Walnut Tree Farm, Dining & Carvery in Test Valley

Came here for breakfast with family this morning, kids loved the soft play! Customer service was fantastic. Kayleigh and Mandy were very attentive, especially with our large group. Would recommend☺️

Great time at the Walnut Tree Farm today, managed to get a seat by the play area for the kids to enjoy, and the food was incredible as always. We visit regularly and are never disappointed!

We love to come here for a lunch with the babies! Such great options for them on the menu as well as a baby bowl available at the carvery. Also fab vegan and veggie options too

We are regular customers at this venue and have always been happy with the meals. However today we were very disappointed. After a longer than usual wait the meals arrived. The gammon steaks we nicely done but the cod and chips were a disaster. The batter was thick and burnt it required jabbing with fork to get to the fish. When the batter was removed the fish was dried out and hard at both ends. We were really let down. The waitress offered to get another one but the time we had to wait for the first meals to arrived would have made it a very long wait. See batter in the attached photo.

Perfect for a family. Went with my son and 2 grandsons. Colouring crayons provided, soft play area for kiddies. Carvery very good value. And the most enormous cakes I have ever seen! Hope to go again next week.

Come in this afternoon with 4 kids and amazing deal where the kids eat free for 1 adult main purchased . Lovely food . And of course lovely cake too.

This carvery is a must-visit for anyone craving hearty, traditional English fare. The roast meats were perfectly cooked—tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The selection of vegetables and sides was fantastic, from crispy roast potatoes to fluffy Yorkshire puddings, all topped off with a rich, delicious gravy. The staff were welcoming and kept everything running smoothly, even during busy times. The warm, relaxed atmosphere made it feel like a proper Sunday dinner. Great value for money and a real treat for roast dinner lovers!

We always go to the walnut tree when family visit from canada, a brilliant english traditional roast, very good value for money, plenty of meat and a great selection of veg and huge Yorkshire puddings

The carvery was really nice and the workers were really nice letting us order a little after closing hour and the play area is a really good edition to bring your children.

Lovely food, lovely people.. and I even managed to beat Kayleigh at rock paper scissors. There was a Chinese couple on the facetime really loud though so I told them to shut up, in Chinese.

Delivery man was amazing. Just eat You’re getting all the delivery drivers in trouble because you can’t put my address properly. My postcode is right but you keep sending them to the wrong address. Sort this out before they keep getting in trouble because of just eat!!!!!!

Staff were polite kind and helpful thanked them for giving up their Xmas day for us they all said we was welcome went out of there way to make Xmas day special apologised if we were kept waiting were cheery and kind can't praise them enough

I don't get to see my elderly father on Xmas day so we make our Boxing Day the day to celebrate. Dad is nearly 82 and finds new places quite daunting hence we visit the Walnut Tree and he feels safe and comfortable there, plus the food and service are always good

We had breakfast here, when it was almost closing time, but the staff were welcoming and even served us hot breakfast and served it professionally. Friendly staff, good parking space, good quality food and loved it.

Food was excellent however the service at the bar was a bottle neck and very slow. Definitely needed more staff on the tills to serve drinks and take food orders.

Great visit, lovely service! Nice food and a very warm welcoming environment.

Had a belated family Christmas lunch here and we all had a great time. Prices for food & drink were reasonable. We had a few cheese and bacon burgers, chicken combo and some carverys which were all very tasty. The large carvery is huge fyi. We asked when booking the table some weeks ago to be placed in the softplay area as we had a few kids with us but when we arrived our table was quite far away, so I enquired about this to a waitress, she then moved a few tables around and managed to get us abit closer which was we were very grateful for! So thank you for that. The softplay is fantastic for kids, a few slides and climbing areas, a mini games arcade and a under 2's area. The only negative is that we ordered a pizza for my Son but it was horrendously soggy so we sent it back but it was still very soggy when it came out again which is a real shame as my Son was quite hungry. Overall, we would return and had a lovely time!

Food quality is okay, prices reasonable. Has a free soft play so it's cheap couple of hours out for a family. Went to meet Santa at breakfast and was excellent value for money. Spent about £40 for breakfast unlimited tea/ coffee and kids met Santa.

We had a large table of 13 people including 6 children and were seated on a large table directly next to the children’s play area which was perfect to keep the children entertained and meant the adults could chat and relax. Great family location.

When people ask for instructions please read. I cannot abide vegetables so requested no vegetables. Even the fact they had touched everything else puts me off, which is a real shame as the the bit I did ask for was very good.
