The Exchange in Test Valley

Went to the exchange today with some friends, it was around £13 for an English breakfast, we all got one, the food was tough, tasteless and nearly cold, just absolutely not worth the money. Really disappointing. Should spend less money on making the place look fancy and more on cooking nice food. Won’t be going back.

I highly recommend The Exchange for private hire for parties. I arranged a surprise party at The Exchange and it was fantastic. The venue itself is beautiful, tasteful decor, well stocked bar, good size dance floor and seating areas. The manager, Naomi was really helpful throughout the process - from booking to making sure everything ran smoothly on the night. There was clear communication and regular check-ins to clarify and confirm plans. Naomi was able to second guess all of our needs on the night which was really helpful. Staff were great. Thanks so much to Naomi and the staff!

Back of The Exchange is comfortable if you are eating, rather than just coffeeing. The brunches are quite good and the service is friendly and efficient.

If you like undrinkable coffee and the worst full English you have ever eaten, then this is the place for you! The hours, possibly, days old mushroom would have made a great new sole for my shoe! Fried eggs (asked for poached) were possibly the rubberiest thing I have attempted to eat. Cold bacon and over cooked sausage topped off with chewy dry cold toast! Partners cold breakfast wasn't appreciated either. We did have a chuckle with another couple on the way out about how truly awful the food was! The family between us was also busy returning food as we left! On the plus side, lovely friendly staff. Clearly very let down by a hopeless chef!

Went here for post Xmas 'Do' for group of volunteers. Service was non existent, the buffet (which was nearly all unhealthy fried fast food type) was just placed near where we were sat (at separate tables, not even altogether!!?!), without staff really informing all of us. Had to go up to the bar to get our drinks, no table service, no interaction with us by staff at all. Upon leaving, no acknowledgement by staff. For the price paid, overall diabolical, we will not be returning.

Our first visit, esp as Josies was full. The service good, food excellent and better than Josies. Only one problem….the front door needs fixing so it closes easily rather than stay open and freeze the customers… definitely will return!

We started to use the Exchange as Josies always full and to be honest would not go back to Josies. We have only ever been for breakfast but the staff are lovely and the food is better than at Josies. Never disappoints. Not too sure why more people don't use it. Never had to wait and always piping hot and you don't feel hemmed in. Great find would recommend. Come here a couple of times a month.

Took my children and nephews to lunch with Santa today! It was lovely! Food was outstanding, quick service. Staff went above and beyond, especially for my daughter when she got a little upset as her sister got an older present from Santa and she likes to have the same. They made the effort to make her lunchtime more magical. My family had such a lovely time. They had glitter tattoos and reindeer food making for the children to help keep them occupied! Overall such a lovely experience for such an amazing price! Will definitely be booking again. Thank you again for such a wonderful visit and making my daughter so happy! You all done such an amazing job you should be so proud! 😊

Came here for brunch because Josie’s was full. Staff took ages to take our order. When the stack of pancakes came out it was so disappointing- tiny serving size of three pancakes the size of scotch pancakes. They were very average. The other breakfasts were also small portions and very average. Shame the food wasn’t great as it’s nicely decorated inside but I wouldn’t come again.

We hired the exchange for our daughters 18th birthday , we could not have been happier the staff were attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Booking was easy and the buffet food was plentiful with lots of variety . Also the DJ George sourced by the venue was great . All in all i would not hesitate to recommend this venue for bookings 5 star !

A large group of us booked for a friends 40th birthday on Friday evening and we had a great time. The service was very prompt and very friendly, we were asked frequently if we were OK for drinks, and if we would like to order food, which we all did. The tapas came out quickly and was tasty. There was a live singer, who was amazing and he got most of the restaurant up dancing. We all had a great evening and will definitely be returning.

We popped into the Exchance whilst visiting Romsey, the restaurant has a nice atmosphere and all the staff were friendly, the menu is good, i decided on Eggs Benedict, my wife had a small breakfast, the food was hot and well presented. The restaurant was clean, and the service was good, a very enjoyable Brunch.

We visited Romsey today and decided to go in here for a coffee , then decided to have a bite to eat . I had a small breakfast and my hubby had a eggs benedict, it was very nice , staff friendly and helpful .

I wanted to order poached eggs, but when asked i was told the eggs were not free range. I was surprised and upset. I adopt rescue hens and i have seen the state of them, the lucky ones are usually bald of feathers and pale and sickly. I urge them to change supplier to a free range one.

The poached eggs were not very hot and there is a service charge added regardless of table size and we could not see this mentioned anywhere. Disappointed as it is not the cheapest in Romsey.

Thank you so much to the whole team for making my sons 18th birthday lunch so special. We all enjoyed ourselves from age 15 to 82 and were looked after beautifully, we will definitely be back, in fact I think my Auntie has booked to come again on 15th August she enjoyed it so much

Took my family out on Tuesday and enjoyed the children eat for £5 meal. Great value and great staff. Nice to go somewhere that encourages family dining.

Ive been a couple of times and the food has been consistently amazing, this time we had the pancake stack. The service was great and always nice to see the same staff.
