Cod and chips ,absolutely delicious!

Lovely trip to the seafront with my kids, the chips were perfectly cooked and served promptly, thank you.

Totally disappointed in my order .. soggy batter on fish . And also battered sausage .. curry sauce was not nice ...

Food was lovely and cheap but the portions were a little small. Staff were lovely and food was served very quickly.

On a road trip down the Kent coast with a friend we dropped into peters for lunch. I’ve been before to both Ramsgate and Margate branches so I know it’s good. We had haddock, chips , peas. Really delicious! Haddock is always more expensive but the size of the fillets were huge. What made it better was the lovely staff. They’re so friendly and welcoming especially the lady that served us. I love that you can put on your own salt and vinegar as I like lots ! Peter’s is a legend in Thanet ! May it remain so !

This place was wonderful I'm from the USA was in Ramsgate for the day. I stopped in with a friend. We were greeted by a nice man who helped us with our order of Cod and Chips. A very nice woman brought the food to our table. It was soooooo good. I would definitely come back here again. The locals must love it too because they were streaming in constantly and everyone was treated kindly. We were sad when the meal was done. They don't make food like this in America. We'll, it's the perfect excuse to come back to Ramsgate. Thank you Peters Fish Factory for an unforgettable lunch!!!! Carmen

The food was ok. The large cod wasn't good value. Not the greatest piece of fish but slightly better than average. Eat in and the food served in takeaway boxes. I know fish and chips are now becoming a luxury, price wise. But this was on the higher end and not great value. The sauces were poor particularly the curry. A cafe environment charging restaurant prices. It's better than average quality wise but not up to the prices charged.

Excellent plaice and chips served by a lovely lady. Presented in a box which was easy to negotiate-no washing of dishes which must help the staff!

Still amazing after all these years. We were a party of 11 and made to feel very welcome. Food hot and tasty.

Undoubtedly a very busy place at the weekends. The fish was, as expected, quite good—crispy and flavourful. However, the chips left much to be desired. They were too sticky for my liking, which took away from the overall meal. One thing that really surprised me was the pricing. While I understand that good fish comes at a cost, I didn’t appreciate paying extra for condiments. Seriously, £1 for ketchup/ mayonnaise? That felt a bit excessive. The service was excellent. The staff was friendly and attentive. They really know how to keep customers happy, and I appreciated that. Overall, while the fish is definitely worth a try, I hope they'll reconsider their chip preparation and condiment pricing. It’s a decent spot, but I think I’ll be looking for other options next time I'm in Ramsgate. Cheers.

Typical fish and chips. No issues with it, food was tasty. But having to pay 50p for a sachets of sauces was a bit off for me as we were eating inside

Best fish and chips we've experienced. Not greasy or slimy, nice crisp batter. Good presentation. Served promptly and good size portions. Prices on parr with other Kent/Sussex seaside locations visited. No extra charge for sausage to be battered.

Went here for some fish and chips after the beach. Cod was great although chips were a little soft for my liking. It was busy but it was being run by a very efficient woman who was very helpful and accommodating even while multi tasking.

Decent chips, if not a little expensive considering it’s Ramsgate. They don’t have vinegar and salt by the counter so you need to go back and get some from the tables if you want to make your own flavour. Staff are fairly decent and there is quite a bit of a wait even when it doesn’t seem busy.

Very good fish and chips. Mushy peas also good. Can sit in. Open later on Fridays and Saturdays than most other chippies which is handy.

This used to be a lovely chippy . We loved to sit inside and treat ourselves to a nice meal of fish and chips and a tea. For whatever reason, they've done away with proper plates and cutlery and serve the meal in a cardboard box - I could live with that, but the fish was chewy and not pleasant to eat. The chips were passable but didn't seem freshly cooked (even though they may have been). We won't be returning. There are plenty of other chippy in the world

Worst fish I have ever had ; dry, overcooked , and had clearly been there for ages . Inedible. Wish I’d taken notice of other reviews and walked back into town . Don’ t recommend at all.

I honestly cannot see how anyone could give anything less than 5 stars for this place, truthfully as this HAS to be the best quality and best value Fish & Chips by far in the South-East for sure. None of this old oil, thick stodgy batter or soggy chips that turn to mush like you seem to be getting at most fish & chip places. The offers they have on such as £5.55 for Haddock & Chips, Hoki & Chips etc. are medium sized portions but the fish is AMAZING. You can tell the attention to detail and quality is their priority as there are massive flakes in the fish, chips are cooked perfectly so that they're not either soft or mushy as they keep their consistency. Curry sauce is modified in their own way, which makes it different to your usual chip shop curry sauce like you'd get from a Chinese takeaway. I'd rather drive down and get this than put up with the below par quality you get in London and South-East, as some do start off well then when they get a high enough customer count then the foot comes off the gas and quality starts to decline which isn't good. With this place, consistently perfect and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

the service was fairly fast. the large cod was OK. bit too much batter for my liking but my wife lived it.

Been coming to this place for a number of years. Turned up at 21,30 last night looking for some fish and chips or just chips as it shuts at 22.00 , only to be told by some very Rude staff that we are now closed , i suggest you advertise you do not shut at 22.00 but when it suits, I will now be taking my hard earned elsewhere .

Amazing food, amazing portion sizes, kind staff and nice place

I use to visit here often after a day at the beach growing up and was always amazing. However went there a few months back and was awful food & service. Today we brought a large chips to share and was presented with a tiny box with a handful of chips that would have been enough for my 3 year old son to eat alone. We questioned the size to be told it was right , just under £5 for a kids portion!! Not to mention they tasted awful, too soggy and oily definitely wasn’t cooked properly. We’ve brought a small portion from a different shop before and was 3x bigger than these! Staff aren’t as nice as they use to be. Won’t be returning!

Good crispy batter and tasty fish!! We’d walked from Margate so I was ready for this!

Used this place for years religiously as it is the best but I won't be returning anymore spent 25 quid on food for me and my children sat outside and got absolutely ransacked by seagulls about 10 of them flew onto the table and started demolishing all the food which then had to be chucked away and Petes fish factory didn't even offer a free portion of chips to my kids considering its 4 pound a portion absolutely shocking customer service

We’ve been here a few times and had no issues but lately we’ve noticed that the fish and chips are too greasy. It’s a shame because the staff and venue itself are great, but if they could cutdown on the grease it’ll be 5 stars.

A great fish and chip shop in Ramsgate and clearly very popular (expect a wait on tourist days and weekends). Only criticism would be that the chips could be less soggy.

What a disappointment ... We ate in and got our fish & chips in a cardboard box and wooden cutlery. The batter was soggy and stuck to the paper. The fries were limp and we had to pay 50 pence for a small sachet of sauce. What next, charge for vinegar and salt?

Myself and two friends have visited here a couple of times now. Both times food really tasty 😋 2nd time not a mountain of chips which was perfect. 1st time way to many chips 🍟

Ordered 4 fish and chips. paid extra for ketchup and mayonnaise, overall fish was fine but chips were not good at all. Would come back.

Vile! My wife bought 2 sausages in batter and a portion of chips for us to eat while sitting ar the marina. The sausage batter was more like congeled slime, when scraped off the sausage was white due to the high(80%) bread count. Chips were all clumped together and covered with grease. Worst food I have had for a long time, only wish I could give it no stars.

Another great visit and first time this year (Feb24), while visiting for a walk around Ramsgate. Tasty and hot fish and chips and polite and friendly staff, with the fish and chips being made to order and they remain a nice and ample portion size and good value for money.

Honestly so disappointed. Ordered large cod @ £9.50 Ordered mushy peas not mushy fish!!! Def frozen, fish was tasteless and water logged. Chips were ok. Spoke with waitress and asked if the fish was frozen and she said yes it get frozen at sea 🤦🏻 Don’t bother honestly

Cod not cooked thoroughly,batter sticky uncooked and soggy.Chips oily ,vinegar seemed watery and served in a card box to eat at the table.The wall clock ran backwards anti clockwise.Wish we had eaten at Weatherspoons over the road to spend our lunch money of £23 for two.

Best place for fish and chips in Ramsgate. Ive been going everyday whilst staying here. Cod is amazing, and I had a fish called Hoki? Never heard of it but it was amazing and perfectly cooked. Very well priced . Highly recommend a visit whilst in Ramsgate.

The worst chip shop in Ramsgate. Ordered pie and chips that cost £7.60. Asked how long the chips had been there and the staff member said 5minutes! Worst chips I’ve ever tasted. Took them back and offered a new portion, they also ended up in the bin. How hard is it to serve good fish and chips by the seaside. Change the oil and have some pride in your produce.

Fast service and generous portions of chips to eat in, even though we asked for small. Good value. Tables were spotless, staff friendly and efficient. Proper chips, not those spindly crispy things. Would definitely go back.

We have been coming here on and off for about 10 years and used to be served sitting inside the place at a table with fish and chips on a plate. Today......Oi - fish is ready come and get it. In a box - just under £30 and when I asked for ketchup - it's a pound mate . Guess what? Your loss, I shan't be returning, AND it wouldn't have been quite do bad if the tables were clean and the food was better.

Visited this place back in September. Excellent quality cod & chips, freshly fried. The dining area is nice.

One of the fish and chips shops near the beach has a good seating area, and the food portion is generous. However, the prices are a bit high. Also, any sauces need to be bought here. There's a slightly burnt oil smell in the chips, indicating a need for an oil change. the fish tasted good.

I went here mid week for a take-away. They have seating inside and out too. Friendly staff, but the chips and fish were incredibly greasy. Hoki and chips £5.95, Medium cod £6.80 and chips £3. £1 extra for a small sauce sachet. A bit much considering an entire jar of tartare is half that price at a supermarket! I won't be rushing back.

Lovely chips and cheerful staff!

It’s a cute little chippy by the sea but they are pretty expensive for the portion sizes. They’ve gone the route of buying the boxes and then filling it up to give the illusion you’re getting a lot but it’s maybe a third of what you’d get if they wrapped it in paper and they’re charging way more than other places I’ve been. It’s really good fish and chips though (infinitely better than the place across the traffic lights) so it’s worth it for the odd treat but the prices put us off making it more regular.

This is the best fish and chips by far in Kent.Always cooked fresh.Staff are friendly and the place always looks clean.What more could you want?

I can understand the hype and why there is always a line. The fish was fresh, the batter was crispy and even the chips were tasty. One to try!

Excellent fish & chips by the sea!

Awful chips. We order a large chips to share, nuggets and a sausage. The chips were cold and clearly had been sitting there a while. They took so long I think they were frying it fresh but when we got home it was just a disgusting dry cold mess. Do not recommend.

Went to Pete's fish factory ramsgate today ,having not visited for a while ,decided to go there rather than Wetherspoons as the fish would be fresh! Shouldn't have bothered ,sat down to eat inside only to be presented with a cardboard box to eat out of ,I thought they had mistaken us for takeaway. To be charged £30.for haddock and chips x2 to sit inside a so called restraunt is a bit much and have to clear your own table ,the fish and chips were dire!!!!! Will still use the margate shop never going ramsgate shop again.

If you are by the seaside, the unspoken rule is youve got to have fish and chips ! Here they do it very well. Good portions and good pricing. Tbh , we prefer Peters in Margate but here is almost as good. Support independent ! They care and the service is friendly and very good.

Big fish was that big it didn’t fit in the box and had to be bent over, large portion of fish that fed 3 of us, we were also allowed to eat in which with only buying one meal was absolutely fantastic as it was only a mid afternoon snack. Friendly service and good fish and chips.

A decent portion of Haddock & Chips, the fish was a god size, pretty tasty and not too greasy. Alarmingly expensive though. The fish is priced separately from the chips. That's a first for me. Fish supper & a can of Coke was over £15 !!! place was busy so took a long tie coming as well. All in all pretty good but expensive.

Fantastic concept order at the front food served in take away boxes sit at a table and enjoy, clear up behind your self. Lovely food, generous portions, competitively priced,extremely clean, very friendly and helpful staff.

Visiting Ramsgate and the local area, from our home town of Woodbridge. Fabulous atmosphere in Ramsgate, with amazing and friendly service, and yummy food at Peter's Fish Factory. Highly recommended for your seaside meal.

It's so good, but I think a number system might be better to collect your food.

Very good meal from here. I had battered plaice and chips and my daughter had scampi. Both very tasty. The plaice was lovely and the chips were crispy. Enjoyed this very much. If we had been staying longer, then we would have gone there again.

Can honestly say that the £5.45 haddock and chips was the best I’ve had in years! Batter was light, all freshly cooks and portion size was spot on.

Been three times whilst on holiday near to Ramsgate. Service was first class even on a Saturday. The next two visits were midweek. Still active, sat inside. Not a piece of dirt anywhere. Floor was immaculate and not a piece of food on tables or floor. Pristine condition. Food was excellent. Would recommend this place to anyone. Staff were really helpful.

Dirty tables, odd food! Right at the frontline, about 200 meters from the beach, this place promises a lot and fails to deliver some decent f&c. The cod being oddly dry and tasteless and the chips undercooked and awfully greasy, this was definitely a one time only visit. There’s plenty of nice places around here, Peter’s fish factory seems to focus on factory more than on good food. Pretty disappointing

Fatty fries and oddly dry cod. Definitely expected something more from a place right next to the harbour. Obviously they’re focusing on tourists passing by. Lesson learned

Why is that Fish & Chips always tastes that little bit better when you buy and eat it right by the sea? 🎣 Whether you visit Peter’s Fish Factory in Margate or Ramsgate you’ll always enjoy a wholesome and delicious, typically British poke of 🐟 & 🍟! We also tried pea fritters for the first time.. Too good. 😋
