Had 2 fabulous meals here whilst on our holiday. The food is first class every time. A special mention for the Lobster Thermidor which is the best I have ever eaten. The sauce is just amazing - you just have to try it. Fabulous service. Word of warning - if you want to try the Lobster Thermidor, ask to reserve one when you book a table, which is essential to avoid any disappointment. Thanks again. See you next year.

My wife and I both had the Lobster risotto which was lovely as well as sharing garlic butter scallops which were equally lovely. Very friendly staff and atmosphere and great value for money. Can highly recommend 😊👌

We spent a lovely evening here eating delicious scallops and meatballs to start, followed by a lobster risotto which was to die for. The chef and her husband came out to talk to everyone after service was finished so it was lovely to be able to give out compliments in person. Will definitely return the next time we are in Broadstairs

Broadstairs has plenty of restaurants and this is one of the best. Beautiful food, cooked wonderfully. Friendly waitress service, Good selection of wines. For a special meal, this is the place to come too. One tip though, make sure you book its very popular, Like we did !!

This is a little gem of a restaurant. Excellent food, simple, tasty, wholesome and very well cooked. Really excellent service, the staff were very friendly, super helpful and welcoming. Definitely will return here when next in Broadstairs.

Amazing restaurant. We had our friends from Rock Cornwall stay with us over the weekend and wanted to take them somewhere special given they have some top notch fish restaurants where they live. They both had the Skate, I had the Cod loin and my wife had the sea bass. Starters were scallops all our dishes were fabulous. Always a place where you can guarantee to get great food and service.

Regretfully the food was sitting on butter. It tasted solely of butter and garlic. Not enjoyable. The fries tasted bad as well. It would be more appealing to have table cloths to reflect the cost of the restaurant. No attention to detail.

Incredible, I love your food so much I booked both nights I was in broadstairs and I always have the Deep fried Bass Chilli & Thai Basil & Coriander, it truly blows my mind! Pan fried Chilli bake Cod Loin is also stunning. The fish talks to you in this restaurant and it’s the best place in town, wish I lived here, as twice is not enough. Thank you for having us. 💕💕

Finding a good fish restaurant is sometimes hard to achieve however we tried this one for the first time and what a find! This restaurant is in the heart of Broadstairs however you feel like this should be in London somewhere. The place has a cosy setting with window tables that can seat about 6 and there are not a lot of tables so making a booking is paramount. I had the calamari to start and it was a dish that just melted in your mouth. My wife had the Hummus with harissa and she rated it like no other. Mains came out and I have to say that my sea bass with Thai basil, coriander and chill was the best I’ve ever had and would be worthy as a dish at the Savoy. The other dish was a cod loin in a wonderful sauce that is certainly a new twist on how cod is served. The menu was not deconstructed which made a nice change and it’s the kind of place we will venture back to, as it’s one of the finest fish restaurants in Kent.

It would be very easy, and deserving, to focus on the excellent ribeyed steak I ordered yet an excellent meal must ensure all components rate highly. I must say the green beans (garlic butter) and chips were of that standard or indeed perfection. Those that ordered sea base were equally well pleased. Samworth&Mee is one of the few restaurants that is consistently excellent. Well worth the reasonable pricing. Lovely service.

We had the most delicious lunch. Top quality ingredients beautifully cooked. The staff were charming and attentive. A most enjoyable and relaxing meal.

Such fabulous food at realistic prices. You’ll pay £10 for a stater and £20 main course, but great ingredients well cooked and presented. One of the best meals in a long while. For sure the best since easing of lockdown.

Had a beautiful meal here in August, service was good, the food was absolutely delicious! Shame they ran out of the Seabass in a sour sauce as it smelt incredible so will definitely be going back to try that! Ordered sides that was lovely and large.Can’t complain about anything!

Delicious food which was simple but full of flavour and perfectly cooked. Complimented by our perfect gin pairings and a wonderful atmosphere. Had a really personal feel and loved that the chefs came out of the kitchen to serve! Boutique experience will definitely come back :)

Good food, but poor service; waitresses would benefit from a customer service course, as they avoided us until it suited them and did not attempt to make conversation. I mentioned it was my husband’s birthday on booking, but no reference was made to it during the evening. A good restaurant would give a gesture of a small dessert. Poor hygiene standards during COVID - bin overflowing in unisex toilet and the soap had run out. Also, a fork was taken from our table and given to another one! Unfortunately, we won’t be returning.

Family trip early evening. Children made welcome but only children' options were burger or chicken nuggets which felt like a shame in a fish restaurant so they shared an adult main. Fish was all cooked very well but everything was cooked in / served with loads of butter, even the already very creamy risotto. It was all just a bit much!

Dover soul. Great little restaurant right opposite The Albion with well spaced tables. We were greeted by one of the two waiting staff and could see into the kitchen. The chef owners obviously love cooking, food and fish. We had their taramasalata to start with sourdough. Both were sublime and obviously made with whole smoked roe - nothing like the supermarket version and a must try if they have it when you go. We both had Dovers fried in butter as our mains. Simon? The chef playfully held them up for us to admire when they’d been floured - they were of a good size. A few minutes later they landed and were spot on with creamy mash and garlic haricot vert - music to my ears when another diner complained their portion was too big. Other dishes looked excellent as plates of various fishes with crisped skin wafted past us. A great fish restaurant, I wish there was something like it in Crouch End (yes I know we have establishments that specialise in fish but prefer DIY from Purkis) however S&M are in another league.

The food was excellent, with the restaurant having a true family run restaurant atmosphere cumulating in a brilliant night. Would definitely recommend to others!

We were very excited about eating here, given the great reviews. The food was very good, but unfortunately the service was pretty poor and we left feeling unwelcome and a bit confused. We were a party of five, on a night when they weren't jam-packed, but we were sat waiting on service for a long time. No-one asked whether the food was ok, or whether we wanted more drinks or desserts. The baffling bit is - when the waitress halfheartedly cleared the table, leaving a pile of dirty cutlery on my son's place setting, I politely asked the man I think is the manager if he'd mind clearing it away before the dessert came. He picked up one dirty fork out of the pile, stared at it and took it to the kitchen leaving the remainder, which was never cleared. I'm baffled as to the point of this and it just left a sour taste in my mouth on what should have been a lovely evening. Not worth the effort.

Epic! We collected food to take home during the Covid crisis. We wanted to go ‘all out’ and treat ourselves and it didn’t disappoint. We had a skate wing and lobster 🦞 Thermidor . Massive portions, outstanding food, every mouthful was a delight. Bravo

We had a take away paella for four last night plus two starters (anchovies with avocado and orange salad and deep fried calamari) for our son’s 18th birthday. The quantity of food was just right and the quality of cooking and presentation was excellent. The meal was very good value. We have not been to the restaurant but we will definitely go as soon as it reopens!

Beautiful take away meal from one of our favourite restaurants tonight samworth and Mee ! Sea bass , lemon mash ( boy I have missed that ) and asparagus ! Magnifique !!If you are sick of eating at home , do yourself a favour and order anything from the menu. Kept it lovely and hot and delivered in excellent cardboard containers and side orders of brocolinni were all hot and cooked as good as eating in the restaurant. Excellent , missed it !

To be honest, I'm always looking for an excuse to come here - this time it was for breakfast as my sister had never been before. She absolutely loved her smashed avocado on sourdough - remarked on the quality ingredients and generous portion.

This is my first review on tripadvisor, but the quality of the meal we had at Samworth & Mee prompted me to share our experience.The great reviews are fully justified, from the tasty starters (anchovy salad and ravioli) to the perfectly cooked fish mains (my sea bass was as good as I have had and the hake with chilli and garlic was stunning) and great desserts, everything reasonably priced, made for a great evening.Loved the small restaurant feel, very personal. If you are in the area, eat here, you won’t regret it.

We decided to visit Samworth & Mee because of all the good reviews we had read on TripAdvisor and were not disappointed. We wanted a Sunday roast dinner and as I am now in a wheelchair I could not get to our usual place at The Tartar Frigate because of all the stairs. We had tried the Albion pub but unfortunately it is closed for five weeks for redecoration.

We had a lovely meal here on Sunday night. Can recommend the scallops, calamari and Hake in chilli and garlic. Nice intimate surroundings but well sound proofed so a pleasant atmosphere. Service was good too. Only strange thing was it being cash only which we were only told on receipt of the bill, but I am sure that was just an oversight.

Wonderful fresh fish cooked to perfection and even better we could take our dog too. Best dish was the deep fried bream with holy basil & coriander, I could have eaten it twice. Can’t wait to return.

My husband and I go to Broadstaire once or twice a year and we always make an effort to eat at Samworth and Me. We ate there last weekend and as always the food was up to it's usual excellent standard. I had the baked Hake with Garlic and Chilli it was cooked ot perfection and my husband had the monkfish Korma also excellent. This is a lovely little restaurant that serves extremely good food. I can;t wiat for my next visit.

Service top notch which so important when dining with family. Food and wine excellent (particularly sea bass and lobster). Atmosphere and decor superb. I would highly recommend this.

Well this was a real treat. Spent a few days in Broadstairs with family and managed to get a reservation by chance. The food did not disappoint. Some of the freshest fish I have eaten and cooked just perfectly.

You can never go wrong with Samworth & Mee, one of my favourite restaurants and not just in Thanet. I've lost count of how often i've had the pleasure of dining here over the last 4 years.

Get a booking if you can - you won't regret it - had the freshest, most fabulous fish and seafood dinner ever - it was to die for! Starters for both of us were the scallops and samphire - cooked to perfection neither over or underdone - like Goldilocks says 'just right'. Mains were a super scrummy lobster with garlic and an enormous, whiter than white lemon sole. The owners certainly know their fish and are very friendly and helpful without being in your face. I would definitely become a pescatarian if Samworth & Mee were local to me! Nice atmosphere and packed to the rafters when we went - you certainly need to book well in advance, especially at weekends. Highly recommended.

I had a romantic birthday meal here with my boyfriend and it was just perfect. It’s nice and small but not awkward, the staff were friendly and attentive, and the fish was just stunning! Highly recommended, will definitely be returning.

This is a fantastic little place, and by far the best in Broadstairs. The food was absolutely excellent, of great quality, fresh, and very tasty. As was the service!

We decided late yesterday afternoon to eat out so we had a drive into Broadstairs where we came across Samworth & Mee the sign board outside gave us a great indication of what we could expect, we hadn't booked a table so we made an enquiry if they could fit us in we were shown to a lovely table by a waitress, who promptly gave us the menus and asked if if we wanted drinks, the owner Steve came over and talked through the menu, we ordered starters and mains which were both glorious, the atmosphere food and service was brilliant. also the cost very reasonable for what you can only describe as top class food.

This place was busy when I arrived. The kitchen is very small and I was warned that there would be a wait. I had time to spare so I sat down - and indeed, I waited. But it was absolutely worthwhile for excellent scrambled eggs on sourdough with smoked salmon and mushrooms and for excellent coffee. Simple food, very well done.

I have been dying to eat in this restaurant and certainly wasn’t disappointed. The bream was delicious with a crisp skin and Thai flavoured sauce. The mash potato was a let down as I was hoping for light fluffy potato, but it was heavy and too salty. The fish exceeded it though. My husbands steak was cooked medium-rare as requested and he said tasted good.

Lovely fresh fish and veg. Great atmosphere and service. Only negative was the mashed potato rated as if it was powdered mash not real. However, everything else was so good and fresh it didn’t spoil the meal. Be aware it’s a cash only restaurant ( we didn’t realise until we tried to pay the bill).

We walked past Samworth & Kee and it was open after the advertised closing time, we walked in and they said they were serving lunches up until 5pm. We had two courses, both very good, excellent service. Only one thing though, cash only in a town with just the one cash machine.

Heute haben wir ein wunderbares Abendessen bei Samworth&Mee; genossen: Kammuscheln und Seezunge, alles frisch und liebevoll zubereitet. Von meinem Platz aus hatte ich einen Blick auf die offene Küche und konnte zuschauen, wie entspannt das Team unter Leitung des Chefs zusammengearbeitet hat. Abgerundet durch einen feinen Pinot Grigio und Gregory Porter im Hintergrund war das ein perfektes Diner! Thanks a lot!
