A disappointment… the street food is not street food.

This is by far the best tasting Indian food in Bristol. The staff are so friendly, accommodating, humble and polite. As a matter of fact, I have had many indian meals in the UK and none tops the food quality

Came for an amazing dinner with my girlfriend. Service was great and the Allepey Prawn Curry was the best we have ever tasted. The Malabar Paratha was also delicious. Perfect dinner!

My friend and I came here last night and the food and service was outstanding. Everything was so fresh, crisp and tasty. It was all really well priced and we had a lovely bottle of wine. I’d definitely recommend to anyone wanting freshly made Indian food.

It was ok, nothing to write home about. The starters were pretty good but the curry was disappointing. This just confirmed previous experiences when eating Indian food. Rule number 1: find the worst looking hole in the wall place and you will eat great Indian food. Do not try to eat higher end Indian food, that is just not how it’s meant to be prepared. I assume it’s because if you’re trying to make a proper business work (with rent in an expensive location) you will be cutting costs to maximise profits, this results in less flavour due to diluted sauces and also smaller portions. Just trust me on this one, go to a majority ethnic neighbourhood and find a place that looks like it would have a very low hygiene rating and that doesn’t have cutlery on the tables. You will be guaranteed a good meal. As for the atmosphere, it wasn’t very comfortable. So many things to say…but the worst was probably the manager who was VERY energetic and kept making a loud snorting sound like his nose was blocked. I’ve been to enough parties to know he wasn’t just happy to see us. Then they had the same ‘Indian’ sounding tune on repeat the entire time we were there, kind of how you might imagine an Indian massage parlour to sound. As for the decor, it was all quite low budget and felt very exposed because the windows are just fully open onto a busy road. In conclusion, I feel very sorry for all the people that have left really positive reviews. But also happy for them because they have a whole world of actually good Indian food to explore (I’m not naming the good spots otherwise they’ll be ruined by gentrification, you’ll have go through the effort yourself!).

Our party of four shared several side dishes , two main dishes , two rice and a Chapatti between us which was plenty. The side dishes and sharing dishes were brought out in succession allowing us to enjoy each unrushed... particularly memorable were the Bhaji Selection and Gobi65 marinated cauliflower florets. Great friendly service, lovely food and finished off with delicious Mango ice cream. I look forward to coming again

Wonderful cuisine. We had quite a few dishes. Lamp chops to share. Super delicious and spicy! The curries were also great, as was the chapati and coconut rice. I can’t remember the sides we ordered, but those were my favorites. Service was polite. Our server helped me select a curry and even relit our candle when it blew out. The atmosphere was nice. My wife appreciated the candle decor at our table and the blue and gold color scheme. Overall, highly recommend.

Visited after a trip to the theatre. Loved the selection of food - nice to have choices quite different from the usual Indian restaurant dishes - and the street food set up gives space to try a variety of dishes. Friendly staff, clean, bright and attractive decor. My only negative was that the loud music made talking a bit of work.

Insanely good. Went with 3 friends who have travelled extensively in India and said it was just like curry in India. Nowhere outside of India has come close like this place. Won't be eating at another curry place in Bristol area for sure. Can't wait to go back!

My wife’s family are from India and we are foodies. We rate the food here very highly and the Biryani is exceptional with many layers of flavour.

A fabulous authentic taste of the street food of India. We had a delicious dosa and pakora to start. The lamb curry had a super depth of flavour and the paratha was lovely. Service was fast and friendly. Highly recommended!

They he owner, exquisite and very kind to customers. he was very kind to us in proposing exclusive and wonderful dishes. the timing of the 🍵 dishes was very correct ✅ to be able to taste 🥠🍤🥟 all the delicacies of the restaurant. it was a truly spectacular experience.

Came here on a first table with a friend and I think I’ve found my new fav Indian in Bristol! Staff were super friendly and attentive and the food was amazing. Recommend the lamb chops too!

So happy that a place like this exists in Bristol. Can't fault the food. Service was excellent. So many fantastic options on the menu, I can't wait to go back and try different ones. The chilli fish, bread pakora and the pani puri were standouts for me this time but I'm sure I'll find new favourites next time.

Very good food and service!! They serve really authentic indian food in small plates so it's kind of a different style than you would expect in other indian restaurants. The experience is definitely worth it. Really good value for money too. I understand why they have so many great reviews. They were also really nice people. Bravo y gracias!

Top quality food and really good value for money!! They really know what they're doing in the kitchen and the service was fantastic too. The menu is really easy to navigate even though you wont see the usual list of main dishes that are common in other Indian restaurants. If I lived nearer I'd be a regular customer!!

Delicious and authentic Indian street food delivered with charming service. I went for dinner with my family and everyone really enjoyed the food. Expect small dishes coming out as they are ready, relax and enjoy them as they come, with a drink. What could be better?

We were a tricky bunch (1x vegan, 1x veggo, 1x DF & GF & 1 normo 😂😂) but our every need was catered for. Everything is made fresh from scratch so all dishes can be altered. Our fave was the cauliflower but it was very hard to choose because everything was so YUMMY. Thank you, friend! X

Food tasted amazing, I only took a picture of chili fish which tasted so much better than expected. Also tried samosa Chaat and prawn curry which were all recommended to us.

Excellent curry, I had the kundapura chicken, which was very tasty......I had the poppadoms to start , which was very nice....could have been nicer, if the poppadoms portion was little larger.

Really cute little place. Nice unusual menu, some dishes on there I hadn't seen before. I had 'Junglee Mass' which was lovely. Good atmosphere. The staff were attentive and friendly. Definitely recommend!

As someone of Indian origin, it’s always nice to see restaurants that are trying to go beyond the cliches of Indian restaurant food. This place does a very good job with Indian street food classics. We particularly enjoyed the Pani poori and Dahi poori, as well as the Kale Pakora. Also very reasonably priced!

Had a great time at Talwar Express. The server was very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious. Very authentic food. Great prices too!

Main course prices for tapas/starter sized meals. Food was okay, but nothing that I’d rave about. Don’t go here if you’re hungry or be prepared to spend loads. Service was nice but food did take close to an hour to arrive at the table. Host did his best to apologise and brought some snacks while we waited. Service charge was already added to the bill, but did not pay.

Perfectly located for a pre show lunch when visiting the Hippodrome. The food was delicious, so good to see a menu full of innovative dishes. Can’t wait to return!

Delicious Indian food in a very friendly family run restaurant. Great location just next to The Hippodrome on Bristol city centre. We don't eat out much in Bristol city centre, just because most of the best places to eat are out of town, on Gloucester Road etc. So Talwar Express was a lovely surprise. Food is beautifully tasty and a bit different than your usual Indian restaurant. Really enjoyed the chilli fish and deep-fried spicy prawns we had for starters. Now we know it's there, we will go back whenever we want to eat out in the centre.

We are regulars to pizza express in Ramsgate always a warm greeting amazing and helpful staff there are a few I could say but lee stands out to us and the food is the best in town it’s mine and my partner’s favourite place to eat

We had prebooked as a table of 7. 4 adults and 3 children. Restaurant wasn’t full maybe 6 other tables seated. Orders were taken promptly, starters arrived quickly but there was a long delay before we received the mains. Were were offered free olives for the table but the children were getting a little agitated with the wait. The food was good it was just the wait which was a negative on the experience.

The restaurant is a standard Pizza Express so you know what you get. The views are good and its located next to the harbour. The staff were really helpful about the menu and the speed of delivery was excellent.

Better than usual Pizza Express. Fabulous and friendly service. Thy cleared a window table for us instead of letting us sit further back in the restaurant. Pizza was excellent, one of the best Florentina I have ever eaten. Food arrived quickly as did our drinks. Local information on places to visit was given with pride. Will definitely return.

Found ourselves in Ramsgate and not liking food outlets on offer opted to go to Pizza Express, good location,you know what you are getting and have a Taste Card. Although not at all busy it felt comfortable. The manager/waitress was exceptionally pleasant, helpful and nothing to much trouble. There just seemed to be herself and the chef both very friendly and a credit to company (A Newcastle lass Tracy I believe). Accommodated a couple of changes to choice no problem,not local so wouldnt be revisiting but can fully recommend. Would think it's a buzz venue when busy.

We had a booking for a family of 4 on a Sunday. We were met at the door by a waitress smoking outside the entrance on her break.It went downhill from there. We walked in and stood waiting to be seated. There was a customer by the till waiting to pay who looked like he'd been there some time and one waitress serving the whole restaurant. We weren't acknowledged at all by her and she did her best to avoid us. After 5 minutes, we thought we'd go grab some menus and find our own table instead of us standing there like plums for any longer. We perused the menu and kept waiting and waiting....the waitress never came to the upper seating level at all the entire time. So after 15 minutes we decided to phone Il Tricolor up the road instead to see if they had any free tables. They did so we departed and, not surprisingly, the customer by the till was STILL THERE even when we left. He's probably still there now...who knows! Never had to leave a restaurant before ordering any drinks?!?!?!

There's a happy family atmosphere to this Pizza Express, which is in a lovely location overlooking the historic harbour. Staff are friendly and food is always good

The guy who was looking after our table today was absolutely great! He didn't know it, but it was my step son's birthday yesterday, and we'd spent most of the day in a traffic jam so he hadn't had a great birthday! However the guy looking after our table today was fun and engaging, and genuinely made him feel special. A really great experience, thank you.

We called in here because it was close to where we had parked. We are frequent visitors to Pizza Express in may towns we call at. This was very good, the service was sharp and the food came quickly. It was good and well presented. It was hot and served with a smile. Very good.

It’s a lovely building in a nice location (although it’s nit easy to cross the busy roads, even on a Sunday) - I wonder if it was a bank or something. But our only reason for going there was to eat, and the food was poor. The Vegan Mezze promised hummus and harissa. I can only assume that harissa is much cheaper than hummus - it was swamped in harissa (and I like spicy food) but you could have fitted the hummus on a teaspoon. And the aubergine (at least I think it started life as a vegetable) was cooked to the texture of leather. And, all the vaguely interesting drinks were unavailable. All this on Father’s Day, when you’d think they’d be fully stocked.

We enjoyed a lovely early evening meal yesterday. The manager, the service staff and the chef were all amazing, nothing was too much trouble for them. So well done to you all, it was a pleasure to have been there.

Der Pizza Express ist zwar nicht so preiswert - 60£ für 4 Pizzen und vier Softdrinks- aber dafür ist die Pizza sehr lecker. Es gibt viele unterschiedliche Sorten und man kann auch verschiedene Pizzaböden wählen. Die Bedienung war freundlich, wir mussten kaum warten und das Restaurant liegt direkt am Yachthafen.

As a lover of pizzas, I can say Pizza Express (this one in particular) make great pizzas. Also vegan cheese is now available with any pizza which is good. Service is always perfect, even when busy.

Not being a great lover of Pizza (I've always considered it a snack rather than a meal), I was a little amused when someone gave us a Pizza Express gift card as a wedding gift. It was to the value of £50, so I expected to get a couple of visits out of it.... WRONG! We went into Ramsgate Pizza Express and first of all we thought it was a disco as the music was so loud. After 5 minutes of sitting there trying to talk above the music, we had to ask for the volume to be lowered, which was done. The waiter kept calling us 'Guys', which I hate. I'm in my late fifties and my wife is early fifties and if he said it once, he said it a hundred times. The food was average. My pizza was no different to a Tesco pizza, only three times the price. Coleslaw was good. Deserts were small unlike the price of £5.95 each), and tasteless and my wife ended up with half a cup of Mocha coffee which we complained about. The waiter (after calling us 'Guys' yet again), blamed the reduced amount on the coffee machine. Surely he should have questioned the amount in the cup on bringing it to our table? He topped it up but did so begrudgingly. When we came to pay and said we had a gift card, the waitress became very cold and snatched it from us and on her return made a point of saying loudly that there was £1.80 left on the card. If she thought she was getting that as a tip, she was wrong. The service was shoddy, the atmosphere was dull, and the whole meal was too expensive for what it was. Unless someone buys us anither gift card, we will never enter another Pizza Express again.

Excellent staff at this PE, and the new menu offered good new choices - vegan mezzo was excellent as was the Leggere padano.

The musak can be too high and the prices seem to have gone up and the menu changed on every visit. I assume that the Chinese owners want to squeeze as much profit out as possible. Atmosphere generally ok when musak not loud. Attentive service, when not too busy. Standard Pizza still great but the Salad Nicoise is expensive for what you get. No Teapots is a drawback for me.Can sometimes be noisy with children not under control, hence less visits.

What more could you want a sunny afternoon, pizza, great service and Irish coffee! Pizza cooked freshly and Irish coffee made to perfection. Ask for Leigh to make you one, she’s the expert. It’s always friendly and we enjoy when we come here every few months. Thank you

Over all food was good but was let down by the underwhelming amount of attention to detail. Glasses were dirty and water was in the garlic butter served with dough balls. When paying i pairs in clash and they had to go to a shop to get change for us. Overall very unimpressed with the experience seeing and it’s such a big company

I have to say that visiting Pizza Express in Ramsgate after not having been for a while, the food was really good. The waitress was also very knowledgeable, being able to make good suggestions to accommodate a dietary intolerance - something that can still prove difficult these days. The new Pizza Carbonara was a very good choice and I will certainly be back.

Lovely situation inside an old bank right by the harbour. One of the best of this particular chain from a food and a service perspective.

The store bought Pasta tasted reheated in a microwave and over cooked - soft on one side and hard on the other.

The last time we visited this restaurant was over 6 years ago and then it was very disappointing.

Came in for a light bite on Christmas Eve, whilst waiting for it to get dark so we could see the Harbour lights! Service was a little slow, but the food was what you'd expect from a Pizza Express & the Prosecco was lovely! The property is currently undergoing outside renovations, with scaffolding - which I imagine would make it more difficult to access if you were a wheelchair user.

Great from start to finish! We always have a pleasant outing and lunch when we come here. The waitress Leigh is always welcoming and friendly, the chef makes tasty fresh pizzas to order and there’s a great view of the harbour too.

Loved the repurposed bank building and our pizzas were tasty. Pity the one loo was not the prettiest or cleanest.
