Costa Coffee in Test Valley

Cannot believe the behaviour of the staff in Costa this morning. All 3 girls shouting and screaming over the banister at a member of the public with a baby. Something about staff filming a child. This type of behaviour from staff is not acceptable and should not go unnoticed

This is one of my favourite Costas. The staff are friendly and can have a good laugh with them. The place is also nice and clean.

Visited today and a staff member was very rude. Refused to add a little bit more milk to my latte telling me "You can't have anymore milk, you have a small"! And to add insult to injury, no beans made it to my account!

Dogs are not allowed other than assisted dogs ,this is not the case. We go to Costa because dogs are not allowed however they had dogs today ,so that's the last visit unfortunately.

Disappointed there was no WiFi available. Otherwise it was what you'd expect from a Costa.

Visited today and was welcomed by the lovely bex behind the counter. What a lovely welcoming face she has. So jolly 😊 always love coming to romsey costa. Bonus to be served by bex xx

It was fine. Fairly standard Costa. Lots of seating. Service friendly.

They messed up my partner’s order which was then rectified but he said it tasted awful. The woman behind the counter said she didn’t like the taste of that particular drink anyway which was I found to be really unprofessional. They remade his drink and the barista apologised. My coffee tasted like they burnt the beans. We wont be returning to this particular Costa, very disappointed with both the drinks and the service.

Popped in for a rare treat after the Romsey 5mile run. The staff were very efficient and smiley even with the queued to the door.

The srated area is very tired and very worn sofas and chairs.

Great place to meet some old friends after years apart, but told to pipe down but still had a great day

Nice place to grab a coffee. Plenty of seating available and was clean and tidy when visited. Tricky to park, but was OK in the end.

Nice coffee my favourite place in fact although there is plenty of other choice in romsey. Staff are friendly and service is quick. Selection of snacks on offer is good. Restaurant is kept fairly clean but the toilets are disgusting. Maybe not the restaurants fault as people appear to walk in off the street. They are well used and often have a cue but they should be cleaned more regularly it does put you off going in there when others have cleaner facilities but not as good coffee

Food and coffee offerings like any other Costa, so you know what you're letting yourself in for. Large venue with lots of seating and very clean.

Not my favourite Costa but ok for a coffee break. Plenty of tables, the place is quite dark, often long queues. There are better coffee shops in Romsey.

Quite noisy inside. Tables were not very clean and the floor was very grubby. It was only around 11.30, so not after a heavy lunch time service. Very nice tea.

It's Costa... It serves Costa coffee's and Costa food, same old same old but at least you know what you're getting...

Service okay but tables needed clearing.

Love costa. Great drinks and food is ok. Went in busy period and table was still slightly dirty and sticky but girl went and cleaned it as we were sitting down as we had paperwork sort. Didn't rush us to go so it was good but maybe a bit noisy

Costa is nice but used to allow dogs in the front bit and now doesn’t so I’ll be choosing a different cafe for my coffee when I bring my dogs. Such a shame because it’s lovely going out and socialising your dog sometimes and there are limited choices anyway for that. Now one less.

It's a Costa, nice position on the town square, good for people watching

Great sized coffee shop with plenty of seating. We did a takeaway but can imagine it’s a good place to meet friends.

I visit this costa many times with my small friendly dog, I have worked for full days in this establishment along with going on a social aspect too. I have always had my dog with me and it had never been a problem! Today was a very different experience when I was told that I can’t bring my dog inside and told I shouldn’t even have been served. I was shocked when I had visited numerous time with my dog with no issues. I was made to feel I was lucky enough to get served with my coffee at that point. There was a sign on the door saying they were shutting at 12 due to staff sickness which I thought was very u like a large establishment like Costa but this maybe why I was made to feel like this, they were trying to get rid of everyone maybe!! I won’t be visiting again for work or business because of this and will now give my business to the local Starbucks who do allow dogs and don’t make customers feel like there lucky enough to get served!! Shame Costa, you have let me down with this as you have always been my first choice!! 😤

Good place for a pit stop, especially if you prefer Costa coffee to others. Right in the middle of town, and a few steps from the renowned Abbey. Sometimes can be crowded, but you can always use their app for a quick takeaway. Good variety of lunch food.

costa cafe do not allow non service dogs even when seated outside in their cafe at Basingstoke Festival Place, security guards when asked what cafes were dog friendly assured us costa cafe,nero, and starbucks loved having their patronage. Tell the costa manager that,never mind his loss when made to look an idiot after queuing for 10mins no dogs not even seated outside of there cafe, we went to nero , no problems there spent 20 pound on lunch and coffee hello nero goodbye costa..

What a lovely cafe. Seating was comfortable, and despite it being a busy Saturday it was tidy and clean. Service was great and everything tastes wonderful. Love the seasonal Toblerone inspired latte.

Meeting a friend for coffee can be much more expensive than you think. Apparently I overstayed welcome and my £5 cost me £100! Please beware! Disgusted that this is allowed.

As a seasoned coffee drinker,I have very good reason to believe that this Costa location is NOT using Costa coffee. I had an Americano with 4 shots but could it was something other than Espresso Costa Coffee. I will never attend this location again. I do not recommend.

We were looking for somehwere for tea in Romsey on a Sunday afternoon and most of the other cafes were already shut but Costa is open longer. It is a spacious cafe with pelnty of indoor tables and a few outdoor ones. The food and drink is the standard Costa fare - reliable. The cafe was clean with efficient service.

We went to Costa in Romsey with our dog as I had checked on line whether it was dog friendly & it said it was. Whilst in the queue a number of the staff passed us & saw we had a dog nothing was said. We brought our lunch & drinks & sat down. A member of staff then informed us they no longer allow dogs & we had to sit outside. Bearing in mind how cold it is we didn’t want to do that. I told her that several members of staff had seen we had a dog and said nothing & I also said about the website saying it was dog friendly to which her response was that was nothing to do with her. There is nothing on the door to say they no longer allow dogs. We refused to sit outside & asked for a refund which we got. Very disappointed with the level of service. It wasn’t busy in there so she could have at least let us eat our food but no she didn’t.

Even the place is usually crowded, it's worth waiting. Staff are nice and smiling.

A very nice Costa to stop for a coffee. The staff were very warm and friendly.

Just went for a coffee in a break from walking around parts of Romsey and the first thing that strikes you is there seems to be more space than in some Costas. It is also situated ideally for anyone visiting the Abbey etc. The service was quick and friendly and the coffee really nice. The food looked very tempting but on this occasion I only wanted a drink. There is some general seating outside which was ideal for such a hot day and in any future visit to Romsey I would be pleased to use this place again.

Hay much as opciones en Romsey pero es dificìl encontrar un lugar mejor que Costa Coffee. Simplamente es fabuloso y pir supuesto muy sofisticado.

i do rlly love this coffee shop, they take corona and there coffee seriously and still make everything devine!! i recommend the peach iced tea and mozzarella and pesto panini. as a vegetarian, i can still get the yummiest meal despite restrictions! also always options to heat your meal and very quick service 💕 medium prices- pay cash or card 💕✨❤️😜

Para celebrar el ultimo dìa de agosto tenìa que ir a Costa coffee. Fantastico y fabuloso. Cafè caliente y sabroso y sobre todo panecillos frambuesas defanitivamente el mejor. Y por supuesto era muy limpiar y sofisticado. Guau.

No podrìas preguntar por màs. Aunque estaba pensando sobre teniendo comida para llego decidì comer dentro y fue una decisìon muy buena. Por supuesto ahora las reglas y sistemas son diferente y el menù no es grande que antes sin embargo todavìa hay much as opciones y en realidad es bastante posible pasar mucho tiempo eligiendo alimentos y bebides. La decision màs dificil es cual postre deberìas comprar y por fin fue panecillo frambuesa. Guau delicioso y sabroso. Un dìa perfecto.

The Costa in Romsey market place serves excellent hot drinks, and offers great service, however busy they are.

A meeting point for our Spring away a day adventure.Easy to find, and exactly what one expects. Plenty of room, plenty of tables, and no harassment.Even the Coffee Cake is as expected, and a handy breakfast replacement.and the great smooth coffee comes in Yorkshire sized cups.Nothing more to say

Typical Costa chain coffee shop, a cut above average for your morning break. Good service, fast and friendly. The usual chattering meeting place for the indigenous locals and tourists alike. Will visit again when in town.

What is it with people who feel the need to take their dogs everywhere with them. Our local Costa bans dogs except guide dogs and quite right so. I my self and others I know do suffer from allergies to animal hair, but this does not seem to bother dog owners!!!

Today we had visitors whom we had not seen for over 10 years and we wanted to treat them to a lunch they woukd not forget for a long time. It was a difficult decision but we chose this place over McDonalds and it proved to be the best choice we could have made, we all chose different dishes, I had the Christmas sandwich, Turkey bacon and stuffing with a devine cranberry sauce, thevother fhoices were a cheese and ham toasted sanwich, a round of toast on brown bread with complimentary butter and some nice jam and finally a soup. Cofffes included lattes and fkat whites pkus some top desserts, high in sugar, but it was acspecial occasion. Following its makeover this pkace exudes sophistication in abundance and i can thinkmof no better place forva top class luncheon or special occasion.

As Costa coffee shops go this is one of the better ones, right on the Market Square, food and service was good, coffee up to the usual standard

We had a pleasant cup of hot coffee here during our visit to Romsey. The staff were pleasant but as seems to be quite common these days in Costa Coffee shops most of the table were dirty and not cleared up.

This has recently been refurbished, and is much improved. The drinks are hot, not always the case at some Costas, and although the manager is a bit manic, rushing about topping up displays etc., the experience here is a good one.

Costa serve great coffee , friendly staff , no complaints there , but place is not big enough for dogs . When you sit there with your coffee the last thing you want is the back end of a dog wagging all over your coat , or stick its head inbetween both of you , come on owners keep your dogs under control or leave outside . Once again Costa great , dogs in there not great .

Popped in for a couple of frostino. Everything was as you would expect from Costa. Service was very good.

This Costa is long and thin with lots of spaces. The service was quick and the staff friendly. Interesting light lunches available including salads. Good disabled access and clean toilets.

A good luncheon overall. The lack of hot items necessitated the procurement of a chicken salad sandwich which whilst being acceptable was lacking in flavour and would have benefited from perhaps a cranberry sauce.

Do not be fooled by the narrow entrance into thinking that this coffeeshop is small , it goes on and on down the back, so although a first glance it may seem to be full up, there is usually plenty of space further in. It is a well patronised place because the coffee is always excellent and the service friendly. Highly reccommended.

Local Costa do not allow dogs in. I won'y be going there. some are dog friendly and some are not. you need to be consistent.

The staff are always friendly here and there is always plenty of seating - it’s difficult to review a Costa as they are pretty bulk standard - but you can usually rely on a good cup of coffee. Just a shame they never really have much character especially in an historic town like Romsey

Stopped for refreshment after our visit to The Abbey, Very hot day and sat outside. A very quiet day, little traffic (football on). The staff were lovely and attentive. Really enjoyed our visit.

The staff here are absolutly brilliant. Jayne always greets you with a smile and a giggle, paul is only too happy to help and the boys, Andy and Andy are always so polite and cheeky.

Called in for coffees - flat white and a latte as usual but decided to indulge in the bacon, brie and cranberry panini which were so good. Would recommend.

I like to visit Costa before work for a quiet coffee, however this is never the case. The place is crowded with school children of whom 90% of haven't even bought a drink. They swear loudly and throw things at each other for at least 40 minutes and leave the place in a mess. This shouldn't be allowed. Costa isn't a warm place to sit for free, it's a coffee shop. The staff here need to put some measure in to control this because it isn't fair on the other customers. I will be going to Cafe Nero from now on where i can have my drink in piece.

My husband and I had a latte and hot chocolate here last week. Staff were friendly and the place was clean.

Always good coffee, better than the others, and snacks and nibbles are also welcome. Staff are brilliant and very patient, especially in the afternoons with mums and babies. Keep it up its a pleasure to have such a great coffee shop in Romsey.

Regular visitor to Costa Coffee since the days of the first at Waterloo. Always a good cop of coffee with friendly staff.

Just another Costa Coffee. Student staff that are helpful and polite. Varieties of coffee all well made and presented. Large impersonal seating arrangement. A place to go for coffee when all the cosy tea shops are full.

I'm a regular visitor to Costa outlets as, with a few exceptions, they are consistently ok, with friendly service.

Not much to say about a coffee place, they have free water and their cappuccinos are amazing, if you buy a baby-chino they are only 55p and theyre not too small and taste very good, free wifi, have seats, overall pretty good, i give it a thumbs up

Great coffee and snacks and best of all dogs welcome here at front area. Our dog even offered a fresh bowl of water. Lovely

Had a large latte. The size of the mugs mean you definitely get your money's worth. Nice coffee and the seating is nice and spaced out which I like, rather than being sat really close to other tables.
