We had the most amazing afternoon tea here! The homemade scones were huge, and delicious, as were the cakes and sandwiches. The staff were friendly and attentive, offering to refill drinks, cream & jam as often as we liked and even boxed up what we couldn't finish thanks to the generous portions! We did look through the menus during our visit (as we'll definitely be coming back!) and it was so nice to see such a variety for Vegan & Gluten Free options, that you don't see in many places. If you're looking for somewhere cosy, with great quality home cooked food & supporting small business, this is definitely the place to go!

I went with my friends and partner to watch the England v Spain game. Sadly England lost but the atmosphere was still great in there. The land lady made sure she found a seat for everyone, grabbing the garden chairs from the back and rearranging the tables so everyone could get a glimpse of a goal. When the match was ending, all of the tables were given a bowl of roasties to share on the house. The land lady was chatty and kind. The staff were also really nice. It is a small pub on the edge of romsey but I would definitely go there again.

9 of us arrived for coffee and the service and coffee was excellent. Then our group of 11 returned for lunch. The service and food quality. was perfect and nothing was to much trouble. We would certainly recommend this venue and will definitely return .

My sister booked the cafe for a surprise Christmas present for myself and our mum.The cafe you have to book time slots of which you can only turn up a few minutes beforehand and you get let in due to the cats being loose. The staff here were all very friendly and the while idea with the cats and cat theme is brilliant the only reason this place didn't get a five star was the fact I had a waffle to eat which came with ice cream and no one told me it was vegan as I kept saying this ice cream taste weird and put me off the waffle hot chocolate was delicious from here too

Fun and friendly staff who couldn't do more to be helpful, putting tables together so the 3 of us could eat in rather than find somewhere else, but also lightheartedly competing over the neatness of their cake slicing! On top of this, the food was excellent, the apricot and ginger pork pie was wonderful, and the creme egg brownie would have been perfect if they hadn't wasted space with walnuts (though I appreciate this is a normal brownie filling, i'm just nitpicking!)

Nice store but too expensive for me. I use the cafe though despite the freezing air conditioning on cold days! Disabled toilet in ladies fashion area is not assessed by those with knowledge and understanding. The unnecessarily very heavy door doesn't open fully so it's difficult if not impossible for a frail person with a rollator or wheelchair to get in or out without someone holding the door open. Theres no coat hook! Are they expected to put their coats on the floor (not not that they would be able to bend down and pick it up)? We did request that a coat hook be put there months ago and it was promised. Obviously they have no imagination as to what it's like to manage as a disabled person.

Fabulous 'Tipsy Tapas' evening with friends! We booked a table for 9 persons and really enjoyed the 'Tipsy Tapas' experience....food was excellent, service friendly and professional. Drinks flowed for the two hour event, and all of us thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Highly recommended and great value!

I just dropped in to buy bread & cakes, and noticed a tray of succulent looking lemon tarts.........On arriving home I was tempted to try the lemon tart with a cup of coffee. What a disaster. Virtually NO lemon in it at all. Just a sweetish gunge. It really was unpleasant to eat..................

We have been a few times for work and the Adam Wharton look a like is most unfriendly and not at all hospitable every time. We may have to start using Café Nero for our coffee. Should stick to pinging passes in the pivot role! A real shame as the drinks taste great.

I dined here in March with friends celebrating a birthday. The Gluten Free menu is a scribbled out dining menu which is not the same menu as the one on the website. I called in advance for an idea of the GF choices, my call was not answered or my email returned. On the day the only option for me was a starter, there were so little choice on the mains. On presentation my meal if you can all it that was a scrambled mess of salad leaves, ham and chicken with a tomato chutney with 2 slices of GF bread, so I am told. After my visit I was ill that evening and the following day I was off work with what I can only suspect was an attack of gluten. I have since tried to discuss this with the restaurant, but am constantly playing ping pong with emails and phone calls. I will now leave this with the experts to unpick the coeliac safety here.

Since the recent change of management this pub has been given a new lease of life. The lovely decor reflects the atmosphere of the pub. I will certainly be back.

As with all National Trust cafes very over priced for what you get, we had to wait ages to be served, the sandwiches were freshly made but that held things up even more, my slice of orange and poppyseed cake was tiny for £4, sandwiches no garnish just bread and the filling for £7, if we go again it will be a long time and probably take a picnic I could understand if a footman delivered it to us but that wasn’t the case.
