back.
