Brilliant pub/restaurant Nice to see a pub back on its feet. Staff are beyond helpful really friendly and accommodating. The food oh my god sooooo good. Perfect portion size prices are more than fair only thing I would add is maybe have a prawn cocktail or lighter option for a starter but current starters sound lovely. All round great afternoon Will defo be back and will spread the word

Excellent Sunday Lunch today. We had not booked but rang ahead to make sure there was availability as we had left it a bit late in the day. Was told there was no problem. Staff were very young but cheerful and welcoming. Food was great and gravy very tasty. Usually I say that I would prefer my own home cooked roast but I really enjoyed this

Extremely happy with our experience! We came for the unlimited brunch and were blown away. Service was fantastic, food was beyond amazing and the price was very reasonable. We were a big party as well so not the easiest but the server (I think her name was Charlotte) was extremely attentive and very friendly. All food came out together and everyone was very happy. We shall definitely be coming back again soon!

I enjoyed a fantastic bottomless brunch with my friends at The Hare and Hounds and would highly recommend! The food and drinks were delicious, staff very friendly and attentive and the garden is a lovely setting.

I was really disappointed with the Sunday lunch. The Yorkshire puddings were flat and crispy, the stuffing balls were like buckshot and the vegetable pie was like soup with a lift of pastry lid. The cauliflower cheese as a side dish was really nice. The service was very slow and not very good. I did read the reviews before we booked, and a lot were positive. But, the negative ones were quite true. We may try again, but certainly not for Sunday lunch.

Generally it was a great experience 👍 staff are friendly and funny 😁 nice and clean the place that is, well the staff were as well. But I'd recommend it to anyone many thanks again.

We were 2 women on our own, the pub shut at 9 pm , which we werr not aware of or informed of when we arrivwd at 7pm, at 9pm we weren't actual asked to leave but it was obvious that we were required to, so we paid up and went to stand outside and wait for our lift, when the outside lights were turned of and we were left in the pitch black in the middle of the country side, what atrocious service,

Absolutely delight celebrating my birthday at the Fox and Hounds today. Landlady couldn’t have been more helpful when we realised there had been a mix up with the booking (we had brought our dog) Food and atmosphere were fantastic, Sunday roast was delicious. Wish I lived nearer (family are close) as we would visit all the time. Highly recommend

Came here for mother's day, the staff were exceptional, very polite and welcoming. The food was beautifully cooked and very well presented, over all a lovely experience, will definitely be coming back and would recommend it to anyone.

I had the prawn pil pil to start and the duck for my main and both were absolutely incredible, the portions were very generous and even though the place was super busy it was all cooked to perfection! Its a lovely cosy pub inside, with a very warm and welcoming atmosphere - I cant wait to return for my valentines meal we have booked in!

We went for roast Sunday dinner on14/1/24 we were the last to be served and it showed on the plate, 2 burnt roast potatoes very little vegetables, meat was very nice, however as a family of 5 we will definitely never go back, didn't bother with a sweet, enough is enough.

Friendly quaint pub lovely decor and friendly staff prices fair and reasonable selection of drinks.

Very slow service there was only one other table occupied. Seemed very disorganised unlike in Pat visits.

Service was atrocious. Never again.Roast dinner with NO ROAST POTATOES ON THE PLATE. No drink order taken had to sort ourselves. We were there for 1hr 45mins and only had a main meal. And I was asked if I wanted cauliflower cheese. Then it wasn't on the plate, they forgot. Awful.

On Sunday 18th December my husband and myself went to the pub for a christmas dinner. When we were seated, after 10 minutes no one came to ask our drinks order so my husband went and ordered at the bar. We waited another 25 minutes before someone came to take our order for food. When the food arrived there was no cauliflower cheese or ROAST POTATOES. We had to ask for these. And also ask for cutlery. The meal was good but the services was very very poor. There was a table complaining about dirty glasses also. DEFINATLEY NOT A PLACE TO GO TO NOW IT HAS BEEN TAKEN OVER.

3 of us had a lovely lunch here on Friday. Good choice of menu and my pork ribs were delicious. Well done 😊

AMAZING, where to start? Well… I ate here a a few months before new ownership had taken over and it wasn’t great at all. Now that Ron and Fiona have taken over they have surrounded themselves with the best of staff most in particular Charlotte who always has an extremely positive vibe which is also reciprocated between staff on top of that, the food, service AND atmosphere is impeccable and has levelled up massively which I think is something no one expected of the Hare & Hounds. Now… there is also a great community with between both staff and customers with everyone ALWAYS being pleasant and friendly to one another. Couldn’t recommend more 11/10 *****

Considering how short staffed they were we had great service! Food took a while but when we arrived the restaurant was full so was fully expected! Had a new member staff and although knowledge was minimal was incredibly polite and friendly! Food was really good and left tip!

Have just had a wonderful birthday lunch here. They went above and beyond to ensure I had a good time. Also had plentiful parking. Would highly recommended.

We were a party of 5 and mostly we all enjoyed our food. A couple of main courses were slightly overcooked. But overall the staff were great and we had a good evening.

A lovely afternoon spent at this exceptionally well run establishment; the new owners are a breath of fresh air and are really getting it right. Food and service was excellent, as was the conversation with the owners who are totally committed to providing the best customer experience possible. A real gem of a pub.

Really disappointed with this pub, 7 of us went for sunday lunch and waited an hour for food to arrive after ordering also 2 drinks were initially forgotten. When it eventually did arrive after a table had been served that arrived after us, 2 of the meals were missing and one child's meal was incorrect and had to be swapped, also part of the Sunday Lunch was missing on all plates and had to be brought out separately. Pork was nice however beef was quite fatty and one of our party left most of it. Front of house service was lacking and no real apology so won't be going back.

Food was superb, very reasonably priced and staff couldn't do any more for you!

Wow! Thank you Charlotte for making my birthday so special. From the sublime steak to the apple crumble and custard (big compliments to the chef) and the complimentary pinot. It was superb. Found this place after coming down from hull for a wedding. Absolutely amazing food. Service top class and everything perfect. Just wish it wasn’t 5 hours away from where we live. Will definitely attempt to come back if we have chance

It's a lovely pub just outside Andover. The food was amazing. My husband particularly enjoyed the brisket burger. Charlotte was the perfect host and was very knowledgeable and passionate about the food she was serving. Would definitely visit again.

Not as good as I had hoped. The lasagne was luke warm, and the salad was underwhelming.

The food in this pub is fantastic! We were visiting from the US and happened by this place while taking a Sunday drive. The Sunday Roast Dinner was delicious.

Good twin roast out on the patio. My son and dad had cheeseburger! Which they enjoyed but especially raved about the chips. Reasonably priced and discovered we could've brought Kylie with us as the Garden is dog friendly. Be warned, we will return.

My absolute all time favourite place to go for dinner dates with my partner. The staff are friendly and helpful, and try to make sure we have a brilliant time.

Great pub outside Andover & Charlton. A nice walk up the old Roman road (Hungerford Lane) from the A343 at the top of Andover and south on Enham. If it's been raining, wellies or boots are needed. They have a splendid and tempting menu. Our meals, shoulder of lamb and a steak, were cooked to perfection and accompanied by freshly cooked veg. Huge portions, I struggled to finish. Several footpaths converge around the pub, offering good options to exercise before or after a great meal. Nice walking routes back to Enham, Andover or Charlton.

A really nice pub, nice little garden, with really nice food.. We booked a table for 6 and the kitchen was very accommodating when we ordered 3 vegan burgers whilst they were serving the Sunday roast, which was very good of them.. everyone enjoyed the food, the vegan burger was tasty, with salad & fries, in a pretzel bun which looks like a brioche bun, but isn’t, so it’s also vegan 👍👍👍 good stuff

Superb food (no-one leaves hungry!) and excellent staff. The roast pork's crackling was sensational and they were happy to swap the Irish Champ for plain mash. A real blow-out! Only minor niggle - their coffee machine was broken. Thanks Rob and Crystal, we'll be back....

Nice little place to eat. Food was amazing and everyone in our party agreed. Only reason for not giving 5 stars was the organisation was a little all over the place but gave us something to chuckle at. I would not be put off going back if I was to be on the area again.

Me and my partner had a Christmas dinner on Christmas Day 2022, the starter we both had was perfect and really enjoyed, the turkeys dinner with all the trimmings was very tasty and also enjoyed it, and decided to have a dessert, Christmas pudding was gorgeous, the service we received was excellent and made our Christmas meal fantastic and was well worth the money we paid. I would like to wish the new owner and his staff all the very best for the future, and would recommend anyone to have a meal at the hare & hounds in the near future!

Excellent village atmosphere, superb food

I was disappointed that despite having booked, they did not have a table ready for us. Also, we had to ask for everything. Drinks, Menu's, even cutlery. Food was lovely, but a lot of what I consider to be basics were lacking.

Excellent service by Rob and his team. Nothing was to much trouble. Food was lovely, Would strongly recommend for larger parties there were 12 of us and we all ate at the same time. Thanks S.Winder

Just had a very nice Sunday roast

Myself and 6 others came for our Xmas meal on the 2nd December. After previously having our Xmas meals here per covid and thoroughly enjoying it! Unfortunately this was not the case this time. I was given wine glasses with bright red lip stick stains and even the new glasses did not appear to be washed properly. Despite the fact the pub only had one other party and a couple there it was very quiet. Was informed by a young waitress there were no chilli sauce for the prawns and could have plum or tartar sauce. Considering this was pre-booked why was this not bought in? This young waitress also proceeded to slam out plates down (which we did find amusing) and would lean over someone else’s food to put the other persons food down (just take two steps to put it down properly and professionally!) Main course came - and wow was it over cooked. None of us could cut into our Brussels sprouts. The meat was dry and potatoes overcooked . Understandably one colleague of ours. Was 20 minutes late but did not expect to have food this over cooked or the Brussel sprouts to be raw. It was not enjoyable as everything was dry and the gravy was over salted. Dessert - two colleagues had the crème brûlée and could not break the sugar top as was so thick and teeth shattering. This again was bland as was the. Cheesecake that had no flavour, was no set and a very soggy and thick base. It was not enjoyable. Those eating the brownie did say it was lovely. So overall the food was awful unfortunately which pre covid it was amazing so we were all very gutted by that and the poor poor service by inexperienced young staff slamming our plates down and not being very professional. We did raise this to the other waitress who dealt with it very well and quickly providing us discount!

Such good food and a great atmosphere!

Sadly not for the fussier eater, the menu is very limited now compared to the previous owner/choices, the pub is still lovely and welcoming and staff cannot do enough but being only able to eat maybe 3 dishes on the menu and one that appears to favour fish (of 9 starters 7 were fish) over anything else, sadly we will now have to avoid it in future where it used to be one of our go to restaurant's.

Popped in for lunch, very friendly, quick and tasty food and great drinks. Perfect country pub. Highly recommended.

Very disappointed. It used to be a very nice pub with nice food. Todays for a 50 wedding anniversary we waited for one hour for the food and food was dry, no sauce. Will not go back!

All staff very friendly and welcoming , food wasn't that great . Portions were small , beef roast , the beef was very fatty . Vegetables were very hard . Sorry I'm not one to complain about food very often . But this is my honest opinion.

We found this pub nestled away when we were visiting the area, what a find! We walked in not knowing what to expect and were greeted by an amazing ambiance! Staff were super helpful and the food was top notch! I ordered the beefburger and my partner got the Katsu curry burger (i know). I ended up finishing off both burgers as she couldnt finish it! Definitely would go again! Great parking facilities!

It was very busy Father's Day ...but the service was very poor, took half an hour to get a drink. Food was over cooked (4pm) roast dinner. I have been visiting this establishment for 15years. This was worst experience. Usually much better. It was a shame .

Best sunday riast in Andover area

We celebrated our 10th anniversary with lots of family at The hare and Hounds. Food was great, service on the ball, drinks were flowing everyone was happy. We all had a lovely afternoon. Thank you to all the staff and the owner for our bottles of Prosecco. See you again soon.

First time going here, when you walk in it’s a lovely and warm atmosphere. The staff were so friendly and lovely too, we loved how there was a young boy serving and taking orders. For my starter I had the duck and orange pâté which was so good however I would of preferred a different bread like sourdough and there was no caramelise onions with this however it was still really yummy to eat! For my main, I had the lamb shoulder which was mouth melting, it was delicious. I would of liked some vegetables on the sides and less gravy but apart from that it was stunning! Didn’t have space for a pudding but the brownie (which I would of chosen) looked amazing! It was a really lovely night, myself, my boyfriend and his mum loved it and really did think the staff were amazing and lovely! Would definitely go again 🙂.

Visited for a Sunday Roast. The dinner is excellent. The food is all cooked from fresh produce no frozen potatoes or veg. The Yorkshire puddings are home made too. It's just like how your mum would make it also the gravy is so tasty as well. Respect for the Chef!! Please don't ever leave. Well done 👍

New owners with a new look. Paper menus as well as the previous owners chalk board. Very good meal, very good service. Would strongly suggest booking a table for Friday Saturday and Sunday. Weekday lunchtime good time to eat. Look out for new events happening at the pub. Sounds like some good events are being planned for the not too distant future. Overall enjoyable visit especially as one of our party is vegetarian and more choice than usual for those wanting a veg choice.

A large group of us visited to celebrate grandad-in-law's 90th birthday, we pre-ordered although some people changed their minds on the day. We got there a bit early and possibly because of the changes to orders the food didn't arrive until 30 minutes after our original booking time... Fortunately we managed to keep my little boy from chewing the table leg off but it was close...! I had the roast and it was lacklustre, my wife said her food was not great either, my pudding was tasty, hers not so much. Overall it was just OK, grandad-in-law seemed to enjoy himself so can't really complain.

Very friendly welcome by the new landlord. All the staff were great. The tenderest best steak I've had in ages ( I don't normally ask for steak but this was excellent) keep up the good work!

Fabulous Sunday Lunch, ambience perfect. If you haven't been yet book in and see for yourselves. The food was amazing. Will definitely be going back to try something else off a fabulous full menu.

One starter arrived so late everyone else had finished their's . Burger and bun not great. Steak not great . Lamb was OK. Venison woody and dry . Friendly staff serving . That about sums it up .Disappointed . Won't be rushing back.
