This place is a lovely atmosphere however one of our servers was quite rude. I didn’t catch her name however she was blonde and a slim figure. Her skirt was so short and her attitude was rude. I expected more from this restaurant. Food was great.

We visited The Pavillion on the Sands in Broadstairs during our holiday in Kent. We were able to get a table overlooking the Viking Beach. We placed our order for the special deal comprising tea or coffee and a slice of cake. The coffee and cake were served by friendly and helpful staff in good time, which we enjoyed very much.

Yet again one of the best views and locations spoiled by poor food with high prices. With service you would expect to be fair from cheap student labour with no experience, rapport or knowledge, eg clearing one persons plate whilst others are eating. My daughters fish must have been related to the sardine family, it was that small and tasted far "too fishy". Ceaser salad dressing came out of a tube, I know because a friend works in the same group as a chef. The burger was rock hard, and the reason why is because they cannot be cooked medium or rare because the ingredients need to be cooked within an ounce of their lives. Chips cold too, again these are batched cooked and left on the hot plate awaiting departure. Finally there were dozens of waiting staff just looking for the odd glass or plate, with little else to do. Try employing a few less and that may help to keep prices down and quality up.

After hearing such good reviews about this place we thought we’d try it out. We ordered 5 small plates and one main between 4 us. I can’t fault the portion sizes, it’s just a shame about the food quality and the service- 3/5 small plates came and then 20 minutes later we had not received the other two small plates plus the main - when they finally came (after chasing two separate members of staff) the chicken on the main was cold, the garlic bread was burnt and the hummus looked like it was sat open in the fridges for ages couple of days. It was busy and I understand staff were busy but a decent service would have been nice, the staff looked depressed and no smiles what’s so ever, one lady behind the bar stood giving my friend and I such dirty looks while we stood waiting to order. We did get a refund on the main (£15) but for a lunch that cost over £100 I was expecting something amazing. Definitely will not be returning.

Just wanted to say what a fabulous New Years Eve we had here. On arrival I mentioned to staff member Sian that I had been unwell and was unable to eat from the set menu. Immediately Sian went to the kitchen and came back within minutes to say chef had an alternative for me. The meal I had was excellent. Sian was exceptionally helpful throughout the evening. All the waiting staff were so friendly and efficient. The rest of my family said their meal was delicious too! Live entertainment was provided by Jack Randle who was brilliant! What a fab way to start the New Year. Thank you

This is a mixed review because I really liked the food and the staff that served me were great. Initially I thought the prices were a bit steep, I really thought I got what I paid for. My daughters and the rest of my group all really thought the food was lovely. My issue with my visit was dogs. Specifically, dogs sat at the tables with no challenge from staff. Now, dogs aren’t my cup of tea at the best of times, but I really draw the line at having dogs sat at tables. This is not hygienic and should be challenged by the staff or the premises owners. At one point I even saw one of the staff stroking a dog at one of the tables and then go straight back to serving people behind the bar without washing her hands or using hand sanitiser. Luckily for me that member of staff didn’t serve me or I would have had to say something. I really think premises that allow dogs should insist that dogs are kept on the floor and kept silent. I don’t want my meal and conversation disturbed by yapping dogs every few minutes, if I wanted that I’d go to a dog show. In summary: Food? Great! Prices? Ok Hygiene? Could do better Dogs at tables? No thanks

I am usually happy with the Pavillion. I love the location and usually the food is good. On this occasion I ordered a wrap which was meant to come with salad. There was literally about 5 very small leafs on the plate when I said about there was hardly any salad they said that was it. No cucumber or tomato was very disappointed as I love salad.

We visited the Pavilion on a Saturday lunchtime during a busy Folk festival weekend. We were served at the bar promptly and our ploughman’s lunch was brought to our table very quickly. The young man serving, thoughtfully offered to bring us extra cutlery as we were sharing. The Ploughman’s lunch was very nice but unfortunately it was served on a scratched wooden chopping board. Our other disappointment was that we found no soap in either the mens or the ladies toilets.

Having recently moved to Broadstairs and newly engaged the hunt for a wedding venue started. Having family coming from across the UK and abroad we wanted somewhere that would show off the beautiful Kent coast…so we booked the Pavilion with its unbeatable sea views. We had our ceremony elsewhere in Broadstairs then walked down to the Pavilion with our guests behind us. Our day was PERFECT! Upon viewing the venue during our search we were introduced to Sian, the events planner. This girl is a SUPERSTAR. Nothing was too much, she’s organised, chilled out and prepared for anything thrown at her. Alongside Sian we planned our slightly untraditional wedding reception and it was everything we dreamed of. The food was incredible, we didn’t want a buffet or a sit down meal so it was varied small dishes that we chose served by platter by wait staff and while the guests kept eating…the chefs kept cooking. We arrived to a gorgeous drink reception on arrival on the terrace and then the party got started. The lead up to and the day couldn’t have gone more smoothly. We weren’t planning to have a cake and She suggested why don’t we get a Colin Caterpillar…we did, it went down a treat and was so suited to the fun party we envisioned. Sian advised us before hand that if our guests needed anything to direct them to her and she will deal with anything they need so that we didn’t need to worry. Sian and her team also dressed the room with the decor we hired and she should be in events interior design - it was stunning. We partied all night on the terrace and in reception room and the entire team was incredible! So many of our guests said it was the best wedding they had ever been to. Thank you to everyone involved in our day. We’ve been back lots since and will be back on our 1 year anniversary which is creeping up very fast! Truly the best day of our lives - we can’t thank you more

The quality of food at the Pav really seems to have declined. For lunch yesterday 2 of us had the sticky pork with bao buns and rice. The bao buns were just 3 lumps of dough and the rice was dry and tasteless. One of our party had the prawn risotto and then had sickness and diarrhea all evening. To be fair the chicken and leek pie was OK, but generally the food was not up to standard. A shame as the venue is good and the bar staff are helpful and friendly.

We visited here on a Saturday in August just for drinks in the sun overlooking the sea. I was so impressed with how they are dealing with the current situation. There was a young man wiping the handrails down when we arrived and hand sanitizer at the door. A lady took our name and phone number and gave us a specific table to sit out. Drinks were ordered at the bar and then brought to our table. We were asked to take our drinks off the tray to prevent them handling them. Tables were being regularly cleaned after each customer. We returned the following Wednesday for lunch, we weren't hopeful as they were taking part in the 50% off so thought we wouldn't get a table. But they weren't taking bookings just walk-ins which I think was great as there is no risk of no shows. We were seated straightway and the same level of cleanliness was seen as our previous visit. Paper menus were handed out. To make the visit even better the fish and chips and jerk chicken burger were delicious! This is definitely a place we will continue to visit time and again as we have family down here.

My wife and 2 young girls and myself spent 3 days in Broadstairs last week. We hadn't visited the area before. The first day we tried several establishments for lunch but were turned away repeatedly, then we stumbled across the Pavilion. Immediately we were able to get a table even though it was very busy because of the efficient way the staff were operating. We were delighted with our meals and felt very safe in the current Covid 19 situation. As a result we returned each day for a meal each time equally impressed by the experience. On our last day we popped in for evening drinks and on checking in one of our girls inadvertently squirted the hand sanitizer in her sister's eye. She was very distressed and screaming. The 2 young men at the door Craig and Nick were very helpful in assisting and checking she was ok.After cleaning her eye we sat down but our daughter was still very upset about the incident. Then Nick came out to our table with a chocolate brownie which he told my daughter was "magic" and if she ate it all would stop her eye hurting. Low and behold it did the trick! All we can say is what an amazing thing to do, we were able to enjoy the evening as our girl was now extremely happy and on the drive home all she was talking about is that young man who made her eye better. Please praise all your staff for doing an exemplary job and thank Nick for showing such kindness and making us feel extremely special. We only stopped for coffee on the terrace. Great service, felt very Covid aware. Good system, checking people in, cleaning evident. Food looked good, would recommend.

It's just a nice bar, especially outdoor tables overlooking the beach. Decent beer, Gadds. Got a portobello burger, with delicious proper chips and onion rings. The service was tip top, helpful and friendly. Got covid completely sorted. We'll be back for sure.PS As it started raining we had to go in to the main hall, they've done a nice job in there!

Staff were lovely and all so happy to help, track and trace performed on entrance, around the clock cleaning seemed to be performed with care, food was delicious and the drinks were lovely too! The view was emaculate and I would definitely recommend a visit especially in the summer!

Dirty glass poured into another glass after complaint despite COVID 19 and the fact that the dirty glass had lipstick marks so therefore could not have been cleaned to a safe standard - staff thought it funny - really!!!!

Apart from its brilliant position by the beach, good food and coffee, it is extremely safe in these difficult times. Staff sanitise tables and chairs continuously, and also wipe down hand rails on the two sets of stairs. The large outside space allows for really comfortable social distancing, and you are greeted on arrival and shown to your table. Everything is extremely well organised, so you are able to enjoy your visit feeling safe and comfortable.

Really relaxed place to eat out, despite Covid-19 regulations. Tasty food with friendly and efficient service. A fantastic location by the beach too.

Very polite and friendly staff, followed social distancing yet made me and my friend feel very welcome. Menu, despite being reduced, was full of choice. Portions good too. We visited at peak time of day so there was a demand for seating but management again, very efficiently and calmly handled this.

Lovely place right on the beach. Perfect place for a quick lunch. All of the staff were efficient and friendly. Service was super speedy. We ordered baguettes for lunch which were delicious. We could see a number of staff cleaning which helped us feel safe. Tables were spaced out. Hand sanitizer has to be used as you enter.

Turned up for a nice outdoor lunch. Went to the bar for a drink and to order food, was all going well. Once my drink(stella) arrived it had a funny smell. The taste can only be described as washing up liquid mixed with dish water that has been carbonated. Food later arrived that had cost an arm and a leg for what it was. Chips were very undercooked and the burger nothing special for the price. All in all a wasted trip the only plus side was it was sunny, Whitch was the only thing the pub had no control over.

First visit to a pub since lockdown and have to say it was an absolute pleasure. Very well laid out according to social distancing rules and all staff were obviously fully trained in the new procedures. We were made to feel welcome and safe and have no hesitation in returning.

We had a family lunch that was tasty and fresh, the prices were slightly on the high side but well worth it. There’s a lovely view of the beach, it’s very clean and the staff are helpful and polite. I’d definitely eat there again.

Lovely garden and beautiful views of the sea… that’s about it.Service is chaotic, food was eatable, but cold and at London prices. The restaurant itself is cold and feels like a work canteen. This place has so much potential, but the love is missing. We won’t be back (unless it’s for a drink in the garden in the summer)

didn't have a meal at the dolphin went for the karaoke eve last thursday, well what can i say after the negative reviews this pub gets. we are a couple 79 plus who love a bit of karaoke, the bar staff, the young lady running this and all the young people in there made us very feel welcome, they were polite and friendly and personally i didn't hear any bad language. we had a very enjoyable evening so well done kids some great voices too, thanks

Sunday dinner with the family . Warm welcome, very busy but they coped well . Sunday roasts were lovely , plenty of meat , roasties in a bowl . We ordered pigs in their blankets as an extra well worth it . Prices were very reasonable , will return.

Great atmosphere, good food, nice position. Staff friendly but inappropriate lack of attention to basic details. We waited ages to be seated despite booking. We told them when we booked 2 guests could not have shellfish and reminded them when we ordered yet they included scallops on the plate. Totally unapologetic despite the risks of anaphylactic reactions. Not once were we asked about allergies. Excessively burnt sourdough was described as intentionally carbonised, the yapping dog under the table next to us was intrusive and could no way be described as an assistance dog and the service was very slow.
