Feathers Restaurant in Test Valley

Lasagne and macaroni cheese were both only warm - my friend asked for his lasagne to be microwaved to heat it up a bit, the server was willing to help but in the end only replaced it with a fresh portion of only warm food.

Decent coffee, food was a disappointment spent 7 quid for this exuse of a bacon roll, some chips left under a warming bulb the eggs benidict was the saving grace, good quality and cooked well 2/5

I only had a pre made sandwich and a cold drink, which was ok. Looked like a good variety of food available. A nice cafe in a great location, just needs to sort out the lack of aircon or possibly add some fans for hot days.

Food is great. Staff are SO friendly, I said I was disappointed that they didn't have the chicken caesar salad special and they asked the chef if he was able to make it custom for me. They were very reassuring about allergies.

Needs to address the heat... close the doors use the Aircon, the fridges might work more efficiently and keep the food and drink cooler. Other than this a nice little restaurant with a decent amount of variety.

Bit noisy with the kids on holiday but never the less very good.

I know that a company needs to make a profit, but nearly £7 for 2 pieces of barely cooked and tepid bacon and a panini didn't really come close to value or quality. Food plates plonked on the table and were guided to the condiment trolley on the other side of the cafe to help ourselves. Don't get me wrong, when a cafe is busy, and the staff are working hard at their job, I would understand their plight, but this was quiet.

Enjoyed beautiful home made gluten free cakes today, so much so that I bought an additional cappuccino cake after I enjoyed the lemon so much.

Ham,egg & chips. Plenty of it,nicely cooked. Maybe a tad expensive @ a tenner,but the money was going to a good cause.

Food ok, had to wait 30mins to be served, not enough staff, although we in a group of 30.

Very basic. My rating is based simply on my expectations from such a wonderful place as Hawk Conservancy.

Poor selection of midday meals, and the baked potato was cold.

Jacket potato was cold, and for £10.05 it was a bit of a joke. Priced as £7.35 for one jacket and one topping, then £1.35 per additional topping, well of course your going to add cheese to the beans, but for £1.35 I was expecting more then the light dandruff topping I got. Same goes for the small portion of coleslaw. If we go back to hawks conservancy I'll be taking a packed lunch

Friendly and helpful staff with quality food at reasonable prices

We visited during our visit to the Hawk Conservancy and used it during our day out, the food is very good and the prices are as you would expect, slightly higher but not unrealistic. The seated area is very clean, the staff are very friendly and polite.

Hawk conservancy is brilliant and a wonderful experience. Flying birds, brilliant 👏.

Had a bacon roll and coffee. Was ok for the price.

Helpful friendly staff serving tasty food!

Suggest you grab a table straight away as lunch falls between two bird shows and gets extremely busy.

Food was really good value, staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The restaurant area was functional, some nice artwork and wood carving - a bonus being that it was warm on a freezing cold day.

Massive queues then nowhere to sit. Food was average/good but I'm unclear why they keep taking orders when people are literally holding trays waiting for tables. Total disaster. Conservancy was lovely though...

Limited food offerings a day the atmosphere is more canteen like than restaurant.

Always good food with lots of options available. They also do a really good hot chocolate! Plenty of tables even when it's busy. Food can be quite expensive for what it is but happy to pay it as all helps towards the charity.

Quite a long queue (although we did visit during October half term!), would have been helpful to have a menu near the entrance to look at while you're queueing. Different food options from sandwiches (option of Toasted sandwiches), baguettes, jacket potatoes, basic salads and other hot food specials such as chilli con carne / curry. Food fairly pricey, but it was good. We paid £20.25 for a jacket potato with 2 toppings, a ham sandwich, 2 packets of crips, 2 soft drink cans and a small bottle of water 10/10 for cleanliness though inside the restaurant, even though it was busy the staff were on it with cleaning up tables and each table had a plaque you could turn when it required disinfecting which was a good idea. Outdoor seating available. They had both vegetarian and gluten free options.

The food in Feathers Restaurant is delicious. They have full meals, jacket potatoes, sandwiches and cake. Good choice of hot and cold drinks. The friendly staff are really good at getting lots of food out when everybody comes in at the same time from the flying displays. If you want to sit in the restaurant over a cuppa that's ok too, they're happy for you to do that. Great place to eat, great day out.

It gets very busy over lunch time, which as expected, all our meals we of a good size, Only niggle was one of our jacket potatoes was not quite cooked, but that will not stop us returning on our next visit

Very nice. Clean, not crowded but short staffed today. We'll done the 3 staff team that were on duty. Big portions! Nice cream tea.

Went here for a birthday party it was after hours and we had the opportunity to look around until 7pm when the park closed properly and the entertainment started inside, good food well catered but if it was a in-house disco it was disappointing

New restaurant was nice, livh disappointing- I had a toasties sandwich but the filling was raw, what's that all about!

Shame there is now a playground. It draws children's interest away from the birds and education about them.

It's clean and tidy with reasonably priced food and drinks. It had got a little cold, so we popped in there. We only had hot drinks while we were there, but having the doors open to ventilate made it hard to sit with no draught.

As self-service restaurants go this is a fairly good one. Plenty of nice menu choices for both adults and children, and the whole place is pretty clean. The only slight complaint is the chips were not particularly hot.

Great service reasonable price. Food hot and delivered promptly all at the same time . It was a busy lunchtime but very well organised .

The food did not have what we want no fish or scampi and few other on the list we was there between 1pm 1.30pm disappointed

Had a table reserved for ten off us,booked in advance,had to wait to be served but was a busy time so that was expected. The food was good solid food so to speak. The ham egg and chips was the best meal on the menu though👍

It's a good place to eat if you are visiting the trust. Breakfast and lunch both good.

It can get busy and noisy especially between flying displays so timing is everything. Reasonably good value and clean despite the masses. We delayed our visit to avoid the peak for a more peaceful dining experience and still had time to make the next flying display.

Very good food. Staff good Covid precautions. Avoid going there just after the first display as the queues will be longest then.

Lovely place reasonably priced and food was hot an tasty and the progits go back to the conservancy .they cater for all needs

Had a very enjoyable lunch here during a visit to the Hawk Conservancy. Even though it was busy, we were able to order food quickly and it arrived promptly afterwards. Obviously freshly cooked and very tasty - my daughter particularly like the chicken nuggets which were actually made from proper chunks of chicken breast! Great service from staff too.

When you visit the Hawk Conservancy the restaurant is worth a visit for some freshly cooked tasty food.

Tasty lunch of ham, egg and chips was generous (two eggs, two slices of thick ham) and arrived quickly. Slightly reduced menu but still plenty to tempt and reasonably priced. Good covid precautions included cutlery and condiments tucked into in an individual paper container, clean trays given from behind counter, tables sanitised, plenty of hand sanitiser available. Generous pot of tea, second hot chocolate was but previous one was lukewarm. Not busy on our visit so social distancing easy.

Well considering covid has limited what they can do really nice restaurant. Lovely sandwiches and the hot food looked and smelled amazing

On the day of our visit, there were a good range of options on the specials board for meat eaters and vegans. I really enjoyed the coronation jacket. My husband and I shared the hot apple crumble with custard, which was good homely stuff.

Although very busy, the food was excellent and reasonably price. The staff were helpful and friendly.

Visiting the Hawk conservatory is an all day affair so it is good that this restaurant is on site. Excellent choice of food, well cooked. Brilliant service. Enough said.

Family group visited the restaurant for a lovely lunch. All meals were freshly prepared, tasty and good value. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly even at their busiest time of day.

Good Food in a comfortable setting. We had a very nice ham egg and chips, excellent thick cut ham, really nice.

Had a small lunch here after visiting the Hawk Conservatory Centre. However when I say small the portions are quick big as only ordered 2 cheese & onion toasties so we were simply surprised at the side salad. Quite reasonably priced too and very clean. Well worth a visit.

The menu is limited but well cooked. The speciality on the day of our visit was jacket potatoes with a good variety of toppings. Drink options were varied and reasonably priced. The staff were cheerful and helpful.

Not a lot of variaty. Didnt find something we really liked. We ate there because it was the only option in the park.

Absolutely superb! Food portions are big and staff are so friendly couldn’t fault them. Definitely coming back as want to try your Jacket potatoes.

A bright airy indoor seating area plus out door. This is self service with a good choice of food. Hot dishes brought to your table. Friendly, helpful staff. Very good value.

Feathers Restaurant is at the Hawk Conservancy Trust. It is ideal for taking lunch during your visit to the the birds of prey. Clean and modern facilities, and helpful staff. There is a big enough menu to satisfy everyone, and prices are reasonable. We had the home-made mushroom soup, which came with a cottage roll and butter. Later, we returned for a mug of hot chocolate. Most welcome on the cold day we were there.

A limited menu but good for what was available. Very clean and staff helpful. Toilets well maintained and clean.

I didn't think to take pictures, apologies, but we had very nice food here today while visiting the Hawk Trust!My husband had pizza baguette and a side of chip (lots too)! My son had fish goujon, chips and beans, devoured in minutes! I had Ham, egg and chips(again lots).There was a great selection of hot food, aswell as sandwiches, snacks, a specials board and yummy looking cakes and sweet treats. We had cold drinks, which there are a good selection to choose from and there was also a good selection of hot drinks on offer.A lovely clean seating area, with plenty of tables to choose from both inside and outside. Plenty of bathroom facilities aswell.There is also a small shepherds hut by the meadow selling ice creams, and drinks!All staff ran a smooth service, and were on the whole very polite and helpful!Thanks all!

Really good quality food at very reasonable prices, there's a great selection of food and a nice kids menu along with ice creams and cold drinks. Also a lovely outside seating area.

My wife, mother-in-law and I ate lunch here during a trip to the Hawk Conservancy Trust in August 2018. We all had toasted sandwiches, which were fine. There were also some sandwiches made up in packets, but very few of them and with a very limited selection of fillings. Staff were friendly and helpful, though, so all in all our experience was positive.

Went to the Hawk Conservancy for a day out, and friends treated us to a meal Restaurant nice and clean good choice of meals and at a reasonable price ,no where near what I expected.

The Feathers restaurant opens at 09.00, one hour before the rest of the site so it is possible to have breakfast or coffee and a snack before entering the park. The staff are helpful and friendly and cope efficiently with the large volume of visitors. Prices are reasonable and there is plenty of choice.

We enjoyed lunch here with 2 x granddaughters. All enjoyed the choice of food and the pleasant atmosphere in the cafe. Definitely will be returning.

Went to see the birds for a day and started out with breakfast in the restaurant before the park opened - fabulous cooked breakfast freshly made and very tasty - every bit was eaten and we were full enough to forget lunch and then enjoy a cream tea before we left at closing time - fabulous cream tea too and no supper required when we got home! Lovely for me to know everyone is well fed and watered without me having to do anything!!

Excellent food served promptly by friendly staff, who were under pressure to serve a full restaurant. The prices were good, considering that this is a fund raising section of the excellent Hawk Conservancy. We all said that we would have had a breakfast if we had been aware of the quality of food. There are 3 timed menus, which all had a good varied selection.

Great quality food and quick service. In a nice clean accessible restaurant. Reasonable prices and friendly staff too. Worth popping into for a quick snack either when visiting the site or I might just pop in while travelling down the busy A303, for a rest.

I wrongly anticipated the sort of meal for two grandsons and a daughter that we come to dread at "attraction centres" (usually over priced and pre-prepared frozen food). Excellent value here and I had a beautiful roast pepper and tomato soup obviously home made, and an amazing little plate of home made cookies as a treat for the children after their meal for £1.25. The children were fussed over and the staff could not have been more pleasant. All in all, a very pleasant surprise, oh and the display in the afternoon at the wild flower meadow was spectacular.

We enjoyed an exceptional meal with our family and had a tour of the facilities. Everything was exceptiponally clean and well presented.
