Massively over priced fish and chips. The large chips was the size of a small bag at our local chippie. Chips and curry sauce was £8.00. Chips and saveloy wzs £10.00. R

Had a couple of portions of large cod and chips. Portions were very generous and the batter was lovely and crisp. Chips were well made, most being nice large chips with very few scrag ends. Highly recommended

Just ordered 2 medium and 1 large chips. Cost just under £17. Nothing wrong with the quality (hence 2 stars) but was surprised how small both the fish and portion of chips were. I know times are hard but this was ridiculous when there are at least 3 other fish & chip takeaways in town competing for my custom. Won’t use again.

Ordered a chicken and mushroom pie and chips. The pie was ice cold in the middle. Took it back to complain. They prepared another which was taken straight from the freezer and put in the microwave. That also came out stone cold. We were then given a refund. Wouldn’t rush back any time soon.

Fancied fish and chips on a Saturday lunchtime in Broadstairs. Popped in to this place and hopes were not high as the frontage looks a bit run down. However, don't let this put you off. Two Haddock and chips with drinks and mushy peas. £20. Good service and lovely cooked fish. Looks like it could do with a makeover but food was excellent. Will be back soon.

Visiting Broadstairs for the day and fancied the nation's seaside favourite - fish and chips. This fish and chip shop is both takeaway and restaurant. We decided to eat in the restaurant which has just been refurbished and is really nice., clean, comfortable. The staff are so polite and friendly and most important of all, the fish and chips were excellent. I would definately recommend 'Best Fish and Chips' to visitors to this charming seaside town.

Rip off of the century! Ordered 2 fish cakes and small chips and was charged £7.50!! Fish cakes are normally £1 each and the side orders they have are expensive for example beans £1.30 and gravy £1.30 - how much does a tin of beans and gravy cost?? Had to wait around 10 minutes for only to find that we had a thin sprinkling of chips that barely covered the bottom of the box. We live near Broadstairs but certainly won’t be returning here! It’s not hard to get fish and chips right but clearly some places get it all wrong!

Whilst staying in Broadstairs we wanted to try the local chips and came across the best fish and chip shop. Being lunchtime and having a 3 course dinner to look forward too we plummeted for chips and gravy. The gravy was a bit so, so, needed a dash of Worcester sauce or something else to take it to the next level . But the chips as they say on the sign above the shop are THE BEST , great chips, crispy with soft middles. We haven’t actually had chips from a chip shop for a few years as I always found they were greasy and would lay on me . These chips were non greasy and at £2.20 you got a lot of chips for your money

Went during Lockdown last week and had excellent service. Waited outside while they cooked our rock, haddock and chips and ate it on a bench overlooking Viking Bay. It was just brilliant. My rock was cooked to perfection, my wife had a piece of haddock she drooled over. With one small chips it coast about 13 quid. Bargain.

Had travelled to Broadstairs for a food festival, called into this restaurant. We ordered a medium size Cod & chips and medium Haddock and chips and two teas. Seated near to front of the restaurant. Modern decor. Food was tasty but not brilliant, fair sized fish and chips. Condiments felt sticky and could do with a wipe down. Toilets ok but could be cleaner. Enjoyed the food but could be better. Have eaten in other fish & chips places in Broadstairs is this the best fish & chips not sure. Price £18 odd.

Cook to order , very fresh, very nice, didn’t take long. Good size portions still hot when got back to apartment.

Don't like to be negative but we enjoyed the chips better at the chip shop at the bottom of Alexander Street - this chippy is very handy if you.ve just come of the beach

We arrived late afternoon, but my saveloy didn’t taste like my ones back at Hastings & the chips had a burnt taste,l would imagine the oil being used was at the end of its use.

Nothing special, basic fish and chips expected more as it’s a seaside town. Then we almost go charged twice as we was dinning during staff change over. We were the only ones eating, how hard is it to handover oh they have paid already.

There are several fish and chip shops in the high street and i would rate this the best. The fish is cooked while you wait and it certainly is worth it. large white cod and batter crisp .The staff are friendly and speedy.I have enjoyed both takeaway and eat in where the staff give us over 60 a free cup of tea.Never had a bad meal here

Very nice fish and chips, tasty and fresh fish and the chips are good too. They do kids meals as well which is good when you have little ones. Good customer service too and reasonably priced. Will definitely go back next time I go to Broadstairs.

The fish here was beautiful, perfect crispy batter and a very large piece even though we ordered medium portions. I wasn’t as fussed about the chips - a bit too chunky for my taste.

Weird shaped horribly cooked greasy chips and a rank battered sausage with watery nuggets which where apparently made from chicken. Truly horrendous. And have vomited three times. Should be called worst fish and chips as your shop name is very misleading

Badly cut chips of strange shape and size, oil not that good, and battered sausage was in a minuscule coating of batter and simply not crunchy or crispy. It's also a magnet for hoards of visiting children from Germany who weren't really that accommodating with their chairs and showed no shame as they annexed the whole area, oblivious to the wishes of other patrons. Deja vu......

Variety of fish to choose from, fresh, great tasting, perfectly cooked meals right in front of you as you order. Very friendly staff. The place is very popular with local seniors ... what could be better than this a recommendation. You have to have your fish and chips here when you visit Broadstairs.

The name says it all and it fits. We had perfectly cooked fish and chips today for dinner. The fish was cooked to order with nice thin crispy batter. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is due to tacky cutlery and mushy peas served in a foam container.

Excellent selection of fish available from the standard Cod, to Haddock and Plaice as well. Well cooked, good portions, and very tasty. There is no messing about with these guys. Perfect for a sea-side sit when the sun is shining.

Visited The best fish and chip shop in Broadstairs on 21st July 2018 - needed to feed a last minute family gathering quickly But my heart sank at having to break my healthy eating plan so it was to my amazement and delight that I could order baked cod/plaice or haddock and a salad for £6. It was delicious - fish was freshly cooked and the owner was rightly proud to announce that they had just gained 5 stars from the council ! Added to this was their prominently placed allergy chart to let anyone with allergies know exactly what was in all their products - I know everyone should do this but many don't ! Lovely people, fabulous food - they also threw in a bottle of vinegar , ketchup and coke as it was a large order ! I will definitely be back !

Increíble, degustación de patatas fritas crujientes - Super limpio algunos casi como cuece y claramente cocinados en aceite fresco asombrosamente. Lo mismo para la battter - Hermosa, casi como la tempura. Y el pescado - el pescado más fresco, más sabrosos jamás, flakiest. Tamaño de la porción (tamaño) es enorme. Té también era genial.

Walked in early at Halloween and looked at the menu board, seeking an authentic fish and chips and not those French fries etc that you can get, I then walked out after l thought that's all I would get and walked into another chippy close by, they were too busy on the phone to talk to me so I walked back out and back into Best, thankfully! I ordered sausage and chips carry out, plenty of salt and vinegar, great portion size and they were exactly the sort I was looking for, found a bench overlooking the sea and really enjoyed my lunch, I look forward to going back!

Excellent freshly cooked food to take away, we had a little wait as mostly the food is cooked to order, but all the better for it.

Visited with my parents and were directed to a table and instructed to read the menu on the table as the price is higher than a takeaway.We were the only ones in the restaurant at the time- most likely one of the first of the day.We sat down at a table which had not been cleaned properly. After around 10 minutes a waitress asked what we would like from the menu and took our order. She then scattered off to the cooking area - We were not asked if we would like any drinks!I then approached the counter and asked how do we get drinks?- do we help ourselves to the drinks in the fridge!?- which she said yes.After approx 20 minutes our food arrived. The saveloy was cold! The chips were not cooked (very soft) and we were not offered any napkins or sauces. My wife's scampi was also undercooked!!!!!We did not enjoy the food at all and the service was awful! We were asked how the food was which I advised we we're disappointed but we were still charged the full amount despite leaving most of the food.I would not consider giving this place a second chance- so I hope you see this review as not giving it a first chance! There are plenty of other local fish and chip shops which are to a better standard and you are actually looked after.A total waste of £21 for a meal for 4!Avoid this place- even if other places are busy!

We went down to Broadstairs for Easter and on the Good Friday our children and grandchildren (6 people in all) came down for the day.Late afternoon we were all getting hungry and fancied fish and chips so went in and sat down at the tables (there were 5 adults and 3 children). A man came over and said they had finished serving sit down meals and were only doing takeaway - this was on a Friday when Broadstairs was full of people a lot of which I am sure would appreciate sitting down to some nice fish and chips.We then all got up and ordered takeaways and took them back to our flat to eat but it was not the same as eating in.The fish was okay, although the batter could have been a bit more crispy and the children eat all their meals

I starting using this fish and chip shop as was dissapointed with another local one I was using. Whenever I come here they always make fresh chips and the staff are always smiling which is great!!

I've been using this 'Chippie' since retiring to Broadstairs 18 months ago. It has always produced fantastic fish, be it cod, haddock, skate, rock, roe. The chips until recently were fantastic , last two visits in the depth of winter a bit below par, but that maybe seasonal. They always bar one visit in that time cook from fresh and that's the fish and the chips. I order and disappear to the 39 Steps for a swift beer and then return to collect. I invariably have been offered complimentary tea or coffee if I wait in the restaurant itself. They've recently introduced a chicken 'bar' with whole, half or quarters. I've tried it and also been given on some occasions a free sample in my order. I still prefer fish, but it's fine. The staff, or the regular staff including the Boss are tremendous, cheerful, friendly, helpful....faultless, love 'em to bits. They do a home delivery service too which I will no doubt use at some point. I've tried the other fish and chip places and I don't think they're as good, they're not bad, but just not as good. I will continue to frequent the place, hope they get their chips back on song!

Turns up late, Food is in pre-purchased packaging... What am I paying for? A trip to poundland or a takeaway? Chicken burger was AWFUL. No sauce, Skimpy on the salad which was going off anyway. The chicken wasn't even a chicken fillet or anything, it was disgusting... I've paid £11 for disgusting food.

I enjoyed the food but was a bit mystified as to what the coating was on the onion rings. Plus they sent Coke instead of Pepsi. I would still eat another take away. It's good for burgers always.

A bit underwhelming - oily and very crunchy batter (crunchy enough to hold the whole fish together), one fish (haddock) was a bit dry, but the other fish was very nice, as were the chips. Great to have everything cooked to order! In all, it was OK, but we'd try somewhere else next time.

Used this fish and chips as it was less than a mile away. Unfortunately it was a disappointment. We waited just over an hour for delivery and my buger was almost cold and tasted awful. The battered mushrooms were full of grease and we were missing one of our two portions of chips. My parents said they thought the fish was Ok but to be honest there are so many fish and chip shops to choose from that we will probably try elsewhere next time.

Popped in during folk week madness for some chips before the evening procession. The place was packed but they served everyone quickly. Food was hot and well cooked. Service was very good and staff friendly. We decided to sit inside at the tables and staff thought our order took too long so gave us free curry sauce, battered sausage and mushy peas.

The staff are ver friendly and the fish and chips very good. The portion size is generous. Haven't sampled anything else yet but will definitely go again.
