Bradbeers in Test Valley

Very good food, served quickly. There are very rarely plain crisps and they usually only have obscure flavours no one wants. Some radiators are cold even when it's freezing outside. The one on the left by the two seater tables as you come in is always cold. Miserable on a cold day. The person rolling cutlery into serviettes (took up a whole table to do so) lifted every single knife and fork by the wrong end, not the handle, so germs passed on to everyone. This is a warning to wipe your cutlery before use! We wonder what goes on behind the scenes if that is thought to be OK. Health and safety not understood by some. Sorry to criticise as this is a pleasant place with pleasant people serving. Food is served until late afternoon and well presented. I hope this feedback helps as it just needs better direction and maintenance.

Had two cappuccino this morning they were luke warm. This is the third time this has happend. I tried to tell assistant quietly but she said very .loudly im sorry you should of brought it back.

Her in-depth knowledge of her products, an intuitive understanding of my needs and her absolute professionalism ensured my absolute confidence in her guidance and advice. After an impromptu, fabulous make-over, I left Bradbeers feeling uplifted and the able to apply my new make up with confidence.

I had an excellent evening organised by Smith Bradbeers making a Christmas Wreath. It was run by two lovely ladies , who advised, helped and taught everyone who attended. Coffee, tea or a glass of bubbles and mince pies went down extremely well. Definitely worth doing.

Wreath-making event November 2024 First time I’d seen an event like this in my local Bradbeers, after going to similar events for many years elsewhere. Very welcoming atmosphere with super friendly staff. Just the right amount of help offered to allow for a professional looking wreath and social time with my daughter. Generous amount of refreshments available and enough time to make the wreath with time to chat. Lots of choice of greenery and embellishments and price mid-range for area. Would definitely go back and highly recommend. Please repeat this next year Bradbeers and maybe add a table decoration workshop too? 🙏

Just the best department store ever!

I came back today having popped in the day before. I purchased an excellent leather jacket. My wife was so impressed we went upstairs and she bought a lovely wine coloured wine too. Excellent price and we browsed the store afterwards. Prior to this we had excellent eggs Benedict in the cafe where we have been before. Travelled all the way from Gosport for our purchase. Love this mini department store, definitely recommend and will be back.

Went to Bradbeers Restaurant Saturday 12th October, the food was great, the service was great but that is where it ends. The Restaurant itself was like going into a works canteen, not comfy seating, cheap tables set out like a service station and zero atmosphere - no music just very very bland. You get the feeling it was OK 20 years ago but it is defiantly not OK now. It is for that reason alone l will not be returning.

Freezing cold with air conditioning on, on what was a cold and wet day. The only way to avoid the ice cold air (actually we could still feel it) was to go to the smaller area to the side but unfortunately a member of staff was sorting cutlery loudly at a table and she and her colleague were calling to each other so we couldn't hear our own conversation. Perhaps these things could be done away from customers? They are always running out of plain crisps! It's very rare we can buy any. We're told it's because thy sell out. So why not order more plain and fewer obscure flavours not many people want (evidenced by what's always available!)? Sandwiches were generous and arrived quickly. However the cold air meant we ate and left quickly to warm up! Didn't therefore try the tea or coffee so can't comment. What a shame.

Cold with cold air blowing on you all the time. It was a cold day so no reason for it. Waste of energy. Food good but ruined as we were uncomfortable. Couple next to us were also complaining but no one tells management I suppose.

Lovely old school department store with some off beat brands that you won't find on the high street.

I came to the department store today. I bought a dress at the Hobbs counter and was served by an assistant with blonde hair. She was professional and friendly and gave fantastic customer service. I had a lovely time with my mum shopping today.

I popped in during the week to have my eyebrows done and I was looked after by a lovely lady named Jade. I struggle with my anxiety a lot but Jade was able to ease my nerves and talked me through what she was doing. My eye brows have never looked better! Simply amazing and such an asset to your store! I will be recommending her to all my family and friends!!

This is our regular lunch venue when we're in Romse. Food is served quickly and is nicely presented. Helpful staff. Unfortunately the air conditioning is often so cold that we can't sit at some seats when it's on. It's on even on cool days so we either have to find a seat round the corner (husband can't do steps) or move on elsewhere. It's a shame as we'd prefer to remain faithful. We do understand that staff maybe hot as they're moving all the time but perhaps their cooling system could be separated! A nice clean venue with a good menu choice. We like the fact that we can order sandwiches to late afternoon. Only other bone of contention is that they rarely have plain crisps, despite having huge choice of flavours. I would have thought their demographic would prefer plain and it's a safe option but it's possible the suppliers have let them down. However we mostly enjoy our visits. It's good to have a reliable and well-tended place to eat.

Great selection of sale shoes & clothes for end of season. Lunch in cafe spoilt pot of fragrant tea, not drinkable. Changed by waitress grudgingly for breakfast tea, no apology obviously an error. Had to ask for new cups, not up to Bradbeers usual standard.

This is a great store that stocks many different things. Women and men's clothing (some fashion) underwear, sewing/knitting supplies, kitchen wear, table wear, bedding, make up, shoes, handbags. They also have a coffee shop on the ground floor with outside seating to the front and back, a restaurant on the first floor with mainly inside seating but it does have a limited number of seats outside. I have taken coffee downstairs and sat outside but I dud this before they upgraded the area and it wasn't great. But if has been totally refurbished and looks much better. I gave never eaten upstairs. To be frank I don't find the cafe staff that friendly, pre refurb, and Romsey has do many coffee shops I tend to choose others. But I have not tried for at least a year and things could have changed so its not really fair to judge them now. They also have, on the first floor, a beauty salon but I have never tried it. On the ground floor they have a nail bar (for one) and an eyebrow thread chair. I can't say I would use either as they are both so public. Nails I am not so bothered about, but still wouldn't, but the eyebrow chair being right in the make up area I would never use. I am aware that is personal taste but having chatted to friends they feel the same. Something about being reclined with such a personal service being done with other standing around buying stuff I wouldn't find relaxing! But if you are in Romsey and looking for a one stop shop this is as good a place as any to head for!

I arrived with no pre-arranged appointment to request a bra fitting. A truly lovely lady in the department missed her lunch break to fit me in on the spot, tried many sizes and styles with the utmost patience, kindness and professionalism. Didn't make me feel a nuisance even tho I probably was!

This is the beating heart of Romsey high Street. Come on people support your local department store. Very reasonable prices and great service. Definitely worth a visit.

Great store for all your needs , such a great selection of items covering household, perfume/beauty , clothing and handbags, etc.

I had an amazing evening with Clarins Team yesterday when we attended a makeup and beauty event. I learned so much and feel much more confident about the products! I would definitely recommend anyone to attend a similar event. The staff were so welcoming and knowledgeable. Thank you Bradbeers for hosting this thoroughly enjoyable session.

Lovely garden centre plenty of plants and helpful staff

Terrible do not visit restaurant. I visited today for tea in the restaurant with my elderly Mum. The decaffeinated tea was undrinkable and tasted like dishwater. At the counter I asked for an extra pot of boiling water after asking for 2 teas. They gave me the equivalent of a tiny milk pot of boiling water and refused to give me an extra teapot with boiling water in it. The level of customer service was atrocious. I had to purchase an extra pot of tea as their tea pots are minuscule and half the size of anywhere else. On drinking the tea which cost £7.80 we found it undrinkable which added insult to injury. A complete waste of money. I have put a complaint into Bradbeers as I am shocked at the level of service by the ladies serving and the quality of the tea. I have visited numerous cafes over Hampshire and I have never been refused an extra pot of boiling water or had undrinkable tea. Old fashioned store but certainly not old fashioned customer service. Very disappointing and we will not be visiting again!

Today we visited Bradbeers for coffee and scones . Firstly noticed that the coffee cups had been changed and shaped like a cone ,obviously reducing the amount of coffee whilst increasing its cost. The fruit scone was dry .When speaking to the server she didn't offer to replace it or refund it ,but would toast it . Not a good experience!

Like this small department store the staff are very helpful and friendly. My issue is with the hairdressers attached upstairs. I had my hair cut and coloured a while back it cost £95.00. My grey roots were dyed and within a week after 1 wash there was a ginger halo instead of a brown root. I rang them they advised to send photo evidence via email which I did as I had left the area and it was too far away to return. I never had a response ,tried ringing could not get through so gave up. This was an incorrect colouring and I wanted a refund.

Great store, sell nearly everything.

I found the clothing shop in here extremely overpriced. The store itself is within walking distance to most other shops and restaurants.

We enjoy visiting the store, lots of wide choices. Fantastic restaurant too.

Lovely old family feel Department store. It covers a large array of goods and fashions - and always seems to have what you're looking for. The service is excellent (delivery available on larger goods).

Nice store, kind of old fashioned; but that is part of its charm. Women's clothing is definitely aimed at ladies of 70+. I'm guessing that a lot of brands are sourced from Asia, as they don't fit the average UK woman at all. I ended up with some new mugs and a fitted sheet, plus ideas for curtain fabric.

Always enjoy a visit to bradbeers, home section my favourite, food could be a bit hotter in the restaurant

A first class department store with outstanding choice. Service is quiet outstanding.If they haven't got it in the store they will try other store locations in the group and have it delivered to a store nearest to you. Prices are very competitive. I am impressed and would always try Bradbeers first.

Vast selection of quality clothing and household products

This is the shop we always visit when coming to Romsey. So much to see. Excellent quality clothes and the cafe is really good.

The shop is excellent and so is the restaurant. It is the nearest departmental shop to Bournemouth. There is a Bradbeers in New Milton. I have not visited this store. Another outing for me soon.

Really miserable staff who did not appear to want to be there. Unhelpful and poorly managed.

As a local Salisbury resident I am keen to support the new store, and will do as much Christmas shopping there as I can. But, I'm not sure that I'll rush back to the restaurant. Although I could not fault the service, the actual food that I ordered was disappointing; a panini...... that wasn't a panini, but was, in fact, a toasted baguette. Come on Bradbeers, you can do better. I know this, as I've enjoyed lunches at your Romsey store. Robert

I have only been in bradbeer and I was amazed by how patient and lovely they were the hot chocolate was fantastic and wasn't as strong as the last place I went too the cake was delicious and the atmosphere was amazing

I went into the new Salisbury store today and it was so lovely. Bright and airy,friendly welcoming staff. Huge choice of brands. I was particularly impressed by the wide variety of handbags….I spent some time talking to a lovely staff member called Katie,I believe,she was so enthusiastic and walked me round all the brands till I found what suited me best,there were prices to suit all pockets.I was super happy with my purchase and will definitely return again soon after receiving such wonderful customer service :)

Coffee was from a machine and was just warm not hot. I complained and it was replaced. Tables were dirty. Floor eas dirty. Tables weren't being cleared. Service was non existent.

Visited the store today. Handed a 'Scottish £10 note to the sales assistant to pay for a Birthday Card she looked at the note several times before muttering something about forgeries!! Eventually, without lifting her head up she put it in the till and gave me my change. A blonde woman, fancy hairdo but no customer skills whatsoever. I then visited the perfume/makeup department. While browsing I listened to a very 'interesting' conversation between a sales assistsnt in tbe Chanel section ( another blonde woman) and a man presumably from the stockroom criticising the management of the company. At one point discussing the state of the staff room carpet quote "and to think they own a carpet shop". We then visited the cafe on tbe ground floor. The muffins we had were delicious but we had eaten them before the coffee came. It wasn't busy so why the wait. Lovely shop but let down by staff.

(Smith) Bradbeers in Romsey is a store situated right in the heart of the market town of Romsey with a variety of departments. The facade is hidden in the main Square but has been designed to fit in with the setting of the town. It is old-fashioned service with a modern twist. Car parking is nearby. Romsey is a wonderful town to visit with something for everyone and Bradbeers is an asset.

Always like visiting Bradbeers in Romsey. Department store itself always a bargain to be found, beautiful clothes and household goods. Make up and perfumes great selection. Restaurant upstairs and downstairs staff really friendly and food very tasty 😋👍

I purchased a pair of black Gabor boots today in Romsey and was served by a shop assistant from the Charles Clinkard section. I’m afraid I did not ask her name, however, myself and husband have been served by her a few times now. She is ‘excellent’ at her job, so friendly and polite and a real asset to your company.

Food good, however the young girl on the till and the young guy clearing the tables both had a very miserable unhappy look on their fa es. It wasn't welcoming at all and not what I would expect from Bradbeers at all. My friend and I were very disappointed to be honest.

So nice to be in a proper department store again !!

Old fashioned dept store with great service

In todays market with online shopping, it was quite refreshing to come to this store. Brilliant prices bought some lovely clothes for my next holiday. Would recommend a visit.

Had a bra fitting in the lingerie department here. The ladies absolutely know what they're doing and understand which brand is best for your shape. Wide choice of styles and colours. Won't go anywhere else for bras!

Went for bedding, but they only have the most expensive brands - and not exactly what I was looking for anyway.
