I asked for a Americano, the barista made it by pouring the espresso first then the hot water. As a former barista myself for Costa this a big no no, it burns the coffee! The berry crumble was soft and oily. First and last time going here

This place has massively gone down hill! Used to be my favourite coffee shop in Romsey with the previous owners. Very rude staff, awful selection of cakes and she made my drink in about 2 seconds with no effort or care. Do not visit, avoid at all costs.

Wow, it's such a shame to see how things have changed here! This place used to be the ultimate spot for coffee, cake, and sandwiches – I mean, it was in my top 10 all-time favorite sandwich places! But now? It's like a totally different story. The coffee shop feels lifeless, hardly offering the variety it used to, and they're charging an arm and a leg for a plain flatbread sandwich. It used to be Romsey's best coffee shop, but now it's just a shadow of its former self. What a letdown.

We popped in before picking up a Chinese takeaway and had the whole place to ourselves. Love the atmosphere, Romsey could do with more places like this to elevate the night life and social options! It feels very classy but welcoming too! They allowed in dogs in as well which was great. Will come back!

Fast becoming our favourite coffee shop in Romsey. Coffee is really tasty. Selection of fresh cakes is amazing (the Christmas brownie was beautiful) A really chilled out vibe. It's definitely snug inside but this adds to the atmosphere.

Lovely little jewel in a sea of coffee houses populating Romsey high town. Tried four types of cake slices to ensure an equal field.. 😁 All lush. Millionaire slice in particular was great with a flat white. 👍 Well worth a visit if mooching around the town. 🍰☕🤙

No 5 is one of Romsey's little gems, it's tiny and popular so don't be disappointed if you can't get in. Open during the day as a cafe and then some evenings as a wine bar, I've only so far gone during the day. I do get a little pit off my the condensation running down the windows in the winter when it's busy, I suppose I'm still a little wary about germs (my issue) obviously not much airflow. My cake was just a little dry but my coffee was great, and let's face it I ate the cake so it wasn't that bad! Staff are super friendly, cafe clean and warm with a view onto Bell Street. Well worth a pop in and I'm definitely going to try the wine bar soon.

Sadly disappointed upon visiting No. 5 with my small, well behaved dog. I have been many times before and have enjoyed this little cafe, I was under the impression this cafe was dog friendly, signs stated one dog per table, and the social media depicts a dog friendly cafe. Unfortunately upon visiting I went to sit at a regular table and was immediately asked to go sit at the back (of the empty cafe) at a small, high table with stools, by the stairs, where I had to hold my dog so that she was away from the very close stairs. a little tricky to eat and drink while holding a dog! My furry friend is silent, and well behaved and would have been just fine at another table that was lower where I would not have had to hold her the whole time. I feel the sign should be revised to say 'one dog per table, at the one table, right at the back, where dogs are allowed'. On reflection, after leaving, I feel I was made to feel really rather unwelcome and will not be going back.

What happened to people with a bit of fun in them?! It’s Easter break, kids are off school, parents are at home with kids or like me a mum with two children and just wanting a little bit of me time - meaning coffee! Absolutely shocking experience from the Manager herself. My 3 year old son had work extremely hard to make a little snake cupcake and I allowed him to take it to the coffee shop - No 5. When I sat both children down, I went to finally order myself that well needed coffee. I approached and complimented the manager on her beautiful cakes that unfortunately my son didn’t want as he has his “snake cupcake” ….only to my shock that the manager requested I do not do it again! I explained that He was 3, but she still assumed it was going to be upset her business. On the contrary, she has lost 4 customers ( my husband and myself and my 2 children that I always buy for when at a coffee shop. Disgusting manners, rude, and a extremely obnoxious woman. Beware, don’t move chairs, don’t bring ur kids mini cakes, sweets or in fact DONT GO! Don’t waste your time. Really poor customer service/ the staff look like they can’t wait to leave for the day. If your reading this play it safe.. :-)

Brilliant family run establishment and a credit to Romsey. Beautiful cakes freshly baked every day and lovely savoury selection too - the prosciutto and mozzarella Italian style rolls are gorgeous. Kay, Hattie and the team are so friendly, chatty and welcoming. Recommended for anybody venturing into Romsey to stop in for well-earned refreshment. (They were also providing superb takeaway afternoon teas during the lockdown period, which really made for a much required break and boost to morale amongst the monotony and misery of the pandemic). I don't tend to write negative reviews normally but felt I should this time. I was advised against going to this cafe due to the way previous staff and customers had been treated, however I thought I would go anyway as it looked like a nice place to have a coffee. The place has nice decor but that's about it, the coffee was pretty burnt and bitter i would've had better results going to cafe Nero round the corner and that's saying something. I was made to feel un welcome because I chose to sit in one of the only (out of 4) comfy cushioned seats and being asked move to one of the also limited (it's a small place) hard benches. I later then heard the staff talking behind my back about me choosing to sit in my initial seat. Overall not really worth your time, if it had good food and drink to boast then it wouldnt be as much of a disappointment but really there is never an excuse to be so rude to a customer I soon realised why I had been advised against it.

The only coffee in Romsey that is correctly made, well priced and delicious. This Cafe has not been in Romsey for too long however is now a staple Cafe that I know myself and my family visit regularly. The owner and staff are incredibly friendly and provide excellent customer service. The space is small but provides a comfortable stay whether it is a quick coffee or lunch with friends or family. They provide excellent food and sweets and are always striving to do better and listen to the customers. My only downfall would be that the music is sometimes too loud (as it being so small) so can be distracting or hard to talk and sometimes is not quite the right music (sometimes strange dance music). This does not affect my decision to come but I do make sure I sit closer to the door if the music is loud. Go there and eat their carrot cake!

I’m sorry, the first time I have had a Chinese takeaway in almost a decade and was so looking forward to it. The prawn toast was over cooked and had hardly any prawn in it. Whilst the fried dumplings tasted ok, but were so soggy they were falling apart.

Really good place when they get it right, tonight wasn't it though, nearly an hour and a half wait for a Luke warm pizza with no sauce on it?! Couldn't even get through half before it went in the bin, tasteless, I really don't understand how you forget an ingredient that goes on every single pizza you make.
