The best restaurants in Abbey Test Valley South East

This has been a favourite lunch spot for myself and my family for a few years now. They've recently had a change of management, and on our resent visit we could see they've been busy decorating and the main room was looking very nice, I much preferred the new decor to the old grey theme. I visited with my son and daughter, and we enjoyed a ploughman's lunch and two jacket potatoes, all beautifully cooked and delicious, and some amazing milkshakes to wash it all down. We were pleased to see the menu still had our favourites on and the service was great as usual. Highly recommended ❤️

Great cafe! Gets very busy quickly so we booked our table by email. Staff were very friendly and helpful with dietary needs. Vegan and GF menus available but are happy to customise normal menu items to meet our tastes as well. Highly recommend.

We visited as a group of 6 friends. Some of our group had already been for food here, and had been so enthusiastic about it, that we arranged this meal. We had lunch, and tried several dishes and the cheese and platter board between us, and wine suggested by the owner and his son. It was a brilliant meal, food was great, wine very good, but the atmosphere was like our visits to France, relaxed and friendly, nothing to rush for, very nice. I think you are likely to have to book ahead, it seemed very busy and popular. Great afternoon.

Brilliant dinner and amazing service. Lovely team and Jess went the extra mile to make us desserts even when the kitchen was closed. Great night.

First time visiting today after walking past many times and seeing it busy. Very glad we did. The food was amazing, and the service was second to none. If you walk past and notice that it’s very busy from the outside, then it’s always worth popping inside to see if there are any tables available. Great brunch spot, and great vibes

I went with my friends and partner to watch the England v Spain game. Sadly England lost but the atmosphere was still great in there. The land lady made sure she found a seat for everyone, grabbing the garden chairs from the back and rearranging the tables so everyone could get a glimpse of a goal. When the match was ending, all of the tables were given a bowl of roasties to share on the house. The land lady was chatty and kind. The staff were also really nice. It is a small pub on the edge of romsey but I would definitely go there again.

Another excellent meal at the Suan Thai. Great service and a relly good atmosphere. Chicken Satay starter was delicious and the Pad Prik just spicy enough. Can't wait to go back!!

Works xmas party! Bit bias as I worked here for along time however, the food was amazing, eberyone loved there choice! Staff were great and it wasn't just because I knew everyone. The whole restaurant was buzzing and lively! Great night had by all.

9 of us arrived for coffee and the service and coffee was excellent. Then our group of 11 returned for lunch. The service and food quality. was perfect and nothing was to much trouble. We would certainly recommend this venue and will definitely return .

My sister booked the cafe for a surprise Christmas present for myself and our mum.The cafe you have to book time slots of which you can only turn up a few minutes beforehand and you get let in due to the cats being loose.The staff here were all very friendly and the while idea with the cats and cat theme is brilliant the only reason this place didn't get a five star was the fact I had a waffle to eat which came with ice cream and no one told me it was vegan as I kept saying this ice cream taste weird and put me off the waffle hot chocolate was delicious from here too

Fresh ice cream for sale in the corn market on a little stall , the taste is lovely and creamy although a tad expensive so would only have as a treat

Fun and friendly staff who couldn't do more to be helpful, putting tables together so the 3 of us could eat in rather than find somewhere else, but also lightheartedly competing over the neatness of their cake slicing! On top of this, the food was excellent, the apricot and ginger pork pie was wonderful, and the creme egg brownie would have been perfect if they hadn't wasted space with walnuts (though I appreciate this is a normal brownie filling, i'm just nitpicking!)

I ordered a pizza and got my confirmation email, an hour and a half went by and with no sign. My address is rural so I called Roma up to ask if all was okay with delivery and a man aggressively answered the phone, cutting me off before I could even explain why I was calling, demanding my order address. He then told me my order was cancelled over an hour ago (no email - nothing), to which he told me I did get one. What can you do...I just said okay and ended the call. Too tired to talk to someone so rude when I was just calling to see if they needed help finding where to go. Wont be ordering again sadly, as I'd prefer to support a local business
